50 meg !!
Sounds exciting, er?
But when you passed the first 7 days (which is the period you can cancel the contract and have your money back, I have absolutely no complain during this period), your speed will be slower than your mobile phone. I could open any youtube video after 6pm, and other websites might work might not. I paid the money for a 50 meg broadband, but I could not even watch a video properly !
Apart from the speed issue, there are many other issues. The connection drops several time a day, some times 5 in a row. When you phone them, they will just ask you to restart the router over over and again, and squeeze more money off your pocket by charge you a lot of money on their customer service line (10 mins, 7 pounds off). They even pretend solving your problem by letting you leason to a 5 mins music.

I have had an increasingly bad exoerience with TalkTalk broadband. I joined them two years ago, and, at first, the service was OK. In the last few months, the connection has become slow, with the connection frequently lost.

The people in the call centre (in India) are so unhelpful that they're beyond satire. I found them technically incompetent, promising service that is never delivered, and fobbing me off with anything that they think I'd accept. That is, when I was fortunate enough actually to get them to answer without having to wait for an unacceptably long time.

TalkTalk's telephone service, on the other hand, was absolutely fine.

After ordering a new telephone/broadband service with Talk Talk, the engineer (from Outreach) came to activate my line, caused damage to some electrical wires and left a shabby job with silicone gel bulging out of the hole where the wires are, and now, I have been told by Talk talk that I must pay an Electricial/workman to repair the damage and claim back off Outreach (Engineer company), as nothing to do with Talk Talk. I told Talk Talk my contract is with them, they contracted Outreach to do work for them, so they should fix the damage. After several phone calls, being passed from one dept. to another, promises to call back which weren't fullfilled and being generally fobbed off I am going to end my contract (30 day trial)...disgusted with my treatment...customer care is obismal.

just had mine triple bundled installed on Sat. although I make it clear to sales I wanted 4 tel points, the man insisted they only install 1. it was £25 for each additional. He refused to install the broadband router to my study which was upstairs saying he did not have time and the signal will be very weak etc. I compromised. Asked him to check the old NTL phone points which worked. then I asked him to leave me the cables and I will run the cables myself to the study. He went to complete another order and returned to checked the installation. all good after that. except. I am on Broadband XL but the speed is only 2-3mbps. the man assured me a new cable will be installed on tue morning to my home. but this of cos was not done. called customer service twice last night as the first time the indian man hung up on me as he kept saying he did not understand! second chap in india did not hang up as i told him if he did. I will call 150 option 4 the next day to cancel! He booked another technician to come this sat. so will let you know the outcome. btw check the contract in the welcome pack. they tried to charge me £49 for HD even though I did not want it!

I moved in February and wanted to take my Internet/ landline deal with me. I told them in December when I would be relocating. It is now September 2010 and I still have no Internet. I had to chase them to sort out my landline and have had to contact them 7 or 8 times to find out why I still have not been connected to the Internet. I have never received an apology or an explanation, I have had to spend hours on the phone being passed from pillar to post with no result. Today I told them to disconnect me, they said they may charge me a disconnection fee!! Customer service is shocking, if I did such a poor job in delivering a service I would have been sacked, will never deal with them again!!

Recently moved from Tiscali (3 Meg)toT/T was told I would get around 13Meg. After change over this proved to be the case. Soon after started having regular disconections, Contacted cust services, could not have been more helpfull, after 1 unsuccessful attempt to rectify the problem Tech team got involved, admitted the problem lay with them then quickly resolved the problem. Have had 2 follow up calls, expecting a 3rd, from them to check the fault has gone. I speak as I find them.
