PATRICK CHARDRONNET: SANTI

Boxer Sport #087 - KARMA
In 2012, BoxerRecordings will celebrate its 10 years jubilee. And to launch this furious year, we have invited one of our most favourite sound artists: Patrick Chardronnet, from the deepest Black Forest, who already did a number of fantastic remixes for us in the past, now comes up with his first solo release. &quot;Karma&quot; is based on the idea that each action has consequences, which is quite easy to understand as soon as you hear the first sounds of the track, when suddenly your feet begin to tap along within the rhythm, when you lift your hands in the air, and your hole body starts dancing in the light breeze of the sounds. And although &quot;Shanti&quot; on the B-side may paint a picture of tranquility, serenityand happiness, it is spiced with enormously deep bass lines and a pushinggroove. A track that will certainly pump up the dance-floors worldwide. The 10 minutes&quot;Karma Epic Mix&quot; is undoubtedly the longest track of this record, andcomes up with the most beautiful sounds you haven’t heard for years. A perfectafter-hours mix that might kill some of your synapses, but nevertheless willleave the audience happy. Well, here comes eternal happiness.<div class="feedflare">

Dear Sirs, dear honoured expert audience,Today, the pit lane is decorated with red carpet and golden leaf for twoexceptional talents: from the Black Forest Patrick Chardronnet for the Gui Boratto (BRA)-team, and from the Westerwald Dominik Eulberg (GER) for theExtrawelt-Team. Both drivers are concentrated. They are wearing shimmering overalls andgolden helmets. They get into their softly purring apparillos. Two pairs ofgloves at the steering wheel. The heat is flimmering over the hot asphalt. During the race, the Gui Boratto/Patrick Chardronnet-team focuses on deepbass lines and a constant improvement in performance with a slightly shifted ideal line, and only one pit stop. Inthree words: Mighty, majestic,thunderous!Team-Extrawelt acts a bit more flexible. Dominik Eulberg either puts on thehandbrake or drives at full speed. He is fast, he is flexible, and his elegantturns make the audience go wild. But in the end, both sportsmen share the champagne, and the after-show party will go down in the historyof the Tunig series.Ready, steady, go !<div class="feedflare">

But in the end, both sportsmen share the champagne, and the after-show party will go down in the historyof the Tunig series.Ready, steady, go !</itunes:summary>

Boxer #085 - BEYOND THAT HILL
Paolo Alberto aka Dusty Kid loves travelling, no matter whether it is a trip through his own sensuous spheres of experience (like in his solo debut album „A Raver’s Diary“ in 2009), or a real road movie…“Beyond That Hill“ takes the straight bass drum out of the club and plants it on the roadside. Beats are rushing past like power poles, a fresh breeze is blowing in your face, both literally and figuratively, and in front of you there is nothing else than the vast horizon, a shimmering dance of coordinates. Dusty Kid wanders through luscious, epic landscapes of sounds. Hence, it is not surprising that some of his tracks hit the 10-minute mark without being tiring or exhaustive. You will rather find yourself gliding above the sounds, yetstill close enough to admire all the wonderful details, and high enough to geta good view. The sounds are far more than just pure metaphysical mumbling or a series of meaningless loops and effects. The opener “Nora Nights” already starts at a tight pace, yet with a well-defined and delicately balanced structure and ambience. Every single second, every single sound bit is essential. In“Jknoussa”, Dusty Kid first plays the Grand Canyon tourist at the coin slottelescope; then, in the 14-minute floor hugger “Argia”, he turns into theadventurous mountaineer climbing between the jagged rocks along the abyss, suspended between heaven and earth, yet absorbing both at the same time. A little break at the campfire offer “Chentu Mizes” and “Beyond That Hill” with a rhythm guitar that invokes the ancestors under the moonlight, and help you to get mentally prepared for “Polybolo”—the monster that drags the mountaineer into the abyss, and hits the dance floor like an avalanche. Gone are the friendly and crackling nostalgic sounds where vocals and strings were exchanging soft cotton balls… now, time has come to start the survival training that every raver who calls himself professional should have passed in the acid shower.Constant knocking wears the stone: like the peak bagger who finds himselfawe-struck by the earth’s elemental forces, “Polybolo” reveals the purelonging, the archaic natural forces, only by means of pure synthetic tools. But soon after, the traveller gets his guitar back from “Cheyenne”, peaceful and organic, but still pushing thanks to precise footwork and a superbly arranged frequency spectrum. And finally, “That Hug” pulls out all the stops again to sensibly recapitulate the way the audience has travelled so far. With grand gesture and universal aspiration, this unique and unforgettable trip comes to an end. And once again Dusty Kid proves that he is the master of the album format. Hardly anyone manages to make his productions a consistent, varied and inspiring narrative. An ideal mix tape for some, highly imaginative cinema for others, but the result is always the same: it is a story to dance to, a road musical for adventurous people.<div class="feedflare">

 <itunes:summary>Boxer #085 - BEYOND THAT HILL
An ideal mix tape for some, highly imaginative cinema for others, but the result is always the same: it is a story to dance to, a road musical for adventurous people.</itunes:summary>

Boxer Sport #083 - ARGIA
After a rather long creative break, Boxer Recordings and Dusty Kid have returned with a rather unusual acoustic near-death experience: &quot;Argia&quot; not only is the title of Dusty Kid&#39;s new maxi release, but also the name of a spider indigenous to Sardegna; the most feared Argia spider can inflict a painful bite which can be fatal to human beings. Once bitten, the torture begins: the victim might suffer ofhallucinations, the musculoskeletal system gets completely out of control, and it looks as if the victim would perform a wild and uncontrolled dance. The longer the poison acts, the wilder the movements become, until the victim at first enters a trance state, and finally finds himself completely paralyzed. In Sardinian culture, there is a traditional dance that represents the various states of the poisoning, and is used as antidote against the spider bite. Dusty Kid, born and raised in Sardinia andmore than familiar with this tradition, comes up with a contemporary version to describe this centuries-old tradition: the slow-acting poison that gradually builds up creating hallucinating sound experiences until a trance and paralyzed state is reached. A state when the body stops moving, completely exhausted, when everything has been said, and when only the soft crackling of the lastrill reminds us that we are lucky, because: It&#39;s just music!<div class="feedflare">

 <itunes:summary>Boxer Sport #083 - ARGIA
Boxer #082 - DIFFERENT
Usually, a label compilation provides a comprehensive snapshot of the label’s current artists and sounds. Some call it showcase, other simply call it spring-cleaning. However, by digging and dusting through the darkest corners of the drawers, you sometimes, somehow and somewhere will come across a really great idea: a long-ignored idea that might have failed the club compatibility check then; or an idea that would not fit the label’s image and might have left the fans confused; or a rather different idea…The “Different” compilation is the result of the meticulous and thorough work by the Boxer crew, and otherness is its overriding principle. “Different” is far from being just a hoarding of leftovers, it is rather conceived as a poison cabinet with doors wide open, a playground for free spirits and artists, and an open space far beyond the dance-floor dramaturgy and its rigid rules or common expectations. Easy! Relax! And then see what happens. Fun rules, the daily business can wait. Some candidates involved in this project are already familiar with this freedom: Kreidler, for example, who come up with their full panoply of subtleties and the microscopic funk track “Venusia”; or Frank Martiniq who re-interprets urban myths about intelligent cars or genetically modified monster crocodiles living in the city’s sewer system, and of course in slow motion and high-resolution. Others are obviously enjoying their time off from the 4/4: Pig and Dan present charming, smooth Lo-Fi Pop; Extrawelt adjust their bore holes; Gui Boratto adds sound to psychotropic thrillers in the Brazilian jungle, and Florian Meindl meditates upon string ensembles taking a walk on the beach. Altogether, the quality of these tracks is exceptional thanks to the pioneer spirit that drives the journey into unknown territories, and all electronic music artists know exactly what we are talking about. Even some of the artists involved are somehow different from Boxer’s regular label artists. Nevertheless, the result of the “Different”-compilation is coherent and thrilling, and might as well be called a masterpiece, but this would sound too final. After all, no one wants to miss the magic moment when you look over your own shoulder, somewhat surprised. This very moment when you step aside and break up the routine of the supposedly necessary progress, this short moment when suddenly almost everything looks completely different.<div class="feedflare">

This very moment when you step aside and break up the routine of the supposedly necessary progress, this short moment when suddenly almost everything looks completely different.</itunes:summary>

 <itunes:summary>Boxer #082 - DIFFERENT
This very moment when you step aside and break up the routine of the supposedly necessary progress, this short moment when suddenly almost everything looks completely different.</itunes:summary>
