A recent Capital B News report examines how Atlanta’s controversial Atlanta Public Safety Training Center, contemptuously known by locals as “Cop City”, has evolved into what critics are describing as a large-scale experiment in AI-powered policing concentrated in a majority-Black community. The report argues that the project is not only reshaping the physical environment around the South River Forest, but also expanding one of the most extensive police surveillance systems in the country.

Brian “Scapegoat Jones” Page grew up in the area and says that he now feels uneasy about the dramatic increase in surveillance surrounding his neighborhood. Page describes driving past police vehicles and AI-enabled cameras that monitor activity throughout the area. What was once a place associated with nature, recreation, and community has become a heavily monitored territory.

“I hope that [the training center and surveillance system] doesn’t change the vibe of the people in that area,” Page said.

But, he has a feeling that it might. “Just knowing the history of this country [and] the history of profiling. I do have concerns and questions about how this AI [is being used],” he said. “I don’t trust them to have the information or collect it. I can’t understand the purpose of it.”

Cop City sits on 85 acres of land that was once part of Atlanta’s South River Forest, an area long valued by residents for its trails and green space. Environmental advocates say that replacing forest land with pavement, buildings, and tactical training facilities will worsen flooding, sewage overflow, and extreme heat in nearby Black neighborhoods already burdened by environmental inequality. Researchers say Atlanta has been losing tree canopy rapidly for years, with removal significantly outpacing replanting.

The report also highlights concerns about Atlanta’s broader surveillance infrastructure. The city is said to have access to more than 60,000 interconnected public and private cameras, including license plate readers and AI-assisted monitoring tools. Critics fear the integration of Cop City into that network will intensify digital surveillance in Black communities and further normalize predictive and data-driven policing practices.

“The surveillance system, the environmental issues, and the gentrification of Atlanta go hand in hand,” said Atlanta community organizer Kamau Franklin. “The focus and money poured into specialized police units and cameras feels far outstripped by anything invested in housing, green space, or jobs.”

Atlanta residents have long decided that they want no parts of this experiment in technology and policing and unfortnately, the powers that be are completely ignoring their cry. This is why you should vote.

On the Wednesday, May 20 episode of her podcast, Khloé in Wonder Land, the reality star revealed that she went to a birthday party with her best friend Malika Haqq, and the first person she saw was her ex, French Montana.

“I had so much fun. We went to dinner first, and the dinner was actually so much fun,” Kardashian explained.

After that, they continued the night with a party at a private venue, which is where she saw her ex-boyfriend.

“The first person I run into is French. I was like, ‘Hi!’ He was like, ‘What are you doing?’ I was like, ‘What are you doing here?'”

Khloé admitted it was “so nice” to see the “No Stylist” rapper, whom she briefly dated in 2014.

“We’re fine,” she said, going on to add that they talked for “like a second… [I] barely saw him.”

A more recent ex, Tristan Thompson–with whom she shares daughter True, 8, and son Tatum, 3–“was there too,” according to Khloé.

“I saw so many people that I haven’t seen in so long,” Kardashian said of the outing. “You think you miss so much by not going to these things, like, ‘oh, I haven’t been out literally in months, I haven’t gone to a party like that…’ And then you go out, you’re like, I’m not missing a thing.”

She continued, “We had so much fun, but doing what? Like I was sitting in a booth talking the whole time.”

It’s no surprise that Kardashian’s encounter with French Montana was fairly normal, since their romance was not only a long time ago, but also short lived. Their relationship lasted for a little less than a year in 2014, and at the time of their split, a source told People that the rapper simply “wasn’t the perfect fit for her.”

Over the years, however, they’ve always remained friends. Back in 2019, during an interview with Haute Living, Montana said he and Kardashian had a “real dope relationship”

“There was no bad blood, nobody did something to somebody that we couldn’t come back from,” he said. “When the love was like that, it’s always going to be like that. Friendship after a relationship is something that’s real hard to do, and I’m glad we’ve been able to do it.”

Fans have been waiting for Chloë to get a role this substantial and this tonally different from anything she has done before. Lynn Whitfield brings her decades of commanding screen presence to what promises to be one of the more chilling supporting performances of the year. Lucien Laviscount — who built a whole new international fanbase through Emily in Paris, — steps into a role that sounds like it is going to use his charm in very specific and very unsettling ways. Anna Diop — who horror audiences already know and trust from Nope — is also joining this talented cast. And Coco Jones rounds out a cast that — on paper alone — is one of the strongest assembled for a thriller in recent memory.

The production pedigree behind this film is equally impressive. Perry and Blum producing together is a collaboration that makes complete sense creatively — even if it is not one you might have predicted. With Perry’s storytelling instincts and Blum’s genre expertise combining under Malcolm D. Lee’s direction, this is poised to be an exciting and masterful watch. Lee is best known for comedies like the Girls Trip and Barbershop franchises, which makes his pivot to psychological thriller genuinely interesting to watch unfold.

“The state that is working to erase your grandmother’s congressional district is the same state whose governor will stand on the field and celebrate your touchdown or game-winning shot,” Tylik McMillan, national director of the NAACP’s youth and college division, said in a statement. “We are asking young people – recruits, current athletes, fans – to see that connection clearly and to act on it. The Out of Bounds campaign is about redirecting what has always been ours, power and perseverance.”

NAACP president Derrick Johnson argued that Black athletes have become the economic backbone of many elite college football and basketball programs, generating billions through television contracts, ticket sales and merchandising while Black communities simultaneously face political disenfranchisement. Johnson said athletes should not continue enriching institutions connected to states accused of diminishing Black voting power.  

“What these states have done is not a policy disagreement. It is a sprint to erase Black political power,” Derrick Johnson, president & CEO of the NAACP, said in a statement. “The NAACP will not watch the same institutions that depend on Black athletic prowess to fill their stadiums and their bank accounts remain silent while their states strip Black communities of their voice.”

The campaign asks prospective athletes and their families to avoid committing to universities in those states, while also encouraging current players to use their public platforms to advocate for fair voting maps. Supporters are also being urged to redirect donations and financial support away from major athletic programs and toward historically Black colleges and universities, or HBCUs.  

The boycott effort follows the recent Supreme Court case Louisiana v. Callais, which critics say weakened key protections of the Voting Rights Act and opened the door for Republican-led legislatures to redraw congressional maps in ways that reduce Black representation. Civil rights groups across the South have responded with protests, organizing campaigns and calls for economic pressure.

“I feel like what I do is a little bit comparable to Bruno Mars, in that there is never going to be another Bruno Mars,” said Kemp in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

“I don’t think people understand why Power works. They saw it from the outside and went, ‘Oh, that’s a drug show.’ But it’s not really a drug show. It’s a Shakespearean drama about morality, and everybody’s in modern times; they’re saying the N-word a lot. I’m glad nobody has figured out my formula,” she continued.

“If someone were to come along and be like, ‘I’m the new Bruno Mars,’ they would never be the new Bruno Mars. Whether you like him or not, you gotta respect the game. The man knows what he’s doing, and he can be whatever he wants to be at any given time. And that’s what I’m doing.”

The Bronx-born superstar leads the nominations for the 2026 BET Awards with six nods, including Best Female Hip-Hop Artist, Album of the Year for her sophomore album Am I The Drama?, and the newly introduced Fashion Vanguard Award.

According to Billboard, the Fashion Vanguard Award recognizes global figures whose “fashion presence has had long-standing cultural impact, has significantly influenced style narratives, and continues to elevate fashion as a form of storytelling across music, film, sports and public life.” 

It’s a fitting accolade for the mother of three. Cardi has made major fashion headlines throughout 2026, mainly for her stunning fashion collabs with heavy hitters like Marc Jacobs and Fashion Nova. This month, the Grammy-winner signed a major deal with luxury resale platform FASHIONPHILE, becoming the brand’s trusted Global Brand Ambassador.

Cardi B has had a busy year.

Her BET Awards dominance follows the massive success of her Little Miss Drama Tour, which kicked off in February and wrapped on April 18. The tour grossed an impressive $70 million while selling out all 35 North American arena dates, officially becoming the highest-grossing debut arena tour by a female rapper in history.

Am I The Drama? also proved to be another career-defining moment for the rapper. Despite fans waiting seven years for the project, the album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and quickly earned double platinum certification following its release. With the achievement, Cardi became the first female rapper in history to have her first two studio albums debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Her debut album, Invasion of Privacy, first accomplished the feat in 2018.

Kendrick Lamar and Mariah the Scientist follow with 5 nominations for the 2026 BET Awards.

Kendrick Lamar and Mariah the Scientist follow closely behind Cardi with five nominations each this year. Lamar earned nominations in major categories including Best Male Hip-Hop Artist and Best Collaboration for “Chains & Whips” alongside the Clipse, while Mariah the Scientist secured nods for Best Female R&B/Pop Artist and Video of the Year.

Both artists have had a busy year so far. Mariah the Scientist was recognized during the Billboard Women in Music event on April 29 where she received the Rising Star Award. In February, Kendrick Lamar won five Grammys, earning major wins for Record of the Year and Best Melodic Rap Performance for his hit collaboration “Luther” with SZA. The victories brought his career total to 27 Grammys, allowing him to surpass Jay-Z and to become the most-awarded rapper in Grammy history.

Michael B. Jordan, Latto and Teyana Taylor have also earned 2026 BET Award nominations.

Other major 2026 BET Award nominees include Doja Cat, Olivia Dean, and Latto, each earning four nominations. Meanwhile, Bruno Mars, Bryson Tiller, Chris Brown, Jill Scott, Metro Boomin, Tasha Cobbs Leonard, T.I., and YK Niece each secured three nominations.

In film categories, Michael B. Jordan, Teyana Taylor, and Delroy Lindo earned recognition for their performances in Sinners and One Battle After Another, both of which are nominated for Best Movie. Jordan and Lindo received Best Actor nominations, while Taylor earned a nod for Best Actress.

This year’s ceremony will also introduce another new category, The Pulse Award.

“The Pulse Award recognizes a creator, campaign or content series that most powerfully moved Black culture forward in digital spaces by sparking conversation, building community and defining the moment online,” Billboard noted. 

Nominees for the category include 85 South Show, Baby, This Is Keke Palmer, Charlamagne Tha God, Don Lemon, Druski, It Is What It Is, Joe and Jada, On the Radar, and R&B Money Podcast.

“All of our nominees represent the very best of Black culture across music, film, sports, and beyond, and with the introduction of the Fashion Vanguard Award and the Pulse Award, we’re proud to honor even more of the ways our culture continues to show up and evolve,” Connie Orlando, EVP of Specials, Music Programming & Music Strategy at BET, said in a statement, according to Billboard.

The explosive Bravo series will roll out its first-ever three-part reunion beginning May 26, and as expected, the drama mostly centers around Ciara, Amanda, and West after THAT bestie betrayal.

Host Andy Cohen reunites the cast for what Bravo describes as a “tense and emotional” sit-down, marking the first time Amanda, Ciara, and West have come face-to-face since Amanda and West confirmed their relationship in March.

In the newly released trailer, Ciara doesn’t hold back.

“I couldn’t fathom that I would be sitting here pissed that you’re f***ing my ex,” she tells Amanda. “He wants to embarrass me. He wants to get his last little word. And I hope it works because he’s with you to spite me.”

The moment quickly escalates as Amanda becomes visibly upset and walks off set, while Ciara calls out West for staying seated instead of going after her. Castmates, including Lindsay Hubbard, echo the sentiment, urging him to follow.

A Texas courtroom turned into a masterclass in how to behave like a klan member after Brazoria County attorney Michael Phillips was held in contempt for repeatedly using a racist slur during a child custody trial.

According to court records obtained by Click2Houston, Judge Chad Bradshaw found that Phillips used the slur “in a derisive manner” multiple times while arguing outside the presence of the jury during a custody modification case earlier this month. To be clear, this isn’t just some random “slur”—Phillips is accused of specifically using the n-word in court on the record.

What punishment befell Phillips for his bombastic bigotry, you ask? Three days in jail and a $500 fine. However, both penalties were suspended as long as Phillips submits written apologies to the court and to a Black attorney on the case named Brenda DeRouen by June 30. The idea that this blatant racist attorney can escape true accountability by writing letters is beyond disgraceful. This white man should have to sit and suffer in a cell.

“As a Black woman attorney practicing in Texas family courts, attorneys should be able to advocate fiercely for their clients without being subjected to racially charged conduct that undermines professionalism and dignity in the courtroom,” DeRouen said in an earlier statement to KPRC 2 News.

Phillips, meanwhile, attempted the classic “you don’t understand the context” defense, claiming he was referencing testimony and evidence during an argument and did not intend the remarks in a derogatory way. He also said he apologized immediately afterward. But apparently Judge Bradshaw wasn’t buying the “I was just academically workshopping racism” explanation. The contempt ruling made it crystal clear the court believed the comments crossed the line.

Atlanta Black Star is reporting on a couple of other folks who believe Phillips crossed the line. Activists Quanell X and Candace Matthews later confronted Phillips publicly over the incident, accusing him of trying to intimidate DeRouen after losing ground in the case.

For the record, “I’ll make you taste the ancestors” is one of the greatest threats we’ve ever heard and would like it to be lionized by the culture now and forevermore.

In the end, DeRouen’s client still won the case, which actually makes Phillips’ courtroom meltdown even more embarrassing. All that performative hostility, and the jury still sided against him. So now, instead of celebrating a legal victory, Phillips gets to spend his summer writing apology letters like an ill-behaved elementary school student after momma had a meeting with teacher.

Lex P explained exactly what fans can expect on the Still Sippin’ tour.

“The production is gonna be better. It’s gonna be bigger, bigger venues, obviously. And it’s really extremely interactive,” she told BOSSIP. “I know a lot of times people go to podcast shows and it’s like the two hosts are just sitting in chairs and they’re just talking to each other and it looks exactly like the podcast. This is like Pour Minds on crack, okay? Steroids! But it’s like a party. It’s like a safe space for the girls to just come party with us. We’re doing meet and greets. We’re playing games. We’re still having conversations. We’re doing giveaways. It’s just like a vibe. Like, imagine like a big slumber party. That’s the vibe we wanna give. You coming to a big sleepover with your two favorite podcasters.”

Drea Nicole echoed that same excitement while making it clear they are treating this tour like a real production.

“I think that’s gonna be like the major defining thing between this tour and the last tours that we have because in the past. This time, we are really going through all of the motions to make sure that it’s a real production and it be something that people can really enjoy and it be like an experience,” she said. “I mean, we ain’t got the Beyoncé budget, it ain’t gonna be no fireworks. So, we ain’t there yet. But, when you go to a Beyoncé show, when you go to an Usher show, it’s an experience and that’s how I want people to look at the Pour Minds live show. I want it to be nothing like any other podcast live show that they’ve ever been to.”

The Still Sippin’ Tour Theme Is “Put That S*** On”

One thing we’ve noticed about the Pour Minds fanbase is that the girls are coming dressed to impress.

While fans have been asking if the tour has an official theme, Lex P made it clear there is only one rule.

“It’s not necessarily a theme, but we want you to put that sh*** on,” she told BOSSIP. “Because we’re having a part of the show that’s called ‘Put That S*** On,’ and whoever is best dressed in the building wins a cash prize in every city.”

She continued,

“So we want the girls to show up in their best outfit, the swaggiest, sexiest outfit you got.”

Friendship, Business, and Boundaries

Since launching Pour Minds in 2018, the Houston natives have built their platform brick by brick. From changing teams to making hard business decisions, both women admitted that success definitely didn’t happen overnight.

“We’re very serious about curating a good team,” said Drea Nicole. “We’re serious about our brand and where we want it to go and what we’re trying to accomplish.”

That same intentionality also applies to their friendship. After 11 years of being best friends, the two have learned how to separate personal issues from business.

“Of course, we have our moments where we’re not agreeing on something, but I think why it always just works out for us because one, we really do love each other,” Lex P told BOSSIIP. “This is still a united front.”

Prioritizing Mental Health

With May being Mental Health Awareness Month, both women also opened up about the habits they had to break to protect their peace.

“Telling people yes all the time,” Drea admitted to BOSSIP. “I would break my back to be there for people and to show up for people at the cost of me not showing up for myself.”

Lex P revealed her own struggles with being a people pleaser and trying to fit in.

“But now, with Pour Minds, I feel like I’ve found a community of women who really get me and understand me,” she said. “I feel like I finally have a community of people who really love me and support me and I don’t have to try to fit in. It’s like, I belong here.”

That authenticity is exactly why the Pour Minds community continues to grow. The brand Drea Nicole and Lex P built has become a safe space for women, especially Black women, and fans are showing up loudly for the Still Sippin Tour. Between a full creator screening event and a stop at the legendary Magic City, the city of Atlanta got a preview of what is already shaping up to be one of the most anticipated comedy releases of 2026.

According to an official press release, Marlon, Shawn, and director Michael Tiddes all made grand entrances at the Scary Movie creator screening event at Regal Atlantic Station before taking the celebration to Magic City for the famed “Magic City Monday.”

If you know anything about what a night at Magic City looks like when celebrities of this caliber walk through the door, you already understand that the stories from that evening are going to be circulating for weeks.

What Is Scary Movie 6 About?

The film itself sounds like it is going to be everything the culture has been waiting for since the original Scary Movie changed the comedy game back in 2000.

Twenty-six years after Shorty, Ray, Cindy, and Brenda first outran a suspiciously familiar masked killer, the Core Four are back, and this time nothing is safe. Marlon, Shawn, Anna Faris, and Regina Hall all reunite alongside returning favorites and an incredible roster of fresh faces, including Kenan Thompson, Damon Wayans Jr., Sydney Park, Heidi Gardner, and Kim Wayans, among many others.

The premise alone is sending us because the film is specifically designed to take aim at every single horror trend of the last decade. The clothing brand, founded by the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star, is making it clear that it was not involved with a major cocaine smuggling operation in England. This comes after the shapewear company’s shipment was tied to a convicted drug trafficker.

A representative for SKIMS told TMZ: “SKIMS is aware of the recent news involving a shipment with our products. We want to be absolutely clear: SKIMS had no knowledge whatsoever about this criminal activity. We had no connection to the smuggling operation, the driver, or the truck.”

On Monday, May 18, Jakub Jan Konkel was sentenced to 13 years and 6 months in prison for trafficking cocaine in Chelmsford Crown Court in Essex, England. Authorities claim Konkel transported a trailer truck carrying 28 pallets of SKIMS clothing from The Netherlands to England last September.

The pallets were later searched by Border Force officers after it arrived they the Port of Harwich, which is when they discovered 90 hidden packages of cocaine near the rear trailer doors. Police have estimated the drugs were worth roughly $9.4 million.

Despite the connection to Kardashian’s brand, officials have stressed that there was nothing illegal about the SKIMS merchandise itself, the clothing shipment was just used to conceal the drugs.

While Konkel first denied knowing about the drugs at all, he later admitted that he agreed to smuggle the cocaine for a payment of about $5,300 before pleading guilty in court.

Angela appeared blindsided by Shamea’s comment.

Apparently, Angela caught wind of Shamea’s latest comments because she wasted no time responding online.

Taking to X on May 18, Angela seemed genuinely confused by the renewed tension, especially since she believed the two women had already moved past their issues.

“The thing is Shamea and I have made up MULTIPLE times. I never know we are beefing until we film,” she penned. “It’s giving she just doesn’t like me! And that’s okay!!”

She also added that Shamea gave her the ammo to be “messy” about their friendship.

“Angela only had ammunition because Shamea gave it to her. Tell the whole story,” said @ThirdKing0208 who Angela agreed with.

Ironically, Angela previously told Andy Cohen on WWHL that she had no regrets about telling Porsha what Shamea had been saying, a decision many fans believe lit the match on the friendship fallout.

Both parents showed up proudly at the track meet to cheer him on from the stands. The family posted photos that included one of Ayden standing between both of his parents, trophy in hand, with everyone looking genuinely happy.

Now let us talk about where this journey started because the origin story is sending us. Phaedra took to Instagram to document the full season, and she was hilariously real about her initial skepticism. 

“In January, Ayden decided he wanted to run track,” she wrote. “Honestly, I wasn’t sure how it would end because he moves slow every time I ask him to go run and get me something.” 

Ma’am, the dragging of your own child in the same post where you are celebrating him is the most Phaedra Parks thing that has ever happened. 

Despite her doubts, Phaedra said she fully supported her son’s decision from the start—making sure Ayden had everything he needed throughout the season, including quality gear and encouragement at nearly every competition.

“I made sure he had the tools to succeed, I bought the best track shoes, and showed up to almost every track meet,” she said. 

She also admitted to jumping out of a hearse in full funeral attire to make it to his meets on time, which is the kind of dedicated parenting that deserves its own award category. 

Then came the moment that sealed the season. Between Phaedra and Apollo loudly cheering during competitions, she said Ayden eventually “started running like somebody was chasing him.” Over the course of the season, Ayden and his teammates grew close and focused on one major goal. 

“He and his teammates became family. They decided they were going to win the state championship, and they DID! We are so proud of our Prince Ayden.” 

Bravo has been following along on this season of #RHOA. The co-parenting journey between these two has been a long and complicated road.

Phaedra previously revealed that her son directly asked her to try to become friends with her ex, Apollo, saying, “My son called me last night. He’s like, ‘Mom, I just want you and my dad to try to become friends again.'” 

She acknowledged that it is a process, adding, “It’s a journey because crazy things happen. It makes it difficult sometimes.” 

Phaedra also shared on #RHOA Season 17 that Ayden has been learning to drive.

Over the weekend, just hours after the album was released, the White House posted the following image from its official Instagram account.

The responses to this treacherous trolling ranged from “we are in a war with the middle east, and this is wtf y’all doing” to “no shock there, we’ve seen Drake pal around with weirdo MAGAs like streamer Adin Ross.” Some folks even inexplicably thought the AI-produced image was funny. Guess we just have different senses of humor.

Yesterday, the White House TikTok account doubled down on its love of The Boy by posting an even more incendiary video featuring ICE agents arresting and detaining people using ICEMAN music.

The administration has done this several times over the years with a slew of artists who publicly rebuked Trump and the use of their music to aid in his political gain, including Neil Young, Rihanna, Adele, Bruce Springsteen, Prince, Tom Petty, Pharrell Williams, The Rolling Stones, Celine Dion, Sabrina Carpenter, and members of ABBA. At the time of this writing, neither Drake nor his representatives has spoken out against Trump’s use of his art to mock immigrants and rightful citizens.

The fact that the White House would do this probably comes as no surprised to rap legend Scarface who took to Instagram to shed some light on a disturbing aspect of the ICEMAN album cover that few people are discussing–the fact that the hand gesture on the cover looks a looooot like the white power symbol.

On Instagram this week, Fraim World made a post dissecting the potential reasons why the Fugees rapper chose not to release another album. In the lengthy post, they pointed out multiple label issues along with the pressures that came with Hill being a perfectionist.

In response to this post, Lauryn made her way into the comments section on Friday, May 15, to deliver a her own explanation of the decades-long gap between her only album, and now. She started off the interaction with a simple comment that reads, “I disagree. ,” before going into a much more detailed explanation about her own reasoning.

“When you’re inspired and desire to be principled, what doesn’t get talked about enough is the drain…nor the challenge to find safety so that you can create with integrity,” the Grammy winner began. “Most see opportunity as dollars only and often exclude the ‘sense.’”

Hill continued, “The Score nor the Miseducation were made because we were ‘allowed’ to represent what we did, we fought for every inch. Wild success can cause greed that begins to denigrate the art for the money. We’re people living through all this. These conversations should allow for more nuance. Artists go through phases, creativity requires expression, exploration and experimentation. There were people who hated the Unplugged album and yet some today swear by its significance.”

The beloved singer and rapper then compared herself to abolitionist Harriet Tubman, saying that she did not feel empowered to express her truths to the fullest extent while her creative freedom was limited.

“I was like a Harriet Tubman figure in some respects running to speak difficult truths to power before certain forces tried to close those doors,” she continued. “If it was so easy to do, where is that expression now on the world stage? Systems fear what they can’t control. Creativity is most potent when it’s free. If I did nothing else, I introduced standards and possibilities to a generation that didn’t know they could operate on that level before then.”

In her conclusion, Hill wrote, “I am often doing things outside the support of the system before people can even realize what I’ve done. Another artist who values inspiration then recognizes IT’S value and re-presents it to an audience then ready to receive it.”

Lauryn Hill only releasing one album has always been a topic of conversation among music lovers. Videos shared online captured sweet behind-the-scenes moments from prom night, including Tyrese helping Shayla’s date straighten his tie and even adding a few last-minute sewing touches to his daughter’s dress before the big event.

In the caption, the entertainer opened up about officially becoming an “empty nester” as his daughter prepares to leave home following her graduation next week.

“Just put my house up for sale in LA I’m officially an empty nester…Graduation is next week and life is going to be very very different from this moment forth…I’m on edge and yet excited because the concept of leaving the nest and letting my first born fly I know she’s going to take God into every room she enters,” he wrote.

He continued:

“I also know that she wasn’t raised to believe most of what she hears, far from gullible and or stupid. She’s been in mansions, private chefs, Nanny’s, Security, housekeepers, drivers her whole life…. Her daddy has created a very high standard.”

Tyrese then made it clear that flashy lifestyles and luxury status symbols won’t easily impress his daughter.

“There is no such thing as an Iced out WATCH chain or pulling up in a Rolls-Royce that would make my daughter like you because of your car or what’s on your wrist,” he added. “Her daddy had all of that…. Her daddy is all of that. The only thing that will ever impress my baby girl is heart, integrity and a beautiful soul.”

On April 29, Tyrese reflected on the now-infamous “My Shayla” video during an appearance on Angie Martinez’s IRL Podcast, revealing that he was experiencing withdrawal from psychiatric medication at the time, which heavily impacted his emotions and resulted in that painful, teary-eyed plea for his daughter in the emotional video. Thankfully, a judge ultimately awarded the singer 50/50 joint custody of Shayla in 2017, but the road to the verdict was rocky.

“I had never seen me like that. When I finally got in my regular headspace, I looked at the video and was like, ‘Oh sh*t. Wow,’” the Fast and Furious star admitted.

Still, Tyrese said that over time, he found comfort in seeing the once-painful moment evolve into something unexpectedly wholesome online.

During Sunday (May 17)’s episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, the singer pointed the finger at Porsha Williams, Phaedra Parks, and longtime frenemy Drew Sidora while venting to Pinky Cole over the confusing kerfuffle that’s left some watchers scratching their heads.

K. Michelle accused the trio of spreading rumors about her “lady parts” and that she had a romantic relationship with Drew’s new “friend,” Blakk.

“I already know who you contacted, what blogs you’ve called,” K. Michelle said during a confessional while apparently pointing the finger at Porsha Williams, Phaedra Parks, and Drew Sidora.

“To go read that and want to spread that, I think that is very disheartening. And that shows the character of these women,” K continued.

Things got especially emotional during an intense breakfast scene in Dallas when K. Michelle broke down in tears after allegedly receiving intel that the three women were putting together “a plot and a plan” to falsely claim she once had a romantic relationship with Drew Sidora’s “friend,” Blakk. Notably, before the drama erupted, K. Michelle and Drew got into a heated argument over claims that Blakk had DM’d the “Can’t Raise a Man” singer years before he and Drew started talking.

But it didn’t end there. According to K. Michelle, part two of the alleged master plan involved resurfacing “a rumor that a disgruntled ex said eight years ago.” An onscreen headline later hinted that the rumor was connected to past comments made about her “lady parts.”

The rumors about K. Michelle’s downstairs region first surfaced in 2016.

In case you missed it, the rumor originally exploded back in 2016 when rapper Uncle Murda released a song claiming multiple men told him K. Michelle’s vagina had an odor. He fanned flames on the rumor during an interview with The Breakfast Club alongside Maino that same year. Notably, at the time, Maino denied sleeping with the R&B and country hitmaker when asked if they were ever intimate.

However, years later, Maino reignited the controversy on his podcast, Kitchen Talk, where he described an alleged encounter with a popular R&B singer and claimed he smelled a foul odor, comments that pushed K. Michelle to threaten a defamation lawsuit.

And if that wasn’t messy enough, viewers noticed K. Michelle visibly irritated during a dinner scene when Porsha and the ladies joked over oysters, with one comment being, “That vagina is cleaned,” followed by another suggesting that one of the oysters might have “a little scent.”

K.Michelle said she was “heartbroken” to know that her co-stars were thinking of spreading the rumor.

“I am heartbroken,” K.Michelle shared in another confessional. “The trauma that was caused by the rumor, it really hasn’t gotten better. I can say, ‘I’m healed! I’m healed!’ like a lot of people, but I haven’t. And I don’t know when I will.”

Although the women initially looked confused, they quickly rallied around her, including Porsha, who promised to “deal with” whatever K. Michelle was facing. Still, K. Michelle refused to reveal exactly who she believed was conspiring against her, saying she was “not in a space” to fully discuss it and didn’t want to ruin the trip. But she did vow to handle things once everyone got back to Atlanta, and she wasted absolutely no time doing just that after the episode aired.

K. Michelle and Porsha Williams got into a heated X spat after RHOA aired.

K. Michelle jumped on X to air out her frustrations, posting without naming names:

“I don’t care how crazy it look, all that BTS producing these ladies did. I KNEW about all of it. I sat there and watched quietly. I’m not new this.”

In a follow-up post, she added:

“Don’t sit and my face and play like you don’t what I’m talking about. You want a reaction you can have it. Say it to my face or be a quiet coward.”

Porsha wasted zero seconds clapping back, replying:

“Who is a coward ?? I would define a coward as a person tweeting from the same house, two doors down from me. Next time let’s do our job and bring it to my front door REAL TIME. That’s how it’s done in Rhoa.”

The social media sparring match officially entered full Housewives territory when K. Michelle accused the longtime peach-holder of sleeping with her ex and sharing her “business.” Porsha somehow managed to turn the chaos into a promo moment for her hair company Go Naked Hair, because if there’s one thing reality stars are gonna do, it’s argue and advertise at the same time.

“Nothing synthetic, not the smile, the vibe, or the confidence & certainly not the hair,” Porsha fired back. “FYI @kmichellemusic @GoNakedHair is 100% human hair. We are 10 plus years strong in this game and 10 million dollars old. Real hair for REAL women!”

Things are bound to get ugly!

WNBA sneaker culture has always been there, but now the rest of the world is finally catching up. For years, fans knew the league had hoopers with real style, real personality and real influence, but the sneaker industry did not always move as if it knew that. Player exclusives were popping up on court, athletes were making tunnel fits part of their personal brands, and sneaker pages were starting to zoom in on what players were wearing on their feet. The issue was simple: a lot of the shoes fans wanted were impossible to buy.

That gap is starting to close. As Andscape recently pointed out, player exclusives have become more common across the WNBA, with players using sneakers to tell personal stories, honor culture, celebrate milestones and show off identity. But most of these PEs still never reach retail, even when screenshots go viral and fans immediately start asking where they can cop. That is why signature shoes matter so much. They’re not just sneakers; they are proof that brands see these women as market movers, not just athletes wearing someone else’s product.

The timing also could not be better. The WNBA is entering a new era where stars arrive with built-in audiences from college; social media can turn one on-court sneaker moment into a full conversation; and brands are being forced to admit that women’s basketball is no longer a niche. Sabrina Ionescu’s line has crossed over into the NBA; A’ja Wilson’s Nike run became one of the biggest sneaker stories in women’s hoops; Angel Reese helped bring Reebok Basketball back into the conversation; and Caitlin Clark’s expected Nike signature is already being treated like a major release before it even hits shelves.

The bigger picture is this: the WNBA sneaker wave is no longer just about visibility. It is about access, storytelling and investment. Fans do not just want to see the shoes on TV; they want to wear them, collect them and feel connected to the players who are changing the culture. With more signature lines active now than the league has seen in years, this feels like the start of something that should have been normalized a long time ago.

The third season of Euphoria has been getting mixed reviews, to say the least.

The show’s creator and producer, Sam Levinson, has made a lot of changes to the show since the first season, which aired back in 2019. This season’s storylines follow the characters after their time in high school, which makes for a big contrast to the series’ former setting.

A lot of characters from the series no longer appear on the show, which includes Nika King, the actress who plays Zendaya (Rue)’s mom in Euphoria.

She made a small appearance in the most recent episode of the show’s season 3, which she teased all week on her social media pages. However, when the episode finally dropped on Sunday, King saw, along with fans, that her scene was cut down to just one single line.

The 47-year-old took to Instagram after the episode aired to reveal that more dialogue was filmed, but was cut out entirely.

“I just watched the episode that I’ve been promoting all week—and my mom over here is clowning me!” she said to the camera with a laugh.

King went on to say that her mother was laughing at her because “the internet waited all this time for [her] to just say one line.”

Her mom added, “Three years!” However, fans actually had to wait four years for season 3, as King’s last appearance in season 2 aired in 2022.

In the actress’ video, she turned to talk to her mother, who remained off-screen, saying, “You better be glad I have a sense of humor, you better be glad I’ve got thick skin.”

The episode in question, titled, “Stand Still and See,” sees Rue have a near-death experience after narrowly avoiding a head-on collision with a truck. That’s when she heads to a church to find some comfort, and while sitting there, she receives a call from Leslie (King).

During their long, emotional conversation, Rue tells her mother that she’s searching for redemption and gushes over how much she misses her. But, as pointed out by King, the camera only shows Rue’s end of the phone conversation until the camera cuts to her mother on the other end for one line.

Leslie tells Rue that she loves her before the conversation ends, and that is King’s first time onscreen in Euphoria since 2022.

Wilson, who was 20 years old at the time of his death, had been pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering at Southern University and A&M College. He was also known as a member of the school’s famed “Human Jukebox” Marching Band and was remembered by classmates and faculty as a driven student with a warm personality and strong sense of purpose.

According to authorities, Wilson died after participating in an off-campus pledging ritual tied to the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Baton Rouge police said the incident involved fraternity members allegedly punching Wilson in the chest multiple times while wearing boxing gloves as part of the hazing process. Investigators stated that Wilson collapsed and suffered a seizure before being transported to a hospital, where he later died.

The case sparked outrage and renewed conversations about hazing culture within college fraternities, especially at historically Black colleges and universities. Five individuals have since been charged in connection with Wilson’s death. One suspect, Caleb McCray, faces manslaughter and felony hazing charges, while others face accusations ranging from obstruction of justice to participation in felony hazing. All five defendants have pleaded not guilty.

Southern University later expelled the fraternity’s Beta Sigma chapter from campus. On the one-year anniversary of Wilson’s death, the university announced plans to honor him with a posthumous degree, saying his life and legacy continued to leave a lasting impact on the campus community.
