My blog buddies have been giving me a hard time so… to appease the natives (of the blogosphere) I’M POSTING! Blowing the dust off my blog and shouting a big fat hello to my readers and letting you all know what I’ve been up to since neglecting my blog and my social media addiction.

I’ve been working.   Don’t laugh- I’m serious and I have proof:

June AdSense Earnings

This was June’s earnings, from AdSense alone, and not including affiliate programs.  Amazing what you can do when you neglect your social networking and put off your travels for a few months.   So… Joe Swopes and Garry Conn, you can stop teasing me in your videos… for I have finally blogged.

As for the future, I’m not certain how frequently I will blog on BrilliantJENI.com.  After a small taste of public eye, I have decided I prefer hiding, playing with my blogs, and making more money online.  I do have one project I’m particularly looking forward to sharing… as many of you know, I coach quite a few people who are new to making money online.  I love doing this and nothing makes me happier than to see a new blogger make their first dollar and climb from there.  The only problem is, I’m finding myself answering many of the same questions again and again.  Hmm… not the most efficient way to spend my time.    Instead, I will be publishing a step by step-by-step coaching site detailing how I make money online.   No frills, no gimmicks, just strategies I’ve developed over time and tips from some really sharp bloggers (who incidentally think I’m out of my mind not to charge for this!  Bah- I’m doing it anyway!) I should have this site up and ready for reading within the next few weeks and will be posting related articles here periodically.  Be sure to subscribe to my RSS if you are interested.

Travels; you all know I’m a travel fiend and this time of year I’m usually hopping flights for the next few months.  Well, change of plans.  I’m still heading to the states for a month or so, but will be getting back to Puerto Vallarta as soon as possible.  The reason for this is, my fiance and I have decided to travel Europe for a while and hope to leave by the end of the year.   3 months here, 3 months there… we hear Carnival in Italy is fabulous.  Now who’s going to tell me where the best sushi is?

• Hello from San Francisco- and Hictu!

Anyway, we all know who Brilliant Jeni is and as we all know, she is very active on Twitter. In fact, it comes to no surprise that she hasn’t updated her blog since the middle of last month. With that said, I joined Twitter about six months ago. I thought it was pretty cool, and I made a few friends. I’ll admit, it really wasn’t all that much fun until I hooked up with Jeni and met a few of her friends.

I know that many of you guys and gals reading Jeni’s blog are twitter users so I figured that you’d probably enjoy reading this little tip on scoring traffic from Twitter. Again, Twitter has an array of purposes. Jeni has shown me that Twitter is quite useful for meeting really cool friends. With me on the other hand, it is also a place for recruiting new readers to your blog. Here is how I do it.

If you scroll to the bottom of the page on Twitter, you will see a navigation bar that looks like this:

One of the links in the navigation bar is called Search.

If you click that link, you’ll be taken to a new site that looks very much like the old Google home page:

What you might not know is that Twitter Search is just about as powerful as Google with finding things on Twitter. With that said, Twitter Search is an amazing way to find people that you KNOW will be interested in reading your blog.

The reason is simple. You know exactly what your blog is about. If your blog is about Nascar, you know that people who like Nascar will enjoy reading your blog. If your blog is about making money online with programs such as Google AdSense, then you know that people who like Google AdSense will enjoy reading my blog. Etc…

With Twitter Search, you have the power to find people based off the things that interest them. When people update and send tweets, Twitter keeps a record of everything you say and makes it completely 100% searchable. So, if you write a tweet about AdSense, it will show up on the Twitter AdSense SERP.

Because Twitter keeps a record of what everyone tweets and makes it searchable on their search engine, you can easily use their search engine to find people who have tweeted about things that you commonly write about on your blog.

In the above screen shot, you will see that Shelly213 wrote a tweet that provides a link to her blog where she talks about how to NOT get your AdSense account terminated. She sent this tweet only 17 minutes ago. I can easily reply to her Tweet and strike up a conversation with her. I can easily read her blog post, leave her a comment and then reply to her tweet and tell her “awesome job!” From there, I can almost guarantee you that Shelly213 will investigate me, and find my blog. From there, I will have a new blog reader.

So the long story short is this: While it may be difficult for you to score traffic right away from Google and other search engines, there are MANY ways you can totally FLOOD your blog with traffic. Such as the case with doing a simple search using Twitter.

What a BRILLIANT idea! In the midst of the “fianancial crisis” what a great message to send- it is never a bad time to give and recognize how fortunate we truly are. I believe this, and as you know from my previous post, I recently felt a “bank spanking” (as NormalJoe called it) from the FC and am at a high risk to feel it again. That however, will not stop me from joining Underdogblogger’s challenge. In fact, I have pledged double what he is asking, plus $37 dollars (because that’s SuiteJ’s favorite number- isn’t he special?)

So, after twittering the fate of my beloved passive income earnings, practicing my Spanish swear words with a very unconcerned banker, and indecisively swaying from nausea to hyperventilation… I remembered something: I can make more. That’s right, one of the benefits of being a web publisher is that you can make as much freaking money as you want.

I have decided I will earn double the money that I have lost, by February 2009.

My first plan of attack is to answer my emails, complete my daily blog rounds, and then go out and drink as many white russians as I can possibly get my hands on- not to grieve for my loss. Oh no. TO CELEBRATE. I am going to celebrate the fact that this new inspiration has simply fallen into my lap and given me a new challenge and finally… a reason, to get back to work.

Official today, Joel Comm has released his AdSense Secrets 4 FREE to the public.  He’s also including a freebie bundle including 7 free audios, and Top One Network trials.  As a side note- Joel, being the cool man that he is, hooked me up with a Top One Network account- GREAT RESOURCES that I can confidently recommend to anyone.

I bought AdSense Secrets 4 for a whole $9.95 or whatever it was when it first came out.  Since the majority of my sites are AdSense earners, I was thankful many of the tactics described were more advanced than in Joel’s previous book, The AdSense Code. I was able to implement just a few simple changes and bump up my earnings.

If I actually stopped traveling for a few months, there are plenty of additional AdSense 4 suggestions that I’m certain would increase my earnings even further. However, since NormalJoe’s following has BrilliantJENI poll’d that I need to remain on vacation….  I am under blogger peer pressure to wait juuuuust a little longer.  At least until after I return from Joel Comm’s Elevate Seminar in a few weeks.

Friday, I caught a flight to Blog Orlando- barely unpacked from the previous weekend at Blog World in Las Vegas. Blog Orlando was fantastic. Met great people, took in a lot of information, and laughed harder than I have in ages… alas, that is another post that will be coming soon.

I arrived in San Diego Monday night. Caught a flight to San Francisco from Long Beach, Tuesday morning (almost Tuesday afternoon as I missed my flight- love LA traffic! Keeps you on your toes!) So today is… um… Wednesday (yes, I had to actually check) and I am in San Francisco to meet with Luca Filigheddu, CEO of Abbeynet in Italy. Abbeynet is a leader of Italian VOIP services, including Sitòfono and the newly released beta, Hictu. If you haven’t checked out Hictu yet, I recommend you do. Think Twitter with video, audio, and image in addition to text plus the option for direct mobile messages. Hictu is still in the early stages of beta but after speaking with Luca (twitter.com/filos – tell him Jeni sent you ) I’m interested in seeing where this goes. Particularly since there is talk of revenue-sharing in the works and unique options for aspiring video bloggers. In fact, if you’re a bit of a card and not camera shy, I would recommend giving Luca a shout. Never know where that might lead.

Catching my next flight to Long Beach in… 6 hours. Outtie!

• Let’s see if I remember how to blog…

Let me tell you what a cool guy Joel Comm is! It’s 10:50 am on Wednesday morning and NormalJoe (Imwithjoe.com) and I are chatting live with Joel Comm and a few other lucky people. Ha! Joel Comm answered my question and gave me a “BrilliantJeni” shout out which made me laugh. He also shot me a private message related to one of my questions. What a great way to start a morning.

So one of my questions was about how to identify trends for niche website opportunities. I was a bit surprised when Joel said he used nothing fancy- good old Google Trends, Google Zeitgeist, and “going into stores and asking staff about trends in whatever topic.” That last one might just be a brilliant idea.

Other tips from Joel- get off Blogger.com. Suggested WordPress.
Captain Pajamas, Get free copy of “Top 1%” report from Joel on his site.
And of course, order Joe Comm’s new book “Click Here to Order” which you can read about on imwithjoe.com (best review I could find so I’m sharing!)
