Trails & Sails: Lobster Lore at Maritime Gloucester

Love lobster? Come to Maritime Gloucester during Trails & Sails to get up-close and personal with New England’s favorite marine crustacean. During each of the one-hour sessions, you will see (and maybe even lend a hand in) how a traditional wooden half round lobster trap is made when Capt. Harold Burnham demonstrates this age-old craft. Discover many fun facts about the life of a lobster. All participants will have a chance to alternate between the lobster trap building demonstration and the lobster talk. Fun for all ages!

We are offering two separate one-hour sessions at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm, each open to 20 participants on a first come basis.

This event is organized as part of the Essex National Heritage Area’s Trails and Sails. The Schooner Adventure will also be hosting events onboard at the end of Maritime Gloucester’s Webster Pier. Make a full day of it and sail on the Capt. Burnham’s Schooner Ardelle at 2:30 pm. Sail tickets available here.
