Kevin Durant tried to enjoy a quiet dinner at Nobu Malibu with a woman rumored to be a certain former flame, but the internet quickly turned the outing into online chatter. And while the NBA player may have simply been grabbing a meal, social media had plenty of questions and, as usual, KD had a few responses of his own.

As the Daily Mail reported, Durant was spotted out at Nobu Malibu with a mystery woman, and photos circulated online showing him attempting to avoid cameras as they left the restaurant together. Durant even hid behind a bush in what turned out to be a deeply unsuccessful attempt to stay out of frame. Meanwhile, his date walked ahead of him in a printed top and black leather ankle boots, with sleek, straight hair. KD eventually followed behind in a flannel shirt, yellow beanie, and jeans. A grown man with NBA Finals experience and multiple championship rings chose a bush as his cover strategy. The paparazzi were not impressed, and neither was the internet. 

Once the photos went viral, the detective division of social media got to work immediately. As The Shade Room shared, fans online believe they have identified the mystery woman as Cassandra Anderson, Durant’s ex-girlfriend. Kevin and Cassandra reportedly dated on and off between 2017 and late 2018.

Cassandra, a former college volleyball player and real estate agent, kept things low-key with KD while they were together. The internet cross-referenced old photos, matched the silhouette, and declared the case closed within approximately forty-five minutes of the original pictures dropping. 

KD noticed the frenzy and had exactly one thing to say about all of it. Durant slid directly into The Shade Room comments to let folks know he was simply trying to enjoy himself.

“God forbid a man enjoys a nice dinner,” he commented on the post.

Durant delivered seven words with the energy of a man who knew the commentary was coming and decided to lean into it anyway. We respect the brevity. 

Neither Durant nor Cassandra has confirmed whether the woman in the photos is actually her, and she has not made any public comment on the speculation. KD has kept his dating life almost entirely private since his split from Cassandra back in 2018, and whatever this dinner was, he clearly intended to keep it in that same lane. The bush plan just did not cooperate.

The comments under every post covering this story have been exactly what you would expect. Fans are fully invested, armchair detectives are still working the case and a significant portion of the internet is simply rooting for KD to find his person in peace. That last group has good intentions but clearly underestimates how loud the other groups will be before this settles down.

God forbid indeed, Kevin. God forbid.

More than just a makeover or self-help series, The SHIFT is about transforming entrepreneurs from the inside out, while helping Black women navigate life’s pivotal moments through honesty, accountability, community, and purpose.

Created and hosted by the incredibly dynamic Tai Beauchamp, the series brings together an all-star Board of Advisors, including Egypt Sherrod, Bevy Smith, Brandi Harvey, Yaya DaCosta, and Judy Dupart to mentor women through both personal and professional crossroads using what the show calls the L.O.V.E. Looking at Tai’s journey, this project feels less like a television show and more like the culmination of her life’s work. From breaking barriers as the youngest and first Black Beauty and Fitness Director at Seventeen Magazine to building transformative wellness communities through Morning Mindset with Tai to co-founding the groundbreaking fragrance brand BROWN GIRL Jane, Tai has consistently created spaces where women feel seen, empowered, and equipped to evolve, and now she’s helping inspire the next generation to do the same.

In this conversation, we’re diving into the inspiration behind The SHIFT, why this moment matters so deeply, and how Tai continues to redefine what leadership, wellness, and community look like for women everywhere.

Let me start by telling you how you’re serving as a blueprint, because I think that part of the issue with today’s entrepreneurs, and why we’re seeing so many of these women just being burnt out, myself included, is that I am in that reinvention period where it’s like, oh my goodness, because you give so much. But what you said is such an overlooked aspect of business that it takes time, and we don’t hear those stories anymore. I think being in a social media culture where it feels like everybody’s getting rich overnight makes you feel like, “Well, I need to grind harder.” So you’re putting yourself on the back burner to try to keep up with the “Joneses”, per se.

Listen, what you just gave was a sermon and also a prophecy, quite frankly, because I feel that so deeply. I feel that so deeply within my spirit. I think people might have a perception of who I am, but I am so deeply centered in my spiritual awareness, in God’s presence, that it’s what’s been played and said in my head and in my spirit. Knowing how people are moving, the ambition that people have, and what they’re being driven toward, the fame, the celebrity, the virility, the moment of celebration, the moment of accolade, is missing the mark. It’s missing the mark, and so many people are focused on that because of technology, social media, and the lifestyles that we now, I don’t want to say even live, but that we seek to capture to demonstrate how we’re supposedly living, but it’s only a sliver of it. It is so wild to me, Tiffany. These are the things I think about all the time. So you’re speaking to my spirit, girl. Exactly. That’s a whole different conversation. You’re going to be like, “What?” That’s a whole different conversation.”

A completely different conversation! I love your show, The Shift, and even just watching your journey on social media. Personally, you’re living it out every day, whether you know it or not, which is why I was excited to do this interview because it’s coming at a time when Black women really need to feel seen and supported.

The sad part is that people [nowadays] aren’t on social media looking for these opportunities to really be poured into and supported. I do believe that it’s necessary, and that more people could benefit than perhaps I could even imagine, but it’s not where people are plugged in for the most part, and that is part of even the truth of what I’ve had to say to myself as a creator and as an executive producer and as a host of something that I was able to bring to birth, something that’s been in my heart and spirit to light. I also have to reconcile for myself, yes, it’s out in the world, and my goal is to touch as many people as possible. But if it only touches 25 people or 25,000 people and not 25 million people, I’ve got to be good with that because social media isn’t a place that is celebrating this type of work.

Facts. See, we are already on the same page, because that was kind of my point. I feel like you not only took this moment with the show to catapult the narrative of “Hey, Black women, this is how you can -balance, live your life, and still chase your dreams”, and it’s giving us the ability to see that it’s not selfish to take that vacation or to take that time for yourself.

Yes!

Because we get so caught up, but then the other side of that is many women right now, especially Gen Z, are battling loneliness, self-doubt, uncertainty, etc., and to see you be this vulnerable and say, “This is just one thing. I got 1,000 other things going on.” Because I know I can do that even when it gets shaky, is the transparency that, honestly, the culture in general needs, whether it’s Black women, Black culture, whatever. It’s time for us to start seeing people really out here grinding and seeing the truth, even about people who are multimillionaires, because this idea that we’re supposed to get rich and just sit down isn’t reality.

Well, it’s not reality, and it’s not real. This is a deeper conversation. Right now, I’m taking this call from Joshua Tree, California, because I am the person who has to go off the grid, for lack of a better term. I have to disconnect from the status quo we believe we’re meant to perpetuate for the sake of being seen or celebrated. It’s not who I am, and I think that’s going to be the demise of humanity overall.

I’ve been talking a lot about that as I pivot and grow and expand Morning Mindset with Tai, not only to reach people, but in the type of programs that we do and the partners that we have and where and how we show up. Because if we don’t connect more intentionally, humanity is being missed, and that was the point of “The Shift.” And this is where I have to say gratitude to my team, who helped bring this to fruition, Princess, EJ, Derek, the team at Crowd, and my partners at BET, who allowed me to bring this forth.

Prayerfully, it’ll continue, and there will be more resources to actually do it the way I want to, because when I tell you, this was a labor of love. Making TV in 2026 is not the same as it was when I started in 2013 or 2014. The resources are different. The allocation of those resources means different talent and people who come on the show, the wonderful stable of board members, like mentors, Egypt Sherrod, Bev Smith, Judy Dupar, Brandy Harvey, and Yaya Dacosta, who said yes to me, flew into Atlanta to be with me, not because I was paying them what they deserved and what their rate should be.

I couldn’t afford to do that just yet with this production. And their “yes” was proof positive of why this show was necessary: women like us, who are seasoned and experienced, want to pour into the next generation. We want to make sure that Gen Z doesn’t feel lonely, doesn’t feel as aimless, misguided, or misdirected, because they have a real tribe and community. That is what we’re supposed to do.

That type of hand-holding is the same hand-holding that gave birth to the civil rights movement. That type of hand-holding is the same hand-holding that gave rise to authors like Bell Hooks. And even when there was a lack of hand-holding then, it was the individuals who had the gumption to create something that said, “Look, this is not just singularly about me flexing for a picture in front of a jet. It’s about how I can help this next generation understand that they deserve to fly.”

That’s why I love that you said that we’re not just giving makeovers, we’re shifting mindsets, because that’s a fact. You’re giving us that. Even with the women who are there with you, Egypt, Bev, those are powerful women, and all of you have shared your journey every step of the way from the beginning to now; so you couldn’t have picked a better crew. Sticking with the show, what is your goal with that group? I know we talked about their gratitude and participation, but they also bring specific skill sets. And so what was your thought process behind this show?

Thank you; it was very intentional. So with the five women who said yes to me, it was very intentional, and I was grateful. In the deck outlining how we were presenting and pitching the show to BET and others, I was very clear. We were deciding who to partner with based on the mentee we ultimately cast. And so, what I will say is that, in casting this, we received more than 150 submissions in less than a day and a half.

And this was a very quick turnaround cast because this is a smaller production. But I was very intentional. When I met Kiana, saw her profile of what she was trying to do, sat in on casting sessions with her, reviewed her tape, and did the research, that’s when we knew that, for someone who needs confidence, it’s Bev Smith. It’s Yaya Dacosta, because they each bring their different set of expertise.

The same thing with Egypt Sherrod and Judy Dupar with Miasia, I knew that as a former radio host herself, Miasia was going to see herself in Egypt, and vice versa. Egypt has become a real estate powerhouse in her own right, and the same thing goes for Judy with building Kaleidoscope Beauty. The way that Judy has been so transparent about her journey, like as a young mom doing hair and then making it into this $35 million-plus business, that texture and the grit with which Judy had to do it is the same grit that Miasia is approaching her shoetique with. That’s what we are meant to be doing. So when I thought about the cast, I was intentional about who the women are, one, who have wisdom and lived experience, but also can drill down on some facts.

I don’t want the pontificating, no shade, but the Dr. Bryants coming on and just calling themselves doctors…

Hello! Don’t have me passing the offering plate in here.

[Laughs] I want people with lived, trusted experience and wisdom, and the heart and the spirit to deliver it in the spirit of love, in the spirit of care. Not to break these young women down, even if they’re trying to figure it out, but to give them the motivation and the encouragement. That was intentional. And my vision is broader: I’m working on a tech platform that will extend the work of “The Shift” to the masses via technology, in a space where people can come and learn from seasoned experts in their own fields.

That’s the same for when we come back for season two and season three; I want to utilize women’s expertise. We want to take it to Dallas. We want to take this to Houston, but we also have the women of expertise and note in those spaces who are the seasoned generation, along with the younger people coming to that home as well. It’s meant to be a village-style community because that’s how we are. That’s who we are. That’s how I knew my grandmother operated in our home. When cousins were coming in from the Virgin Islands and needed homes or places to stay, or when cousins and everyone were coming in from Jamaica, they came to our home. It was a place of refuge. So I take that literally, but it is also metaphorical about how we’ve always been.

Even in the most challenging economic times, Black people have always been the most philanthropic. It took Robin Hood to coin the term “philanthropy” in that way, but we’ve always been charitable. We were always making food for the families down the street and babysitting. That’s philanthropy. And so the heart and the spirit of that was not just about us making ends meet, but that was the birth of Black Wall Street.

That’s us coming together as an ecosystem. The shift in mindset, even for busy women like Brandi Harvey, Egypt, Judy, Bevy, and Yaya, is that we can make time for our people and for the important things. Like the shift in the idea that we don’t do things together. Ryan gave me The Gathering Spot at no cost, as did Teresa Caldwell, The Taste, and then came on the show to help make Kiana over. When I created the mixer at the end, for Kiana to show that she could introduce herself and meet people. All of the people who showed up for that mixer were real people, people that I know in Atlanta, who are executives in Atlanta, and they came. They not only came to the event but also showed a lot of love and support!

Like my Morehouse brother came. They came to this mixer to meet Kiana. People have talked to her after that. That’s what this show is about. This show is about truly being something that you can watch and learn and live from, you can be entertained by because we had our moments of entertainment, and trust me, with season two, we’re going to have even more because we want it to be raw and truthful and honest, but you also have these moments of where you’re seeing us really standing the gap for one another.

I love that a lot, but that is another thing and another point I love about the show. As an Xennial myself, I know and remember what the true village looked like, and I see it making the necessary resurgence now.

Definitely.

To see that not only was your mission to build that village, but that you’re doing it properly is not only amazing, but it’s got me over here just like, “Oh my gosh, she has to win and everything.” Because even when you’re talking about the legacy of your grandmother, you’re talking about the reset houses where you have that family member who lets you stay there.

Yes! Exactly.

That’s exactly what you’re doing, and to me, the very fact that it’s intentional through what we’re seeing through your creative practice and through art and through this business partnership, to me, it’s amazing. Coupled with the fact that it’s all-inclusive, it’s the part I love most. This isn’t about creating baddies or superwomen who look pretty. You are all-inclusive, and that’s something that I love that was intentional as well.

Thank you so much, it’s my heart, and I’ll be honest, it’s like I’m grateful to have this heart and have this desire. Now my focus, even for myself, you talked from your own truth as a Xennial; I’m a Gen X-er. We’re going to experience seasons of having to shift again and again.

Part of it is that we believe the shift happens once, and it’s some kind of cataclysmic event that resets everything for the rest of your life. The truth of the matter is that it will not be the case. You are going to be allowed to shift so many times in your life, and it’s whether we meet it with intention, with fortitude, with wisdom, with grace for ourselves, with compassion for ourselves, and in partnership, that’s the question. And I face that all the time professionally. This has been one of the most financially unstable seasons of my 20-year entrepreneurial journey. I’ve been an entrepreneur for 20 years. I’m sitting here looking at the revenue, and it’s like when I first started doing well in my career, when I started making six figures when I was in my 20s. I’m looking at times like, “Wow, this is different. I have to shift.” I think being clear about the awakening that you are given an opportunity to shift, and will you choose it?

Ooh, that’s it. And again, going back to The Shift, because I love how both your life and the show are parallel. It’s almost like it’s giving the baseline and then showing us how to keep going. One of the things I love about it is that you’re continuing to pour into them at the show by giving them a heartfelt letter. How important was that to you, and why is that something that you felt was important to do for them?

Well, that’s a really good question. I remember my co-EP and I talking, and I was like, “We got to put a bow on the end of this,” I said, “because I don’t want them to walk away even…” Because I’ll be honest, even in parts of the show, because I’m also the host of the show, and my intention with being the host was to lend expertise where I can and where I know, but also to be a conduit for the mentees to engage with Bevy, Yaya, Egypt, Jessica, and Brandy.

So it was a fine balance; I knew that with them coming on the show, I wanted it to be pleasant, but shifting is not easy. Even when you come into your family member’s house to reset, you’ve got to get to the root of some hard truths sometimes, too.

Very true.

So I was very conscious and thoughtful about making sure that they didn’t walk away feeling defeated or discouraged because we gave them a list of things.” And the show is only 15 minutes. Each episode we shot over the course of a day, so know that there was a lot more happening in those moments and this was our first season, so we’re still trying to fine-tune all of the elements of the show.

So I was like, by writing them a letter, it personalizes it so they know we’re coming from a place of truth. It also buttons the experience up so they can hear, with a loving ear and, hopefully, an open heart, how I want to see them move forward. It creates that ripple effect. And so the letter was really just sharing my heart, and thank you for recognizing that.

I love it. What are some of the most powerful or emotional breakthroughs that you saw?

Wow, this season, that’s interesting. We only shot three. So I think Kiana and Myasia were both wonderfully impactful, and again, it’s because I talk to them. But Myasia is ready to leap. She’s renaming her business. She literally just had a call with me a couple of days ago, brainstorming new names and asking me what I was thinking about it. But I’m really humbled by each of the different truths we faced that are real for so many women. I know so many people who are like, “I don’t know what to do with this business. How do I bring this back?” I know so many people who don’t have confidence in real-time. I know so many people who are so gifted, like Defyne, with all these gifts and talents, but she is wrestling with how to show up to make ends meet so she can fully live out all the ways she could.

What is your vision for the next season?

My hope is to bring this to the masses. I’m grateful for this opportunity with BET and to have this be a wonderful way for us as Black women to connect, but I could see men being on the show in the future. I could see people of different ages and stages in life because, again, the shift never ends. There were women when we were casting who were like, “You asked for people between the ages of 25 and, I think, 35,” and because of the intergenerational idea. But someone was like, “I’m 55, and I would like to be on the show.” And that’s real.

That right there. I love how, as women, we are reinventing ourselves every step of the way. Because, for me, to your point about the pivoting, I don’t think that, as women, we understand a lot of times what burnout looks like. We’ll still keep going, like Defyne’s story. I feel like it was one of those moments where she wanted to show up, but it was so much, and she didn’t want to fail again. I feel like that’s where a lot of women get stuck because then you just keep doing what’s working, not knowing you got to put that step forward and try something new. By discovering and doing that, I feel like it’s you discovering who you are. You’re getting to know more and more of yourself outside the label you have for yourself.

That’s spiritual. That’s a spiritual thing. That was part of my own awakening in this stage of the middle ages of my life. Like, really, because that’s who you are. People are born creative.

Exactly. Think about it, as a baby, you don’t know when to cry. You don’t know when to reach for food. You know. And as a child, when you think about a baby who starts to crawl, you’re exploring. You don’t know how to touch the stove because everything is open. There’s creativity. Then we spend the entire first part of our lives, from your parents to going into school, they’re putting you into constructs and telling you, “Don’t do this. You do this. Don’t do this.” So then we lose our sense of creativity.

But as you get older and become more aware and more conscious, you reconnect with that creativity, and the dream continues to expand. The dream becomes different. You have to have a new dream because once you’ve lived parts of a dream, whether or not you’ve achieved it exactly or that was just part of the journey, that was just part of that dream’s journey, then you’ve got to have another dream journey.

That’s the reality of our lives, and I don’t know, it feels really good to be at this stage to have awareness about that. I think even from my own work and my own purpose in life, it’s like how do I live that out? I’ve lived that out in many ways. I’ve said to people all the time, “My purpose on this earth is to help more people, especially women and Black women, to be fully expressed.” That’s my gift.

I can connect with people to help them see, feel, love, and understand themselves. It’s just a gift that I have. But I’ve always said I could do that as a magazine writer. I could do that on TV. I could do that, starting a program in Newark as I did. I can do that in many ways because I’m not attached to how I do it; I’m more connected to the why behind what I do. That’s why The Shift is so important to me.

I’m thinking about all the expansion and opportunities, and my prayer in this season is that those resources will find me so that I can stand it up even more.

Jordyn Woods has become an important fixture for a lot of Knicks fans, showing off her extravagant outfits before every game as she supports her fiancé, Karl-Anthony Towns.

The Knicks are up 2-0 against the San Antontio Spurs in the NBA Finals, and tonight, they’re back at home for Game 3. While New Yorkers are ecstatic to have their team back in town, Trump’s expected attendance has thrown a huge wrench in things.

Madison Square Garden and the United States Secret Service announced a special no-bag policy in place for Game 3, which presents a challenge for Woods as she brings a “lucky” purse to each game. In their statement announcing the move, they encouraged fans in attendance to “limit personal items to an absolute minimum.”

In her Instagram Stories on June 8, Jordyn shared a post from ABC 7’s Jaysha Patel discussing the new policy’s implications on her superstition.

“President Trump will be attending game 3 of the NBA Finals. There is a strict no bag policy tonight,” the reporter wrote, “But please tell me [Woods] is the exception and she can bring her lucky bag.”

She added in her Story, “Even the news knows how important the bag is .”

While a lot of arenas have strict bag policies, celebrities are often the exception, so it’s still a mystery whether or not Jordyn will be able to bring her lucky bag along.

She previously opened up about her purse in an interview with Vogue following Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

“Once playoffs start, everything becomes part of the ritual if we keep winning,” Woods explained to the magazine. “We’re nine wins in, and now I have my lucky Woods by Jordyn bag, my game-day GRWMs on TikTok, and a watch I refuse to take off. At this point, I’m not risking changing anything.”

“I created a sample of the Tux Clutch Mini specifically for the playoffs,” She added of her bag. “I wore it for Game 1 during one of my TikTok GRWMs, and ever since then we’ve kept winning, so now it’s officially become the lucky bag…It’s gotten to the point where if people don’t see me carrying it during a close game, they start blaming me for changing the routine.”

“So let’s just say the bag isn’t leaving my side anytime soon,” Jordyn concluded.

What happened at lunch?

K. Michelle quickly confronted Drew over comments she made during their heated altercation in Dallas, specifically accusing Drew of saying she “didn’t belong” in the friend group. In response, Drew encouraged the country singer to be more direct about what was bothering her.

“You did tell her she didn’t belong in the group,” Shamea, who attended the meeting as a mediator, reminded Drew.

Throwing a little shade of her own, Drew fired back by reminding K. Michelle that she needed to start “speaking up” for herself if she had a problem. The comment only seemed to fuel the singer’s frustration.

“I think I’m doing very good at controlling myself and I spoke up enough about it,” K.Michelle shared, to which Drew calmly clapped back, “I havent heard anything.”

Before the conversation could get any further, K. Michelle abruptly got up and left, hopping into Shamea Morton’s car while leaving her Chanel purse behind at the table.

“Am I making her uncomfortable?” Drew asked a puzzled-looking Shamea before watching K. Michelle drive away. “I rattled her that much? I have not done anything to this lady.”

Looking back on the tense exchange, Drew questioned why K. Michelle refused to have a direct conversation with her during an interview with DECIDER on Sunday.

“I would like to know what I allegedly did…I’m somebody who’s like, ‘Let’s just talk.’ I was there with no backup. It was just me. Let’s have a face-to-face [conversation]. What did I do?” she explained. “It was crickets. You can’t even have a conversation and you leave your Chanel? What are we doing? This is performative. It’s dramatics at best.”

The drama didn’t end there.

Shamea and Drew Sidora got into a heated argument.

After K. Michelle’s departure, Drew and Shamea found themselves in a heated argument. Shamea accused Drew of repeatedly bringing up K. Michelle and her rumored boyfriend, Blakk Tatted, who allegedly once DM’d K with a compliment. Drew denied the accusation, insisting that Shamea was helping spread false narratives and should instead encourage her friend to address the issue directly.

According to Drew, K. Michelle needed to have a direct conversation with her about whatever problem she had.

“She needs to speak up for herself. I’m not talking to the spokesperson,” she told Shamea. “You’re being her lapdog.”

Shamea wasn’t having it and fired back:

“I’m sitting here saying I understand both sides and you just called me her lapdog. I think you’re rude.”

The comment prompted Shamea to walk off and join K. Michelle in the car. Once reunited, the pair began mocking Drew’s recent performance of “The National Anthem.”

“People be so rude,” Drew said after seeing her co-stars pettily making fun of her performance.

Drew Sidora called Shamea and K.Michelle “dramatic” during WWHL.

Drew later stopped by Watch What Happens Live following the episode, where she described K. Michelle and Shamea’s behavior as “performative” and “dramatic.” As for K. Michelle, Drew admitted she’s still confused about why the newest Housewife seems to have an issue with her.

“I feel like it was for a moment cuz I don’t really know where this issue came from…I don’t even think she knows to [laughter] be honest. You know, I asked her and she didn’t tell me what the issue was …It’s like a scheme. It’s like this hidden deep down somewhere. We’re all trying to figure it out. I think I’m confused just like everybody else.”

Fans online appeared to agree too, with one netizen writing: 

“K better be ready with some receipts and explanations at this reunion. Cause girl what.”

Another person penned:

“Their [Shamea and K.Michelle] behavior is actually not funny or fun to watch anymore. The scene with Drew shamea and k was actually sad— k walking out prematurely, Shamea constantly running away from confrontation in scenes, ugh.”

Drew hopes to make amends with K.Michelle, but has her “eye on” Shamea.

During her interview with DECIDER, Drew expressed hope that she’d find common ground with K.Michelle at the upcoming reunion.

Becoming the first female rapper to perform on the Tony Awards stage, Meg performed during the opening number as her character Zidler from Moulin Rouge! The Musical. While doing her number alongside host Pink and other Broadway stars, Thee Stallion looked stunning in a black and gold corset, a red velvet coat, a top hat to finish the look.

Later that same night, the Houston hottie changed into something that better represents her personal style as she presented the award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Musical. For this segment, she wore a sheer, halter-neck gown with 3D details on the hips, showing off her bawwwwdy.

Megan’s appearance at the Tony Awards comes following her debut on Broadway earlier this year, where she played Zidler in Moulin Rouge!. She was the first woman to take on the role, following runs from actors including Tituss Burgess, Boy George, Bob the Drag Queen, and Wayne Brady.

The decorated Olympian took to her Instagram Story to share the alarming update with her millions of followers, calling the incident “one of, if not the scariest experience of my life.”

“I’m not one to normally share things like this because I value privacy in today’s age,” Biles wrote on her Instagram Stories. “But almost dying wasn’t on my bingo card earlier this week.”

“This was one of, if not the scariest experience of my life. Especially since Jonathan [Owens] was in Indy for practices,” she continued.

In the Instagram Story, fans could see Biles’ right hand and arm covered with multiple hospital bands, a visual that immediately sparked concern across social media.

“I’ve been in bed resting this week, I’ll explain sooner or later but s/o to my close circle who reached out, checked in, visited & or sent flowers,” Biles continued on her Instagram Stories. “Loooovveeee y’all.”

The Ohio native later shared additional Instagram Stories highlighting the love she has received during her recovery. One post featured beautiful flower arrangements sent by loved ones, while another showed the superstar athlete cozied up in bed with her dogs as she relaxed and watched television.

The health update comes as many sports fans continue to speculate about whether Biles will return to competition for the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles. At the moment, the gymnastics legend remains undecided about what her future in the sport looks like.

“I’m really trying to enjoy life, to spend time with my husband (Chicago Bears safety Jonathan Owens), go support him at his games, live my life as a woman,” she said in an April interview with French sports daily L’Equipe. “I’ve accomplished so much in my sport. For me to come back, it would really have to excite me.”

She also acknowledged the physical demands that come with competing at the highest level.

“Whether on the apparatus or in the stands, I still don’t know that,” she told L’Equipe. “But 2028 seems so far away, and my body is aging. I felt it in Paris.”

After spending years redefining greatness and pushing the boundaries of gymnastics, Biles has nothing left to prove. Still, fans around the world remain hopeful that they have not seen her final Olympic chapter.

In a recent sit-down with Vulture, Regina got transparent about her life, her career, and what it’s been like to be Hollywood’s best-kept secret despite being one of the best in the business. When talking about the early years of her time in the industry, she revealed the roles that she lost that felt like big losses, at the time, including the role of Yvette.

“And then, of course, there are other roles I went and auditioned for and didn’t get, but then I loved who got it,” she said. “I love Taraji P. Henson in Baby Boy—I auditioned for that, but she was amazing.”

Hall also opened up about her experience working with the Wayans family on the original Scary Movie franchise, helmed by Keenan Ivory Wayans, and what it taught her about comedic acting.

“Keenan’s guidance was to be in the moment and have fun. I just read it and would see the space for humor,” she explained. “I don’t know if you can teach it to that degree, but you can certainly encourage it, foster it, and manipulate it, and I think Keenan knew how to do that. He gave me such creative room and support.”

She continued,

“The biggest thing he said to me and Anna Faris was “There’s no vanity in comedy.” That acknowledgment from someone who really understood comedy and whom I respected so much was incredibly encouraging, and that’s what enables you to risk it. I learned that kind of instinctiveness working with him.”

This past awards season, Regina was back in the spotlight as Paul Thomas Anderson’s film One Battle After Another became one of the most lauded movies of the year. Though Teyana Taylor’s performance earned her a Golden Globe, film lovers showered Regina with just as much praise and gawked at how she was all but ignored when it came to nominations. For Regina, though, it’s just another part of the job.

“In the moment, I always want to do great work; that’s really my goal,” she said. “If an award comes out of that, then that’s great. Things are developing quickly in this case, and the tension is rising every single day.

According to NBC DWF, the murder trial of Karmelo Anthony took a major step forward on its third day as prosecutors officially rested their case after presenting testimony aimed at proving the then-17-year-old intentionally escalated a dispute at a Frisco track meet that ended with the death of fellow teenager Austin Metcalf. Much of the day’s testimony focused on eyewitness accounts from students who witnessed the moments leading up to the fatal stabbing. Several witnesses described a verbal dispute after Anthony was asked to leave the Memorial team tent during a weather delay. According to testimony, Anthony repeatedly refused requests to move and at one point allegedly warned, “touch me and find out.”

An unidentified 17-year-old witness was cross-examined by the state and asked to confirm a previous statement that Karmelo was defiant when told by Metcalf to leave the athlete’s tent, saying, “Make me.” The teenager also testified that Karmelo put his hands inside a backpack during the verbal exchange.

“How did you take that?” Wirskye asked.

“I thought he is capable of doing a violent act,” the witness answered.

“Austin didn’t punch him, did he?” asked Wirskye.

“No, sir,” the witness answered. “He was trying to just get a hold of him and move him out.”

“You see the shove, you expect a shove back?” asked Wirskye.

“Yes, sir,” the witness answered.

One student testified that Metcalf did eventually shove Anthony after the exchange became increasingly tense. This shove represents the first physical contact that either boy made with the other during the dispute. Witnesses described the shove as neither especially aggressive nor insignificant, a detail that could prove critical as jurors weigh Anthony’s claim that he feared for his safety.

Prosecutors used the testimony to support their argument that Anthony introduced deadly force into what began as a relatively minor disagreement. Their witnesses largely portrayed Anthony as confrontational during the encounter and suggested he had opportunities to de-escalate before the situation turned deadly.

After presenting those witnesses, the state rested its case, shifting the focus to the defense, reports NBC DFW.

Anthony’s attorneys then called football and track coach Adam Linwood, whose testimony was designed to support the self-defense argument. Linwood discussed the physical differences between Anthony and Metcalf and testified about how Anthony may have perceived the confrontation. The defense has consistently argued that Anthony reacted to being physically confronted and believed he was in danger when Metcalf shoved him. Linwood’s testimony marked the beginning of the defense’s effort to convince jurors that Anthony’s actions were the result of a split-second decision made during a rapidly escalating confrontation rather than an intentional act of murder.

The closely watched trial is expected to continue with additional defense witnesses. Jurors will ultimately decide whether Anthony’s actions constituted murder, as prosecutors contend, or lawful self-defense, as his attorneys argue. If convicted of first-degree murder, Anthony faces a potential sentence ranging from five years to life in prison.

In an interview on the Reality Nightcap podcast, Drew opened up about her life amid the knock-down drag-out divorce from Ralph Pittman. As BOSSIP previously reported, the contentious couple went from racing each other to the courthouse to file the paperwork to a legal battle over whether Ralph could kick out the actress and her oldest son from a previous relationship. As she looks to the future with optimism, one person is worth a another look.

We get it, sis! During a game of Never Have I Ever, The Game alum was asked about any past relationships she’d want to revisit. Most didn’t make the cut to “circle the block,” but she admitted, “There is one if, you know, they called, I would answer.”

At first, Drew played coy about the connection. “It’s been online. Someone just posted a picture of us at the NAACP Awards together,” she said. “Do your Googles,” the host said, as a production assistant pulled up the deets about Drew’s low-key love with MBJ. Drew joked that it suddenly started getting hot as the host laid out that the exes were both actors, and family-oriented, making the Sinners star a prime step-dad candidate.

“Whoa, are you going to marry us or something?” Drew asked.

The Mind Your Business baddie said she’s excited to embrace her single era, but she’s determined to take her time while focusing on work and her children. Drew noted that she sees the importance to “build friendship first” and get to know each other, rather than the whirlwind romance that led her to get married in five months.

Despite the three-year divorce, which is currently at trial. Drew confirmed that she would still do it again. And that inspired the cover of her new song “How Does It Feel,” where she rocks a wedding dress with a bloody twist. However, next time, she would approach things differently to stand on business. In her marriage to Ralph, she had no interest in pre-nups and post-nups, but that set them up for a messy melee in court over custody and assets.

“Through divorce, it’s like no one really wins,” she said about the “emotionally draining” process. Her biggest concern is that her children are old enough to read the headlines and come across the videos about the split, which unfolded during Drew’s tenure on RHOA.

We are talking about a sustained, genre-spanning, director-driven wave of storytelling that covers psychological thrillers, horror, action comedies, prestige dramas, sci-fi and epic mythology, all with Black talent at the center. The cinema is about to become a destination again and the people delivering that energy are ours.

From May all the way through the end of summer, there is something dropping nearly every month that was made for us, by us and absolutely deserves our dollars and our conversation. The streaming era has its place but the films on this list were built for the big screen experience and that distinction matters.

What makes this particular summer feel different from others is the range of voices behind these projects. You have first-time feature directors stepping into major studio releases. You have legacy filmmakers returning with new visions. You have prestige productions from the biggest names in Hollywood placing Black actors at the center of massive stories that would have been casted completely differently a decade ago. And then you have genre films that are doing something genuinely new with horror, thriller and comedy in ways that remind you why Black filmmakers and performers have always been the most innovative people in the room (when the industry actually lets them operate freely).

The conversation about representation in Hollywood is only worth having if people actually show up. Every ticket purchased for a Black-led film this summer is a vote cast for more of this. More risk-taking. More genre diversity. More stories that reflect the full spectrum of who we are and what we are capable of creating. Shaquille O’Neal is taking his larger-than-life presence from the court, commercials and TV screens into a different kind of storytelling lane. The NBA legend has teamed with Archie Comics for a new comic book series titled Vengeance Unchained: The Legend of Black Caesar, a project centered on the rise of the legendary Black pirate whose story has lived somewhere between history, folklore and the kind of untold Black adventure Hollywood usually leaves on the table. The series is expected to hit shelves later this year and will be written by Stephanie Williams, with art from Ray-Anthony Height and Studio Skye-Tiger.

The official story follows an African king who is ripped from royalty, forced into slavery and eventually pushed into piracy while searching for the woman he loves. That alone tells you why Shaq would be drawn to it. This isn’t just a pirate story with a Black face dropped into it; it’s being framed as a story about power being stolen, freedom being fought for and one man refusing to let the world decide how his story ends. Shaq said he grew up loving stories about warriors who refused to quit, and he described Black Caesar as a king who lost everything before taking his freedom back on his own terms.

For people who never heard of Black Caesar, that’s kind of the whole point. Depending on which version of the legend you follow, Black Caesar was a powerful African chieftain who was tricked onto a slave ship, survived after a shipwreck and eventually became a feared pirate in the Florida Keys. Some stories place him around Elliott Ket, where he allegedly raided ships and built a reputation before later linking up with Blackbeard. Other versions say he sailed aboard Blackboard’s crew and was there when British forces finally took the infamous pirate down.

The complicated part is that Black Caesar’s legend is bigger than the confirmed historical record. Florida Keys historians have noted that the famous version of Black Caesar — the one who ruled the Florida reefs and became Blackbeard’s trusted lieutenant — is difficult to substantiate, and some researchers argue there is no solid documentation of that specific pirate operating in southeast Florida. What historians do have are records of Black men connected to pirate crews, including a man named Caesar, who was involved in Blackbeard’s final battle, as well as broader evidence that Black people were involved in piracy during that era.

That’s what makes this project interesting. Shaq and Archie Comics are not just reviving a pirate tale; they’re leaning into a piece of history that has always been messy, mythic and underexplored. Pirates have been romanticized for generations, but the popular image is usually white, European and filtered through movies that barely acknowledge how many Black people were caught up in that world — whether as escaped enslaved people, forced labor, crew members or fighters trying to carve out some version of freedom on the water. Britannica notes that Black pirates could sometimes vote, carry weapons and share in stolen goods aboard pirate ships, even though they often faced harsher punishment than white pirates if captured.

That gives Vengeance Unchained a lane to do something fun and meaningful at the same time. It can give readers sword fights, revenge, ships, betrayal and all the action you expect from a pirate saga, while also tapping into the bigger conversation about who gets remembered as a legend and who gets treated like a footnote. Black Caesar may live in that gray area between fact and folklore, but that’s also why he works so well for a comic book: the bones of the story are already cinematic, and the missing pieces give the creative team room to build something bold.

For Shaq, this also feels like another reminder that his post-NBA life has never been a one-lane path. He has been an athlete, analyst, businessman, entertainer and now a creative force helping bring a forgotten Black legend to a new audience. Whether readers come for Shaq’s name, the Archie Comics partnership, or the curiosity of learning about a Black pirate they were never taught about, Vengeance Unchained: The Legend of Black Caesar aims to turn history’s margins into the main event.

FX is officially heading back into the world of Snowfall, but this time the story moves from the crack-era streets of the 1980s to the rise of West Coast rap in the 1990s. The long-discussed spinoff now has a title: The Drop: A Snowfall Saga, and it is expected to premiere later in 2026 on FX and Hulu, with international availability through Disney+. That alone is enough to get fans locked back in, because Snowfall didn’t just end as another crime drama — it left behind a whole universe of pain, ambition, survival, and unanswered questions.

The new series will follow two familiar faces: Wanda and Leon, played again by Gail Bean and Isaiah John. That matters because, out of everybody who made it out of the original series with some kind of future, Wanda and Leon felt like two of the most emotionally earned survivors. Wanda’s journey through addiction, recovery, relapse, and redemption was one of the more grounded arcs in Snowfall, while Leon went from Franklin Saint’s loyal soldier to someone seeking a deeper purpose beyond the game. Their relationship became one of the few remaining sources of hope by the end.

According to the official logline, The Drop is set in ’90s Los Angeles and follows Wanda and Leon as they try to help push West Coast rap into the mainstream while gang wars erupt and record labels move in to exploit Hip-Hop culture for profit. That setup makes a lot of sense for the Snowfall universe. The original series showed how the crack epidemic reshaped South Central, destroyed families, created empires, and left scars that couldn’t just disappear once the money slowed down. The cast is also expanding beyond the returning Snowfall favorites. There still isn’t an exact premiere date yet, and FX has not revealed every character detail or how directly the new show will reference Franklin Saint’s ending. But the foundation is strong: two beloved characters, a new decade, a music scene ready to explode, and a city still dealing with everything Snowfall left behind. For fans who wanted more from that world, The Drop: A Snowfall Saga sounds like it won’t just be a spinoff for the sake of nostalgia. It sounds like a chance to show what happens after the storm — when the streets change, the music gets louder, and everybody is still trying to survive the damage.

The chemistry between Washington and Goldwyn was obvious, proving that even though it has been nearly a decade since the series finale of the Shonda Rhimes political drama, Scandal, the bond between the two actors remains. However, during their conversation, Washington brought up a shift she has noticed among the modern streaming audience.

“People are so passionate about Olitz, still,” Washington told Goldwyn. “Also, have you noticed this thing online where some people are like, ‘Now that I’m older and I watch the relationship, I’m not sure how healthy it is.’ Have you seen any of that?”

Goldwyn, who played the charismatic yet deeply flawed President Fitzgerald “Fitz” Grant opposite Washington’s legendary fixer Olivia Pope, couldn’t help but laugh at the delayed realization from fans. “They’re just figuring that out? Interesting!” he joked.

Washington pointed out, “They weren’t the healthiest couple. That doesn’t mean they weren’t madly in love, but they had some difficulties, which is why people loved it.”

He needed to get out of the toxic patterns… But I feel like he was very supportive of her trajectory—whether she became president of the United States or whatever her thing was, I feel like his real jones was to help this woman be, like… her best self.”

While their on-screen counterparts required extensive professional counseling to keep the romance alive, the real-life relationship between the actors has been completely effortless since day one. In the past, Goldwyn noted that they instantly “vibed as people and actors,” with Washington echoing that they became “instant friends” the moment they stepped onto the Scandal set.

Taking place June 8-14, Atlanta Champagne Week will once again transform restaurants, hotels, cultural institutions, and hospitality venues across the city into elevated experiences. A press release reports that the events will connect champagne, culinary culture, and community.

Following an inaugural year that earned official recognition from the City of Atlanta, Fulton County, and the State of Georgia, co-founders Dona Mathews, Jolon Martin, and Nicole Bradford are returning with an expanded vision centered on supporting local businesses while cultivating Atlanta’s luxury hospitality identity.

“This isn’t simply about champagne,” Bradford said in a statement. “It’s about creating experiences that generate business for local establishments, introducing new audiences to our hospitality community, and strengthening the ecosystem that makes Atlanta unlike anywhere else.”

The week’s programming ranges from intimate tasting experiences and culinary pairings to wellness activations, educational masterclasses, and luxury poolside events.

Among the featured experiences are Rise to the Occasion at Hotel Phoenix, Champagne & Caviar at Snap Thai Fish House, educational tastings at Vino Venue, and Bubbles Around the World at The Buckhead Club. Guests can also participate in The Aura Hour at Michelin Guide-recognized Bar Avize and an immersive theatrical dining experience titled A Toast to Death: The Last Supper of a Socialite.

One of the week’s marquee events is expected to be Atlanta Rosé Day, the official pool party of Atlanta Champagne Week, which will kick off pool season at The Retreat by The Gathering Spot. Additional highlights include The Miseducation of Rosé, Rosé on Peachtree, and a closing Jazz Brunch celebration.

For Martin, the week serves as a reflection of Atlanta itself.

“Atlanta has always been a city of creators and connectors,” he said in a statement. “Atlanta Champagne Week creates a platform where hospitality, entrepreneurship, and culture naturally intersect while showcasing the sophistication of our city.”

As Atlanta prepares to welcome an increasing number of visitors for major global events in the years ahead, the founders believe hospitality will continue to play a critical role in shaping how the city is experienced.

“Prayer,” he said in response to a question about why we never see his baby mothers arguing publicly. “Take them to bible study.”

Cannon is infamously the father of 12 children from six different women and is never one to shy away from public discourse about his life decisions. Most recently, Nick addressed ongoing speculation that one of his baby mothers, Selling Sunset‘s Bre Tiesi, is his clear favorite. Tiesi has been vocal about being Cannon’s #1 incubator despite them not being in a monogamous relationship.

However, Nick says that’s just a matter of her being the most visible of his baby mamas—aside from the legend Mariah Carey, of course—and thus public perception is that he spends the most time with her.

“They all should feel like they’re number one,” he said. “Every one of the relationships is different but like one of my baby mothers [Brittany Bell] is a doctor, she wants to be private. That’s her choice.”

Nick seems to hold a different idea than Tiesi. During a red carpet appearance she let it be known that she’s the favorite.

“I’m always number one,” she said during an interview with Extra. “All I know is that I got what I wanted and what makes me feel good, and that’s all that matters. As long as my needs are met, I’m number one. I’m happy.”

Hollywood Unlocked‘s sixth annual Impact Awards took place at the Beverly Hilton hotel on Jun. 5 and brought out a star studded list of attendees including Kehlani, SZA, Chlöe Bailey, Kirk Franklin and others.

The event has become a way for the outlet to give flowers to those who continue to inspire in Hollywood and celebs seem to answer the call to attend every year. This year, Hollywood Unlocked founder Jason Lee, decided to honor actor, producer and studio owner Tyler Perry with the evening’s coveted “Innovator Award.” Other honorees on the evening included Patti Labelle, who was given the “Legend Award,” Kirk Franklin, who received the “Inspiration Award,” and RZA of the Wu Tang Clan, who was honored with the “Culture Award.”

Meagan Good was also honored at the event, taking home the “Spirit Award” with her hubby Jonathan Majors right by her side. Her sister Lamiya and brother-in-law, R&B singer Eric Bellinger, were also on hand to cheer her on.

Tiffany Haddish, who may or may not share a baby with Jason Lee, took on hosting duties for the evening, arriving on the red carpet in a sequined gown to show off her covergirl figure.

One of the touching moments of the evening came when Kehlani, who was honored with the “Fearlessness Award,” shared that while her mother was in jail she only had two albums, one by Keyshia Cole and another by Kirk Franklin. She thanked Franklin for helping her persevere in hard times through his music.

Chlöe Bailey took on performance duties alongside Kierra Sheard, Joyner Lucas, Jekalyn Carr, Donald Lawrence and Sheléa for the event. Entrepreneur and marketing executive Bozoma St. John, 13-time Grammy winner Babyface, and Tennessee State Representative Justin Jones also took home honors.

The Impact Awards also shone a spotlight on Lee’s Hollywood Cares Foundation—a nonprofit dedicated to uplifting underserved youth in Black and Brown communities through programming centered around youth leadership, civic engagement, and personal development—and its commitment to change in Los Angeles. Donations were made by those in attendance.

The legal action was filed in the Superior Court of Los Angeles County by Six K and Archibald. According to court documents, the 31-year-old musician, born Megan Pete, originally hired Archibald to provide professional wardrobe styling services across a wide array of public events. However, the plaintiffs allege that Megan failed to compensate them for multiple high-profile appearances spanning a nearly two-year window from January 8, 2024, through August 2025.

According to PEOPLE, the plaintiffs claim they repeatedly submitted itemized invoices to every related Stallion business entity between January 2025 and January 2026. To back up their financial demands, Six K and Archibald provided the court with what they claim are official deal memos, which they assert were formally acknowledged by Megan’s team via email. In total, the explicit amount demanded in the lawsuit is a whopping $1,243,501.98.

As a primary piece of evidence, the styling team submitted a specific deal memo from July 8, 2025, detailing the wardrobe costs for the Pete & Thomas Foundation Inaugural Gala in New York City, an event Megan attended on July 16, 2025. The single itemized memo total came out to $53,800, which accounted for stylist prep days, assistant fees, and three gowns.

According to the complaint, Six K made numerous unsuccessful attempts over the last two years to resolve the outstanding balance, but they claim no settlement was ever reached. Archibald further alleges that the lack of payment has heavily impacted him personally and hindered his agency professionally, particularly because a significant portion of the missing money was designated to pay third-party fashion vendors who supplied the clothing.

While the large financial figures have dominated headlines, the rapstress released a public statement completely refuting the narrative surrounding Meg’s payment dispute. Instead of a simple oversight or lack of funds, she claims that an internal investigation by her legal and financial professionals uncovered deeply concerning billing discrepancies.

“My finance team conducted a comprehensive audit of Eric Archibald’s wardrobe expenses and uncovered fraudulent invoices, unsupported charges, and styling shipments tied to addresses that could not be verified,” Megan stated. “Those findings raised serious concerns about the legitimacy of expenses that we repeatedly tried to resolve privately with Eric’s team. Rather than address the issues from the audit, Eric and his team chose to file a lawsuit. The facts are on our side, and I won’t be coerced into paying charges that can’t be substantiated.”

The one-of-one jacket was everything. Designed in the Knicks’ signature orange and blue, the piece featured oversized Knicks branding across the chest, Finals patches, illustrated sleeves, a studded collar, and black leather panels.

It was giving sporty, bold, and collector’s item.

According to the brand, the jacket also included a Statue of Liberty graphic across the back and arrived as New York made its long-awaited return to the NBA Finals. The only problem is that fans can’t buy it. The jacket is not for sale. As the label puts it, it is “one of none.”

Karl-Anthony Towns, also known as KAT, kept things simple but still gave us a look. The Knicks’ favorite wore an oversized white button-down with tan shorts featuring floral details. He finished the fit with white socks and sneakers.

According to The Shade Room, she popped out and clapped back at degree demands on social media.

Bryant’s website claimes she earned a doctorate in Counseling Psychology from the now-defunct Argosy University and has a Master’s degree in Marriage, Family, & Child Therapy. These days, Bryant is only confirming that she’s “Pretty & Petty AF” in recent clips of her on a yacht and flexing her bikini body-ody-ody. The comments filled with questions about the doctoral drama and the Basketball Wives alum had time that day.

In response to someone noting on the that Bryant’s “still trying to find that dissertation,” she channeled Mo’Nique’s viral quote from Precious. “Y’all so smart and licensed, find the damn thing!”

What part of the game is that?

The PhD proof may be MIA, but a swooning supporter jokingly replied: “Looking very closely, I do think I see a degree.”

“Multiple degrees,” she agreed, with laughing emojis.

Another wrote, “Body is cool, but that can fade. However, credentials are forever, even in death. Body is tea tho.” To which Bryant declared, “Thank God I got both!”
