I really don’t understand all these bad reviews I hear about mobile broadband coverage in the UK. On the Virgin Media website, they are very clear about what coverage you will receive ” Virgin Mobile 3G network covers over 85% of the UK population. So you should get a brilliant mobile broadband service, just about anywhere you live.”. After a quick search of your home, work and other post code, you will be sure that this option is right for you and you will receive coverage where you require it.

One other nice feature is the “Data Calculator” which allows you to try and forecast what kind of bandwidth you will use depending on what you usually use your broadband for.

I live in Cheltenham and I receive a broadband single of around 2 MB per second on a regular basis. It seems such a better option that having home broadband, which requires BT line rental (£12 ish) and a home broadband package. I have a 15GB per month on a 24 month plan for £15 per month, works out soo much cheaper than home broadband and I have the flexibility to use wherever I go…IDEAL.

I must disagree with the review from Keith above. I dont seem to have any issues with the connectivity in rural areas, everywhere that I have tried to use the broadband I have been above to connect.

The Vodafone USB pro stick is one of the best purchases I have ever made. I travel frequently for work and therefore need to have access to my email all the time. The only one problem is that I often lose connection on the train, things seem ok close to cities, however connection is lost elsewhere. I dont think this is a Vodafone specific problem as a number of collegues have mobile broadband with other providers (O2, 3 Mobile and T-Mobile) and they all say the same. I am told by Vodafones customer support that the mobile coverage is always being improved, therfore in the near future the loss of connection should not happen throughout the UK.

Found it a little difficult to set up to start with, however after a quick phone call to the customer services they talked my through exactly what to do in order to get the broadband sorted. Since then, I have had no issues.

With regards to speed, it can be a little dissapointing. Some days are ok, some are really poor. Would not recommend for any intensive internet use (streaming videos or download music). For general internet use, things are ok.

5GB monthly allowance, 1 month contract for £15 per month. Sounds too good to be true! Never likes 3 mobile for a mobile phone contract, but thought I would give them a go with mobile broadband. I have not been dissapointed to date.

After looking at a number of different companies, we decided to opt for BT’s Professional Package, the “heavy traffic internet usage” which offers:

• Up to 20Mb
• Unlimited usage
• Wireless router as standard
• 250 Wi-Fi minutes per month

Costings: We pay £22.50 (ex VAT) on a 2 year contract for all of the above, which seems extremely competitive.

Support: Technical support offered by BT is next to none. Any issues or questions we have, we have a 24 hour, 7 days a week support telephone number which we can phone and receive an answer pretty much straight away (no 30 minutes on hold like you have with BT home support)!

I have used them for well over two years. The broadband service has been completely reliable,with consistently reasonable speeds. I have no idea how good their helpline is, as I have never had to use it. It just works. Slightly more expensive than some, but well worth it.
