Coco Jones is officially in her newlywed era, and she is letting fans in on her bliss.

The Grammy-winning singer married Cleveland Cavaliers star Donovan Mitchell on August 1 at a private residence in New York.  Since then, Coco and Donovan have shared a few glimpses of their honeymoon and newlywed life on social media.

On August 14, Vogue “dropped” their digital wedding album, giving us a closer look at their big day. And the photos were so stunning that the couple had to share a few favorites of their own, filling our timelines with Black love, family, fashion, and one seriously beautiful bride. 

And yes, Coco looks absolutely gorgeous.

The photos show Coco surrounded by layers of white and blush flowers, walking down a mirrored aisle and posing alongside her bridesmaids in soft neutral gowns. In another shot, she and Donovan stand together dressed in white, while several gorgeous black-and-white portraits capture the newlyweds smiling, holding hands and loving on each other.

The wedding visuals are romantic without losing the fun. One minute Coco is giving full bridal portrait in her veil, and the next, we get a look at her standing alongside her girls or sharing a sweet moment with her new husband.

Coco incorporated Black designers throughout her wedding wardrobe. “It felt amazing to have so many different cultures involved in this wedding! I felt so seen, supported, and understood throughout this whole process,” she told Vogue.

Coco worked with Off-White, Esé Azénabor, Scorcésa and Brandon Blackwood to create custom, one-of-a-kind looks.

“Once I found the silhouettes that I liked, I wanted to intentionally collaborate with designers who I felt would personally be excited for me and for our wedding,” Coco added.

For the ceremony, Coco wore a white off-the-shoulder gown with a fitted corset-style bodice, draping through the hips and a long train. She finished the look with a lace-trimmed veil, soft waves and glowing bridal glam.

And Coco put her own touch on the bridal party, too. According to Vogue, she hand-dyed her bridesmaids’ dresses herself while researching designers whose visions aligned with what she wanted for the wedding. 

The pictures also give us another chapter in Coco and Donovan’s love story. The two first connected face-to-face in 2023, and their relationship grew over the next few years before Donovan proposed while they were vacationing together in 2025. 

Now they are officially Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell.

DreamDoll and Pudgie were the standout couple of the night, arriving in looks inspired by the iconic photo of The Notorious BIG and Faith Evans in their famous 1995 Vibe photoshoot. The two cozied up in a classic drop top car while Dream gave us Faith Evans in a blonde wig and updo.

DreamDoll and Pudgie won prom king and queen, but they weren’t the only duos who slayed. Actress Maya Boyd will take on the famous comic book character Ororo Munroe, better known as Storm, in the upcoming X-Men movie.

The young actress has been a Broadway breakout star since taking on roles in &Juliet, Joe Turner’s Come and Gone and Merrily We Roll Along; however, her turn as Storm will be her first film role. Marvel has never cast a relatively unknown talent for a lead role, definitely not one as beloved and coveted as Ororo. However, Boyd’s talent is undeniable and many are already waiting to see how she makes the role her own.

The announcement was delivered by Marvel Studios executive Kevin Fiege, who has been both beloved and hated by fans of the MCU for his handling of certain franchises, and follows the surprise casting announcement of the upcoming Black Panther 3 film which also brought in massive social media discourse. Still, more Black faces in the Marvel universe is always a good thing, especially with diversity initiatives being rolled back in much of Hollywood. Even the superpowered studio came under fire for canceling previously announced projects for a new Blade film starring Mahershala Ali and season two of Wonder Man starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.

Boyd’s casting also marks the first time that a darker-skinned actress has been given the role, which is finally in line with Storm’s comic book identity. Previously, the role was played by Oscar winner Halle Berry—who played Storm in four films—and in the 2019 X-Men film, Dark Phoenix, actress Alexandra Shipp donned the silver-streaked wig, drawing tons of criticism for the studio’s insistence on whitewashing the role.

Boyd isn’t the first person Fox has taken a chance on; however, as it was their willingness to cast an unknown actor as Wolverine, with Hugh Jackman in 2000, that would launch the actor’s career and resurrect the character completely. Still, the 23-year-old actress will have big shoes to fill as many actresses have been vying for the role in recent years and many fans have been begging to see the character onscreen again. It remains to be seen if a standalone film for the character will ever happen; however, Boyd could be a great choice to bring that to life.

Now, BOSSIP and Cassius are unpacking Hart’s 72 Hours on the latest episode of The Black Watch.

Today, the brands released a new installment of their editorial-led series that examines notable films, television projects, and entertainment through thoughtful discussion and cultural commentary.

This week’s episode brings together BOSSIP Managing Editor Dani Canada, iOne Digital Director of Content for the Men’s Division Alvin Blanco, executive producer Serita Wesley, and comedian-writer Richard Jones for a conversation about Hart’s latest comedy, its over-the-top bachelor party antics, intergenerational humor, and whether its underlying social commentary survives all the Miami mayhem.

“Have you ever received random texts from strangers? I know I do,” asks Dani. “But how many of those random texts have led to an insane weekend in Miami? That is the plot for Kevin Hart’s latest movie, which we are discussing today on The Black Watch.”

72 Hours, a 2026 comedy streaming on Netflix, stars Hart and Teyana Taylor and follows a 40-year-old man who joins a bachelor party weekend with complete strangers after accidentally being added to their group chat.

Despite the movie’s far-fetched premise, the panel largely agreed that 72 Hours manages to deliver an over-the-top comedy that doesn’t take itself too seriously.

“I wanted to despise this film,” said Alvin. “When I got to the end, I wasn’t mad. I’m not saying that it doesn’t have a lot of plot holes. It’s not an Oscar winner, but I was entertained.”

Serita agreed.

“I just took the film for what it was,” she said. “I didn’t go into it thinking it was gonna be this masterpiece of cinematic beauty. I just was like, ‘Oh, this is gonna be a fun watch.’”

Richard, meanwhile, also thought 72 Hours could easily compare to another chaotic bachelor-party franchise.

“I ain’t watched The Hangover in a long time. Let me watch Hangover 2.0,” he said about tuning in. That is what this movie was. If you like The Hangover, you will love this movie.”

Dani agreed, adding that it was ridiculous, but “so ridiculous that it’s actually funny.”

Of course, not every ridiculous moment landed.

Serita singled out a particularly drug-fueled sequence as one scene that took things a liiiiitttle too far.

“There were some parts that I was kind of like, ‘Ah, I could have did without that,’” she said. “Like the coke turning him into Ricardo Montana. I’m like, ‘Bro, I can’t.’ That was a bit much. I was like, ‘This is OD.’”

Richard agreed, joking,

“I hadn’t seen anybody do that much coke onscreen in a long time. He was sniffing like it was 1985.”

The group also said that they weren’t too sold on the romantic pairing at the center of the movie.

“Yeah, him and Teyana wasn’t really there for me,” said Alvin. “I was like, ‘These two together?’ I don’t know.”

Dani agreed, joking that Hart and Taylor didn’t exactly scream onscreen couple.

“Teyana and Kevin as a couple? She kind of looked like his daughter,” she said, before giving grace because of Teyana’s copious cakes. “I will say she looked good in the medical scrubs, though.”

“She did,” Serita agreed. “Listen, I had never seen scrubs like that.”

“I ain’t never seen nobody’s scrubs like that,” added Richard. “Are those tailored scrubs?”

While the central romance earned mixed reviews, the younger members of the ensemble received significantly more praise.

Mason Gooding, son of Cuba Gooding Jr., plays the groom-to-be, a revelation that caught Serita by surprise.

“Wait, I’m sorry, Cuba Gooding Jr.’s son was in it?” she asked.

“Yeah, Mason,” Richard responded. “The kid that’s getting married.”

The conversation then turned to the movie’s young comedians, including Saturday Night Live cast members Marcello Hernández, Kam Patterson and Ben Marshall.

“One thing I liked about this was seeing the fellow young comedians really hold their own,” said Dani. “To see them have this moment with Kevin Hart, where they’re going toe-to-toe with him with the comedy.”

Serita described the ensemble as an intergenerational comedic situation, with Hart sharing the screen with a new crop of performers.

When Dani asked the panel’s “resident comedian” for his assessment, Richard admitted the cast accomplished something unexpected.

“It made me almost kind of want to watch Saturday Night Live,” he said.

“Almost,” Dani interjected.

“Almost kind of,” Richard joked.

Richard had particular praise for Patterson and his rise through the comedy ranks.

“Watching Kam Patterson in particular, watching his sort of rise to fame coming out of Austin and watching this film basically be the culmination of all of that work that he’s put in, it has been enjoyable to watch,” he said. “To see him go from Kill Tony to SNL, and then to go do this movie not only with Kevin Hart, but with his SNL co-workers, it has been fun to watch him kind of blow up.”

He did, however, have one piece of unsolicited advice for the burgeoning comedy star.

“I still need him to work out, though,” Richard joked. “Hit a couple of push-ups.”

Beyond its cast, 72 Hours boasts plenty of comedy pedigree behind the camera. The film was directed by Tim Story, whose credits include Barbershop and Ride Along, and produced by Will Packer.

The panel weighs whether 72 Hours captures the same comedic energy and entertainment value as some of Story and Packer’s previous projects while also discussing surprise appearances from Mike Epps, Katt Williams and Andy Garcia.

Whatever the group’s verdict on the movie’s more unbelievable moments, viewers clearly tuned in. During its first week of release, 72 Hours landed atop Netflix’s global Top 10 English-language films with more than 22.1 million views.

Beyond the bachelor-party debauchery, the panel also digs into the movie’s attempt at social commentary, particularly its depiction of a younger generation more comfortable expressing its emotions alongside an older generation still trying to hold onto its youth.

That sparks a larger discussion about whether the message successfully breaks through the movie’s nonstop hijinks and whether 72 Hours could represent Hart’s attempt to connect with a younger audience.

The conversation ultimately expands beyond 72 Hours to Hart’s evolution from a shoe salesman and aspiring comedian to one of Hollywood’s most recognizable stars and a media and business mogul.

With decades of stand-up specials, blockbuster comedies, and business ventures behind him, the panel debates what could come next for Hart and whether he still has another chapter of movie stardom ahead of him or could increasingly shift his focus toward producing and entrepreneurship.

The episode wraps with a Kevin Hart trivia game that puts the panel’s knowledge of the comedian’s lengthy filmography and stand-up career to the test.

What was supposed to be a dream come true for Tomi Adeyemi reportedly turned into an experience she never wants to relive. The bestselling author behind Children of Blood and Bone has been noticeably distant from the upcoming film adaptation, and now, a new report is shedding more light on the drama that allegedly unfolded behind the scenes.

Adeyemi previously revealed that she would not participate in the film’s promotion, despite having spent years helping to bring her beloved fantasy novel to the big screen. In a five-minute video shared on social media, she described the filmmaking experience as “the worst thing I have ever had to live through.” She also said she left the set “hyperventilating and sobbing” and has not been able to bring herself to watch the finished movie.

According to an extensive Vanity Fair report, the situation reportedly became particularly complicated following tensions between Adeyemi and actress Amandla Stenberg, who stars as Amari.

The drama reportedly dates back to the casting conversation surrounding Stenberg. Some fans questioned whether a lighter-skinned actress should portray Amari, prompting Stenberg to address the criticism publicly. During that conversation, she referenced Adeyemi’s support of her casting and said the author had previously told her that her performance as Rue in The Hunger Games helped inspire the book.

Stenberg also discussed Adeyemi’s desire to see a world on screen that represented a range of skin tones. Apparently, Adeyemi was not thrilled about being brought into the public conversation.

Vanity Fair reports that Adeyemi later sent Stenberg a blunt message telling her;

“Do not ever use my name in an interview or video again. Do not text me. Do not call me.”

The tension reportedly continued once production began, creating an uncomfortable dynamic behind the scenes.

There are still plenty of unanswered questions, and neither Adeyemi nor Stenberg has publicly offered a complete account of what happened between them.

Fans are now speculating and drawing their own conclusions.

What we do know is that Adeyemi — who co-wrote the screenplay and serves as an executive producer — appears unlikely to participate in the movie’s promotional campaign.

Directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood, Children of Blood and Bone is currently scheduled to hit theaters January 15, 2027. And considering everything that reportedly happened before the cameras stopped rolling, folks are already watching this one closely.

The drama between The Real Housewives of Atlanta stars Angela Oakley and Kelli Potter is showing no signs of slowing down. With part two of the highly anticipated #RHOA reunion on the way, the two housewives have seemingly taken their reunion battle off the couch and onto social media, trading pointed comments and accusations over everything from real estate and foreclosure to their personal lives.

Kelli Potter shared a real estate listing that appears to show Angela Oakley’s investment property in pre-foreclosure.

The latest round of tension began when Kelli took to X with a post that immediately caught fans’ attention. Potter shared what appeared to be a real estate listing connected to Angela that was labeled “Pre-foreclosure / Auction.” Rather than simply posting the listing, Kelli questioned whether the property was actually the marital home Angela shares with her husband, Charles Oakley. She also appeared to suggest that Angela’s property was “in foreclosure and up for auction.”

“This is the $2 million house we’re speaking of?” Kelli captioned the post.

She then added:

“BABY This is your MARITAL HOME, not an investment property,” before following up with another pointed question:

“That was in foreclosure and up for auction…correct?”

She added in part:

“So before we discuss finances (which is weird, with your lifetime ban from FINRA and all?), My home, or MY real-life struggles…make sure we’re bringing EVERYTHING to the forefront.”

Kelli’s post quickly became a talking point among fans, particularly because it arrived on the heels of the women’s already strained relationship throughout the season. Their interactions have been filled with disagreements, side-eyes and accusations, and their reunion sit-down did little to ease the tension.

In fact, the social media drama comes just days after Angela accused Kelli of repeatedly taking “the other side of almost every issue” involving her throughout this season.

The timing of the post was especially interesting considering what viewers can expect when part two of the reunion airs.

A sneak peek shared by the OMFGRealityTV page on Aug. 11 showed Angela and Kelli continuing to clash, with the conversation turning toward their respective assets and business ventures. Based on the preview, it appears the two women still have plenty to say to one another, and their disagreement over the property may be just the latest chapter in their ongoing feud.

For some, high school prom might only happen once, but apparently streamers get a yearly do-over. FunnyMike’s Streamer Prom returned Thursday, August 13, bringing together some of the internet’s biggest personalities for another night built around the idea of giving creators the full prom experience — formal wear, dates, a red carpet, dancing, Prom King and Queen, and all the awkwardness that normally comes with it.

The event, produced alongside Fixated, was only in its second year, but it already had a lot to live up to. The inaugural Streamer Prom in 2025 became a massive streaming event, generating roughly 4.5 million hours watched on Twitch and peaking at more than 560,000 viewers, according to Streams Charts. Part of what makes the concept work is that there isn’t just one camera telling the story. Creators can livestream their own nights, giving fans dozens of perspectives as the evening unfolds.

For 2026, the prom returned in the Houston area at Imperio Ballroom, with a guest list that included FunnyMike, DDG, 2xRaKai, Yonna Jay, Chrisean Rock, FunnyMarco, Agent00, PlaqueBoyMax, Toosii, India Love, N3on, RDC World and plenty more. More than 100 creators were expected to participate, making it practically impossible to keep up with every stream.

Nearly seven years after Fort Worth police officer Aaron Dean shot and killed Atatiana Jefferson inside her own home, the city is preparing to pay her family $11.25 million. And while the money cannot bring Atatiana back, the settlement represents another uncomfortable reminder that a Black woman had to lose her life before the system was forced to reckon with what happened. According to CBS News Texas, the proposed agreement would resolve the remaining civil claims connected to Jefferson’s death, with the largest portions going to her two young nephews. Their money will be held in trust until they turn 18.

As BOSSIP previously reported, Jefferson was killed in the early morning hours of October 12, 2019, after Dean entered the backyard of her home while responding to what police described as an open structure call. Dean testified that he believed he was confronting a burglar when he saw a figure through a window. He claimed he fired after seeing what he believed was a gun pointed in his direction.

Except there was no burglar waiting to ambush him. There was Atatiana, who had reportedly heard someone outside and grabbed her firearm. Her nephew was inside the home when Dean fired the fatal shot. Prosecutors also questioned Dean’s actions after the shooting, including his failure to perform CPR.

Dean was eventually convicted of manslaughter and is serving nearly 12 years in prison. Now, the proposed civil settlement adds a financial consequence to the criminal conviction. The agreement still needs to clear some legal hurdles. Fort Worth City Council is scheduled to consider the settlement on August 25, followed by approval from a probate court before the deal becomes final.

Atatiana’s sister, Ashley Carr, made it clear that nobody in the family is confusing a check with justice. She acknowledged how rare it is for families affected by police violence to receive both criminal and civil accountability, while emphasizing that neither a conviction nor a settlement can restore what was taken.

“Nothing can bring Atatiana home,” she said. “No verdict, sentence, or settlement can replace our beloved Atatiana, a daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend whose life was taken far too soon. We have carried that loss every day since October 12, 2019.

“For us, accountability has never been about a single verdict, sentence, or settlement. It has always been about ensuring that Atatiana’s life mattered, that what happened to her was acknowledged, and that her life was remembered.”

The family plans to continue honoring Jefferson through The Atatiana Project, turning the grief surrounding her death into community programs and advocacy.

During a last-minute X Spaces session Thursday (Aug. 13), Cardi launched into a profanity-filled rant about the “WE ON GO” rapper, making it clear she still has plenty to say about their ongoing beef.

Cardi took several shots at BIA’s image and music before naming the artists she does admire, including Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Beyoncé and Madonna.

Things got more personal when Cardi revisited a rumor she believes originated with BIA. According to Cardi, BIA allegedly told one of Offset’s friends that Cardi had been unfaithful during her marriage to the Migos rapper.

“Let’s talk about how months later, your dumb ass told one of my ex-husband friends that I was cheating on him,” Cardi said during the Space. She insisted that at the time, she had never flirted with another man, kissed anyone else or even exchanged DMs with another man.

Cardi then appeared to suggest she eventually learned why the rumor had been spread, claiming that Offset had been involved with one of BIA’s friends.

“Come to find out though, I kind of also see why,” she said. “’Cause my ex-husband was [involved] with one of your friends.”

Her comments quickly sparked confusion online, with some social media users interpreting the remarks as Cardi directly accusing BIA herself of sleeping with Offset. Cardi pushed back against that interpretation after a fan account shared a recording from the Space.

“LIESSSSSS NEVER WOULD I EVER,” she wrote in response, appearing to clarify that she was not making that accusation against BIA.

Cardi also took aim at BIA’s relationship with NBA player Cam Whitmore, repeatedly mocking the age difference between the two. BIA is 34, while Whitmore is 22.

“You gotta date n****s half your age, b***h,” Cardi said at one point, later joking that BIA had already gotten her period by the time Whitmore was born.

BIA and Whitmore have seemingly been together since 2025. BIA fueled dating speculation in October of that year when she shared a video featuring the two of them on her Instagram Stories. She later appeared courtside at a Washington Wizards game, further fueling speculation about their relationship.

The latest Cardi-BIA clash appears to have reignited after BIA attempted to put another rap feud behind her. Earlier, BIA apologized for past comments about Doja Cat, writing on X, “I genuinely apologize for anything I ever said that was shady.”

An X user then compared BIA’s comments about Doja to her previous remarks about Cardi. BIA responded by making it clear she wasn’t backing down from what she had previously said about Cardi.

“I didn’t repeat S**T. This ain’t that,” she wrote, adding that she still stood by what she had said about “that other b***h.”

The exchange came shortly after another social media user resurfaced a video of BIA in the studio previewing her Cardi diss track, “SUE MEEE?” The post questioned how BIA could now be presenting herself as a nice person after previously taking shots at Cardi.

“FTB and I say it again. Next,” BIA responded.

The two rappers have been trading jabs for years. Cardi previously took a swipe at BIA on her 2025 album with the diss track “Pretty & Petty,” which included the line, “Name five BIA songs, gun pointed to your head / Bow, I’m dead.”

With Cardi’s latest comments and BIA’s previous diss track still hanging over the situation, it looks like this feud is far from finished.

At best, a proper surrogacy plan can help a couple struggling with childbirth to achieve the gift of parenthood by way of a willing woman’s reproductive power. Then there’s the worst-case scenario, which typically arises when said surrogate grows an attachment to the life growing inside of her.

Many are trying to wrap their heads around the recent viral case of McKenna West, a surrogate to a California couple who ignored their request for an abortion after a birth defect was spotted in week 20, and ran off to Texas to give birth without their consent.

West, who is pro-life, gave birth early on Wednesday (August 12). She previously spoke with Lila Rose of pro-life platform Live Action (see above) to describe her distress in being asked to abort the baby, who she named Gabriel despite recently losing all decision-making rights. Things were originally going according to plan up until the 20-week scan, which sadly revealed the fetus was suffering from hypoplastic left heart syndrome. With HLHS, the left side of the heart grows abnormally and requires three corrective surgeries very soon after giving birth. Per the surrogacy agreement that gave biological parents Nausheen Gilkar and Omar Ahmed the option to terminate should any “anomaly” be found, the couple chose to move forward with an abortion. McKenna chose otherwise, and instead a lawsuit has ensued.

“Lincoln Wilson, an attorney for surrogate McKenna West, told The Post she’s planning a full-throttle court battle to become the legal parent of baby ‘Gabriel,’ who was born in the Dallas area Wednesday.

‘She is seeking parentage of the child because she gave birth in Texas, and in Texas, if you give birth to a child, it’s your child,’ Wilson said.

Wilson said the reason the baby’s LA-based biological parents, Nausheen Gilkar and Omar Ahmed, currently have custody is because of a California order he considers ‘void.’

‘We think that once that California judgment is removed … that basically she is the mother under Texas law,’ Wilson said.

‘We are taking that challenge up through the California courts, and we’ll take it up to the US Supreme Court if we have to.'”

It would appear West, who is from Alaska, purposefully chose to give birth in Texas due to their strict laws on abortion and birth rights. However, time will tell if the regional clause works in her favor. As of now, a temporary restraining order has completely removed her legal authority over the baby and stripped her of any decision-making. The newborn, who she wasn’t allowed to see or hold, is currently in the custody of his biological parents, who also plan on giving him a new name altogether. According to their attorney, Lee Budner, the couple is making his health a top priority as they aim to spend as much time as possible with their child.

While strong arguments are coming from both sides, we can only pray for the child’s sake that a fair outcome is reached for all parties.

As BOSSIP previously reported, Fortune was discovered on Aug. 3, and nearly two weeks later, investigators still have not determined exactly how she died or classified the manner of her death. According to ABC News, the Mississippi State Medical Examiner’s Office conducted an autopsy, but the official cause and manner of death remain pending.

That uncertainty has only deepened the family’s concerns. Fortune’s mother, Christy Spivey, strongly rejected the idea that her daughter died by suicide. Spivey said she had recently seen Fortune after she returned from a family reunion in Kentucky, and what she remembers is a woman who appeared to be doing better emotionally.

“She was better than I had seen her in a long time. She was at peace.” When asked if her daughter could have died by suicide, Spivey said, “She did not do this to herself. I know my daughter, and she did not do this to herself.”

The circumstances have understandably sparked public concern, especially given Mississippi’s horrific history of racial terror and lynching. Fortune’s death is also drawing additional scrutiny because two other people were found hanging from trees in Mississippi within the past year. In a statement released to the public, the Jackson Police Department acknowledged that concern and asked for patience.

“We urge the public and media not to speculate or draw conclusions about the circumstances, cause, or manner of Ms. Fortune’s death before the Medical Examiner’s Office has completed its review and issued an official determination,” the police said in their statement on Tuesday. “Unverified information can cause additional pain for Ms. Fortune’s family, friends, and loved ones and can interfere with an accurate understanding of the facts.”

Until then, Fortune’s loved ones are left mourning a mother of four while waiting for investigators to explain how she ended up hanging from a tree behind an abandoned house. And with the official cause and manner of death still pending, there are plenty of questions that have yet to receive answers.

With today’s release of the official trailer, we’re getting an even closer look at the mystery man making Taraji P. Nearly two decades after audiences first met these relationship-tested friends, the crew is getting back together for another round of love, secrets, arguments, and uncomfortable conversations.

Netflix has officially unveiled the trailer, key art and new images for Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married Again?, the highly anticipated third installment in the franchise. And judging from the official trailer, these couples are about to learn that growing older does not necessarily mean growing wiser.

Tyler Perry is returning as both writer and director, while several familiar faces are reprising their iconic roles. Tasha Smith, Michael Jai White, Jill Scott, Lamman Rucker, Sharon Leal and Richard T. Jones are all back for another chapter of relationship drama. According to the Netflix press release, the film also welcomes Taraji P. Henson to the franchise, alongside a new generation of rising stars including Da’Vinchi, Armani Greer, Derrick A. King, Laya DeLeon Hayes and Jaden Michael.

And yes, the kids are grown now.

The story centers around Marcus and Angela’s daughter, who is preparing to get married. The original couples reunite to celebrate the occasion, but their destination wedding in Italy quickly turns into another relationship intervention nobody asked for, but everybody apparently needed.

As the parents watch their now adult children navigate love, commitment and relationships, they begin seeing uncomfortable reflections of themselves. The habits and relationship patterns they thought belonged to their generation may have been passed down to their children.

“Your marriages are so perfect,” one of the characters shared. To which Sheila (Scott) responds, “We didn’t tell you how unperfect we really are.” 

Because apparently, family drama loves a sequel.

The Italian getaway provides couples with a beautiful backdrop, but a passport cannot protect anyone from relationship problems. As secrets are revealed and tensions rise, the friends are forced to confront how much their marriages have changed and how much has stayed exactly the same.

The film also gives audiences a chance to see the original couples alongside a younger generation. There’s a new layer of drama that could make the franchise feel familiar while opening the door for a fresh group of characters.

Why Did I Get Married Again? continues Tyler Perry’s long-running exploration of love, marriage, friendship and the complicated choices people make when trying to build a life with someone else.

The speculation really picked up in June 2026 after Aiko shared a photo of her layered necklaces on Instagram. Among the pendants featuring the names of her children, Noah and Namiko, fans noticed an orange slice charm.

Why did that get their attention?

The orange is closely associated with June and has become a recognizable part of his personal brand. And June seemingly played along. He responded to Aiko’s post with a simple orange emoji. That was enough to send the internet into detective mode.

The Houston rapper got candid about fame, music, and the internet during Wednesday’s episode of IMO with Michelle Obama and Craig Robinson, offering an unfiltered take on artists who seem to go viral overnight.

During the conversation, Megan explained that after years of constantly recording and releasing music—including her 2024 self-titled album—she’s finally learned how to slow down and actually enjoy the studio process. Craig pointed out that plenty of people seem to want the perks of fame without putting in the work, and Megan was quick to agree.

“Honestly, it’s a little bit easier to do that, though, now. You can go viral on Instagram and have a terrible song,” she said.

As for whether that kind of attention has staying power, Megan didn’t hold back.

“Sometimes, and sometimes not,” she said. “The internet has made it really easy to be famous. Good or bad. I think you can tell the difference between people who really love what they do and people who just want to be famous. I feel like I fall on the side of, I really love what I do.”

Megan also has plenty of her own music to look forward to. Earlier this week, the Houston rapper announced that her fourth studio album, Megan: Act III, is set to arrive later this year through her Hot Girl Productions imprint. While the project’s official title is apparently still being figured out, Megan already knows one thing: It’s time for Tina Snow to make her comeback.

The rapper said she wants to give the alter ego a proper rollout and reintroduce Tina Snow to fans who may not have been around when she first emerged.

“I think giving her a proper rollout, a proper title, [and] a reintroduction to Hotties that may not have been with me since 2017, 2018,” Megan explained. “I think that this is gonna be a new experience for them. Tina is grown now, babe. She has been through lots of life since y’all heard from her last.”

And apparently, the Hotties have plenty of collaborations to look forward to.

Megan teased that the album will feature some long-awaited linkups, including both niche collaborations and tracks that could seriously catch fans off guard.

“Collaborations that’s overdue, collaborations that [will] shock the people, like really gag [them],” she said.

Naturally, fans are already hoping that means the long-rumored Doja Cat reunion could finally happen, along with potential collaborations with Doechii and Monaleo. One of the biggest differences with ACT III is that Megan isn’t rushing the process.

She admitted that the upcoming project could end up being one of her favorites because she actually gave herself the time to make it.

“ACT III is going to be one of my favorite projects I ever put out because I definitely took my time with this one,” she said.

Megan reflected on a period when she was constantly juggling work and felt like she had to hurry through everything, including recording music.

“There was a portion of life where I was so super busy… I was in a rush to everything. I was like, ‘Dang, I gotta hurry up and record these songs,’” she recalled.

The conversation also gave Megan and Michelle Obama a chance to connect over what it’s like living life under a microscope. For Megan, being a constant topic of conversation comes with some serious highs and lows.

“Being me is, it’s a rollercoaster,” she said. “Some days I feel like, ‘Yes, hell yeah. We on top.’ But then some days, I feel like, ‘Oh my gosh, I need to go get under my bed.’”

The rapper admitted there are times when she doesn’t want to see or talk to anyone because she’s simply exhausted from people constantly having something to say about her.

“But then I have to take a step back sometimes and realize I’m very blessed,” she added.

Megan said she’s also been working on expressing more gratitude instead of constantly asking for things in her prayers.

“I start praying and saying like, ‘Oh my gosh, I’m so thankful,’” she explained.

Megan’s journey to this point hasn’t exactly been easy. Over the years, she’s dealt with grief, friendship fallout, legal battles, breakups, and the pressures that come with being one of the biggest names in rap.

Following the end of her relationship with Klay Thompson earlier this year, Megan said she planned to focus on herself and move forward with “peace and clarity.” She has kept a relatively low profile since then while working on herself and new music.

She also opened up about the difficulty of grieving her mother while simultaneously being expected to remain Megan Thee Stallion for the world.

“When my mom passed away, I immediately still had to be Megan Thee Stallion,” she said. “And so I’m literally trying to figure out how to grieve, how to perform, how to go through everything I’m going through and still do it in front of everybody.”

That experience taught her that sometimes the only way forward is to actually sit with the emotions instead of pushing them away.

“I’ve learned to just feel what I’m feeling. And just feel it,” she said. “If it’s pain, if it’s sadness, I have to express it.”

Getting to a healthier place has taken work. Megan said she’s created stronger boundaries, cut down on the social media apps she uses, and accepted that not everyone is going to like her, and that’s okay.

“There was a point in life when I didn’t want to do anything. I didn’t want to go anywhere,” she recalled. “I don’t want to be filmed eating. I don’t want to be filmed getting coffee. I don’t want to be filmed talking to people. Like, just bye, I’m not going outside.”

She joked that she would essentially become a “vampire” in her room until it was time to step back into her public persona. Now, however, Megan says she’s slowly getting back to doing the everyday things she once avoided.

“I was definitely in my head for a long time. I was not in a good space,” she admitted. “But now I’m doing more Megan things. I feel better. I feel a little less heavy.”
