1. Mothers Day was exhausting. I'm still trying recuperate from that weekend, so much so I can't even find the words to type up all that happened.

2. Watched The Office season finale tonight and I am not afraid to admit I shed a few tears. Between dealing with that and hearing my parents screaming at each other in the other room I felt like a hormonal teenager again. It didn't help that I'm on my period either.

3. We did the Susan G. Komen mile walk (not the whole 5k) for Tyrone's work. He works for Ford and they are a huge donor and support for that campaign. It was great to spend the morning with him and support a great cause. Every where you look around you these days there are multiple women who have or have had breast cancer. It's crazy. Afterwards, we had breakfast at Einstein's Bagels and I did some thrifting before heading back to good 'ole Utah County.

This was for sale at Savers just like this, frame included. Whuh?

4. I've been bonding with Jax the last few times he's been over. This kid is awesome.

Over Loan Peak it looked so dark and ominous the other day.

5. My brother talked me into doing cart wheels and having a hand stand contest with him because that is the effect he has on me. I fall for his stupid shit every time. I had not done either one of those things for LIKE FOREVER. I was so dreadfully sore the next few days.

6. I’ve been watching Freaks and Geeks on Netflix and am loving it.

7. Bill Hader is leaving SNL. This makes me so sad because Stefon has become one of my all-time favorite characters. See some of his sketches here.

One Friday night a few weeks ago Tyrone came home from work and asked me if I wanted to go on a road trip to Vegas for the day Saturday. Without hesitation I said yes and jumped at the opportunity to spend an entire Saturday with him. Before this day I couldn't remember the last Saturday I had with him where it was just him and I. It was one of the best days I've had in a while. Driving to Vegas and back in one day can be a drag but I didn't even notice because we had such a nice time. OK I'm done with being cheesy.

1. I feel myself getting all worked up like a mom defending her asshole of a kid who just kicked dirt in another kid's face because he though it would be funny, recently when people call pregnant Kim K. fat. Listen, I get it, I really do, and I understand comedy, but some people aren't just using her for a cheap joke some people really think she is fat. I mean, my husband can't even walk by a gossip rag with her on the cover with out saying something "funny" about her. And this is someone who he has continuously drooled over in the past. She is pregnant first of all, and when you take someone who is naturally curvy, is SHORT, has large breasts and a big booty and you take away their waist? Then yes, they will look like a round ball (or a floral couch due to recent events). I guess I get defensive because I know, I KNOW, that if I do ever get pregnant then I am sure I will look worse than her. I am short, have a big ass, and boobs. The bad thing is I don't really have much of a waist at the moment and definitely do not exercise as much as she does so I can only imagine what pregnancy would do to my body. Ok, I'm done.

I'm not exactly comfortable with myself that this was number 1 on my list, but if I relate it to women's rights it deserves the spot.

2. The Office. Only two episodes left. I am already crying. In fact, I almost started crying during last week's episode when Dwight FINALLY became manager. The exchange between him and Jim after was priceless too. Sorry, if this was a spoiler for anyone, but it's been a week already. I could write an entire post about this show and it's influence on my life. I admit when Steven Carell was leaving it was not as funny but the last two seasons have stepped up, especially this year it has been so funny which only makes losing them so much worse.

3. Velveeta Mac' n Cheese and chocolate milk are my all-time comfort foods.

5. Tonight on my way home from work I finished listening to this. I needed a refresher from high school (I think that is when I read the book?) before seeing the movie when it comes out soon.

Mad Hungry Cravings

I never pre-order anything but for some strange reason I did with this book. The photography is so gorgeous and the sort-of gritty side to it really pulled me. This is starting to sound like a sponsored post but I assure you it is not. I've loved Lucinda for some time now ever since watching her on Everyday Food on PBS. I hate her as much as love her. I want to be her but hate her snooty personality. It's about the way I feel about Martha. I can't wait to have my own kitchen again someday so I can start testing the recipes.

1. Last Thursday I was watching Hannibal with my parents, well actually I was watching in my hostile room which is next to the kitchen and my dad was watching it from the kitchen while he was cooking himself some shells and cheese. He came into my room in between commercials and one time in particular when a father and daughter were looking at an elk through a scope as the father was coaching the daughter to hunt. She shot the animal and it cut to the next scene with them in their vehicle as the animal was strapped to the hood. My dad very quickly interrupts and says, "Isn't that funny how they just shot an elk and now they have a deer strapped to the hood." I would never had noticed this but of course he picked right up on it. Instead of being caught-up in the story line of the episode (which is what I was trying to do) it quickly turned into a hunting lesson from my dad. He was watching the daughter begin to gut the deer on the table when the father told her to start at the throat and my dad was like "No, no, no, that's all wrong. You start at the asshole and cut that out, cut the penis off and go up from there." He went into much more detail about how to properly gut a deer and this is when I blacked out and began to have flashbacks of when I was younger, sobbing while I was forced to hold the leg of a dead deer that I failed to shoot myself while he properly gutted the deer like a real man does. Needless to say that was the last time I ever went hunting again. I can show you my hunters safety badge if you don't believe this happened. Come to think of it, I've probably already mentioned this already. I have NO new stories. I am now my mother.

2. I'm hoping to have some time to do a couple of simple projects this weekend. I have the itch to create something just for fun. I die a little more inside every week that passes by that I don't.

3. There's nobody to go on a bike ride with and it's the perfect for it right now. I would normally go with my mom but she recently had surgery so that's out of the question and I only see Tyrone from the hours of 10pm - 1am every day. I'm just whining, ignore me.

4. I don't trust those (The) Lumineers creeps, especially the one that never stops smiling. No, I just can't.

5. I spend most of my work day complaining about read receipt confirmations. YOU DON'T NEED THEM ON EVERY DAMN EMAIL - STOP IT!

6. I've had A LOT of coffee today. It feels like a Wednesday and it's only Tuesday. I hate Wednesdays so you can guess how my week is going so far.

7. Not having enough alone time, I know I've bitched about this before but you can consider this the whining version of "7 Things," is really getting to me. Even after seven months of living with my parents I am still not used to coming home to having people there that I have to talk to. That sounds bad and I don't know how to explain this with out sounding like a major asshole and I'm sure my family thinks I'm an asshole for being like this but with out alone time my brain literally does NOT function well. I lock myself away in our hostile room some nights but even then it's just not enough because I can feel them out there. Especially right when I get home from work it is really hard to just dive into a conversation without having a chance to breathe for a few seconds. Shit! I know this is coming off so asshole-ish. It's draining to me and I'm not sure how to pull myself out of myself to get over it. God!! I need therapy just to explain it. Fuck!!

2. I have a ton of merch pictures to take and the Sun is being a total douche today. The hostile room we are staying in gets some really good lighting. I'm hoping to catch a bit at some point today.

3. We might go see Evil Dead tomorrow, I can't wait because I've heard good things and it will be nice to spend some alone time with Tyrone since he's been beyond busy lately. We had plans to go see the musical Evil Dead that came last weekend but we ended up not being able too. I was not happy.

4. I'm still in my pajamas.

5. Tyrone is feeling the heat of working full time, going to school full time, trying to fit in homework, band practice, shows, family time and WIFE time. I feel his pain. I never want to go back to school. I remember how busy I was and have no idea how I would handle juggling all of that now days.

6. We're still at my parent's house. I have so much anxiety lately about moving out, like I've never done it before. So weird.

7. I only went to the gym once this week.

Compact Mirror Makeover

I've had this compact for quite some time and it has definitely served it's purpose, but it had started to lose some of the jewels on it. They were beginning to pop off pretty easily so I just went at it pretty hardcore (insert your perverted sexual innuendo here) with my big stick (I can't stop) that technically meant to push my cuticles back.

Before I removed all of the jewels I had planned to paint it black, but since Luck wasn't being a total c-word it turns out it was already black underneath. So, all I had to do was whip out my trusty white paint pen and draw my design. At this point, if you've been following this blog for awhile, you're probably thinking I'm having an affair with my white paint pen because all of my DIY's pretty much involve it and I can safely tell you that although we haven't gone all-the-way, we HAVE had fantastic cuddle sessions. Tyrone has been so busy as of late he hasn't even noticed the pen laying between us in bed at night.

After I removed all of the jewels there was some sticky residue left and I just removed that with some goo-be-gone and nail polish remover. The nail polish helped the paint stick better too. I finished it off with a coat of glossy modge-podge.

I know my design is a bit self-absorbed but I don't care.

Geometric Shoe Makeover

A pair of $5 canvas boat shoes from Walmart and a paint pen and you've got an original pair of shoes to wear all Spring and Summer. I'm laughing at myself because I bought boat shoes. Yes, they do look like Toms shoes which helps, but I use to make fun of an ex for his boat shoes so when I see them I can't help but laugh.

There's a pencil pictured because I though I would draw the pattern on first with that, but in the end I just went for it and free-handed the pattern with the paint pen. Free-handed? Is that right? That doesn't sound right, oh well, since when do I care.

I stuffed grocery bags into the toes to give some sort of sturdy surface to write on.

I'm only doing one of these posts because I feel like right now in my life, I can dump my shit out on the bed and have it actually come out clean. I've been a beast at keeping my purse tidy so it's a pretty honest interpretation of what is inside. Not sure it will last long though.

I'm sure I missed something.

And, yes, that is tidy and condensed for me. My purse isn't large either so having the pouches helps keep things from flying every where. I feel like some-what of an adult when my purse is clean - that's odd to say, I know.

1. I’m not sure if I mentioned this but, I got an iPhone 5 recently which replaced my 2.5 year old Droid2. I love it. I feel a bit like an asshole even complaining about my old Droid2 because it’s a very nice phone. It only started acting up after 2.5 years which is great for a cell phone. But, I was definitely in a situation where I didn’t know what I was missing till it was in my hands. Apps are beyond better on the iPhone and now you can call me an iPhone snob. I’m only a little sorry about that.

2. Allergies are kicking my ass today.

3. The time is drawing near for us to move back out and on our own. I'm having some anxiety about it because of the whole renting v. buying market. We have to wait a little longer to apply for a mortgage loan and rent prices are just out of control right now. The fact that rent prices increase when the housing market is struggling just isn't fair. It's predatory.

4. Good news, I did just paid off a debt that was a major, monthly burden. Yeay!

5. I think the perfect work schedule would be 9am - 2pm, M - F.

6. Last night I let Fred out to do his nightly routine of marking every bush, tree and blade of grass in the backyard. Since the weather has gotten a bit warmer he's started taking his time doing his business, it's a seasonal thing that I dread when it comes to him and his poops. My parent's backyard is pretty big and in the far back is like a junkyard so he likes to go back there and sniff and mark every damn thing. Plus all of the cats, chickens and the turkey he likes to taunt, makes for a pretty damn annoying nightly routine. Well, last night he didn't come back for over twenty minutes even though I was calling and calling him. Because it's so dark back there and he is mostly black I couldn't see him or hear him because he didn't have his collar on. His days of having freedom to roam are over. He cant'' be trusted because every night lately he pushes the boundaries. I'm dealing with a toddler dog, I swear to God. Needless to say he is so grounded.

7. I'm addicted to Sonic's grape creamslushies.

I am loving this new mani this week. I'm always taking pics of my nails when it's 1am and they're all dark and yellow.
