Just finished watching a show on TV called Britain’s Worst Home. The reason it stuck in my mind is that one guy had a house full of computers, computer bits and all sort of peripherals. I recognised a Spectrum, a VIC 20, an Amiga … then I stopped myself. If I recognised all those different bits of kit I was running a danger of ending up the same way. I have an assortment of laptops in various states of disrepair. Heck I even have an mmf drawer from when we used to run The Joke Shop.

Anyway, these programs are interesting, because they show you how bad things can get. I know it will never be that bad though

It’s lots of fun having them around, though one has to agree it’s hard work. It’s also good that we started getting the house ready to be a home for 5 people instead of 3. We started off with changing the under-stairs cupboard into a toilet, all complete with ceramic tiles and nice fittings. We live in a big enough house for the kids to have their own bedroom, so we don’t need to move to anywhere bigger. What else do we need? Not quite sure yet; but I’m sure we’ll find out as we along.

Ever since the twins were born, we have been shopping more online. It’s just that we don’t have the time to go browse the shops and the fact that Tesco deliver to our doorstep is a godsend. Whenever we’ve popped out with the twins we spend half our time negotiating other shoppers and the other half stopping so people can ogle the twins (they are the cutest thing you’ve ever seen). Anyway, you can get whatever you want online, gadgets from eBay, anti aging product from Boots and all our groceries from Tesco. And they all get delivered to our doorstep.

Isn’t the Internet great?

We haven’t made any plans where we’re going on holiday this year. The twins are still under 2, so travel with them should be a bit cheaper .. and easier as they won’t be running around anywhere. As they grow older, it might be more difficult, but the great thing about having a bigger car is that we can pack everyone into it and set off on a road trip. It’s not quite a caravan or one of these motorhomes, but it will let us get from place to place and it would be a fun way to explore the UK. We may even venture across the Channel, though it depends on how much time we have available. Travelling by car takes longer than plane, but it does give you the opportunity to see a number of different things you wouldn’t normally see.

Then again .. driving around the country with 3 screaming kids in the back … we’ll have to see what the twins are like when they grow a bit older ….

Well, I don’t know if I updated you all that we’ve got rid of the BMW and now the Espace is our only vehicle. The truth it, we didn’t really need two cars and having one means there’s less trouble parking and no additional costs on licensing and car insurance. The Renault Espace is just great; it has 7 seats which means that we can fit the whole family, a couple of guests and a pram and the seats themselves can also come out if we need to transport something bulky around.

It comes very much recommended as a family car; especially as it’s so easy to get the babies in and out (as it’s slightly higher than your normal car)

Well, today we gave the babies their first taste of baby rice. They’ve had a taste of melon so far, but this was their first real “solid” meal. Aristea just wolfed it down, while Alexander was a bit more cautious at first. He seemed to develop a liking for it though, and quickly proceeded to catch up with his sister.

It’s good to see them move onto real food, though one of the benefits of breast feeding is that you don’t really need any preparation or equipment. (Not that it’s industrial equipment, but there are still bits you need to have handy). Still, it’s the way they need to go, and it was fun seeing them slurp away at their baby rice.

Here’s a great game to try, if you like the idea of a break-out style game. AlphaBounce is this sort of game, but has an added twist. There’s a story behind the game. It’s set in space and you need to explore different sectors, planets and the whole story as you go along. I wonder if games would serve as a good treatment for depression, after all, they do have an immersive quality that helps you forget about your day to day problems. The problem with losing yourself in a game however, is that at some point you need to get out and deal with the real world.

So maybe no .. it’s not the best place to lose yourself, but it’s fun anyway. Anyway, go check it out; you can play 3 times a day for free, or buy credits to play as much as you want.

You know, one of the shows I love on TV is Family Guy. I’m watching a couple of episodes as I write this post, and it’s the sort of show that can really get you giggling. And you know how laughing can sometimes be more contagious than herpes simplex. Well, at the moment, the toss for favourite show is somewhere between Family Guy and American Dad. It’s just that that’s the sort of humour I’m digging at the moment.

Funny though, how some of the best comedies are animations. it started with The Simpsons, continued with Futurama, and now it’s Family Guy and American Dad. Who know what will be next …

It’s been especially quick to see Arthur growing up. He had his 4th birthday a few days ago, and it seems like no time at all has passed. Which reminds me, his blog hasn’t been updated in a long long time.

We’re planning on going down to Paparazzi for a spot of dinner after the festivities. I’ll post some photos after tomorrow, just to show how much fun our little 4 year old is having.
