Sender appointed chief executive of TAM Airlines

Claudia Sender, previously vice-president of the Brazil Domestic Business Unit of TAM Airlines, has become the company’s chief executive. According to Marco Antonio Bologna, chief executive of holding company, TAM S.A., who had occupied the position since February last year, the two functions are once again separated so that the incoming executive can fully dedicate her time to the airline’s passenger operations in Brazil.

Emirates to boost capacity on Colombo route

Emirates has confirmed it will increase capacity on its services to Colombo from June 30th, with the addition of three more flights per week. The addition of three more services, which will operate between Dubai and Colombo on Mondays, Thursdays and Sundays, will increase the number of flights between the two cities to four each day on those days, and take the total number of weekly Emirates flights serving Colombo to 31.
