Pleiades – First Quarter Moon
I wrote yesterday about the rattling effect of the Pleiades and how it’s been activated by Venus and Mercury. It’s brought turbulent weather and increased seismic activity. Nine and a half hours after posting yesterday’s Thought, a mag-5.2 earthquake centered in the Ottawa Valley sent shock waves hundreds of miles in every direction to New York State, northern Ontario, Quebec and Michigan.

At 9:43am, the effect of that tremblor was felt right here in Toronto. I can vouch for it myself. I experienced a 5.2 mag quake a few years ago in Santorini, so I recognized what was happening right away. It is an exhilarating sensation when the Earth rocks. Fortunately, no one was hurt.

The astrological pressure will continue to grow in the coming days as the Sun and Mars join up with the Pleades. That, combined with the epic Uranus/Pluto bulls-eye square on Monday, and next Friday’s Full Moon, will make the coming days highly charged.

We’ve reached the First Quarter Moon or development phase of the 29.5-day lunar month. I’ll try and add more to today’s Thought later today .

Pleiades the Rattler
The star cluster, the Pleiades, is being activated again. I wrote about this extensively back in April 2012 when Texas was hit by a cluster of tornadoes. The Maximum rated tornado was an EF3. It was powerful enough to pick up tractor-trailers (articulated lorries for British readers) and toss them up in the air and twirl them around like feathers. A local TV station broadcast this live as the storm hit in the afternoon. It’s the kind of thing that has you sitting on the end of your seat.

At that time Venus, which makes a full journey around the zodiac from Aries to Pisces once a year, was traversing 29degTaurus/0degGemini. That’s where the Pleiades are. You could see Venus, symbol of life on Earth, gliding past the Pleiades in the darkening sky after sunset. The Mayans called the Pleiades the Rattler. The timing of that celestial event was clearly linked to the shaking and rattling in Texas.

On Wed evening, this week, May 15, at least 13 tornadoes touched down in Texas again not far from where they struck last year. The impact this year was even more powerful. It hit with terrifying ferocity. In recent years, storms have developed a frightening supernatural quality. It’s the stuff of science fiction movies.

The storms this week were timed with the activation of the Pleiades again. Venus floated past the rattler, the Pleiades, on May 10 and carried the energy into a square with Neptune just as the storm hit on the 15th. Meanwhile, Mercury (the messenger) made a direct pass by the Pleiades right on the day of the Texas tornadoes.

Astrological, there are indications that more is to come. As Uranus and Pluto bang in with the third of seven squares on Monday, the Sun will cross by the Pleiades (Rattler). Then Mars will follow along the same path on May 30. The Full Moon of May 25 will be magnifying this explosive energy. And Neptune, known as the Earth-shaker, in ancient Greece is also involved by a square to the above cocktail.

It looks like more weather drama is imminent. And Texas isn’t the only place being affected.

Hundreds of thousands have been displaced by Cyclone Mahasen in Bangladesh.

A tornado slammed Hungary on May 14.

Homes have been inundated by lake ice in Minnesota and Manitoba.

China has had days of heavy and steady rains that have caused flooding and widespread disruption across the south of the country.

Parts of Northeastern France have experienced the worst flooding since 2001 as heavy rain caused several rivers to reach dangerously high levels.

Volcanoes are bursting into action too. Alaskans are on alert due to the 8,000-foot Pavlof volcano emitting a continuous ash, steam and gas cloud that has extended up to 60 miles downwind.

Mount Mayon, one of 50 volcanoes in the Philippines spewed up a giant cloud of ash and rocks early Tuesday.

On Saturday, Mexico’s majestic Popcatepetl volcano rumbled with explosions and expulsions of ash and gas.

Uranus and Pluto are clashing. This is a huge alignment that I’ve been writing about here in this column and in your horoscopes.

Mercury Reaches Far Side of Sun
Mercury (Hermes) is your personal strategist. He’s the one that connects you with the Universe. Through Hermes, your needs are communicated to the gods. He connects you with your true destiny and fulfilment.

His cycle is an important one. Mercury journeys round the Sun once-every-4-months from our perspective. Last Feb 23 to March 17, his orbit passed between us and the Sun. On March 17, he left us and headed off to the far side of the Sun with your hopes, dreams and aspiration in tow. During this phase he appeared as a morning star.

He’s now passed around the far side of the Sun and has begun his return journey. He’ll soon appear as an elusive evening star close to the western horizon right after sunset.

Think back to Feb/March. What was on your wish list at that time? The issues that you were dealing with are up for review now, that is, about 2 weeks before after May 11. Some good news concerning your progress will come up. If progress is slow or if problems come up, do not be discouraged. Retool your strategy. Rethink your plans. Hermes is a shrewd trader. He’s an expert negotiator. No problem is too big for him.

Crescent Moon Brings Hope – Venus/Jupiter Show
A beautiful thin crescent Moon is gracing the evening sky after sunset. It’s a gorgeous sight and one that will bring you good luck. Take a look below it as darkness falls and you’ll spot bright Jupiter. Then look still lower and you’ll find Venus just above the horizon at the sunset point between 35 to 55 minutes after sunset.

Let’s keep a watch on it over the coming weeks. It’s going to give us a great cosmic show. Venus will rise higher and Jupiter will drop lower as they approach each and eventually join up. The Venus-Jupiter conjunction will take place on May 28, 2013.

Leafs Nation
Bitter news for Leaf fans that saw their team’s huge lead disintegrate in the last few minutes of last night’s game against the Boston Bruins. It was shocking development and not an easy one to swallow. But it was a powerful moment. Positive for the Bruins. Negative for the Leafs. Just remember that negative energy can turn positive with the flick of a switch in your head.

The powerful energy of disappointment and failure can easily be converted into the energy of determination to succeed. With the crack of a bat a batter can change the direction of 100 mph pitch from one that’s going over the plate to one that’s flying over the pitcher’s head into home run.

So, turn the negative energy of last night loss (if you’re a Leafs fan) into positive determination to achieve the big dream of your life. Flick that switch in your head. Convert negative into positive!

Pluto (Hades) lurks down deep in the Earth. With the planet Pluto and Uranus squaring off, volcanic activity, as predicted here recently in this column, is intensifying as volcanoes spew out their message in more urgent tones. Several eruptions have taken place during the first week of May, 2013.

Heightened activity has taken place at Mount Cleveland on May 4 in Alaska, Mayon Volcano on May 7 in the Philippines and Popcatepetl on May 7 in Mexico.

Other volcanoes that sent out warning explosions were Tungurahua in Ecuador, Papandayan in Indonesia and Heard Island in the southern Indian Ocean.

Dec 21, 2012 has come and gone, but the Mayan Calendar message that we are transitioning from an old 5,125-year world order is still alive. Media hype put on all the emphasis on Dec 21 which neglected the most important message of the Mayans. A new World is on the way. The time-space continuum is breaking down.

The shift that’s taking place is increasing the urgency to find meaning in life. Why were you born? Why are you here? Is this the only reality or other other ones? If you feel an urgency to look into yourself and find your creative source, you are correct to feel that way. It’s perfectly normal. It’s essential.

The Pluto and Uranus reach the third of seven crescendos by May 20. The May 25 Full Moon will magnify that alignment and spread the effect over a longer period of time. Let’s keep a watch on development here in this column. It’ll be reflected in volcanoes and moving tectonic plates, the weather and human behaviour.

Lunar Cycle
The Moon is young and vibrant. It’s a thin crescent to the left (east) of the Sun. Last Friday kicked of the next 29.5-day lunar month. It’s time to sow seeds and put your ideas out there. Do your networking. Take proactive action in whatever it is that you feel passionate about. The dynamic energy of the Pluto/Uranus alignment will fuel your cause and inspire your heart.

Toronto Maple Leafs’ Nation will sleep well tonight. Against the odds, the Leafs brought great joy to their hockey fans who watched them perform the impossible by pushing their series with the mighty Boston Bruins to a sixth game on Sunday in Toronto. Well done, Leafs. What an amazing hockey game. If you live far away from Toronto and Canada and are wondering what on Earth I’m talking about. Don’t worry. We’ve got a great love of hockey here. New Moon
A New Moon in the fixed sign of Taurus kicked last night at 8:28pm ET. It’s also an Annular Solar Eclipse or Ring of Fire that will be visible in Australia and the Pacific. A wider band extending beyond the narrow line of the Annular Eclipse will see a partial eclipse. That will include Indonesia, New Zealand and will extend as far as Baja California.

The fixed sign of Taurus means we’re in the heart of the spring in the Northern Hemisphere. Leaves are bursting into life, flowers are blooming and birds are feverishly building their nests.

The proactive energy of the New Moon marks the start of another 29.5-day lunar month which is divided into 4 segments: New Moon, First Quarter, Full Moon and Last Quarter.

The first segment: New Moon to First Quarter Moon is a good time to get your ideas formulated and put them out to the world. It’s good for meeting people and getting proactive. Keep your mind focused on thoughts, images and ideas that inspire your enthusiasm and sense of hope.
