Before making the call, the Gamma co-founder highlighted the momentum the label has built, shouting out artists like Loe Shimmy, Maleigh Zan, and Snoop Dogg for helping shape the company’s growing roster.

Jackson also took a moment to thank Program Directors for supporting Kanye’s latest Gamma release, Bully. That’s when he pulled out his phone and called the Chicago rapper live during the session.

Ye thanks Urban One and the radio community for getting behind the project, saying the success of Bully means even more to him than some of the biggest moments of his career.

“I just wanted to thank y’all so much for getting behind this on this journey. These number ones mean even more than the Graduation’s and the Watch the Throne’s, and all the number ones before because, as you know, about a year into the project, I went into an episode.”

Kanye went on to explain that the album’s success represents something much bigger than chart positions. For him, it’s a personal victory after publicly navigating mental health challenges.

“So, this right here is a celebration and a victory, a success story for people who deal with mental health crises, to be able to come out of it and actually have number one records. With all the things that were done, with all the things that were said, and for you guys to be so forgiving and so supportive, it just means the world to me.”

Colby Colb, Senior Vice President of Programming at Radio One, shared his thoughts on Kanye West saying Bully is more meaningful to him than some of his classic albums.

“I find it quite interesting considering all the tremendous success he’s had in his career. He also had a period of darkness, so it kinda makes sense. Anytime you have sustained success, and then it goes away and then it’s like ‘Oh, I did it again,’ and now you’re number one again, that’s pretty cool.”

DJ Envy is letting us in on a (smelly) secret that was probably better left unsaid, explaining how his shower habits changed with the help of his wife, Gia Casey.

This conversation is brought to you by the Tuesday, July 28 episode of The Breakfast Club. On the show, the crew discussed a recent video from Eric Benét, who posted a clip addressing men who believe washing their behinds with soap and water makes them “gay,” saying they are likely closeted. He also advised those men to “wash your a** expeditiously.”

In response to this, DJ Envy admitted that he was once one of those men who didn’t practice proper hygiene. But, with the help of his (very patient) wife, he learned how to properly bathe himself.

“All right, confession confession. I tell too much up here—my wife hates it but it’s all good,” the radio host began. “So yes, I used to be the type of guy that didn’t ‘get up all in there.’ But I never thought about it. It’s not a conversation to have with the fellas at the barber shop when we out and about like, ‘Hey fellas, did you wash your ass?’”

He continued, “One day me and Gia—this [was] a long time ago, you know, we take showers with each other, we wash each other. And one day she got all in there, and I’m like ‘Whoa.’ And then I realized I’m supposed to wash my a** thoroughly and correctly. So ever since that I’m like, ‘I wash my a**.’ But you should get up all in there, you don’t want stinky a**.”

48 year old man, by the way.

After hearing that story, co-host Jess Hilarious teased Envy about his past oversight, asking if his wife had to “detail” his backside to remove “dingleberries and all the butt crust” and asking if his boxers used to be “crunchy at the end of the night.”

That’s when Envy clarified that his briefs “are not crunchy anymore” because that was when he was younger.

“Imagine how long before that happened she was really thinking about like really probably breaking up with you,” Hilarious joked. “That’s probably why she didn’t orgasm either.”

Charlamagne tha God was in disbelief over the whole conversation, adding: “I’ve never in my life heard this nonsense that y’all are speaking this morning…What’s the difference between washing your a** and masturbating?” he said. “If y’all think washing your a** is gay, what do y’all think masturbation [is]?”

Charlamagne went on to indulge us by detailing his own hygiene routine, which involves using three separate washcloths for his body, face, and private areas.

The conversation kicked off with Kelli looking back at her fiery showdown with Porsha Williams that nearly turned physical earlier this season.

Fans will remember the now-infamous dinner where the two Housewives traded explosive accusations. Kelli accused Porsha of sleeping with “every Nigerian in Atlanta,” prompting Porsha to fire back by claiming Kelli had “f–ked everybody,” including a “married a** man” she alleged was a married preacher.

Carlos praised Kelli for standing her ground during the heated exchange, and Kelli made it clear she’s never been one to back down.

“It’s never been a scary bone in my body. And you will know that. I don’t give a f__k. I’m going to say exactly what I want to say and I’mma say exactly how the f__k I feel at all costs with anybody.”

She added:

“Yes, we’ll fight. I’ll pick up a f__king chair if I need to, but that’s just what it is. You can’t think that you can say what you want to say to me and I’m not going to say something back to you.”

From there, Kelli shifted the conversation from the drama to her lifestyle, insisting that viewers are only now getting a glimpse into the “fabulous” life she’s always lived.

“I have been fabulous my whole life. I was the f__king line leader in kindergarten. Okay. I was wearing Manolo Blahnicks in high school. Dolce & Gabbana in high school…I have always been that f_king girl. I had reindeers at Christmas…. Like, listen, this has always been my life.”

She continued:

“I’m just now starting to film it and show the world. And y’all coming down on the f__king roofing of my life… But when it comes to my life, you better scroll back on Instagram and see.”

Kelli also dismissed the idea that she joined #RHOA hoping to emulate any of the women already on the cast. According to her, she had already achieved everything she wanted long before Bravo came calling. She believes she set the standard for the glitz and glam the ladies now have on the show.

“It’s nothing that they had that I wanted. I’ve already had it all. I’ve had the life. I didn’t need their lives,” she told King boldly. “I mean, if you look at it, I came in my first season and really set the standard for a lot of these ladies. I mean, when it comes to fashion, when it comes to content, they weren’t doing content in Season 16. Nobody had their own videographer and photographer. Elliot and I have been working together for eight years.”

Kelli proudly continued:

“Prior to me even filming, when it came to events, I always did events. You can look back on my page. I didn’t host an event at William Sonoma because of being on this show. No, I’ve hosted several events with William Sonoma prior to being on the show. When it comes to Balman, I hosted a birthday party in Balman. Shut down the store. These women couldn’t do that because they really don’t shop in the stores.”

She added:

“When it came to police escorts, I’ve always had a police escort. Like security. I mean, these things for me, it’s just like this is a joke for me. I just feel like maybe they don’t want to give me my flowers, but I set a lot of standards for these ladies.”

Kelli even claimed her arrival on the show elevated everyone’s style game, saying she helped some of the women connect with stylists.

“They needed it… And I love that for them. They should. You should be spending the money. Y’all make enough. You should be. You should be reinvesting in yourselves and your careers.”

Kelli wants Marlo and Kenya back.

While discussing former Housewives, Kelli gave Marlo Hampton her flowers for the unforgettable event she threw in Phipps Plaza in Season 4 and called Marlo both “fabulous” and “real.” She also admitted she’d love to see Kenya Moore make her return to the franchise.

Although Kelli entered the show as a friend of Brittany Eady, she revealed she had developed a genuine friendship with Kenya Moore before the veteran Housewife’s exit.

“And let me just tell you this because I know everybody’s like, ‘Ah, you’re friends with Brit.’ Listen, at the end of the day, yes, I was friends with her, but I was truly creating a friendship with Kenya. And me and Kenya had a real connection in regards to truly getting to know each other and having so many things in common.”

She continued by explaining exactly why she respects Kenya.

“I look at Kenya as a big sister. I think that she is smart. I think that she is talented. I think that she’s an amazing mom. And I think she’s a great entrepreneur. No matter where she is now, what I love about her is she did what she wanted to do. And nothing beats a failure but a try, right? And that’s one thing that I admire about her. She was never a negative person in regards to me just coming in and just like putting that big wing out and saying, ‘Hey you might want to do this. You might want to do that. You might want to keep it real. Keep it honest.’ You know, like just truly being genuine and being a genuine person. And that’s what I like about Kenya. I would love for her to be back.”

Fresh off celebrating the next chapter of the Black Panther franchise, the Oscar-winning actor also reminds everyone that he’s got another major blockbuster on the way. Jordan officially unveiled the first trailer for The Thomas Crown Affair, a deliciously dapper new heist thriller that he not only stars in, but also directs and produces.

The trailer arrives just days after Marvel fans were sent into a frenzy when Ryan Coogler announced at San Diego Comic-Con that British actor David Jonsson will take over the Black Panther mantle as T’Challa II in Black Panther 3.

According to Entertainment Tonight, instead of keeping quiet about the casting, Jordan shared that he’s fully on board.

“I love it. It’s amazing. I can’t wait,” Jordan told the outlet when asked about Jonsson stepping into the iconic role. 

Jordan’s approval carries extra weight considering his history with the franchise. He starred opposite the late Chadwick Boseman as Erik Killmonger in 2018’s Black Panther before making a surprise return in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. While his villain may not be returning anytime soon, Jordan clearly has love for the expanding Wakandan family.

As fans continue processing Marvel’s latest casting news, Jordan is shifting the spotlight toward his own passion project.

Amazon MGM Studios officially released the first trailer for The Thomas Crown Affair, which arrives exclusively in theaters on March 5, 2027.

According to Variety, Jordan wanted more than a traditional remake of the classic film.

“I didn’t want a reboot. I wanted a reimagination,” Jordan previously explained.

He added that his version raises the emotional stakes while keeping the fashion, romance, and intrigue that made previous adaptations so memorable.

Jordan stars as billionaire art thief Thomas Crown opposite Adria Arjona — who plays the determined investigator tracking him down. Kenneth Branagh joins the cast as a powerful antagonist, while Lily Gladstone, Danai Gurira and Pilou Asbæk round out an impressive ensemble. Amazon MGM Studios reports that Grammy Award winner Jon Batiste also composed the film’s original score. 

The trailer teases plenty of luxury, romance and globe-trotting action, but Jordan’s version comes with a modern twist. Rather than stealing priceless artwork for the thrill of it, his Thomas Crown appears determined to return valuable artifacts to their rightful owners. This adds a fresh layer of purpose to the iconic character.

Whether he’s passing the torch to the next generation of Wakandans or leading a major Hollywood production behind the camera, Michael B. The fight for answers in the suspicious death of Nolan Wells has entered a new phase, with his mother, Christine Wells-Wonsley, casting an even wider net in search of the truth.

According to TMZ reporting, Wells-Wonsley has filed subpoenas seeking records from several major tech companies, including Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Snapchat, TikTok and Life360, hoping the digital trail left behind by her late son will help answer questions that investigators still haven’t resolved. The requests reportedly seek everything from current and previous usernames, email addresses and phone numbers to login IP addresses, password reset activity and metadata tied to Nolan’s accounts. 

The subpoenas also demand copies of posts, stories, direct messages, chats, photos, videos, GPS information, friend lists and any other stored account data. TMZ says the requests extend to information that could identify people who communicated with Nolan through the various platforms. 

One detail stands out in particular. During her own efforts to retrace Nolan’s final movements, Christine reportedly compared location information from Life360 with Snapchat data and found the timelines didn’t match, raising even more questions about what happened before the 18-year-old was found dead after disappearing during a Fourth of July trip to Mississippi’s Horn Island. 

BOSSIP has been following this heartbreaking case from the beginning, and it’s clear Nolan’s family isn’t going to accept unanswered questions or rest on the laurels of the law enforcement. With an independent investigation already underway, these subpoenas signal that Nolan Wells’ family is determined to examine every digital breadcrumb possible. Whether the social media giants hand over information that fills in the blanks remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: the deceased teenager’s loved ones are leaving no stone unturned in their relentless pursuit of answers.

Ms. Wells-Wonsley recently posted a video to Tik Tok expressing her and her family’s emotional state saying, “This grief is just different.”

“I miss hearing him say, ‘I love you, Mom.’ I just miss all of those things. And I know that we will not have that again. I will not be able to hear those words. I will not be able to put my arms around him. Like, I know that. And we’re just trying to make it through.”

Then, the grieving mother begged “strangers” (see, white people) to stop sending hateful messages to her on social media.

“Me and my family, we don’t owe anybody anything. The only thing we did initially, we just asked a question. We just asked a question. We asked, ‘What happened to Nolan?’ That’s it. That’s the question we asked and everyone went crazy.”

While speaking to the camera, Cardi responded to rumors that she recently got surgery achieve her slimmed down figure, which fans noticed during a recent performance at New York City’s Pacha nightclub and a video accompanying her upcoming single.

“I’m also tired of you hating ass b****es,” Cardi began near the 6:44 mark in the recording of her IG Live. “Why every single time that I look snatched up and I look fucking good, y’all always want to be f***ing shady like, ‘Oh, she got another surgery’ … B****h, I post every week.”

She went on to explain that she wouldn’t have had any time to go under the knife since she regularly posts content to her social media accounts, including recent trips to Paris, London, and Venice .

“When have y’all ever seen me have time off to get surgery? I’m very honest about surgery. I’m very very honest,” she said, going on to add that she previously underwent two liposuction procedures and a buttocks reduction.

While insisting that she’s “naturally petite,” Cardi explained multiple reasons why she’s able to lose weight quickly despite having given birth to four children.

“After I gave birth to my son this year, I lost weight easy. You want to know why? Cuz I went on tour. There was some cities that I ain’t going to front, the food was straight caca. It was straight shit. I wouldn’t even eat like that. I will eat a f***ing salad,” she said. “No lie, when I was on tour, I wouldn’t eat after 5:00 p.m. because if I was to eat anything while I’m performing, I could feel myself about to throw up … And when I get off the stage, my adrenaline be so high that sometimes I wouldn’t even be hungry.”

“And then I went through a breakup. Ladies, shall I say more?” Cardi added, likely referring to her split from Stefon Diggs.

Beyond prior surgery, Cardi let viewers in on some of her actual habits, including drinking fiber supplements, being consistent with her water intake, and eating light for two days ahead of any event she’s attending.

“I’m not sitting down for four months, b***h. I’m outside,” she said elsewhere in the stream. “Like I said, I like my body how it looks right now. I’m comfortable in my skin. Y’all acting like y’all new to this. Y’all been seeing my body for how many years now? Too many.”

In a clip shared with People, the Spider-Man star can be seen dodging a question from one of the New York City students about his relationship status.

“Are you married?” Victor, one of the students featured in the clip, asks Tom.

“Uh, that is a very important question,” Holland responds, clearly flustered. “I am…You guys obviously haven’t been media trained like the publicists that I speak with.”

During a solo interview, Victor presented his theory to the camera, saying the actor is “definitely married. I don’t know why he avoided my question.”

The actor went on to answer a question from a student named Kayson, who asks if Holland takes his wife Zendaya “to a date.”

“Yeah, all the time,” Holland responds. “My favorite thing to do.”

Despite doing their best to keep their private lives out of the public eye, Holland confirmed in a June interview with Esquire that he and the Emmy winner were married. Her longtime stylist, Law Roach, was the one who initially made the big reveal, announcing in March that their “wedding has already happened. You missed it.”

Both actors appear this summer in The Odyssey and Spider-Man: Brand New Day. They originally met while filming 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, and this next installment will be their fourth Spider-Man film together.

The Children of Blood and Bone trailer opens with Lashana Lynch as Jumoke, Zélie’s mother, kneeling before a younger version of her daughter in the desert.

“My daughter, you must not be afraid,” Lynch’s voice tells Zelie. “Orïsha was once a land where magic flowed through our people. You were born with a gift greater than you know, but those who feared our power took it away from us.”

From there, the trailer introduces the sweeping fantasy world of Orïsha, where Zélie embarks on a dangerous mission to reclaim the magic stolen from her people. Alongside her brother, she forms an unlikely alliance with the son and daughter of the king, played by Chiwetel Ejiofor, as they rise against his oppressive rule.

Set to Beyoncé’s “Energy (feat. Beam),” the Children of Blood and Bone trailer teases massive battles fueled by swords, supernatural powers, and ancient magic. The footage also offers a closer look at the kingdom’s powerful Maji clans, including the Omi Clan, whose members command water, and the Ikú Clan, masters of life and death. Omi Tiders unleash towering waves, while Ikù Reapers, including Zélie’s mother, possess the ability to summon souls.

The trailer also introduces Viola Davis as Mama Agba, who reminds Zélie of the destiny she was born to fulfill.

“I know you miss her,” Viola Davis’ Mama Agba tells Zelie about her mother. “Your powers may be gone, but that does not change who you are. For years I have trained you because I believe you are the one. You can bring magic back.”

Throughout the footage, audiences catch glimpses of the Omi Clan’s coastal village, a striking pink river, and mystical purple crystal-like formations that appear to amplify Zélie’s growing abilities, hinting at the scale of magic that awaits in Children of Blood and Bone.

Gina Prince-Bythewood revealed that she twice turned down the opportunity to direct Children of Blood and Bone.

Prince-Bythewood recently revealed that collaborating directly with Adeyemi on the screenplay became one of the adaptation’s greatest strengths.

“I spoke to her about my vision of how I wanted to approach it, of bringing all of us into this incredible fantasy world to allow all of us to see ourselves reflected beautifully and heroically,” the Love & Basketball director told Essence during an interview published July 16. “It was from that moment that we were completely aligned on vision.”

Before taking on Children of Blood and Bone, Prince-Bythewood admitted she initially passed on the opportunity twice before finally deciding the time was right to bring Orïsha to life.

“I don’t know. I think one time I was doing The Woman King and the other time I think I just wasn’t ready,” she explained. “But I guess ‘the third time is a charm,’ as they say. And this time when I read the book, I just felt so connected to this young hero’s struggle to find her purpose, and so inspired by her courage and her resilience and her fight. And I started to see the film and when that happens, I know I have to make it. After The Old Guard and The Woman King, I knew how to make it. I think that was a big part of it as well. This is a huge epic fantasy with a beautiful cultural specificity, and it was a gift, and I am so grateful that I got to be the one to bring this incredible world to life.”

Federal authorities are charged with protecting the public, but a Secret Service agent recently abandoned that duty to take part in a fraternity hazing ritual so brutal that prosecutors say it nearly turned deadly for men who wanted to become members of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

According to NBC News, 29-year-old Marquez Christopher Pinder, a Secret Service agent assigned to the agency’s Miami field office, has been charged alongside two other men in connection with what investigators describe as a series of savage fraternity hazing beatings involving canes and paddles. The men are facing felony charges including hazing with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery causing great bodily harm, and attempted manslaughter after two prospective members allegedly suffered life-threatening injuries.

Police say the violent fraternity ritual unfolded over four nights in early April during the pledging process for the University of Miami Coral Gables chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi. Court documents allege the victims were repeatedly struck after failing to correctly answer questions about the fraternity’s history. By the fourth night, one pledge was so badly injured that he reportedly had blood soaking through his pants, but the beatings didn’t stop until fraternity leaders allegedly ordered the alleged victims to remove their blood-stained clothes, place them in garbage bags, and go home.

The school issued a public statement making it very clear that this state agent is not part of their tribe.

“The agent, Marquez Christopher Pinder is in no way affiliated with the University of Miami or the University’s undergraduate chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi,” according to a university statement.

The aftermath was nothing short of horrifying. One victim reportedly suffered severe wounds that required skin grafts and sustained kidney damage so serious that investigators said he would have gone into fatal renal failure without emergency medical treatment. Another victim was hospitalized and intubated to keep him alive after suffering similarly devastating injuries, according to arrest records.

The Secret Service has placed Pinder on administrative leave while the criminal case moves forward, saying it is cooperating with investigators and will address any misconduct after the judicial process concludes. Pinder, who joined the agency in 2023, was released after posting a $75,000 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned in September. His attorney had not publicly commented on the allegations at the time of reporting.

This case is another grim reminder that so-called “tradition” can quickly become criminal violence. Florida strengthened its anti-hazing laws after previous fraternity deaths, but prosecutors say incidents like this prove that some organizations still haven’t learned that brotherhood should never come at the cost of someone’s life.

“We hadn’t started a search yet,” Feige explained during an interview with Empire.

“Ryan was working on Sinners, and when Ryan works on a project he’s all in. So the presumption very much was we would sit with him after Sinners came out, after the Academy campaign. We were waiting ’til after the Academy Awards to sit with Ryan and begin that process.”

“A month and a half or so before that process, he called me and said, ‘I found him.’ I said, ‘What do you mean?’ He goes, ‘I found him. He’s this guy, David Jonsson,'” Feige continued.

“He mentioned his movies. I had seen some of them. I watched more. He goes, ‘I’m going to meet him.’ He had a secret meeting with him under cloak of darkness in a hotel somewhere, and called me afterwards and said, ‘He’s the guy, he’s the guy, I felt it. I felt it in my soul. He’s a good man, and he is the next Black Panther.’ And I got chills, and I got a little welled-up and said, ‘Let’s do it.’ So we’ve been sitting on this secret for a good five or six months.”

Now that it has been confirmed that British actor David Jonsson will step into the role of T’Challa’s son in the upcoming Black Panther 3 film, more details are emerging about how the Industry star landed the coveted role. According to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, Black Panther director Ryan Coogler met with Jonsson in a “secret meeting” before quickly realizing he was the perfect fit to lead the franchise.

“We hadn’t started a search yet,” Feige explained during an interview with Empire published July 26. “Ryan was working on ‘Sinners,’ and when Ryan works on a project he’s all in. So the presumption very much was we would sit with him after ‘Sinners’ came out, after the Academy campaign. We were waiting ’til after the Academy Awards to sit with Ryan and begin that process.”

David Jonsson set to play T’Challa’s son in Black Panther 3: How did it happen? Here’s what Marvel boss Kevin Feige revealed.

Feige said that after the meeting, Coogler knew almost immediately that Jonsson was the right person to carry on the legacy of T’Challa, the iconic hero originally portrayed by the late Chadwick Boseman, for Black Panther 3.

“A month and a half or so before that process, he called me and said, ‘I found him.’ I said, ‘What do you mean?’ He goes, ‘I found him. He’s this guy, David Jonsson,'” Feige continued. “He mentioned his movies. I had seen some of them. I watched more. He goes, ‘I’m going to meet him.’ He had a secret meeting with him under cloak of darkness in a hotel somewhere, and called me afterwards and said, ‘He’s the guy, he’s the guy, I felt it. I felt it in my soul. He’s a good man, and he is the next Black Panther.’ And I got chills, and I got a little welled-up and said, ‘Let’s do it.’ So we’ve been sitting on this secret for a good five or six months.”

Winston Duke said he has complete “trust” in David Jonsson to carry on T’Challa’s namesake.

As previously reported on July 25, Coogler officially announced at San Diego Comic-Con that Jonsson would take on the role of Prince T’Challa II, the son and namesake of Boseman’s beloved hero. Boseman died of colon cancer in 2020, but the franchise will continue to honor his legacy through its returning cast.

Letitia Wright and Winston Duke are both set to return for the new chapter, which follows Prince T’Challa II as he comes of age and takes up the Black Panther mantle. Duke recently shared his excitement about Jonsson joining the franchise, telling Variety:

“I trust him as an artist. I also trust the people who chose him.”

Duke continued:

“I trust Ryan [Coogler]. I trust the entire MCU executive team. I think it’s going to be great.”

Black Panther marked Duke’s feature film debut, and he said he hopes to give Jonsson the same warm welcome he received when he first joined the Marvel family.

“How I was greeted and received into this world – which was with a lot of grace, being told it’s a safe space to work, to play — that’s what I wanted to extend to him,” he said. “I don’t have any advice. I know what I have to do with him, which is to play with him. I have to trust him. I have to give him the same grace that was extended to me.”

During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he also called Jonsson “a wonderful young man.”

Letitia Wright called the exciting Black Panther 3 casting “beautiful.”

Wright also shared her excitement over the casting. While speaking with Entertainment Weekly‘s Gerrad Hall at the EW Comic-Con studio, the actress called the news “beautiful,” saying she was thrilled to see such an opportunity come to “a special person with a good heart.”

“The news was really beautiful to hear because I have a personal connection to David,” Wright, who plays T’Challa’s sister, Princess Shuri, explained. “To see the full circle of that today, I’m still living in it. We’re both still checking in with each other about it.”

Wright added:

“She now has that mantle to pass on, and [that] guidance and the wisdom. I’m going to have a really, really good time, a lot of fun — and I’m going to pick on him so much.”

After the news was announced, David Jonsson grew visibly emotional as fans erupted in cheers during Marvel Studios’ Hall H panel at Comic-Con this weekend.

“I want to say thank you so much. Thank you, Ryan. Thank you, [Kevin Feige]. According to Marc Lamont Hill, who recently interviewed the president of the newly formed Indiana Southwest Christian University (ISCU), Dr. Jaquel Pitts admitted that he independently decided to award Bryant a doctorate in psychology—even though the school doesn’t actually offer doctoral psychology programs.

Hill said he walked away from the conversation with the impression that Pitts not only created the degree, but also shared the news with multiple media outlets, helping spark headlines and interview requests in the process.

Naturally, social media wasted no time pointing fingers at Bryant, with many accusing her of orchestrating the entire thing. But representatives for Bryant insist she had absolutely nothing to do with it.

Her team says she doesn’t personally know Pitts, never asked for a doctorate, and has yet to receive any diploma or official paperwork. They also claim Bryant learned about the announcement at the same time the public did.

As for the photo of Bryant and Pitts that’s been circulating online? Her camp says it was taken years ago after they attended the same event, where Pitts reportedly asked for a picture.

After taking a closer look at Pitts’ social media pages, Hill noted that the university president appears to regularly pose with celebrities and public figures.

By the end of his investigation, Hill suggested Bryant may have been an innocent bystander in a controversy that quickly spiraled out of control.

“Dr. Cheyenne Bryant may have had no involvement in this situation at all,” Hill concluded, while Bryant’s representatives continue to maintain that she never knew a degree was being issued in her name.

The Cease-And-Desist Drama Isn’t Going Anywhere

Of course, this latest twist comes after a wild weekend in the ongoing Cheyenne Bryant saga.

As BOSSIP previously reported, Pastor Jamal Bryant revealed that he received a cease-and-desist letter from Cheyenne Bryant herself after publicly apologizing for platforming her amid growing questions about her credentials.

The New Birth Missionary Baptist Church pastor claimed the letter wasn’t sent by an attorney but was signed and delivered by Bryant personally—and allegedly ended with the ominous warning, “govern yourself accordingly.”

“Over a month ago, I came to you and apologized for platforming Dr. Cheyenne Bryant,” Jamal Bryant said in an Instagram video. “I felt I had a responsibility considering that my sister is the former president of the American Psychological Association, one of the youngest to ever hold that position.”

He continued, “Not soon after that, I received an email, a cease-and-desist not to mention her name or to speak to the controversy. Not from anyone who was barred, it was from Cheyenne Bryant herself.”

According to Pastor Bryant, he initially chose to stay quiet.

“I said, ‘I’m gone walk away, I do not want to be a part of Black on Black crime.’ So, I let it go. Never addressed it. Never mentioned it again. Until yesterday.”

The University President Adds Another Layer To The Story

Things took another unexpected turn when Pastor Bryant revealed he’d received an email from Dr. Jaquel Pitts, who identified himself as the president of Indiana Southwest Christian University.

Pitts reportedly defended Bryant’s Ph.D. thesis in “theocentric psychology” but said he could not provide transcripts because of FERPA privacy laws.

Then came Marc Lamont Hill’s interview, which only made things stranger.

During the conversation, Pitts revealed that Indiana Southwest Christian University has only existed since May 2026 and explained that he personally decided to award Bryant a Doctor of Psychology degree because he wanted to affirm what she had already been publicly claiming.

“So, for this particular case, we decided to offer a doctor of psychology degree,” Pitts explained. “This is a very profound case, just to give some background on why I made this decision; this has been a talked-about matter for a consecutive amount of years.”

He continued, “I took the initiative upon myself because she has two honorary doctorate degrees; I took the initiative to give her an earned doctorate degree. In her interviews that she possesses online, she says, ‘I’m a doctor of psychology,’ so that was the primary reason that the degree was called the Doctor of Psychology because I wanted to validate her self-fulfilled prophecy.”

Pitts added, “Also there are individuals who doubted the validity of her degree so I said, ‘Ok, you know what? I’m gonna step up and I’ll grant her a degree,’ and now there’s proof that she actually has a degree.”

At this point, the internet has more questions than answers. But if Bryant’s camp is telling the truth, she may have spent the last several days taking heat for a degree she never asked for, never received, and didn’t even know existed.
