When I decided to focus Bride in Italy on undiscovered Italy, and natural and cultural Italian heritage, I've also decided not to feature styled shoots anymore. Well, every rule has an exception and today I'll show you such exception: since the styled shoot I'm gonna feature today, has been created and made by a team of talented Italian professionals and artisans. The detail I love: they're all women.

Let's go discover a lovely place near Varese, in the Northern Italy...

La Madonnina is a typical greenhouse converted in a beautiful venue for receptions and parties, keeping its original style. So, the styled shoot theme is very "garden-centered", colorful and perfectly integrated in the natural environment.

Here the inner view of the greenhouse. The mood and light is amazing.

Arianna Oliva and Carmen Di Cianno, make up artist and hair stylist, created a natural and fresh look for the bride. They're both Italian.

All dresses and accessories for the bride are by Marianna Lanzilli, Italian dress maker and designer. Her tailor shop provides the full manufacturing of a wedding dress: design, sewing pattern, cutting, tacking and finishing.

Anemones, buttercups, freesias, are simple but visually stunning floral species: they spontaneously grow in Italy and are very common, although underused in wedding industry.

Caterina Maurini is an Italian flower designer: she personally grows most of the species she uses in her decors.

I love the way the floral decors look natural and in context with the greenhouse.
The bright palette was inspired by some recent trend and moods in Italian fashion industry.

The cake designer, Serena Siani, created a garden-themed candy bar by matching the colors of the cupcakes with the flowers, and by decoring the cake with real flowers. She's Italian, too, of course :)

And, last but not least: the photographer. All the stunning pictures you have seen today have been created by the talented photographer Sara D'Ambra. No need to say: she's Italian.

Whops, I was almost forgetting: there's also a man in the team. His name is Simone Pazienza and he's an Italian videomaker. There's a lovely video from this styled shoot, that you will find here: vimeo.com/120265224

The reason why I've featured this work today, is to remember that you can have an unforgettable wedding in Italy simply enjoying the natural environments and beauties of this country. But it is very likely that you'll get the most from your wedding, if you rely on local professionals, who are familiar with the features and resources of the area where they operate.
This way, you will be able to say that you really had an authentic "Italian style" wedding :)

Sunday special | Discovering Cetara in Amalfi Coast | Campania | Chiara Natale

Are you ready for another "Sunday Special"? For those wondering, it is a smaller post than usual, that I will post sometimes on Sunday, just to let you discover some lovely and uncommon places in Italy.
Today we will visit Amalfi Coast. Not Ravello, not Amalfi: let's discover Cetara, via the images submitted by Chiara Natale

Cetara is a colorful fishing village on the Amalfi Coast, popular for anchovies and tunas fishery.

Agnieszka and Domenico got married in the Saint Peter Apostle Church, a beautiful Norman Church built after the expulsion of the Saracens from Cetara. Its style mixes all the cultures that came and lived in this area. It is also the main church in Cetara.
The staircase leading to the church entrance is simple yet amazing.

Then, a walk through the picturesque streets of the town. Quite touristic yet genuine at the same time. As part of the Amalfi Coast, Cetara has, of course, a direct access to the beach and the sea. Lovely.

Did I forgot something? Majolica tiles, of course :)
I know: I said that Bride in Italy won't show Italian clichés. But, you know, some clichés are just lovely...

Real wedding | Pietrasanta: a seaside marble Cathedral | Toscana | Facibeni Fotografia

The one thing I love most about blogging on Bride in Italy: even if I am Italian, there are so many places in my country that I don't know and that I find amazing. Bride in Italy let me discover so many undiscovered places that are, frequently, very close to the place where I live. Today, for instance, I'm thinking that I really should plan a trip to Pietrasanta, in Tuscany.

Yep, Tuscany is not good "only" for the countryside, hills and wine.
And that I'll prove you, via the beautiful wedding submitted by Facibeni Fotografia. Follow me.

What I like is Pietrasanta: a beautiful town with a unique square,

a big city-like cathedral, and the Apuan Alps as a background.

Pietrasanta is a seaside town in Versilia (northern Tuscany), known for the production of bronze and marble: even Michelangelo, the great sculptor, visited Versilia searching for this precious stone.

From the photographer: "Tuscany is widely recognized for its hills, Florence and the historic cities and the great food. Few actually know the Versilia coast, in northern Tuscany, and its beautiful towns. Protected by the Alps on one side and the sea on the other, Versilia is a favorite destination for summer vacations in Tuscany since the '60s. A long 30 km road, also travelable in Vespa, separates the bathing establishments from cities full of boutiques, art and good food."

Again, from the photographer: "The wedding of this beautiful couple was organized in the town of Pietrasanta, a small but lively town rich in art and craft shops, art galleries and taverns with local products. The center of the town is the square, where in the center is the great cathedral, completely covered with marble outside and painted with frescoes inside."

Pietrasanta Cathedral (aka Duomo di San Martino or Collegiata di San Martino) is a 13th century romanic church. Many of the frescos, sculptures and decors found inside it, were bespoken to talented 17th century Italian artists, by Christine de Lorraine, Grand Duchess of Tuscany and wife of Ferdinando De' Medici.

Now, let's meet Carolina, the bride, who wore a wedding dress by an Italian atelier, Le Spose di Gio:
"It made me feel wonderful for the whole day. The corset, draped in silk chiffon, wrapped my bust leaving my shoulders bare. The skirt, fluffy and light, was made with several layers of silk organza. For the ceremony, I wore a beautiful tulle veil with lace edging; for the reception I preferred a less traditional look, instead: a fascinator with feathers and veil. I had fun with accessories: amber earrings matching the color of my hair, and amazing jewelry sandals by Sergio Rossi, that I ‘ve been madly in love with from the first moment!"

Carolina's parents own a loft near the Cathedral, so she could get to the church walking arm in arm with her father, across the town.

The photographer, again: "Carolina and Alessandro, like many other Italian couples, chose a religious ceremony in the cathedral and the reception at the nearby beach, inside a beach resort.
The church, full of charm and Baroque art, is a reminder of the tradition and history of Italy."

After the ceremony, guests moved to the sea shore for a cocktail made with sparkling wine and fresh seafood. I consider a great feature for an art venue being so close to te sea: Carolina and Alessandro could have a very traditional ceremony, followed by a fresh and informal reception.

Notable fact: do you like the groom's suite? Well, it has been personally designed and sewed by the bride's father, a fashion designer. Even this is Italy: if you're Italian, sometimes you have an artist / artisan / designer between your clotest relatives :)

I leave you with the peaceful view of Pietrasanta seashore, just to remember that summer is almost there.

Engagement | Italy's Little Tibet: Campo Imperatore | Abruzzo | Wedding Reporter

Hello everyone. For today's feature we'll travel to Tibet... or Scotland if you prefer so.
Just kidding: even if most of the landscapes I'm gonna show you may look like other parts of the world... this is Italy, baby. This is Abruzzo.

The talented, Italian photographer Giancarlo Malandra (Wedding Reporter) shared with us a gorgeous engagement session in Campo Imperatore (AQ). Campo Imperatore is a high plateau with mountain grassland, and it is the largest plateau in the Apennines.

Now follow me, and let's discover why it is also called "Little Tibet"...

Here they are: Silvia and Jason. Silvia is italian, Jason comes from Missouri. They elected Abruzzo as destination for their wedding, so their engagement session took place there, too.

Campo Imperatore is part of National Park of Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga.
It's an area very rich in wildlife, good for bird watching, with a variety of endemic plants.

The access to the plateau (1800 meters above sea level) is granted by local infrastructures (Gran Sasso cable car is the most important).

Carduus affinis (also known as Abruzzo's thistle) is a very typical plant up there.
It is also used for the tasty thistle soup :)

The second part of the session takes place in another amazing location: Rocca Calascio. It is the highest fortress in the Apennines and was the location for some popular movies, like Ladyhawke (final scene), The Name of the Rose and The American.

Built in 10th century, in stone and masonry, at 1460 mt above sea level, it was used as a military fort and overhangs an ancient village, nowaday uninhabited.

Near the fortress, on the path leading to Santo Stefano di Sessanio, you may notice an octagonal building: it is Santa Maria della Pietà, a 16th century church.

According to the myth, it has been built in the same spot where local people defeated a gang of brigands.

The castle of Rocca Calascio was included by the National Geographic Magazine among the 15 most beautiful in the world. Even if you aren't planning a wedding, it deserves a trip.

Sunday special | Discovering Lecce | Puglia | Antonio Zanata

Welcome to our first "Bride in Italy Sunday special".
Sometimes, on Sunday, I'll post a smaller post, with less photos than usual: a quick virtual tour to let you discover some beautiful places in Italy.

Today is the day of Lecce: Apulia is not only Salento. This region is also rich in cities of art.
Let's discover it via the images of the talented photographer Antonio Zanata.

Michela and Marco had their portrait session taken in the Old Town of Lecce, mainly in Sant'Oronzo square (Saint Orontius of Lecce is the saint patron of Lecce). You can see the Saint statue on the left and Palazzo del Seggio (aka "Il sedile") behind the bride and groom.

Below: the Cathedral's bell tower, the entrance of the Saint'Irene of Lecce's church, and the Celestine's Palace: once a Convent, the gorgeous baroque building today hosts the Government House and Provincial Administration.

And finally, a pleasant walk through the narrow streets of the Old Town. Lecce is an authentic baroque jewel. Every corner hiddens some precious spot to discover. Lecce is also known as "the Southern Florence" or even "the Baroque Florence" and it very easy understanding why.

Thanks to Michela and Marco for sharing their photos with us: I think they've had a great idea taking advantage of Lecce's natural beauty for their portraits.
Time to plan a trip to Apulia and visit this amazing city, don't you think?

Real wedding | A deeply spiritual love, in Assisi countryside | Umbria | Sugar Cookies

After a not-so-short break, today I'll let you discover Umbria, an Italian region full of nature, arts and spirituality. With its naturally rich environment, Umbria can always charm its visitors, tourists and pilgrims.
The amazing beauty of umbrian landscapes, mixed to its immense cultural and spiritual heritage, make its cities (Assisi above all) an appetible destination for an unique and complete experience.

Micol and Daniele, both Italians, celebrated their wedding in Santa Maria Degli Angeli, a suburb of Assisi, as you'll discover via the vivid images by Sugar Cookies photographers.

The whole Umbria region, but especially the area surrounding Assisi, has a great religious and spiritual tradition, due to the connection with history and life of St. Francis.

Santa Maria degli Angeli hosts a variety of anecdotes related to the Saint. For instance, here is found the thornless rose garden where he rolled, naked, in an attempt to overcome temptation.

Micol and Daniele know each other since they were children: their love is deep and long lasting and their wedding has a great spiritual meaning. That's why they have chosen such a spiritual place to celebrate it.

The ceremony took place at the church of the nuns Franciscan Missionaries of Mary (Chiesa delle Suore Bianche). Its entrance is very simple, while its interior is enriched with frescos portraying scenes of Christ's life.

This is a very sweet part of the celebration: after the Elevation, the groom (instead of the priest) gives the Host and the Chalice to the bride, and vice versa.

After the ceremony, the couple took advantage of the late-afternoon light, very warm in summertime.
The bride told: "On leaving the Church, the sunlight became an active part of the whole organisation and it seemed as though dancing sun rays appeared from behind an invisible back-drop, filling the hearts of everyone with love and joy."

They've had their portraits taken in the nuns garden, a place they are very fond to.
On the background, you can recognize the majestic Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli and its dome.

I love this light and feeling. Thanks a lot to Micol and Daniele (and their photographers Sugar Cookies of course) for sharing their experience and their love with us.

Real Wedding | The romantics of a 15th Century Monastery | Lombardia | Sarah Ferrara

When I traveled to Scotland, I saw a few weddings held in ancient castles, and I thought: what a smart utilization of territorial heritage, in Italy we do not take advantage of our cultural goods this way. Well I was, of course, wrong: my opinion was simply hasty and superficial since what I didn't know, is that in Italy there are plenty of historic buildings used for (and preserved due to) corporate and private events, weddings included.
Actually this is a great way of conservation of all legacies of old ages, since there's someone involved in taking care of places otherwise neglected (maybe you've heard something about our not-so-recent issues with our public protection of cultural heritage), and also it gives the opportunity of experience historic places as living places instead of aseptic museums.

So, the place we will visit today via the lovely photos by Sarah Ferrara, is exactly one of such places: a 15th Century Monastery in Medole, northern Italy.

The Convento dell'Annunciata (Monastery of the Annunciation) was originally a private oratory, then donated to St. Agostino's Hermits: it rises in the woods, so it was a perfect place for the isolation needed by a Monastery.
Nowaday, it has been restaured and enriched by a natural park that hosts local flora and fauna.
The original bedrooms are an agreeable place where a bride can get ready in peace and relaxation.

The inner garden is just so peaceful and lovely. The nice thing, is that the Monastery has been acknowledged as a wedding venue by the town council, so there you can have either a religious or a civil ceremony and they will both be accepted by law.

The environment is severe and romantic at the same time: this is the result of mixing original stone walls with very accurate greenery.
I find it is perfect for intimate weddings. Sandy and Michele opted for a civil outdoor ceremony.

Each building of the complex has a different style and mood, so a couple doesn't have to travel elsewhere to have a great portrait session.

But the part I love most is the Gothic cloister: actually, almost every religious building in Italy has a cloister and it is usually the part that's worth the visit most.
Especially when you can experience it in an easy way.

The Convento dell'Annunciata is located in a territory rich in natural and artistic beauties, very appreciated by visitors from abroad. It is located near to Garda Lake, to Verona (Romeo and Juliet's homeland), to Mantua, the Renaissance capital of Gonzaga, in Brescia, famous for its Roman remains and Lombard. The surrounding countryside is enriched by castles, medieval towns, historic villas, ancient churches hosting a precious artistic heritage, to be discovered beyond mass tourism.

Let's do a test: what do you imagine when I say "Venice"? Gondolas, red and white striped shirts, the Bridge of Sighs, venetian masks, don't you?
Today I'd like to show you another side of Venice, and Luca, talented Venice-based photographer, will help me in this matter.
Let's meet Eunice and Anita, two lovely ladies from Hong Kong flying to Venice for their honeymoon and trash the dress session.

"Venice is the most romantic place in the world, but it's even better when there is no one around".

Let's start with a good hint: if you're planning to have a portrait session in such a popular place like Venice (but the same happens for Rome, Florence and so on), it could be a good idea hiring a local photographer. Yep, to be as clear as possible: not one who only knows the place via touristic guides :)

The reason is, as you can easily guess by the above quote, that popular places are often very crowded. And a local knows exactly what you should avoid in order to get all the best from your session.

Know: depict Italy as you imagine it. Sunny, isn't it?

Well, one thing Luca pointed out to me (and I totally agree) is that the perfect weather for a portrait session in Venice is when it rains a little.

The first reason, is that the pavement gets wet and you'll have those lovely reflections on the floor. The bonus reason, is that you'll have less crowd, even in the most popular landmarks.
Eunice and Anita have been quite smart, by traveling to Venice in Frebruary: that means that most of the usual touristic crowd is missing. That means also that everything is a little more gray. And romantic, indeed. But, if you want to add a stroke of color to your portraits, what about visiting the outdoor fruit market?

Our lovely ladies then had a walk nearby the Museum of Natural History. No need of Bridges of Sighs nor Bridges of Rialto, anymore :)

This area of Venice is simply charming.

But, do you imagine Venice like an immense outdoor Museum, just to visit and look at?
Nope, Venice is a city you'd like to experience. Maybe, stopping by and enjoyng a warm cappuccino?

The last one is my fav.
On the background you can see the amazing church of Santa Maria della Salute (XVII century) and it's domes. The view is from the dockings in front of Palazzo Ducale, in a spot where tourists usually don't go.

I know: when one visits a major destination like Venice, it's quite reasonable to have in mind some stereotyped images. But really: do you feel that the one I've featured today is somehow "less Venice" than if there was a red and white striped gondoliere? :)

Real Wedding | Discovering Middle Ages in Bominaco | Abruzzo | Wedding Reporter

Are you ready for a brand new wedding? Be warned, this one is amazing. It comes from an often underestimated, beautiful Italian region: Abruzzo. You can't probably imagine how many treasures are hidden in this land; and, even if you can, I'm pretty sure I'll be able to amaze you, anyway :)
Antonella and Gabriele came to Abruzzo to celebrate their origins (they live now elsewhere) and had their wedding into the ancient church of Santa Maria Assunta in Bominaco.

So, let's discover that land, described as "forte e gentile" (strong and gentle) by the Italian writer Primo Levi.

Bominaco is a small Middle Ages town at 1.000 mt above sea level. The early Christian church of Santa Maria Assunta will welcome you with the typical, raw look of its stone facade and III-IV Century bas reliefs.

Inside, everything is all about stone and grace, in a balanced mix of decorations and light. Every capitello is an astonishing explosion of details. You won't really need so many flowers to decor such a beautiful church.

Outside, the simple, plain stone walls are most romantic backdrop for any portrait session.
Notice how wild nature merges with architecture? It's all about beauty of contrasts.

But the most amazing part is, once again, inside: the Oratory of San Pellegrino (XIII Century) featuring frescoes that are a stunning example of Abruzzo's medieval paintings. Here you will find histories about Jesus Christ, San Pellegrino and several other saints lifes.
San Pellegrino was a martyr and he is widely revered in this area.
The way religion deeply permeates all aspects of arts and everyday lifes, in any historical time, is a genuine Italian feature, no matter if you believe or you don't :)

Did you enjoy the beauty of the ceremony venue? Get ready for rest, since the reception venue is another stunning historic site: the Monastery-Fortress of Santo Spirito d'Ocre.
As the name itself says, it was once a Cistercian Monastery (one of the earlier Cistercian settlements in whole Abruzzo) and it is also a Fortress, since, positioned below the burg of Ocre, it used to be a strategic fortified outpost. The venue stands on the foundations of the ancient Monastery and now is an event venue providing joy both for your eyes, your brain and your tummy, since it features starred chefs :)

Again, do you think you've seen enough? There's something more to see.
Let's discover the ancient church and its frescos. The one on the end wall is ascribed to Giovanni Paolo Mausonio (XVI Century) and depicts a bright, colorful "Immacolata Concezione" (the Virgin birth).

Imagine how could you feel, having your wedding cake served right there...

Destination Wedding | The Colors of Procida | Campania | Tania Lerro Photography

Welcome back on "Bride in Italy 2.0" :)
I'm very excited about this first feature after our restart.
I'm gonna show you one of those very unique places in Italy, by the pictures of the talented Tania Lerro.
Meet Katrina and Riccardo: she is Australian, he is English with Italian origins, and they've married into the amazing, colorful island of Procida, in the gulf of Naples.

Two thing you'll love most about Procida, are the bright color and the (almost) perpetual sun.
And then you'll notice the Mediterranean maquis and the traditional blue pottery, and will fall in love again.

But, the most interesting part is the ceremony, that has been held at the gorgeous Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie (Our Lady of Grace).
A Baroque beauty built in 1679, from the remains of a chapel devoted to the Virgin, as a (traditionally Italian) thankfulness symbol and offering, for graces received from the Virgin Mary.
There are several myths and miracles connected to this place, and even if you don't trust the legend about a fisherman saved from a sea monster attack, you cannot remain indifferent to the frescos and paintings and artistic beauty of such church.

I mean: don't you want to get married into a place that is just "beautiful"?

Or, wouldn't you prefer a place that is beautiful...
and also has a story (or lots of stories) to tell?

The portrait session is a lovely walk in the narrow and colorful streets of the island, up to the top of Terra Murata hill and its breathtaking viewpoint.

Also the reception venue has got something special: La Suite is a SPA resort born from the "conservative” renovation of a XVIII century noble mansion.
The garden is created out of the ancient orchard and cleverly mixes exotic plants with the characteristic Mediterranean flora.

I also love how they've covered the wedding cake with lemon branches and leaves.

Bonus tip: want to know more deeply this amazing island and its islander lifes?
Then you cannot miss L'isola di Arturo, a novel by the italian writer Elsa Morante.

News | A quick note for non-Italian readers

As I've announced two days ago (in Italian), Bride in Italy is restarting with a slight change of route.
I'll feature less no-matters-how-cool accessories and decors, and more breathtaking landscapes, ancient and uniques churces, gorgeous locations.

I'd like to show to all you, friends from abroad (but, also, to my lazy compatriots) how unique, beautitul and passionate can a REAL italian wedding be.
I love Italy and I'm gonna strongly fight any standardization of Italian culture. We've got the most rich cultural, monumental and environmental heritage. We feature the most talented handicraftsmen, chefs and artists. And photographers, of course.

Nope, on Bride in Italy you won't find any "spaghetti and mandolino" cliché. You will discover that Italy is much more than Venice, Rome, Amalfi Coast; and also, that Rome is much More than Colosseo, Venice is not just canals and bridges (and gondoliers in striped shirts), and Amalfi Coast is not only Ravello :)

Carissimi tutti,

dovrei essere qui con il capo cosparso di cenere per il semplice fatto di aver lasciato trascorrere 6 lunghissimi mesi (per la precisione 6 mesi, una settimana e un'ora) dall'ultimo articolo pubblicato su Bride in Italy.

Ed effettivamente è proprio così.
Metaforicamente parlando, voglio dire.

Qualche giorno fa (il 27 ottobre) è stato il secondo anniversario di Bride in Italy.
Qualcuno mi ha contattata in privato per sapere se ci sarebbe stata una pubblicazione speciale come quella dell'anno scorso; e con il cuore in mano ho dovuto rispondere di no.

La "crisi esistenziale"

La verità è che ci sono diversi motivi per cui Bride in Italy è rimasto in silenzio dal 28 aprile scorso ad oggi. Penserete che uno di questi sia la "mancanza di tempo", e non è inesatto. Ma quando manca il tempo, vuol dire che manca la motivazione; perché, quando c'è la motivazione, magicamente si trova anche il tempo.
Guardavo e riguardavo i moltissimi post già pubblicati, grazie alla collaborazione di tutti quanti hanno condiviso il loro lavoro con me, e in un misto di orgoglio e senso di incompletezza mi domandavo:

"C'è veramente bisogno di un altro blog di ispirazione?"

C'è veramente bisogno che io vi mostri l'ennesimo allestimento a tema, o la sposa con le Converse, o l'abito colorato, o il matrimonio geek?
C'è veramente, ancora, bisogno di far vedere matrimoni italiani diversi e fuori dagli schemi?
Voglio dire, è veramente utile quello che con tanti sacrifici sto cercando di portare avanti?

Forse no: forse, mi sono resa conto, il presupposto è sbagliato, o meglio, superato: gli sposi italiani sono già, per lo più, abbastanza "scafati" per reinterpretare la tradizione e il galateo a modo loro.
O meglio, alcuni lo sono, altri no.
Quelli che lo sono, sanno già dove andare a cercare i loro spunti creativi, tra Pinterest e i vari blog d'ispirazione molto più famosi e attivi di Bride in Italy; e quelli che non lo sono... probabilmente non sapranno mai neanche dell'esistenza di un blog come Bride in Italy :)

Mi sono domandata a lungo cosa volessi veramente ottenere da Bride in Italy.
La risposta è arrivata proprio sfogliando i vecchi post, e cercando il filo conduttore invisibile che li unisce dal primo all'ultimo.

Vorrei far vedere, al di fuori dell'Italia, cos'è veramente l'Italia dei matrimoni.
Perché siamo nel 2014 (quasi 2015) e agli occhi degli stranieri non ci siamo ancora liberati dei più triti dei cliché, quelli dell'italiano con i baffoni e la coppola, o la gondola e la maglia a righe, o gli spaghetti e il mandolino :)

Percezione dell'Italia all'estero

Proprio così: sono gli stranieri a subire quella che è una massificazione della cultura italiana: matrimonio in Italia vuol dire, a seconda del trend dell'anno, sempre le stesse destinazioni e sempre gli stessi cliché.

Mi piacerebbe invece mettere in evidenza quello che è il vero patrimonio artistico, culturale e ambientale dell'Italia, al di là di quelle che sono le mete più conosciute e pubblicizzate.

A beneficio di chi ci guarda dal di fuori, ma anche degli italiani che, da questo punto di vista, sono sempre un po' pigri (ad esempio, alzi la mano chi di voi sa che in un paese in provincia di Viterbo ci si può sposare legalmente nelle ex scuderie di un palazzo appartenuto alla famiglia Farnese. O chi ha mai pensato di ambientare una sessione di ritratti in un museo di storia naturale a Bergamo Alta. O di fare un ricevimento nella piazza del paese e invitare tutti i suoi abitanti).

In effetti, ero lì nel pieno della mia crisi esistenziale e non mi accorgevo che questa strada era, in qualche modo, già tracciata.

Per cui, di fatto, a parte la frequenza di pubblicazione che sarà leggermente diradata, e qualche piccola differenza nei criteri di selezione, forse non vi accorgerete neanche che qualcosa è cambiato rispetto al "prima".

Ma la differenza ci sarà, e sarà sostanziale.

Sento che abbiamo moltissimo da mostrare a chi ancora non ci conosce bene; molto di cui andare orgogliosi, molte eccellenze da sfoggiare all'estero.

Così, sì: così sentirei di fare qualcosa di veramente utile.
Vi va di proseguire questo viaggio con me?

Know what? I'm not tired of seing brillantly designed shabby chic weddings, I'm not tired at all, and I bet 2014 brides still love it like I do. I state: when it is really well designed like the one I'm gonna show to you today. That's why I've said one hundred times YES once Silvia (Kairos Events) submitted it to me.
It's still a great, relaxing style for an Italian wedding, and more important, it is perfectly and reasonably achievable with local products and locations. Just take a look at those lovely photographs by Kappa Wedding, and you'll easily agree with me and suddenly fall in love with burlap, twine and buttercups. Enjoy the spring :)

Sapete una cosa? Non mi sono stancata dei bei matrimoni in stile shabby. Non mi sono stancata affatto, e scommetto che le spose 2014 lo amano ancora almeno quanto lo amo io. Puntualizzo: quando è davvero ben progettato e realizzato come quello che sto per mostrarvi. E' per questo che ho detto "assolutamente sì!" quando Silvia di Kairos Events mi ha proposto questo styled shoot. Lo considero tutt'ora un grande stile, dal mood piacevolmente rilassante, perfetto per un matrimonio Italian style e, soprattutto, perfettamente e ragionevolmente realizzabile con le risorse e le location locali. Date solo un'occhiata a queste splendide foto di Kappa Wedding, e non avrete difficoltà a darmi ragione e innamorarvi istantaneamente della juta, dello spago e dei ranuncoli. Stiamo parlando di San Gimignano, la città delle Torri, un posto unico al mondo dove Rosanna e Gary hanno coronato. Sara e Luigi hanno scelto il tema del viaggio, perché per partecipare al loro matrimonio bisognerà affrontare uno di viaggio. Infatti, si sposeranno ad Èvora in Portogallo, il paese natale di Sara.
Per esprimere al meglio questo tema, ho fatto riferimento ad elementi quali la scia, l'aereo e la cornice delle buste per la corrispondenza estera. Inoltre per accentuare il concetto di viaggio, sulla chiusura della custodia sono stati applicati un pendaglio con una frase in linea e un vero e proprio aeroplano in bronzo.
La scelta della carta: la location del matrimonio sarà molto rustica e quale modo migliore di esaltare questo aspetto se non con l'utilizzo di una carta come la Favini Crush, bella e tattile, realizzata con sottoprodotti di lavorazioni agro-industriali.

Il matrimonio che sto per mostrarvi è uno di quelli che riescono a gettarmi in profonda crisi per la selezione delle foto: perché è talmente meraviglioso, che dovrei mostrarvele tutte! In effetti, quando il bravissimo Roberto Panciatici mi ha inviato l'anteprima delle immagini, sono stata io a dire "Sì, lo voglio... subito!" :) Non c'è molto da dire se non che Katie e Dallas ci hanno visto lungo, come si suol dire, quando hanno scelto la location per il loro giorno più bello. Un podere nel cuore della toscana, gli ulivi, il tramonto, e questa cerimonia all'aperto (solo loro due, i due testimoni, la celebrante) che è pura emozione; per concludere con una romanticissima cena a lume di candela sotto le stelle. Non esagero se dico che mi sono emozionata guardando le foto. Mettete insieme amore e bellezza infinita (la bellezza delle colline toscane al tramonto, la bellezza di questi due sposi e la bellezza delle foto di Roberto) e il mix è letale, garantito.
Adesso venitemi a dire che non state desiderando anche voi un matrimonio come questo...

Oggi mi va di festeggiare, con un giorno di ritardo, l'arrivo della primavera. E lo voglio fare con questo matrimonio immerso nel verde, fotografato da Sergio e Paola Amici. Marina e Fabio hanno trascorso il loro giorno più bello in una località meravigliosa del piacentino, in un castello a pochi passi dalla chiesa in cui si sono sposati. Real Wedding | Una promessa d'amore nella Città Eterna | Stefano Castello

Questa settimana mi va di dedicarmi e dedicarvi una dolcissima promessa d'amore nella mia città, Roma. Loro sono Roy e Rakesh, entrambi sudafricani, e hanno scelto i tetti di Roma come teatro per la loro promessa, tra petali di fiori e preghiere indiane (in onore delle origini di uno dei due sposi). Poi un giro per i posti più belli di Roma, e per finire una festa intima ma scatenata in riva al mare, in uno stabilimento di Fiumicino. La cosa divertente? (be', per me lo è) anche io ho scelto quello stesso posto per il mio wedding party... esattamente un mese dopo di loro :)

La suite che sto per mostrarvi appartiene al matrimonio rustico di Giulia e Simone, apparso su queste pagine qualche tempo fa. "Gli sposi sono due appassionati gattofili: non potendo far partecipare fisicamente i loro 4 amichetti pelosi al loro matrimonio, hanno deciso di portarli almeno sul coordinato grafico. Tutte le illustrazioni dei due sposi e dei 4 gattini sono state disegnate personalmente da Giulia (la sposa), e poi declinate sui vari pezzi del coordinato: partecipazione, invito, menu e un segnalibro che sostituisce (trattandosi di un matrimonio civile) i più tradizionali libretti. La palette, semplice, allegra ed estiva, è stata il punto di partenza: arancio e verde lime, che sono stati i colori dominanti dell'intero matrimonio. Trattandosi di un evento a budget ridotto, lo sforzo fatto insieme agli sposi è stato quello di ottimizzare al massimo le spese, mantenendo una caratterizzazione forte su tutti gli elementi del coordinato. Ecco quindi la scelta della stampa offset (qualitativamente migliore rispetto al digitale) soltanto sui pezzi principali del coordinato, ma a due colori e su carta non pregiata per contenere le spese di stampa; l'uso di materiali non pregiati (cartoncini colorati, spago di cotone, salvabuchi) combinati tra di loro; la stampa in casa (con stampante laser b/n) di alcuni elementi (escort card, tag varie) su cartoncino colorato; e le operazioni di taglio e allestimento realizzate personalmente da Giulia che ha confezionato una per una le partecipazioni (con tanto di invito intagliato a mano a forma di cuore) in una "busta" di lino grezzo chiusa con spago di cotone.
A completare il tutto, gemelli personalizzati per lo sposo e i testimoni, coloratissime pin da abbinare alle escort card, e cartelli segnaletici con lettering in coordinato."

Oggi farò qualcosa di diverso dal solito: non vi descriverò con le mie parole il matrimonio che state per vedere, ma mi affiderò a quelle di Anna di Duepunti Wedding Photography, perché il suo racconto è stato così intenso da emozionarmi quasi quanto le foto:

Il luccichio dei raggi del sole sul lago al tramonto ed il sorriso negli occhi di Valerio e Vanusa mentre ballano sulle note di “Besame mucho” di Consuelo Velázquez. Lei è una Personal Chef Brasiliana che da anni vive e lavora a Miami, soleggiata metropoli della Florida e scenografia del loro primo incontro... al quale hanno fatto seguito mille trasferte e viaggi impossibili per poter condividere anche solo poche ore... fino alla promessa, dall'altra parte dell'Oceano, in riva al lago di Megozzo, cornice da sogno, insieme ad un sacco di amici venuti da ogni parte del mondo a testimoniare il loro amore.

Non c'è altro da aggiungere, guardate e... sognate.

Arrivo un po' tardi a parlare dell'Unconventional Happening, ma non potevo non farlo. Un evento unico nel suo genere, il primo (speriamo) di una lunga serie dedicata a tutto ciò che è "non convenzionale", ma con un'attenzione particolare alle donne e alla nuova imprenditoria al femminile, quella che nasce dalle donne che si reinventano (soprattutto dopo la nascita del primo figlio) per adattarsi a un mondo del lavoro che non risponde alle loro esigenze. In uno spazio esclusivo, con tante attività, seminari e qualche momento di leggerezza (come potete vedere dall'accurato reportage di Laura di EnneFoto, intervallato alle foto del mio Unconventional PhotoBooth), l'UH è stato soprattutto un momento di incontro, socializzazione, scambio di idee. Devo dire che non sapevo esattamente cosa aspettarmi quando Valeria (Sposenonconvenzionali, do you remember?) mi ha proposto di partecipare: intuivo che sarebbe stato qualcosa di inedito, e ci tenevo ad esserci. E' stata una bella sorpresa sotto tutti i punti di vista e mi ha dato la possibilità e il piacere di conoscere di persona tante persone con cui sono in contatto quasi quotidianamente via web.
Ah, per par condicio: Laura è in una delle mie foto, ma ci sono anche io (con un'espressione buffa) in una delle sue. Vediamo chi ci trova ;)

Rieccomi qui, sono state giornate un po' piene (non da ultimo, per la partecipazione all'Unconvetional Happening di cui vi parlerò a breve) e alcune pubblicazioni hanno dovuto slittare. Grazie per avermi aspettata con pazienza, sono sicura che non ve ne pentirete!
Il matrimonio di oggi arriva direttamente dal Veneto e da Amarcord Studio, in anteprima per Bride in Italy: è un matrimonio autunnale e pieno di calore a dispetto del clima (freddo e pioggia come è facile che accada in novembre). A dimostrazione del fatto che le condizioni meteorologiche sono solo un dettaglio secondario, se ancora ci fosse qualche dubbio. Karin e Renzo sono bellissimi, innamoratissimi e molto emozionati, ma anche pieni di voglia di divertirsi e condividere questa gioia con le persone che hanno intorno. Memorabili il giro in trattore all'uscita dalla chiesa, i balli scatenati, il divertente photo booth con gli amici e il taglio della torta con fuochi d'artificio. E poi, un momento... ma il look della sposa? Capelli cortissimi, biondo platino, e make up super luminoso. Un incanto. Complimenti a tutti.
