This year I designed one in my Mother’s memory. If she were living she would be having her 65th birthday this month. I chose as a motive flowers because her love to them, and Quaker style because her aesthetics matched her personality.
Como todos saben el año pasado diseñe y dedique Heritage Sampler a mi padre y la memoria a mi abuela . Este año he diseñado uno en la memoria de mi madre. Si ella estuviese con vida habria cumplido este Junio 65 años. Escoji como motivo flores pues era algo que ella adoraba, el estilo Quaker porque pienso que la estetica del mismo va con lo que era su personalidad.

I used traditional medallions on the design as well as some of my own invention, I also made a big change on the traditional Quaker style and it’s on the way that the color was used, see it for yourself.

Utilice medallones tradicionales asi como algunos de diseño propio, tambien hice un cambio importante en lo que es tradicional en los samplers estilo Quaker y fue la manera en la que use el color en el. Observalo por ti mism@.

Talk about my mom even when it has been almost ten years after her death is not easy for me, and because of that I hope that you can see my feelings through her in my design and can identify yourself and made your own on it too.

As you know I live in Ohio and there is nothing more “anywhere America” than us!! I didn’t said it, you can see it also in movies, where the anytown boy/girl comes? From Ohio!! So I believe that you can relate with this houses and imagine yourselves living on it.

Lets start with the first house - I need to clarify that the characters that live in My Neighborhood have been my neighbors and friends in different times of my live, just not all at the same time. I move them to live with us!

This is the first house of my row, you can see just with the red door how bold their personalities are!

Our kids have the same age which make so easy for us to click. I think that if E tells me that she needs my help and needs me to go to Florida all that I’ll ask will be: when?
She has been my “stitcher partner in crime” for ever, we still laugh when we remember our shopping sprees hunting new charts, fabric and threads! we blame each other for the size of our stash, I mean our “modern art’s supply collections” after all this is what a partner in crime is for isn’t it?
