New tumblelog

As you all can tell, this blog has been stagnating. Sorry about that. Maybe someday I’ll actually finish off those articles that are sitting around in draft form unpublished.

In the meantime, I’ve started a new tumblelog at http://bryanlarsen.ca. It’s much less interesting in that it contains no new content, just links and snippets. However, it’s a lot easier to post a simple link than it is to create a new blog entry, so it should actually get posts more than once a month! It’s mainly just links that I think Bethany would find interesting, and a few others that creep in just because I can’t resist. So unless you have interests that are similar to Bethany and mine (hi Sis!) or are overly curious about what I’m up to (hi Mom!), you can probably find better link aggregations out there. But check it out anyways!

I’ve deleted some comment spam and signed up for akismet so it shouldn’t happen again.

New sections

We’ve been back from Europe for a while now. I still have a few more articles about Europe that I’ve outlined but not yet written, I do hope to get to them sometime soon!

In the meantime, I also hope to keep writing on other subjects. I’ve created a few more sections, so if you are not interested in everything, you can unsubscribe from the main blog and subscribe to the sections you are interested in.

Not everybody will be interested in the Technical or Personal sections, but I would ask that everybody please subscribe to the Arguments section (or stay subscribed to the Home section, which will continue to include all of the articles). I will try to keep those articles interesting and informative for everybody.

Pictures uploaded.

Pictures for the last 11 days have been uploaded. Unlike this blog, we don’t have things set up to ration them out to you with a week’s delay. So rather than overloading yourselves, I recommend that you just view the pictures one day at a time. Go to our October 12th blog entry and start viewing the pictures one day at a time. No jumping ahead to days that don’t have a blog entry yet!

We’ve had trouble finding a computer with an available USB port so have been unable to upload pictures. We’ve got quite a few of them, you’ll just have to be patient!

More pictures uploaded.

We’ve uploaded a lot of new pictures, and put captions on many of them. Of course, we don’t have a lot of time, so sometimes we ended up with captions like “town in Denmark”. The maps feature of flickr wasn’t working, so that hasn’t been updated.

A good way to look at the pictures is to use the calendar feature of flickr

We’ve crudely positioned our photos on the flickr map. The positioning is not exact, but you can check it out on flickr.

Keep the comments coming.

We’re enjoying reading the comments. Hadn’t heard about the riots in Copenhagen; Bethany did notice a newspaper cover that looked a little weird, but we’re a little cut off from the world here, not being able to read Danish beyond a menu. Of course, that’s on purpose, but…

If you haven’t noticed by now, we’ve been composing our updates off-line and uploading them once or twice a week, and having the blog dole them out to you once a day. For instance, right now we’re in Ferittslev, but you won’t hear about that for a while! We can’t dole out the pictures, though, so that jumps ahead.

More pictures at Bethany’s Flickr

[Note from wayne:] I’ve updated some of the entries to include maps, hopefully that’ll help those following along at home figure out where exactly they are! (I know I’ve been confused!). Oh, and the comment box should now be a reasonable size, so no excuses for not leaving a nice comment!

Cheers,
Bryan & Bethany
