Magicjack uses your Internet service to make and receive phone calls from a standard phone. If you miss a call it also has voicemail, and it sends you an email if you receive a voicemail. The first year is $39.95 which includes the Magicjack device that plugs into your USB computer port. After that the service is $19.95 a year! I have had the service for about a month now and have been very satisfied with the clarity of the calls and the overall performance. Best of all it has a 30 day guarantee. So why not try it out, you might enjoy it as much as I have.

Take Back our Roads!

We now have a place to let our voice be heard. To improve the “envelope” of your home, add insulation, seal air leaks, and choose energy efficient windows if you are in the market for new windows.
Maintain the right temperature in your refrigerator and freezer: Refrigerators can use up to 20 percent of total electricity in your home. To keep your power bills low, use only as much energy as is necessary. The refrigerator should be set between 38ᵒF and 42ᵒF. The freezer should be set between 0ᵒF and 5ᵒF.
Upgrade your refrigerator if it is over 10years old. Energy-efficient models can reduce energy consumption by up to half that of a 10year old conventional model.
Wash clothes in cold water: With today’s cold temperature detergents, most modern clothing cleans just as well in cold water. Wash in cold water on economy cycles and always have a full load. Keep in mind, 15 minutes of presoaking and 5 minutes of agitation get clothes cleaner than 15 minutes of agitation.
Take advantage of incentives and rebates: Check with your local utility to see what incentives or rebates are available for the purchase of energy-efficient appliances, lighting or heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.

What is EcoBroker®?

EcoBroker is an education and certification program for real estate professionals who care about the environment and want to promote energy-efficient and “green” features in homes and buildings. The Ecobroker logo is the symbol of environmentally responsible and sustainable practices in the real estate industry. Certified EcoBrokers meet buyer and seller demand for real estate professionals with a real understanding of the issues that drive current market decisions.

The above information was collected from “Energy Star’s Home Improvement Tips” and Bonneville Power Administration’s “Appliance Tips” and used with permission as a certified EcoBroker.

Brian Hoots, Realtor Certified EcoBroker @ Speckman Realty serving all your Manteno, Bradley and Bourbonnais IL real estate needs.

Now is a Great Time to Buy!

It’s the beginning of a New Year. I join the movement of professionals pushing the real estate market toward energy-efficient, sustainable and healthier design/features iin homes and buildings. The “performance home” movement is getting a boost thanks to this type of high quality real estate professional earning the EcoBroker designation. EcoBrokers througout the country are forging this market and creating competitive advantages for their clients. With national surveys indicating that 80% of consumers consider themselves “green-minded,” real estate professionals with the EcoBroker designation are in a better position to serve the real estate consumer. From windows to moisture control to energy savings, I now have more resources at my disposal to help my buyers and sellers make better real estate decisions. The EcoBroker designation doesn’t make me an energy and environmental expert, but it allows me to better understand the issues and to convey this understanding to my buyers and sellers.

Click Here for more info.
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_wquETekSvPo/R3SSD21yhdI/AAAAAAAAABs/IeTdMHGZ10Q/s320/EB-Certified-logo-for-web-s.gif" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5148900868949706194" />

EcoBroker International provides a unique energy and environmental curriculum to licensed real estate professionals, leading to the EcoBroker Designation.
