The Britax Universal Car Seat Bag is probably the best universal car seat travel bag we’ve ever seen! No joke, Britax took it way up a few notches when creating this travel bag. Typically this is a very generic item that has no extra features or functionality, but the game has been changed by Britax.

The best feature we like about this car seat travel bag is the book bag style straps that allow you to carry your car seat inside the travel bag just like a backpack. How convenient! Our second favorite feature is the rolling wheels. Not everyone is strong enough to carry a car seat on their back, especially something like the Advocate so now you have a backup option to just roll the car seat. Additional features we like are the quality and protection features such as the double zipper, storage for backpack straps, and padded interior. Lastly, keep in mind that that this car seat travel bag is not only compatible with ALL Britax Car Seats, but also most other car seats as well.

The Britax Universal Travel Bag is definitely not the cheapest car seat travel bag out there when compared to others such as JL Childress, but it is the best in our opinion!

Britax Roundabout 55 Review:

The Britax Roundabout 55 is one of the best car seats on the market today. It is the opening price point car seat from Britax Child Safety, meaning it’s their least expensive convertible car seat. The great thing about the Roundabout 55 is that you get all of the standard features of Britax car seats without the super high price tag of some of the bigger, more advanced car seats in their product line.

While the Britax Roundabout 55 is larger compared to the Britax Roundabout 50 and older Roundabouts, it is still Britax’s smallest convertible car seat. We will say that it’s pretty much equal in size when compared to the Marathon 70 though. It used to be the great advantage for the Roundabout was that it was way smaller and could fit really easily into small cars like the Honda Civic. While it still may be able to fit, it is on a larger car seat platform than years previous.

Who Should Buy the Britax Roundabout 55?

The parent or caregiver that needs a very safe convertible car seat, but doesn’t want to spend a ton and doesn’t necessarily care about having a super high weight or height limit.

The Roundabout 55 is most comparable to the Britax Roundabout 50, Britax Marathon 70, and the Graco My Ride 65.

As mentioned above, the Roundabout 55 is larger in size than the Roundabout 50. It was put on a new, updated, larger base platform. In addition, it has a higher weight capacity as labeled in the name and a higher height capacity.

These two are pretty much the same car seat, but the Marathon 70 has a higher forward-facing weight limit of 70lbs. There are probably other small differences, but that’s the one you need to know about.

Britax Roundabout 55 vs Graco My Ride 65:

This is more of a war of brands in our minds. Which do you prefer, Britax or Graco? Britax is the leader in this category and is known to be safer and higher quality, but Graco makes great car seats for the money. All of them have to pass the same safety standards by law, but some go above and beyond. Also, the Graco My Ride has a higher forward-facing weight limit of 65lbs.

The Brtax Marathon is kind of the staple when it comes to convertible car seats. The Marathon 70 is the latest in the Britax Marathon family. The biggest improvement from the last Marathon is the “70″ which means it can go up to 70lbs. forward facing. Britax did away with the CS (click and safe) option for the Marathon 70. CS is where the harness would click like a gas cap when it was at the proper tightness. As usual, we love the Marathon 70 overall!

You should buy the Britax Marathon 70 if you are looking for a really steady balance in terms of price, comfort, size, and safety. Sure you can spend a little more to get a little bit safer of a seat, but your going to spend more and it’s going to be bigger and bulkier.

Ok, so Britax is taking it up another notch with the Frontier 85 SICT much like the did with the Advocate CS a few years ago. By the way, “SICT” stands for Side Impact Cushion Technology which is basically the big difference between the Britax Frontier 85 SICT and the regular Britax Frontier 85. In laymen’s terms, basically Britax has added big air bags on the side of the Frontier 85 and named it the Frontier 85 SICT. Now don’t get us wrong, these air bags are a great safety feature and divert up to 45% of side impact crash forces. In addition they serve as a pad for kids and adults sitting next to the seat that may be whip-lashed into the seat. The price hike is pretty steep just like it was for the Advocate CS when it came out. At $339.99, the Frontier 85 SICT is pretty much the most expensive Harnessed Booster on the market, but it’s also pretty much the safest. Also, as the big box retailers get their hands on this seat, they will undoubtedly lower the price as Britax is no longer restricting pricing!

The Britax B-Agile is set to start shipping on July 26th! It is the newest addition in the Britax lineup. The B-Agile is probably going to be a huge seller and very popular based on the type of stroller category it fits into. The B-Agile is very similar to the Baby Jogger City Mini. Actually, at first glance it looks identical. There are a few key differences though! One of the biggest differences you’ll see will become relevant once the stroller has been shipping for a few months. See Baby Jogger has a very strict MAP Pricing Policy whereas Britax has done away with theirs. So what does this mean? Instead of the Britax B-Agile being $249.99, it will most likely end up being priced at $199.99 or lower by competitive retailers such as Amazon.com and Diapers.com! This is great news for you!

Britax B-Agile Feature Overview:

The Britax B-Agile has many great features! Probably the best feature on the B-Agile is the One-Hand, Quick Fold! You literally just grab the handle in the seat of the stroller and pull up. The Britax B-Agile folds extremely compact and at only 16.5lbs. it is very easy to transport. The next best feature is the Click & Go integrated adapter system. This is one feature we thought was much better than the Baby Jogger City Mini in that you don’t have to add on an extra adapter to put the Chaperone infant car seat on. This is a big time saver. Now we will mention that you do need to buy an adapter  for the other car seat brands such as Graco, Chicco, and Peg Perego.
