Keep in mind, this isnt anything fancy, but mainly something for my family to see back home to keep up with me and Rivers Crossing...so the audio is just straight from our camera, no post production or anything.

Videos from U2 Concert

With or Without You What a week. I've never traveled in my whole life more than I have this past week. In one week, I literally stepped foot in 9 different states. Craziness. Im so tired but at the same time Im so excited about this upcoming Sunday at Rivers Crossing. Its our 2 year Anniversary and we are going to celebrate. We're going to throw a party. Stats show that a majority of church plants never make it to two years, and so this week we are celebrating what the Lord has done and is doing at Rivers Crossing and we are going to beg him to continue releasing His spirit and favor on Rivers Crossing because we are nothing if we do not have God's hand over us.

This past Sunday Paul (Lead Pastor at Rivers Crossing) and I flew up to Chicago and went to see U2. Just an incredible concert. It was packed out. Probably 70,000 people. I took some pics with the iphone and some videos (Im uploading them, so look for that tomorrow). Then Monday morning we flew out to Oakland, CA and took part in a GHC Church Planting Cluster, then went to the Monday night Football Game in Oakland....then flew back today.

It made me realize how important it is to find the right people for your team. I love the team I get to work with. And hear me out, we work our tails off. But its so great that at the end of the day we can also hang out outside the walls of our office, whether it be with our families or whether it be something like this weekend where Paul and I got to hang out some. Its just a really positive thing, and helps build out team.

Anywho, here are some pics:
<img style="display:block; However, I was thankful for the opportunity to share a little to our people at Rivers Crossing.

I spoke about Worship and Warfare. It was the last week in our series called Supernatural. I spoke from the passage in 2 Chron. 20 about Jehoshaphat. Long story short, when he heard he was being attack by an incredibly strong enemy, with great military might....he called his people to a fast, and he gathered them together and they worshipped. On the day of the battle, Jehoshaphat didnt send out soldiers, he sent out singers. The enemies couldnt stand these people worshipping the Lord and ended up killing themselves. When Jehoshaphat's people came up on the enemy, they saw that the enemy was completely wiped out.

Worship is Warfare. God goes to battle on our behalf when we worship.

If you'd like to hear the message, you can listen below or you can check it out at this link for Audio and Video: CLICK HERE. Paul, our pastor, is the one who is speaking first and from there on out we kind of did a co-teaching type of thing.

Set List 8/30/09 at Rivers Crossing

Started a new series this week called Titus. Pastor Paul is walking us through Church Leadership, and Eldership. I've never been more impressed with how eldership is handled than with Rivers Crossing. Seriously, its held very highly. If you're called to be an Elder, you have to go through a process of Pre-Eldership. This process includes reading and studying through Wayne Grudem's Systematic Theology, and meeting twice a month. Most of our pre-elders have been in this process for over a year now. Its just incredible to me how this is treated.

Set List
We wont be Quiet - Crowder
Beautiful One - Hughes
All Because Of Jesus - Fee
How He Loves - John Mark McMillan
Lost - Coldplay

Set List 8/23 at Rivers Crossing

Today we concluded the Supernatural series at Rivers Crossing. This series was INCREDIBLE...to say the least. Today we talked about the topic of Singing as Warfare. Pastor Paul and our staff gave me an opportunity to speak yesterday, so Paul and I did sort of a tag team teaching thing. I thought it worked out well. We talked about the story in 2 Chronicles 20, with King Jehoshaphat and talked about Acts 16, with Paul and Silas in prison. Check out the podcast on our website or through itunes (www.riverscrossing.cc)

I've never seen our church sing and engage in worship more than yesterday. It was evident that the Spirit was moving freely in our midst and His presence was overwhelming. We had standing room only at our church yesterday. Literally we used up all the chairs we had and had folks standing along the back and side walls. We baptized 10 people yesterday, then had 2 more be baptized after the service. One of those 2 had accepted Christ that day, and she followed in obedience immediately. It was just incredible and really no amount of words on this blog will come close to explain what the Lord did yesterday. Just come and experience it for yourself.

Set List
Freedom is Here - United
Doxology - Um...
Revelation Song - Riddle
Glory to God, Forever - It really made me pause think about how lucky I am to be here at Rivers Crossing. I know off the top of my head a ton of Worship leaders or even any folks in the ministry for that matter that would love to be under this kind of leadership on an everyday basis. They would give anything for it. People ask me why I think Rivers Crossing is in a season of tremendous blessing and growth, and my answer is because we have a pastor who is passionate about reaching a city for Christ, as well as a pastor who is passionate about the vision that God has given him for Rivers Crossing and will not let anything or anyone get in the way of it.

Rivers Crossing folks, if you read this....take a moment and thank the Lord for your pastor.

Rivers Crossing Set List 5/3

I had the Sunday "off" which was cool. We are blessed to have a couple really talented and anointed worship leaders in our church, so Julie Maguire led this Sunday. She did an incredible job.

Here was the set:

Sing my Love - Sara Mcmillan (Kim Walker version)
Happy Day - Tim Hughes
How Great is our God - Tomlin

Cover Song - When will I be loved - Linda Romstadt
(I had never heard of this song before this week, but the lyrics fit perfect for the message)

Sunday Recap at Rivers Crossing

Yesterday we kicked off our Marriage Series, titled We Want a New Marriage. We invested quite a bit into the marketing for this series, mainly because we believe (and the statistics show) that marriages are failing all around us, but that it doesnt have to be this way. One of our strategies was to make it known to all people that if they attended all 5 weeks of this series, they would receive a free date night on us. A nice restaurant and free childcare, just for coming to church for 5 weeks. Yes, this will cost money and will be an investment. However, it was very evident yesterday that people are hungry to know more about what God has to say about marriage (this series is not only for the married, but for the singles and the divorced as well).

We had record attendance at Rivers Crossing on Easter 2009. One week later, which was yesterday, we broke that record. We had over 100 first time guests with us at Rivers Crossing, with over 90% of them saying they would be back. This is incredible.

It was obvious from the get go yesterday that the enemy was going to try everything to distract us and to get under our skin. With volunteers being late and pushing us back on time a little, as well as our projector going out on us during run through along with several other little things that didnt go quite as planned. I can get really spiritual here and say that we just pressed on as if nothing happened, however, if you've ever been involved in church planting you know that this is not the norm way of responding when these situations come up haha. As must as we want it to be, when we are pressed against time and everything is going wrong, its natural to get stressed and tense. But I say all that to say this...the enemy tried, the enemy failed horribly yesterday. Despite distractions and technical difficulties, the Lord still showed up in Power and began a work in people's lives.

I personally believe that during this series not only are we going to see record attendance (which, by the way, number DO matter to God), but more importantly we are going to see more people saved and baptized than ever before at Rivers Crossing. All of this for the Glory of God. Amen?

Set List
Better than I know - David Walker
Marvelous Light - Charlie Hall
Everlasting God - Brown
Love Story - Taylor Swift
Your Love Never Fails - Jesus Culture Music

Incredible day

Today was incredible. One of the best services I've been a part of. And from the sound of all my friends on twitter and facebook (status updates), churches all over the country saw the Lord move. Great stuff for sure. The same was true for Rivers Crossing today. We had a record crowd, about 500 peeps which is great for a 1 1/2 old church as well as several people raise their hands to receive Christ. But we arent satisfied or contempt. Thousand in our area still need Jesus, and we will not compromise the vision that the Lord has given us for anything or anyone. I pray that we will stay focused, and thats my prayer for you too (the 3 of you that read my blog haha).

One powerful element for me today was before the service even started. To be able to have communion with our band was just an amazing thing. We prayed, took communion, and worshipped.

Setlist for 4/12 - Obviously these werent all together, but rather played throughout our service, even some during communion.
Happy Day - Hughes
All Because of Jesus - Fee
Lead Me to the Cross - Hillsong United
Jesus Paid it All - Umm...
Taste and See - Brian/Jenn Johnson
True Love - Phil Wickham
