Adams and Jefferson Streets in Downtown Peoria are currently one way streets in downtown Peoria. The Peoria City Council Meeting Agenda asks the council to give staff direction on perusing a plan to convert Adams and Jefferson streets to two-way. Interim Peoria Public Works Director Jeff Smith is our guest for this episode. He’s with us to talk about the potential shift of Adams and Jefferson from one to two-way streets.

We’re talking with the city’s new Chief Information Officer, Sam Rivera, and Rachel Cook who coordinates Technical Support for the city and headed-up the project. The Peoria City Council approves adjustments to its short and long term strategic plan. The plan includes a vision statement for 2028, it holds policy and staff goals for 2013, and some five year goals. Peoria City Manager Patrick Urich is our guest for the topic. Peoria City/County Landfill Committee is facing a 41 percent budget cut in order to remain operational next year. Some might argue sustaining that kind of budget cut to the landfill fund limits its ability to remain operational. At-large Peoria City Councilman Ryan Spain and 10^th District Peoria County Board Member Steven Morris are on the Landfill Committee. Both join us for this Outside the Horse Shoe to take about the money management of operating City County Landfill #2.
