Pictures of the new BB435s2

Our First Broadblue 435 s2 is under construction and scheduled for launch in a few weeks. The 435 will be shown at the upcoming South Hampton UK Boat Show in September and London Boat Show in January 2011.

The Broadblue 415 model is no longer available but many of the great features of the 415 have been combined into the new 435 such as the large fixed windows in the aft cabins and U shaped saloon seating. Other most popular options have become standard features such as the hardtop bimini, two bow rollers, a newly designed port forward cabin, more storage, private owner’s hull, and more. The pictures show the 435 in construction so visit in late August for pictures of the finished boat.

The master cabin has a new look. The door to the berth has bee removed and enlarged for more visitilibty and ease of access. The entire owner’s hull has a privacy door that closes off the owner’s hull to the saloon. The master berth is a semi-island queen berth with storage drawers under, steps to the left of the berth to ease getting on/off the berth, plus the normal hanging lockers, etc.

A new feature is the addition of a double berth in the port forward cabin. The double berth is located between the bows/hulls and has a large hatch above for lighting and ventilation. In addition, a single berth to the outer hull with lots of storage under. This is a great kids room and room for 3 to sleep. Pictures in late August will be easier to see this great new feature.

The option most in demand is a hardtop bimini and now it is standard. The hardtop has led lighting under, hatch/windows for visibility from the helm to the sails, and places for solar panels (fixed or flexible). The second picture shows the aft hull with the three large fixed windows in the aft cabins, the long and shallow fixed keel, and the fully skegged and protected rudder. Note that the keel and skegg are at the same level making the level and distributing the weight when aground, planned or otherwise, or on the hard.

The last few pictures show the new AC/DC power panel that includes all the various breakers, master GFCI, fuel & water guages, bilge pump controls, navigation lighting, volt/amp meters (DC & AC), and more. All the wiring, second picture, is located behind the panel in the electrial room where one can enter for service. Wiring is clean, organized and well positioned for service and adding new services. Lastly a picture of the galley that comes standard with a solid surface worktop, stainless keel cooled large fridge, and recessed cook top with stove under.

Great 3 Cabin Bluewater Catamaran…

With a fabulous light Oak custom (Broadblue) fitted interior. Built as a Broadblue 42 the re-designed saloon gives seating for 8 people in comfort rather than the original only for 4. This vastly improved design was in fact the first Broadblue 435 interior which all future boats boasted.

Her spacious layout includes a full-hull owner’s cabin plus 2 large double cabins. Two large heads each with a separate shower and conveniently positioned in each hull. The luxurious gourmet galley, spacious dining/lounge area and navigation station are up on the bridge deck and benefit from its 360 degree panoramic views. This is a wonderfully social boat with spacious living areas inside and out plus the pedigree to sail far and wide.

Ideal for a large family or owner/skipper charter she has been professionally maintained from new. While having done some light charter work (about 10 weeks a year) no expense has been spared on her upkeep throughout her life.

She is in extremely good condition inside and out and an inspection will not disappoint.

Fantastic Family 4 Cabin Bluewater Cruiser…

With a fabulous light Oak custom (Broadblue) fitted interior. Built as a Broadblue 42 the re-designed saloon gives seating for 8 people in comfort rather than the original only for 4. This vastly improved design was in fact the first Broadblue 435 interior which all future boats boasted.

Her spacious layout includes 4 large double cabins and 2 single/crew berths forward (both accessed from on deck or below). The 2 large heads each have separate shower cubicles and are conveniently positioned centrally between the Fore and Aft cabins in each hull. The luxurious gourmet?s galley, spacious dining/lounge area and navigation station are up on the bridge deck and benefit from its 360 degree panoramic views. This is a wonderfully social boat with spacious living areas inside and out plus the pedigree to sail far and wide.

For the sailor she is extensively equipped with top quality gear while her specification is still sensible for her size and not over loaded with heavy and excessive garb. The Broadblue 42 rapidly built a reputation as one of the finest passage making cruising catamarans on the market and this one is one of the best of them. While luxury and comfort was a must for her owner so was her sailing characteristics, she was specifically equipped with weight and performance in mind. New (2009) ?Spectra? radial mainsail, hydraulic autopilot, full instruments, radar, 2 colour plotters (one at helm, one at navigation table), 10 person MCA coding and full safety gear, 10 man offshore life-raft, GRP passerelle, Cooney stainless steel 250 davits and an Avon 3.4m RIB with steering console and 15hp Yamaha electric start outboard are all included.

The domestic inventory is extensive and includes all quality utensils, crockery, etc. The spacious galley includes a large front opening fridge plus a cavernous separate freezer which can double as a cool box/drinks fridge. Both are extremely well insulated and include keel cooling units for efficiency in hot climates. Stainless steel hob, oven and grill with auto igniters are fitted around sumptuous Corian worktops and elegant English Oak cabinets.

Ventilation and through breeze is at a premium with open front windows, large deck hatches in all areas plus opening portlights. All windows are fitted with top quality “Skysol” blinds while all the hatches have “Skyscreen” retracting fly screens and blinds.

Ideal for a large family or owner/skipper charter she has been professionally maintained from new. While having done some light charter work (about 10 weeks a year) no expense has been spared on her upkeep throughout her life.

She is in extremely good condition inside and out and an inspection will not disappoint. The owner is well motivated to sell.

Deck
For “ease of handling” is how this boat has been set up. One person can easily navigate, sail and moor her while the rest of the crew lazes around. As easy as it maybe the large fully battened radial cut “Spectra” mainsail and tight slotted furling genoa keep the sailing fast and efficient especially to windward. The 42 is renowned for their spectacular sailing abilities and performance to windward. The deck layout with all sails operated from one electric halyard winch at the work station within the cockpit makes for exciting yet safe and relaxed sailing. The skipper can move from the helm to the work station in 2 steps. At the work station both sails can be hauled, trimmed and even reefed single handedly in any conditions. However there is space for 2 crew to work and enjoy the trimming. Single line reefing operated by the elec winch and bank of 7 spinlocks means that no one ever needs go forward when its rough and reef time. Moving around the decks is a joy with very wide clutter free decks all around the boat. The cockpit is spacious with fantastic open areas and dining space. It is well protected from the elements when beating to windward, shaded by the fixed bimini and with open visability aft and forward. Manoeuvering and anchoring is a pleasure with 360deg vision and seeing all 4 corners of the boat from the helm seat. The anchor windlass is powerful, electric, reversing and controlled from switches at the bows and the helm. The anchor and 80m chain is self stowing and as the bow roller is at the bow there is no need for a bridle to fiddle with in normal conditions.
