A selection of various winning logo designs, already on air representing their companies to the outside world. Let’s remember the pitches and some interesting statistics about each one of them.

Reflex & Allen Group
Soon after acquiring a smaller British player, Reflex group wanted a new name and logo to express the identity of the recent merger. This Pitch has attracted 138 proposal from 15 countries and in the end the USD 2000 went to FF from Italy.

<a class="imageLink" href="http://blog.bootb.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/reflexallen20.pdf"target=_blank>

Quippe.it
553 logo proposals were submitted for the perusal of Quippe, a low cost and environmental friendly print studio. Despite the minimum budget invested and the Brief made available only in Italian language, this project has attracted BootB Creators from 14 countries. The USD 1200 prize went to Beppe064.

eSoccerTime
11 countries were represented in the Logo design Pitch started by a now up and running start-up looking to commercialize over the internet football merchandize. Among the 103 proposals coming from 11 countries, the Solution submitted by MoRoZ was the one scoring.

What happens to creativity bought on BootB? Most of the times it goes on air exactly the way it was initially submitted by the winning BootB Creator, sometimes, before going live it suffers slight adjustments that the Brand considers opportune, less frequently the winning creativity is just the starting point and develops into something new. It may also happen that after purchasing a creative Solution, a client decides to use only part of it.

And this is exactly the case for the Name and Logo Pitch run by Fondazione Fiera Milano. For various legitimate reasons, after rewarding Lidoska for her proposal, the Brand decided to use only the name.

MiCo is how Europe’s largest Convention Center will be called. It’s simple, short, easy to recognize and to understand, as described by Lidoska in her proposal.

<a class="imageLink" href="http://blog.bootb.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/mico_presentation_ol.pdf"target=_blank>

The hand painted logo proposed was chosen to give a touch of familiarity, naturalness and uniqueness. Click on the image to see full Solution, including stationery examples.

So, what do you think of it? By the way, more winning logos will be published this week. Keep an eye on the blog..

An Italian producer of security locks wanted to sweep away every theft related worry a bicycle owner might have. After engineering a unique wall anchor lock called simply Wallock, the company needed a viral marketing idea to increase product awareness among cyclists or bike owners in general.

Here is the video chosen to spread the word about Wallock - even if the World goes upside down, you will still find your bicycle exactly where you… “walllocked” it :)

This video has been created by karan_s and it is already available on the producer website and on Youtube.

Pretty cool, don’t you think? Question is: would you share it with your friends?

Some of you have probably noticed this before us but we still want to take the opportunity to remember all of you about some of our older website design pitches and share the outcome with everybody.

SANMIRO is a young and dynamic company which needed a website face lift reflecting its innovative spirit. Chosen among a host of proposal, the website design submitted by morfeusweb was the one meeting all the expectations outlined by SANMIRO.

Mondo Arancio is a beautiful initiative, a nonprofit organization decided to protect and preserve the Sicilian land and harvest tradition, by giving away for adoption nothing else but… orange trees. The website design standing head and shoulders above all Solutions arrived in response to this challenge was the one signed by whiteoctopus.

Born 39 years ago in Reggio Emilia, a small and happy city in the northern part of Italy. Graduated from the local Art Institute and from the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna, under the guidance of Concetto Pozzati. Moved to the United States eight years ago. Works as Senior Art Director at GAVI International, a marketing agency near Chicago, Illinois.

She is Lidoska – painter, art director and BootB Creator.

<a class="imageLink" href="http://blog.bootb.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/portrait_0211_bb.jpg"target=_blank>

Read her story and see her work!
Lidoska The Painter
How did you discover you had a creative talent for painting?
As a child I was very shy. Expressing myself through drawing and painting gave me comfort and confidence. Shapes and colors were my friends, allowing me to develop and enjoy my imaginary world. Moreover I had a well-known artists and art professor in my family, Romano Guietti. I realized that pursuing artistic studies would be my natural path during the long conversations I had with him.

What inspires you to paint and how do you keep motivated when things get tough in the studio?
I’ve been painting for over 20 years, mainly focusing on building a personal method through a constant practice. Painting inner being and beauty is my central interest.
The process is a personal experience of intimate dialogue with myself and the world around me. I express myself through the exploration of color, materials and signs and their interaction and relationship to each other. By experimenting with these elements, I allow them to freely take on their own form to reach a unique equilibrium.
The end result is a narrative that transmits extraordinary images relating to space, time, history and memories, interpreted through total expressive freedom. I consider my work finished only when it succeeds in creating a moment for reflection. Only when it creates a real fact that turns into poetry through my own development of the work, am I truly satisfied. My clients are aware of this process and of how much time I need, so things never get tough in my studio.

<a class="imageLink" href="http://blog.bootb.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/portico.jpg"target=_blank>

Your paintings are bright and playful. What are you trying to communicate through them?
I grew up in a genuine and authentic environment, surrounded by the great Italian culture and history. This is the main reason why it’s possible to define my representations as joyous and serene. They come from my memories and background which taught me that. No matter how hard and difficult life is, it’s important to find a positive space where beauty and enjoyment are the protagonist and to aspire to better achievements as well as to rest and train your mind and body.

<a class="imageLink" href="http://blog.bootb.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/comunity.jpg"target=_blank>

Lidoska The Art Director
How did your career unfold?
I always knew that working as a fine artist I could hardly rely on a secure monthly salary and that I would have to learn a parallel profession. What was most significant to my artistic background was working as a graphic designer. At the age of 16, during the summer I started my apprenticeship at a packaging design agency where I learned the basics.
At 21, I founded a marketing company with three partners. We worked together for ten years, specializing in fashion and food companies. During those years, I have gained my experience in art direction. At the end of this crazy, yet rewarding adventure, I was given the opportunity to work in the United States. So, I decided to go with the flow and experience a great life change.

<a class="imageLink" href="http://blog.bootb.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/lvl_brchr_in_1.jpg"target=_blank>

Why the US instead of Italy?
I was offered a good position in a company I already knew, a good salary plus the opportunity to work with a close-knit team… I could not refuse. I live between the excitement of the unknown and a deep nostalgia for my land and my beloved family and friends. This intense passion conveys the necessary vibration for my artistic expression.

What is it that you enjoy most about your job, your career?
To live out of my creativity… I could not ask for better.

Tea or coffee whilst you work?
ESPRESSO!!

Lidoska The BootB Creator
How did you get to know BootB.com?
Just out of curiosity I was looking online for some freelance work. When I saw BootB.com I fell in love with the name “BootB Republic”. The concept seemed fantastic. I decided to be a part of the community. Great Brands and so many good creators to compete with. Very challenging, I was hooked!

What determined you to participate to the Pitch run by Fondazione Fiera Milano?
Well, to be honest, the budget was the first thing that struck me. I do not have enough time to focus on all the Pitches I like, but with that budget I said “Hey! You have to at least give it a try”. Then I read the brief and I felt confident I could come up with something interesting so I did it.

How does it feel to have bested over 600 designers from 24 countries?
Incredibly GREAT. A state of grace.

<a class="imageLink" href="http://blog.bootb.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/gavi_cafe_logo.jpg"target=_blank>

Any advice for the other BootB Creators?
NEVER GIVE UP! Don’t get frustrated if your concept is not the winner. Trying is never a waste of time. It’s always a constructive experience. In the end, only one wins among many valuable solutions, so is not easy. Read and examine the brief very carefully and make a lot of research. Last but not least, create with all your skills, passion, heart and soul.

Lidoska The Woman
What do you do when you’re not painting nor working as an art director?
I spend time relaxing with my husband and close friends. I read novels and history books and I go swimming twice a week.

Nice meeting you Lidoska and best of luck for the future!

March kicked off with a whooshing design race as BootB had hosted Pirelli’s F1 car livery design competition. To celebrate its official comeback in F1 as the only tyre supplier for the World Championship (2011-2013), Pirelli decided to create and expose in all its major events around Europe two F1 showcars. Their livery design will be unique and distinctive, while in line with Pirelli’s identity. One of the livery designs was granted to the BootB community.

Designers from all over the world put their cars into the race. Azerbaijan, Mexico, Bulgaria, France, Germany, India, Italy, Jamaica, Lithuania, Romania, Portugal, Russia, Ukraine, the United Kingdom and the United States were the countries represented.

Along with the Pitch, Pirelli has also created a blog dedicated to sharing and voting the designs which entered the competition. During the 21 days of “racing”, most of the livery designs were uploaded on pitline.pirelli.com.

Qualified 32 out of the 185 designs submitted and half of them were shortlisted. Here are the Solution numbers which reached the shortlist, for the information of our Creators: 8, 20, 54, 56, 68, 75, 80, 81, 95, 104, 113, 119, 175, 176, 182 and 185. We take the opportunity to congratulate the authors of these Solutions.

After 21 days of racing, the one who saw the checkered flag, and cashed in the USD 3800 at stake, was Bruno Maugery (known as b on BootB) from France. He is 26 years old, had studied pharmacy and graphic design and started his art director career at Publicis Conseil in Paris (2007-2010). Bruno is currently working at Being/ TBWA.

“Emotional Grip” is how he titled his Solution. The design, suggesting that the power of a F1 car starts with its tyres, illustrates the asphalt particles mixing with Pirelli’s identity. The rest of the car is deliberately very simple to let the strength of the design focus on the tyres.

We’ve only heard good things from Berlitz, about the Solutions submitted in response to its Autumn Campaign Pitch so we decided to share some of the contenders of the two-tongue girl :)

The winning Solution coming all the way from Australia had very strong local contenders from Italy. Triple congratulations to Metrocuadrocubo who has featured the shortlist three times, and just as warm compliments to Tinoart for his shortlisted Solution.

Click on any of the images below to see the full content of proposals.

“Speechless Never Again” (Solution number 8) presents several everyday situations when the lack of language skills can put one in difficulty.

<a class="imageLink" href="http://blog.bootb.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/8.pdf"target=_blank>

“Ages – How antique are your language skills?” (Solution 13) is subtly reminding those who have studied a foreign language long time ago that they might want to improve it or start from scratch.

<a class="imageLink" href="http://blog.bootb.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/13.pdf"target=_blank>

“Arrested by the Foreign Language Police” (Solution 24) is playing on the double sense of the verb “arrestare” in Italian (arrestare = to arrest, to block, to stop). Apart from illustrating several “language criminals” and what they have been charged of, this campaign is bringing back those moments when faulty language skills had stopped you from participating to a conversation or taking advantage of an opportunity.

<a class="imageLink" href="http://blog.bootb.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/24.pdf"target=_blank>

Tinoart proposed a campaign that makes fun of a pretended English mother tongue Italian that misspells a very common word – “Biutifull” (Solution 30)

<a class="imageLink" href="http://blog.bootb.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/30.pdf"target=_blank>

This Shortlist is beautiful indeed, don’t you agree?

On April 3rd 2011 local consumers in Trento (North Italy) had been introduced to Poli’s new logo, restyled and adapted to the new market demand. This is the first company’s redesign since 1995. The new logo, designed via BootB, attains to face the challenges of the future without losing its precious historical heritage of over 50 years of activity.

This logo design Pitch brings in a wonderful story that we are proud to share with you. Most interesting aspects of it are internationality, full client satisfaction and rewarded and credited Serbian Creator who gained further projects to work on after the closure of the Pitch online.

The creative project in a nutshell:

∞ 262 participating Creators
∞ 28 represented countries among which: Brazil, Colombia, Canada, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Denmark, Tunisia, Ukraine, Romania, Serbia, Hungary, Russia, Spain, Italy, UK.
∞ 6 languages in which the Brief was translated
∞ 425 valid creative Solutions
∞ 149 shortlisted proposals (35%)
∞ 3 proposals on the narrowed list of potentially winning Solutions
∞ 2 focus groups composed of Poli customers and communication experts to appraise the finalists.
∞ 1 winning Solution submitted from Serbia.

Considering criteria like graphical impact and memorability, symbolic and semantic associations, continuity, communication efficiency and distinctiveness, the jury has nominated Solution number 365 as the winner. Who was behind it? <a href="http://www.strawberry.rs/"target=_blank>Strawberry Ideas & Solutions – award winning full service marketing and communications agency founded in 2004 in Belgrad, Serbia.

And the most beautiful part of the story is yet to come. Poli Group has continued the collaboration with Strawberry I&S after the closure of the Pitch. Apart from restyling the logo of Regina, Poli’s sister brand, the winning agency was the one putting in place the launch campaign including the following channels: local print (Adige, Trentino, Alto Adige, Dolomiten), outdoor (Trento, Bolzano, Rovereto) and internet (<a href="http://www.superpoli.it/"target=_blank>www.superpoli.it)

“Grow together, sharing the same values. Our image changes but our bond grows stronger. Poli, a world to explore.” is the launch campaign slogan.

Here at BootB we are thrilled to see yet another beautiful project coming to a successful end and great creativity coming to life :).

Family company, <a href="http://www.para.it/home.asp?sIdLingua=2"target=_blank>Parà Industrial Group was founded in 1920 and today it is the European leader in manufacturing and selling fabrics for indoor and outdoor decoration. On the occasion of launching TEMPOTESTSTAR FR, its new fabric with flame retardant properties, the group needed a print campaign to convey innovative attributes of the product.

Burning up competition, the proposal submitted by Metroquadrocubo won the competition and brought USD 1 200 to its author. The image above is the implemented version of the creativity, almost identical to the one submitted. Bringing together two essential concepts, the firefighters truck as a symbol of extinguished fire and the baby, as the image of serenity, the Solution communicates the main strengths of TEMPOTESTSTAR FR.

The campaign is now on air. The Italian version of the ad is has already been published in the specialized magazine Tenda IN&OUT.

“BootB has proved to be a truly fast, easy to use and affordable solution to finding the best creativity to represent our new innovative product – Tempotest. Without any doubts we will use again the BootB service for our next marketing projects, both national and international ones.“, concluded Mr Patruno.

Our Creators are burning with creativity so any new creative challenge is very much welcome :).
