Thanks for the comments.

BCampbell: I guess I took it for granted that Alt-Tab was king, especially in the office place. And yes, tab and shift tab are great time-savers as well.

Gabrielle: Glad I showed you something new!

post: I don't think I knew about the CTR+H, thanks. Of course, in most Adobe programs, that will Hide guides or other entities.

I'll have to do a special on Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator/InDesign sometime.

Great info. I find myself navigating with my keyboard more than my mouse, just because it's so much faster. Two of my favorites not mentioned above are Alt+F4 to close a window and Alt+Tab which works much like Windows+Tab (and is the modern equivalent of a boss key... no, I'm not playing NetHack, I've got that quarterly report open right here).

Also, not a "shortcut" per se but the tab button is extremely useful in webpages, especially when filling out forms. It'll bring you to the next field or button (and Shift+Tab brings you to the previous), and even when not in a form it'll cycle through hyperlinks on a page.

My favorite shortcuts have to be for copy, paste, cut, as well as for underline, italics, and bold. Some of the shortcuts you posted I have trouble remembering, and I am definitely going to add this to my favorites so that they are easily accessible the next time I forget them. Also, some of them were new to me. Thanks for posting this!

WindowsKey+D is another way to get to the desktop (minimizes all windows), not sure if this is identical to WindowsKey+M but the nice thing about it is that you can press it again to bring all your windows back (no need to press shift).

Along the same lines, ALT+TAB has similar functionality to WindowsKey+TAB however it will let you select in a larger overlay which will show icons and (optionaly) a thumbnail of the selected window. I'm afraid I do not remember where the option is to enable the thumbnail.

A couple other useful hotkeys:

ctrl+H : find and replace
alt+F4 : close program
home, shift+end : highlight entire document
