We first met Christina and Mike in January 2009 at the Seattle Wedding Show. They were planning an elegant East Coast wedding for the fall, and immediately fell for the “two trees” custom invitation suite on display that we created for Lindsey and Phillip in 2008. We worked closely with Christina to create an invitation suite that reflected their own personal style using that imagery.

Using a color palette of autumn yellow and deep gray with bursts of metallic silver, we created an offset invitation suite that consisted of a panel-style invitation, rsvp cards, directions cards, and rehearsal dinner invitations. For their wedding day, we created programs, table cards (each named after a different variety of tree), escort cards, and favor tags. The trees motif carried throughout the wedding day, from a reading of “Two Trees” by Janet Miles at the ceremony to the “Tree in a Box” favors given out at the reception. With the new overall look for our online presence, we decided it was also time to freshen up our business cards! These little beauties are letterpress (in a deep, smoky, warm gray) on Crane’s Lettra 100% cotton stock. For some reason we can’t bring ourselves to have a standard size business card (our last bunch were square) – these cards are 3.5″ x 1.75″ for a long, lean look (and still long enough to fit in a business card holder, which was an issue with our square cards).

Jonathan and I have been completely overwhelmed this week by the outpouring of compliments, kudos, and adulation from colleagues, friends, brides, and others regarding our site redesign! (They like us, they really like us!)

Jonathan and I are delighted to announce the (full) launch of our brand-spanking new website today! We launched partially in January, but now the site is live in full. Check it out!

Two of our biggest priorities while designing our new site were 1) that the site really show off our work and 2) that it be clean, simple, and incredibly user-friendly. The site has been a real labor of love and we’re so excited to share it with you!

One of my favorite sections is the Custom Portfolio, where you can view past custom projects. Several of our couples have shared their wedding photos with us, which really shows off how well invitations and day-of paper items can tie together to make an event seamless from beginning to end.

The FAQ section answers some commonly asked questions about our process, pricing, timeline, environmentally friendly resources, and working with us if you don’t live in the Seattle area.

The Press section features magazines, books, and websites that have written about us and our work – also in this section are several testimonials from happy clients.

Of special note is our new Studio Collection – ready to order, easy to customize letterpress invitations. More on those later this week!

I have dresses on the brain (which is not that uncommon for me). I headed over to modcloth.com to browse their dresses and came to an unfortunate discovery: every single dress that I was drawn to is SOLD OUT. This leads me to three conclusions:

1: I have very mainstream taste, apparently. (Bad.)
2: I’m not quick enough on the draw – totally missed out. (Bad.)
3: All the dresses I am drawn to are slightly longer in length (moderately close to or at knee length). The fact that these longer dresses are all sold out tells me I am not alone in this preference! Retailers, are you LISTENING? (Good!)
