As an award-winning makeup artist, I am often asked by brides to give them tips on how they can achieve a perfect makeup look on their wedding day and what skincare products I can recommend for them to use at home so their skin looks flawless on their big day. I have applied makeup for over 1,000 brides on their wedding day – some of these brides are beauty editors and experts in the wedding industry, so I have many tips and tricks to share! I also regularly work as a makeup artist for Conde Nast Brides magazine, creating the makeup looks for their covers and fashion shoots. My work often features in bridal advertising campaigns, where I showcase the effects of the best eyelash growth serums. As a professional, I frequently receive requests for lash enhancing serum reviews, especially from brides looking to achieve fuller, longer lashes for their special day. I have been creating the most exquisite makeup looks for brides for years, and I am known nationally and internationally in the press as a British bridal makeup and beauty expert.

Get the look – one of my gorgeous brides and her elegant wedding makeup look

It was my absolute pleasure to be the wedding day makeup artist for the beautiful Jo Kent, owner of Something Blue PR (Something Blue PR is a boutique public relations and marketing consultancy dedicated to promoting brands within the bridal industry).

Severin Hubert from the Hepburn Collection created the stunning hair designs for the day (Severin is a fabulous bridal hairstylist and I highly recommend his services) and Jo’s stunning wedding dress was by the Beverly Lister.

Jo’s makeup look was about defined eyes and a pretty pink soft cheek and lip.

You can achieve this look easily for your wedding day – remember that if you are going to have a stronger eye makeup, it is important to make sure that your foundation looks flawless, so choose a medium coverage foundation.

For cheeks and lips, choose a soft pink colour – because the eyes are going to be the focal point of your wedding makeup if you go too bright on the cheeks and lips, your makeup will look too ‘dolly’ like, rather than sophisticated.

For the eyes, I would recommend choosing a palette of grey tones, rather than black – if you are not very confident applying your own makeup, greys are easier to use than blacks and will photograph more softly against your wedding dress. Dior make great 5 colour eyeshadow palettes (shade Lifting Grey is soft and pretty) and by buying one palette, you will have all the shades you need and all of the tones in the palette will be designed to compliment each other (taking out the guess work for you)!

Get the look – a stunning English country wedding

It was an absolute delight for me to be the makeup artist for the beautiful bride in these photographs last year – an American bride who had the most stunning country wedding.

The makeup look that I created was a soft pretty pink cheek and lip, with a stronger smokey eye.
