After it was announced that Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, would be headlining all three days of London’s Wireless Festival this year, the event was publicly criticized by UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, London Mayor Sir Sadiq Khan, and multiple Jewish leaders.

Little Britain star Matt Lucas directly called out Pepsi for their involvement in the festival, which led to the brand pulling out. British alcoholic beverage leader Diageo also stopped their involvement.

“Have you released a song called ‘Heil Hitler’? Have you sold t-shirts with swastikas on them? Have you promised to go ‘death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE’? If so, congratulations! You may be eligible to headline @WirelessFest, sponsored by @pepsiuk,” Lucas tweeted on Saturday, April 4.

After that post is when Pepsi withdrew from the event, which is significant considering that the festival had also officially been called “Pepsi presents Wireless”.

“Pepsi has decided to withdraw its sponsorship of Wireless Festival,” a Pepsi spokesperson told USA Today.

Diageo, owner of the Johnnie Walker and Captain Morgan brands, told The Independent on Sunday evening that it had withdrawn, as well.

“We have informed the organizers of our concerns and as it stands, Diageo will not sponsor the 2026 Wireless festival.”

Variety reported on Monday that Rockstar Energy is the third sponsor to pull out, citing an unnamed source who allegedly confirmed that the energy drinks company was dropping out due to Ye’s involvement.

Ye is currently navigating his attempt at a comeback tour after releasing a new album, Bully. He’s currently touring the US for the first time since 2021, which comes on the heels of years of antisemitic statements, describing himself as a Nazi, and selling T-shirts emblazoned with swastikas.

He’s since apologized for those statements, but many critics don’t buy his sincerity—especially since that apology came shortly before announcing his tour. Ye took out a full-page advertisement in The Wall Street Journal to apologize for years of antisemitic remarks.

The Wireless Festival will go down at Finsbury Park in London from July 10 to July 12. Festival organizers previously told the BBC that Ye’s “UK comeback will be an extraordinary chapter in Wireless’s story,” following his last performance in the U.K. in 2015.

According to PEOPLE, during a recent appearance on the March 31st episode of NPR’s Fresh Air podcast, the 53-year-old singer sat down with Tonya Mosley to recount a legendary, albeit humbling, first interaction with the late Aretha Franklin. The story has since sparked a massive debate online regarding the old-school gatekeeping of the music industry and the necessity of proving oneself to elders.

As Scott tells it, she approached Franklin with the wide-eyed reverence of a fan, ready to pour out her heart and tell the icon how much she loved her. At the time, Scott wasn’t just a newcomer; she had already experienced great success in the industry.

In new interviews, the couple shared that her symptoms began in 2012, though she was not officially diagnosed until 2015 after initially being told it was anxiety. Now, after years of managing the disease privately, they’re speaking out about what the journey has looked like, how it tested them, and why they finally felt ready to go public.

What makes their story hit even harder is how long Rebecca was carrying this in silence. She opened up about dealing with numbness, tremors, exhaustion, and the kind of emotional weight that can come with a life-changing diagnosis, especially when you do not have clear answers at first.

“I hadn’t slept in three days [due to the disease],” said Rebecca in an interview with PEOPLE for this week’s issue detailing when she reached her breaking point. “And I felt like I wanted to die.”

By the time she got the Parkinson’s diagnosis in 2015, she had already spent years trying to understand what was happening to her body. The hopeful turn in the story is that Rebecca recently underwent a bilateral focused ultrasound at Stanford Hospital. This noninvasive treatment has already helped ease symptoms on the right side of her body.

Reports say she is among fewer than 100 patients in the country to receive the treatment, and she plans to have the other side treated later this year. Rebecca told the Today Show that she’s able to do things like write her name again with her right hand and balance better, which shows just how meaningful the improvement has been.

He’s since apologized for those statements, but many critics don’t buy his sincerity—especially since that apology came shortly before announcing his tour. Ye took out a full-page advertisement in The Wall Street Journal to apologize for years of antisemitic remarks.

In response to Bailey’s attendance, specifically, many commenters criticized her for not only attending, but for posting so much about it.

On user on X wrote: “chloe baby.. put the phone down omfg.”

Others mentioned the fact that Bailey has also been a vocal supporter of an even more controversial artist: Chris Brown.

“Wtf is wrong with her? I tried to give her a 2nd chance after that Chris Brown collab but forget it,” one fan said.

Despite many people condemning anyone who chose to support Ye in his attempt for a comeback, some have pointed out that women attending the concert got more backlash than the men who did. Dave Chappell, The Game, Paul Pierce, Kevin Gates, and more celebs were seen at the same show—but Chlöe seems to be getting the most smoke.

One reason for that, beside the always-present misogyny, is Bailey’s connection to Beyoncé. She is signed to the singer’s label and management company, Parkwood Entertainment, and has long been praised by B.

While Ye used to have a strong connection to Beyoncé and her husband, Jay-Z, that friendship is likely 6 feet under. After years of speculated tension between the former friends and collaborators, Ye tweeted horrific allegations about the couple’s children, which seems pretty impossible to come back from.

As for Chlöe, she chose not to respond to the backlash, instead, taking to social media on Easter Sunday to sing.

“happy Easter! thank you Jesus for your everlasting love. have a blessed day everyone!,” she wrote in her caption.

Police officers engaging in wanton violence against citizens has gotten beyond exhausting.

The two reports from the El Paso Times and KTSM document yet another disturbing instance of police violence, one that feels painfully familiar in both its brutality and the system’s predictable response.

At the center of both articles is a viral video showing officers from the El Paso Police Department violently arresting a woman inside a home. According to reporting, officers were attempting to take the woman into custody on an outstanding warrant tied to a family violence allegation. But what unfolds in the footage goes far beyond a routine arrest, it is chaotic, aggressive, and deeply troubling.

The video shows multiple officers grappling with the woman as she screams in distress. She repeatedly cries out that she “can’t breathe,” a phrase that has become synonymous with some of the most horrifying cases of police violence in recent memory. At one point, despite already being physically restrained, an officer punches her in the head. 

Even more disturbing are the details surrounding her condition. A bystander—believed to be her mother—can be heard telling officers that the woman has autism, raising serious questions about whether the police made any attempt to de-escalate the situation or adjust their approach.

“This my home, and they just beat up my daughter in front of me. She was coming out peacefully, (they) tased her, he beat her up and she has autism,” she says.

Instead, the encounter appears to escalate rapidly, with the woman claiming she had already been tased multiple times during the arrest. 

Both outlets note that the department has responded in the most predictable way possible: by announcing an internal investigation. The official statement acknowledges “community concern” while insisting that force was used during the apprehension and that the situation is under review.  But these statements ring hollow, especially in the face of clear video evidence showing a restrained woman being struck in the head.

The woman was ultimately booked into jail on charges including family violence and resisting arrest before being released on bond. Yet the focus on her alleged offenses does little to justify—or distract from—the sheer level of force used against her. Watching officers escalate to punches against someone already subdued is not just excessive, it’s emblematic of a system that continues to treat violence as a first resort rather than a last.

The backlash following UConn coach Geno Auriemma’s outburst at South Carolina coach Dawn Staley in the closing seconds of their national semifinal matchup on Friday night has drawn a considerable amount of media attention and support from fans of both teams. Coach Auriemma sparked the heated exchange by allegedly accusing Coach Staley of not shaking his hand before the game, an accusation refuted by a video aired by ESPN that shows the two exchanging handshakes. 

As Staley walked away from Auriemma, she yelled, “I will beat Geno’s ass,” a line that has since gone viral with at least one sports bar adding the phrase to its marquee. 

In an interview on Saturday, one of Coach Auriemma’s former star players, retired WNBA player Diana Taurasi, downplayed the exchange between the rival coaches, saying it was nothing more than “two people competing at the highest level that have a tremendous amount of respect for each other.” 

But, for many Black women, Auriemma’s behavior reflects a familiar dynamic many of us have encountered in the workplace where no matter how hard we work, we still face discrimination and disrespect from white colleagues. 

Many of us are taught before we set foot in our first office jobs that to be a Black woman in the workplace means we have to work twice as hard to be twice as good, only to get half as far. 

According to a 2020 study released by Lean In and McKinsey and Company, Black women “experience a wider range of microaggressions” and are “more likely to have their judgment questioned in their area of expertise and to be asked to provide additional evidence of their competence.” 

As a longtime newsroom leader who has occupied top high level editorial positions at some of the top news organizations in the country, I’ve experienced this more times than I can count. I’ve had my editorial judgment questioned in ways and with a level of veracity my white peers do not experience. I have never been accused of not shaking someone’s hand before a game, but I have experienced managers dwelling on trivialities unrelated to my work and calling into question my personal ethics and professionalism.

Over the past several decades, Coach Dawn Staley has emerged as a legendary figure in women’s basketball who has shown she’s willing to work twice as hard. 

The four-time U.S. Olympic gold medal winner (three as a player and one as head coach in 2021) played seven seasons in the WNBA, and for most of those seasons, she simultaneously coached Temple University’s women’s basketball team. 

In 2008, Staley joined the University of South Carolina Gamecocks as head coach, and she built the program into the powerhouse it is today. During her tenure, the Gamecocks won their first national championship in 2017, followed by two more championship wins in 2022 and 2024. 

Staley’s successes have earned her the unique distinction of being the only person to win the prestigious Naismith Award as both a player and a coach. Twice as good, indeed.

What makes Auriemma’s accusations all the more appalling is that Staley has also proven to be twice as kind behind the scenes. She’s earned a reputation for showing compassion and care that goes beyond what could reasonably be labeled as good coaching or good sportsmanship. 

After the Gamecocks defeated the Southern University women’s basketball team at the start of this year’s March Madness tournament, she gifted the Southern University players with Louis Vuitton perfume. When asked by a reporter what prompted her offering, she explained that it was a small gesture for the players after a couple of the young women had complimented her and asked her what scent she was wearing. 

Staley is also known for greeting the long line of people seated courtside in the media row, something she did prior to the start of Friday’s UConn game. 

When reporters asked Auriemma to comment on what had occurred in the final seconds of that game, he stood by his words and actions and withheld an apology for his behavior. He didn’t feel it was warranted. 

While Auriemma was standing his ground, Staley continued to show up as she always has. During the UCLA v. Texas matchup that followed her team’s win, she was seen in the stands graciously posing for pictures and signing autographs for fans. 

In an interview early Saturday, Auriemma was asked by a reporter if he had a personal relationship with Staley, and he said “Nah, not really. We don’t have a lot in common.” While Auriemma went on to say he respected the work Staley had done to build the Gamecocks basketball program into the strong program it is today, his dismissiveness about whether the two had a personal connection was at best peculiar and at worst unnecessary. 

It is well known that college basketball coaches spend a considerable amount of their personal time thinking, talking, and obsessing over basketball. As coaches of elite teams, Auriemma and Staley compete for the same titles and live the same year-round grind and high pressure that only a handful of similarly situated coaches can relate to and understand. 

While I don’t expect rival coaches to be best friends, Auriemma could have chosen not to respond to that part of the question and simply shared how much respect he has for Staley as a coach. After all, Auriemma is a seasoned coach and well-versed in how to maneuver tough questions from reporters. He knew better.

The framing Auriemma chose, coming from a white coach about a Black woman coach, echoes a familiar pattern for Black people in the workplace. We are subjected to offhanded remarks, and our excellence is treated as a separate rather than shared experience, even when the work, pressure, and stakes that go into achieving success are virtually identical. 

According to Lean In’s 2025 annual report on Women in the Workplace, these unique stressors for Black women in the workplace are taking a toll on our health. The researchers noted that “almost 8 in 10 senior-level Black women have been frequently burned out in the past year, and even more are concerned about their job security– more than other senior leaders.” This, at a time when companies are increasingly seeing diversity and DEI as a liability, and labor data show that Black women are facing higher rates of unemployment when compared to the general population. More than 300,000 Black women became newly unemployed in 2025, a sharp rise.

After demands for Auriemma to apologize reached a fever pitch, on Saturday afternoon, UConn released a statement from Coach Auriemma that read in part, “There’s no excuse for how I handled the end of the game vs. South Carolina. It’s unlike what I do and what our standard is here at Connecticut.” He then offered a broad apology to “the staff and the team at South Carolina,” saying his reaction was “uncalled for.” 

Missing from Auriemma’s apology was any direct mention of Staley, something that a broad cross-section of fans, celebrities, and sports enthusiasts took issue with on social media. Several demanded that he issue another statement and apologize to Staley directly. His statement once again detracts from Staley and her team’s success.

As the late Toni Morrison once explained: 

“The function, the very serious function of racism is distraction. It keeps you from doing your work. It keeps you explaining, over and over again, your reason for being. Somebody says you have no language and you spend twenty years proving that you do. Somebody says your head isn’t shaped properly so you have scientists working on the fact that it is. Somebody says you have no art, so you dredge that up. Somebody says you have no kingdoms, so you dredge that up. None of this is necessary. There will always be one more thing.”

For Geno Auriemma, on Friday night, that “one more thing” was his accusation that Coach Staley missed a pre-game handshake. That unwieldy accusation prompted the press and fans alike to go on the hunt and offer up video footage that might show whether she missed one or both customary pre-game handshakes. On Saturday, that “one more thing” was a lackluster statement from Auriemma when Staley deserved a genuine (and direct) apology.

What this “one more thing” distracted from was the reality that Dawn Staley outcoached him and her team outplayed his. He robbed Staley and her team of the usual celebratory cheers and hugs at the end of a double-digit win. His behavior left no space to give the Gamecocks credit for their win against a team that had gone undefeated for 54 games before South Carolina single-handedly snapped their winning streak and ended their dreams of back-to-back championship wins. 

He also distracted from the usual post-game analysis of what would have surely included data illustrating the Gamecocks were not only better prepared but the better team. The analysis would have included praising the stellar defense played by Gamecocks’ senior Raven Johnson, who is positioned to be a first round pick in the upcoming WNBA draft. 

As the viewership and fan base of women’s basketball continue to expand, and with Morrison’s words in mind, the point is that we should not fall into the habit of litigating every moment or handshake, but to return to what this is really about. 

Sunday, a championship game is happening between the South Carolina Gamecocks and the UCLA Bruins. This game will be coached by two phenomenal women and the players who take the court are all members of number one seeded teams. They are playing at the highest level of a sport that has never been more visible, more competitive or more representative of its fans and this country. 

So, as I sit down and watch the two teams duke it out for a championship ring, I will be keeping focus on where it belongs, on the game, and the people on and off the court who continue to elevate it. Oh, and GOOOOO Gamecocks! 

Now someone please run me one of those “I will beat Geno’s ass” t-shirts. Whether the Gamecocks win or lose, I’m wearing it through next season.

While the arena was packed with fans and a notable list of Black celebrities, the atmosphere was a complex mix of musical nostalgia and the heavy baggage of West’s recent history. Despite the high-production value of the Bully era, the rapper continues to navigate a fractured relationship with the public following years of antisemitic rhetoric, racist outbursts, and a political alignment that many in the Black community found alienating.

The most discussed moment of the evening occurred when the legendary Lauryn Hill emerged through a cloud of smoke. The crowd erupted as Hill launched into “All Falls Down,” a track that famously sampled her 2002 work. For West, appearing alongside an icon like Hill, seemingly serves the purpose of winning back former friends and the support of the Black community. West has frequently compared his new album, Bully, to Hill’s 1998 masterpiece, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, seemingly attempting to align his current era with her legacy of neo-soul specialty.

Hill remained on stage for a significant portion of the set, even bringing out her sons, Zion and YG Marley. While the musical quality was undeniable, some critics argue that these high-profile collaborations are an effort to buy back the grace he lost during his most erratic periods.

The guest list extended to current heavyweights, with Travis Scott joining West to perform “Father,” the lead single from the Bully album. Scott’s involvement, who is often a controversial figure himself, highlights a segment of the industry that remains loyal to West regardless of his former opinions.

The show also featured André Troutman and CeeLo Green, both of whom added to the sense of a unified front. Meanwhile, West’s wife, Bianca Censori, was seen dancing in the VIP section, maintaining the supportive inner circle. However, this does little to address the rightfully earned concerns held by many who feel West’s past comments have caused irreparable harm to his standing as a figure of the Black community.

TMZ also reported that West’s eldest daughter, North, took the stage to rap “Bless Me” and “Piercing on My Hand.” The massive turnout of Black celebrities has also reignited the debate over cancel culture. Comedian Donnell Rawlings recently suggested that the Black community may be more inclined toward forgiveness than white audiences.

As previously reported, the father of four recently issued an apology, specifically to the Jewish community, for his past controversial comments.

“This, for me, as evidenced by the letter, isn’t about reviving my commerciality,” he continued. “This is because these remorseful feelings were so heavy on my heart and weighing on my spirit. I owe a huge apology once again for everything that I said that hurt the Jewish and Black communities in particular. All of it went too far.”

He also detailed the struggle he has had with his mental health and bipolar disorder.

“I feel really blessed to be able to sit here with you today and just take accountability,” Ye said. “I was dealing with some various issues, bipolar, also, so it would take the ideas I had and take them to an extreme where I would forget about the protection of the people around me, or myself.”

On Friday, video clips went viral with a crowd seemingly full of confused and concerned elders watching Trick perform his classic hits like “J.O.D.D.” (“Jump On Da D**k”). While hyping up the crowd at the Step and Stroll Competition, he yelled, “If you want your p***y ate, put your f**king hands up!” This isn’t shocking to anyone familiar with his over-the-top and gritty music. However, as some attendees bagan to walk out, his microphone and music were cut off early.

“Let’s give Trick Daddy a round of applause! We went a little to far,” an unseen woman announced over the sound system. According to a statement from South Atlantic Regional Director of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Tiffany Moore Russell, she was the one who cut the show short after it she claims it violated a previous agreement with Trick Daddy.

“We met several times with him and his team to detail our requirements, including attire, language, and specific songs. Unfortunately, our requirements were ignored,” Russell wrote.

“The language, the lyrics, and the comments made by the artist were not acceptable. I ended the performance because of the disrespect for our organization and our brand,” she continued.

All it takes is a few episodes of Love & Hip-Hop: Miami to know many have tried and failed to tell Trick Daddy what to do. When the organization tried it following the viral backlash, the raunchy restauranteur basically kept the same energy from one of his many Trina collaborations: “Uh-huh. Ok. What’s Up? Shut Up!”

A plant-based powerhouse is ready to step into the Bravosphere and speak truth amid a wave of headlines.

Pinky Cole is joining season 17 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta at a pivotal moment when she’s balancing life as a wife, mom, and CEO while opening up about both her wins and her setbacks.

“If you’re going to do this show, you’ve got to give it everything,” the Slutty Vegan founder told BOSSIP. You’ve got to be open and be an open book.”

That openness includes letting viewers in on one of the most difficult chapters of her journey.

After a company restructure that temporarily cost her ownership of Slutty Vegan, Pinky ultimately bought the brand back, which later came alongside a Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing and mounting financial pressures tied to loans and tax obligations.

She told BOSSIP that at one point, everything was falling apart behind the scenes.

“Here it is, I’m raising $250,000 for people, and my company is falling apart,” she said. “I died on the inside before anybody else went to my funeral.”

Even as recent headlines swirled about creditors seizing her Georgia home and changing the locks, Pinky says she had already done the emotional work.

“Before the world knew what was going on, I suffered in silence,” she said. “So by the time all of the news started to hit the media, I had already begun my healing process.”

And now she is flipping the narrative with a series of skits tied to the negative press she’s received. Her most recent spoofed her getting the keys back to her rental property with a reenactment of the infamous Ms. Parker scene from Friday.

“You going to troll me? I’m going to troll you back,” she told BOSSIP with a laugh.

Still, Pinky is clear-eyed about the reality of public scrutiny.

“Controversy is what sells,” she said. “But at the end of the day, I’ve got a thick skin because I had to suffer alone by myself.”

Season 17 will show that journey in full, including the breakdown of her business and what it took to rebuild it.

“I really go deep into the breakdown in my business,” she said. “Not as a victim, but I am sharing my story so that you can feel empowered and inspired.”

She continued,

“I’m not just an entrepreneur,” she added. “I’m a human being that has highs, that has lows, and people can see that and relate. She’s tangible.”

Beyond the business, #RHOA watchers will also get a closer look at her personal life, including her marriage to Derrick “Big Dave” Hayes, the CEO of Big Dave’s Cheesesteaks CEO whom she wed in 2023.

“He didn’t want to do it in the beginning, if we’re being honest,” she said.

According to Pinky, they went back and forth about putting their lives on display, but she ultimately saw the bigger picture.

“We are Atlanta royalty. Why wouldn’t we utilize this opportunity?” she said.

And when it comes to the fellow housewives, Pinky says the dynamic is exactly what you would expect.

“We got a couple screws loose,” she joked to BOSSIP with a laugh. “Sometimes I’m at the table like, ‘What did I sign up for?’”

Still, beneath the tension, she sees something deeper.

“It feels like a sisterhood, and sisterhood is not always going to be easy.”

She has also found her footing alongside fellow newcomer and her Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. sister K. Michelle, who she also considers a true sister within the cast.

“That’s my sister,” Pinky said. “I don’t think I would have been able to do this without her.”

Their bond extends beyond filming and into real life, offering both support and strategy as they navigate the group together.

At the same time, Pinky is clear about the energy she brings into the space.

“I can’t be tested,” she said. “I know who I am and I know whose I am.”

And at the end of the day, she’s showing up exactly as she is.

“I’m different,” she said. “And I think that’s what this show needed.”

Former fans of TLC have all but demanded that they be removed from the tour they are planning to co-headline with Salt N Pepa and En Vogue. While others have taken to pointing out proof of Chilli’s MAGA values by going through her following list and liked posts.

“She’s taking this all very seriously, and this shouldn’t supercede a legacy that includes the empowerment of black women,” a source close to Chilli told Page Six, “She’s not that person. She really isn’t MAGA. She voted for President Obama twice. There’s no MAGA community around her. She looks at MAGA as [the Jan. 6th insurrectionists].”

People love to dogpile so it remains to be seen how Chilli’s image rehabilitation will work. If patterns are any indication, she’ll be held to a much higher standard than her male counterparts who’ve publicly supported Trump—Kanye, Nelly, Snoop Dogg, to name a few—and will likely always be associated with what people believe to be true rather than the truth itself.

So far, there’s been no announcement about TLC being removed from the “It’s Iconic” tour and the other ladies seem to have rallied behind Chilli despite the controversy. Salt of Salt N Pepa showed her support in a comment under Chilli’s post about the whole ordeal.

“Chilli please keep your pretty head all the way up sister, this world is very quick to believe anything and everything posted on social media,” she said in a comment. “Quick to crucify and slow to forgive. Even when you straighten it out haters will always hate. We know you and your heart.”

While the film, a sequel to the 2020 thriller “Run Hide Fight” titled “Run Hide Fight Infidels,” was intended to be a new start for the embattled actor, it has instead become a pool of labor disputes and safety allegations that threaten to shut down the project entirely.

The primary catalyst for the current turmoil occurred during a high-stakes stunt on the film’s South Carolina set. According to Deadline, Majors and his co-star JC Kilcoyne accidentally tumbled through a window during a scene. The accident was reportedly caused by a serious lapse in safety protocols, as the window had been replaced with an unsecured sheet of tempered glass meant to be shattered in a later stunt. Because the glass was sitting loosely in the frame, it gave way when the actors moved near it, sending both men falling approximately six feet to the ground.

Deadline reported that Kilcoyne required stitches all over his hands following the fall, but reps for Majors have remained silent on the extent of his injuries. The production’s response to the incident was what truly alarmed the crew, with one laborer noting that upon arriving to reset the scene, there was a strange silence regarding the fall and a lack of transparency that suggested a desire to brush the incident under the rug.

This false window incident proved to be the final straw for a crew that had already been raising red flags for five weeks of production. On March 26, the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) officially called a strike against the Daily Wire production. While the union initially sought to secure health and pension contributions for its members, the focus quickly shifted to what they describe as hazardous working conditions that put lives at risk.

Beyond the window fall, crew members reported a laundry list of terrifying incidents that painted a picture of a set in total disarray. Reports surfaced of rigged tree branches striking the set medic and a complete lack of safety meetings regarding complex stunts or the use of firearms, which were reportedly airsoft guns.

Film productions that ignored industry safety standards and concerns led to incidents like Alec Baldwin shooting cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injuring another crew member with a prop gun.

The environment on the Daily Wired set was described as unlike any standard production. One crew member with decades of experience noted that they witnessed no normal production activities, such as the presence of a unit production manager or even an official crew list. The situation became so desperate that workers had to circulate their own unofficial make-shift crew lists just to identify who their colleagues and department heads were.

Furthermore, the production allegedly pushed for the use of a filming location infested with black mold and suspected asbestos, ignoring warnings from contractors about the long-term health effects on the laborers. This perceived negligence fueled the strike, with more than 60% of the crew eventually signing union cards to demand a collective bargaining agreement.

Perhaps most shocking to the industry is the involvement of special effects supervisor Chris Bailey, who previously pleaded guilty to illegal possession of explosives on a movie set, according to Deadline. Despite his criminal record prohibiting him from handling explosive materials, he was tasked with designing pyrotechnics for this film, a move crew members cited as a massive red flag for their personal safety. The response from the film’s producers, including Dallas Sonnier of Bonfire Legend, has been notably defiant. When reached for comment by Deadline regarding the IATSE strike and the safety allegations, the producers simply stated that they “don’t negotiate with communists.”

Seemingly, naysayers may have a point as the actor now finds himself at the center of a production that IATSE is actively discouraging industry professionals from joining due to safety concerns.

As filming reportedly continues with replacement workers in South Carolina, the question remains whether his experiment in independent, right-wing filmmaking is worth his hopeful return to cinema.

He alleged that she did not shake his hand at the start of the game; however, ESPN cameras replayed the team’s introductions and warm greetings, including Dawn’s acknowledgement of Geno.

Dawn did defend herself in her postgame interview and made sure to shutdown Geno’s claims.

“I have no idea. But I’m gonna let you know this: I’m of integrity. I’m of integrity,” Staley said. “So if I did something wrong to Geno — I don’t know what I did. I guess he thought I didn’t shake his hand at the beginning of the game. I didn’t know. I went down there pregame, shook everybody on his staff’s hand. I don’t know what he came with after the game. Sometimes, things get heated. We move on.”

Geno also took shots at Dawn during a broadcast in-game interview where he claimed that Coach Staley was being unprofessional with the refs and that his team was being unfairly officiated while the Gamecocks were being allowed to “beat the s***” out of his players.

“There were six fouls called that quarter – all of them against us. And they’ve been beating the s**t out of our guys down there the entire game. And I’m not making excuses because we haven’t been able to make a shot, but this is ridiculous,” Auriemma said. “Their coach [Staley] rants and raves on the sideline and calls the referees some names you don’t want to hear. And now we get six to zero and I’ve a kid with a ripped jersey, and they go, ‘I didn’t see it.’ C’mon man. This is for the national championship.”

Interesting choice of words to describe the actions of a Black woman head coach, no doubt.

Though all of his claims were debunked by ESPN replays, Coach Auriemma held fast to his theories in the postgame presser and had no remorse for the language he used, his refusal to shake the South Carolina players’ hands after the game or the way he treated his fellow coaching peer.

“For 41 years I’ve been coaching and, I don’t know, 25 Final Fours,” he said. “The protocol is before the game, you meet at halfcourt. Anybody see that before? Two coaches meet at halfcourt and they shake hands, correct? Ever see it? They announce it on the loudspeaker. I waited there for like three minutes. So it is what it is.”

Nonetheless, Dawn and her Gamecocks are vying for their fourth championship. Coach Staley gave her girls an inspiring speech after the game saying,

“I’m proud of y’all, incredible performance. Stay locked in, from a defensive standpoint, it was masterful.”

South Carolina will face UCLA in the National Championship game on Apr. 5 on ESPN.

A recent USA Today report details a lawsuit that perfectly encapsulates the growing, cynical backlash against diversity, equity, and inclusion—an effort that has become a central pillar of the broader political agenda championed by the Trump era. At the center of the controversy is the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF), a longstanding institution created to address systemic inequities in education and leadership opportunities for Black Americans.

The lawsuit was filed by the American Alliance for Equal Rights, an organization led by anti-affirmative action activist Edward Blum. The group claims that a CBCF scholarship program—specifically the CBC Spouses Education Scholarship—illegally discriminates by restricting eligibility to Black students. The plaintiffs, reportedly Asian and Hispanic students affiliated with Blum’s organization, argue they were excluded because of their race, invoking the Civil Rights Act of 1866 as the legal basis for their complaint. 

But this lawsuit doesn’t exist in a vacuum—it’s part of a calculated, relentless campaign to dismantle programs designed to address historic racial inequality. As USA Today outlines, Blum and his allies have spent years targeting DEI initiatives across higher education, corporate America, and nonprofit sectors, especially after the 2023 Supreme Court decision that gutted affirmative action.  What we’re witnessing is not a principled defense of “fairness,” but a strategic rollback of even the most modest efforts to level a deeply uneven playing field.

The scholarship program in question was created precisely because Black students have long faced systemic barriers—underfunded schools, fewer resources, and entrenched inequality. CBCF leaders have emphasized that these scholarships are not just financial aid, but recognition and validation for students historically denied both.  Yet, in today’s political climate, even these targeted remedies are being reframed as discriminatory.

This is where the broader Trump-aligned agenda becomes impossible to ignore. The lawsuit mirrors a wider assault on DEI policies, one that seeks to erase the language of systemic racism while simultaneously preserving its effects. By weaponizing civil rights law—originally intended to protect formerly enslaved people—against programs that support Black students, these efforts twist the very concept of equality into something unrecognizable.

Ultimately, as reported by USA Today, this case is less about fairness and more about power: who gets access, who gets opportunity, and who is once again being told to wait their turn.

When we heard Zendaya was in a new film called, ‘The Drama,’ we wondered if she thought, is this this play about me? Zendaya is more than a movie star, she’s a fashion icon. And when she does press for a movie, she and her longtime bestie, stylist and image architect Law Roach put on a show in the most divine way. Coincidentally, the duo cleverly concocted their own dress code for the promo trail. Drawing inspiration from the theme of the film, in which Zendaya and Robert Patterson play an engaged couple, and her real life (Zendaya and Tom Holland reportedly married in a private ceremony), they gave us “Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.”

Her latest and final ‘something blue” look is a testament to Law’s eye for off-the-runway pieces, Zendaya’s svelte frame that is like a canvas and their trust in one another. It reportedly took the designer Schiaparelli 8,000 Hours and 65,000 feathers to create the fashion moment that left everyone’s mouth agape.

Everything about Zendaya’s look was perfect. No notes. Her hair was sculpted by celebrity hairstylist Ursula Stephens, who drew inspiration from her animalistic gown.

“The dress was so elegant and we didn’t want to do something predictable, so we went with the total opposite- sleek. Wet-ish. Almost edgy but not quite. Like when a bird gets caught in the rain,” she said in an official statement. It’s a look that will live rent-free in our mental archives.

“I’m still a loyal friend. I’m still a ride-or-die,” she told BOSSIP. “But I’m only loyal to those that deserve it. And I am unapologetically me.”

During #RHOA’s “sweet sixteen” season, Shamea burst onto the scene, declaring that she was done “playing the underdog” and was ready to outshine the “best of ’em.”

That shine included opening the doors to her $9M mansion, showing off her singing skills, and sharing her surrogacy story. It also came amid an unfortunate friendship fallout with her longtime best friend, Porsha Williams.

After tension brewed between them throughout the season, the two confirmed at the season 16 reunion that they were no longer in communication, with Williams alleging Morton entered the show with a “scheme and a plan” to sabotage her. That turned into a social media spat littered with warnings and insults.

Speaking with BOSSIP’s Managing Editor, Dani Canada, Shamea said that the entire experience shifted her mindset and taught her to cut the people pleasing and prioritize herself.

“You can’t walk on eggshells, and you can’t protect everyone else’s feelings,” she said. “You’ve got to care about yourself more than everyone else, and that’s what I’m doing this season.”

“I’m speaking up about the things that I like and don’t like. I’m standing on my own two feet, and I’m not brushing things under the rug anymore.”

According to the housewife, she held back to preserve certain relationships, but those days are over.

“Last season I was trying to protect certain people and not really even being me,” she said. “This year, I’m unapologetically me.

“And if you want the smoke, then hi. I’m not a smoker, but I got a fire extinguisher,” she added with a laugh.

Shamea’s growth isn’t just showing up in her friendships. In a rare Housewives move, she previously released a YouTube video titled Dear Sweet 16, where she addressed her castmates by name, owned any hurt caused during her first season, and made it clear she was ready to move forward.

“I’m sorry if I’ve ever offended you… or caused you pain in any way,” she said in the video, adding that she hoped to “start fresh.”

Shamea told BOSSIP that it wasn’t for optics, but for her own peace.

“My mom and dad always taught me, don’t go to bed with things heavy on your heart,” she said. “Don’t carry that negativity because it will weigh on you. The apology is not necessarily for the other person. It’s for you. It’s you giving yourself grace to move on,” she added.

The gesture drew mixed reactions within the group, especially from Drew Sidora who questioned its sincerity. Shamea responded directly with shade.

“She wouldn’t know what performative sounds like because that’s what she does all the time,” she told BOSSIP. “We have yet to meet the real Drew.”

And while one housewife might question Shamea’s intentions, she can depend on fellow housewife Kelli Ferrell to continue being a consistent source of support.

As Shamea put it at BravoCon in November, she lost a friendship [with Porsha Williams] but gained her “biggest blessing.”

“Kelly is really a breath of fresh air,” Shamea told BOSSIP. “We hang out when the cameras aren’t even present. If I’ve got something going on, she’s there. We are family at this point.”

The connection extends beyond filming.

“That friendship is so organic for me. We rarely even talk about the show. We’re just living life,” she added.

Speaking of off-camera, Shamea is also expanding her entrepreneurial reach by working with Grenada-based Clarke’s Court Rum.

“The fact that they would allow me to be a part of it, it’s just a blessing,” she said of the spirits brand.

She’s also weighing in on the season’s two newcomers, Pinky Cole and K. Michelle, who are stepping into the fold and opening themselves up to Bravo’s passionate fanbase, where opinions run strong on everything, including who holds the best vocals in the cast: Shamea, K. Michelle, or Drew Sidora.

“There’s room for everyone,” said Shamea about fans debating about their singing skills. “Everybody’s talented in their own way.”

Ultimately, Shamea hopes that fans will see her renewed sense of self amid the drama, dynamics, and serially shifting friendships of Season 17.

“I don’t really care whose feelings I hurt at this point. I used to always care about people’s feelings before my own, but like T.I. said, ‘Let ’em know!'”

The new season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta premieres Sunday, April 5, on Bravo (8 pm ET/PT) and streams the next day on Peacock.
