Why 26,000 tickets?

We needed a limited capacity for the festival, less than 30,000 people, to avoid overcrowding and mainstreaming.

We came up with 26, which translated into numerology results in the number 8. Similarly, in 2010 we will have our 8th edition. 8 it’s seven plus one, the beginning of a new era, the start of a new order. 8 thus represent regeneration. Visually the number symbolizes the infinite, the endless possibilities for creation. 8 is made of two circles interconnected thus manifesting balance within the infinite.

When Will Tickets Be On Sale?

The Boom tickets stages will run in sync with the New Moon.

You can purchase tickets on the Internet in digital format or you can get them from our global Boom Ambassador network. You'll find our Ambassadors listed in the Boom website soon. We keep you updated about the availability of tickets, to avoid the scenario of you arriving at the festival gates and we are sold out!
We apologize, once more, to those of you who had the inconvenience and frustration of coming to the Boom and not having tickets available.

1st Phase: 18 October - 15 December (6 000 tickets exclusively online – 125 €)
2nd Phase: 16 December - 14 March (10 000 tickets, including Boom Ambassador Tickets – 150€)
3rd Phase: 15 March - 26 June (10 000 tickets, including Boom Ambassador Tickets – 175 €)

Note(1): At Boom the camping, caravan parking, drinking water, toilets, showers, communitarian kitchen are all free of charge.
Note(2): As a matter of curiosity: for a ticket of 125€ the average daily price for Boom would be 15,6€; for 150€ the average daily price would be 18,75€; and if we consider the 3rd phase ticket each day would be priced at 21,08 €.

The Boom Festival, a creative hub in the planet Earth, where people from almost 100 nationalities meet and relate -, we like to open our network to more artists than in previous years. Most importantly, we want Boom to be a truly collaborative and participatory gathering.

What Can You Expect For Boom?

The Boom Team is teaming up with some amazing curators, in music, visual arts, installations, decoration and bio construction.

Projects are in development and we'll present all Boomers with the latest in art and sustainability.
Major improvements will be made in sanitary, showers, caravan parking and public art. We keep the Boom community updated on a regular basis, not on Twitter, but through the Boom website with news and Boom Web TV Videocasts.

The dates of the 8th edition of Boom Festival due to occur in 2010 are revealed. August 18th to the 26th in sync with the full moon.

The Boom Team is now in a brainstorming stage. We are evaluating all areas of the festival with a strong conviction for improvement. The main guidelines for 2010 are set and the whole concept and cultural approach are materializing.
All updates will be revealed through the Boom website.

Never Trust a Rumour: Portugal is The Base For Boom

We’ve been hearing crazy rumours for years but they are all wrong. Sorry dudes! That Boom was about to move to Brazil was the first rumour that cropped up – we estimate around 2002.

Then in 2004, a new gossip was going on: Boom would be held in Spain. More recently, we’ve been getting emails from people that want to book their flights to the beautiful and astonishing Azores archipelago as apparently the next Boom will be there. Noooop...

We make it clear from now on: Boom is geographically based in Portugal but is a collaborative project made by people from all around the world - Europeans, Northern and Southern Americans, Asians and Africans, or Aussies. Unless someone finds us a way of holding it on a psychedelic spaceship that would cross dimensions, we’ll stay here on the same latitude, in this laid-back country on the Western side of Europe, on the verge of Europe, Africa and the American continent.

Boom 2010 Tickets Will Be Limited

No more than 26 000 people will attend Boom Festival 2010. No more tickets, as we don’t want to become an overcrowded and mainstream festival. We are already planning better infrastructures for the comfort of all the Boomers, where space and cosiness will be felt.

We’ll upgrade our music and art program, line ups will be released sooner than in previous years, and we’ll emphasize new facilities on the sanitary and ecological level. Ways of dealing with the entrance is another concern we are faced with and which we are now thinking about how to improve so that people don’t have to wait for so long to get in.
Similarly to some of you, we felt some of the magic lost due to overcrowding and we are working towards the revival of the spirit that was always felt at Boom… Keep updated through the Boom website.

Pachamama Honoured By The Ecuadorian Constitution

Ecuador passed a revolutionary constitution that granted rights to nature.

Months have passed and there have been no repercussions on both the mainstream media and in western world societies on a breakthrough law as important as the human rights.
