 Over 95 exhibitors and a possible 500+ brides it’s very exciting to be part of this event.

Here’s a few shots from last time I was there.

So a new year and new direction for awarding bodies.  This time with the Guild of Photographers.  There are many awarding bodies out there, SWPP (Society of Wedding & Portrait Photography), the BIPP (British Institute of Professional Photography), the MPA (Master Photographers Association) and of course the Guild of Photographers.

Having been a member of the SWPP for nearly 4 years now, (in which time winning x3 golds, plus reaching the final for photographer of the year 2010) I felt it was time to push myself a little harder. I’m still a member although I have decided to focus my energy on the Guild.  Unlike the SWPP the Guild only give the covenant title “Photographer of the Year” to those that have demostrated 12 months of consistency within their photography. The SWPP judge you on one image whist the Guild judge on 12 months worth of entries.

To be Photographer of the Year with the Guild you have to score high, month after month and earn those points.  Here is a breakdown.

Platinum  – World Class / Awesome (yet to be awarded)
Gold - Exceptional (so very rare)
Silver  – Very High Standard (very difficult to achieve)
Bronze – High Standard (so are not given away)
Commended – Good Professional Standard (a competant image)
Unclassified – Images that are not to our competition standards

Soooooooooo.

My first month scores x1 Gold, x4 Silvers and x1 Bronze.

A recent family portrait in Rugby.  This time with local businessman Brian Mcgaughey.

Brian runs a local interactive website called AboutMyArea which I have advertised on for the last 2 years.  He decided it was time to get an up to date session of his family and the snow proved a big hit with his adorable little gems.

Just a few from the session.

Recently I was asked to be the food photographer in rugby with some new dishes for Cafe Gnosh.  A new venue that opened around 3 months ago.

The food is really well presented and tastes just devine, all the meat is from Aubrey Allen the infamous butchers based in Leamington Spa.  I can personally vouch for this as I had the pleasure of sampling all these dishes after – thanks James.

Cafe Gnosh is run by James and Tony, get yourselves down there. The food is great and the prices seem reasonable too.
