Noticed some behavior after upgrading to FF version 9.0.1 with ColorfulTabs 9.0.

1) If you use folders on the Bookmark Toolbar to hold a number of bookmarks under one icon, the folder may not open when clicked on the first time. You have to click on a different bookmark or folder, then slide the mouse over the desired folder. Uninstalling ColorfulTabs fixed the problem.

2) The X to close a tab would sometimes disappear. Opening a new tab would redraw the tabs and the X would then appear on the other tabs. Again, the problem resolved itself when uninstalling ColorfulTabs.

Pretty much clean Firefox with only some adblock and popup block extensions. Windows 7 OS.

Let me kn ow if I can be of any assistance in reproducing the problem.

Thanks, but I'm still confused. AMO lists v 9.0 but the current version is v 9.1 which isn't mentioned anywhere at all.

I've seen something like this posted over 2 years ago, it really would make colorful tabs more usefull than any other feature imho.

What I'm proposing is how Tab Kit used to function (no longer developed) when the tab bar was on top. It creates a relationshop between a tab and tabs opened from that site in that tab - parent vs child - so that colors are based on what was opened from what tab and what was specifically openen as new tab.

This is usefull because it saves you from grouping them yourselve and just follows your natural browsing.
Most feature requests can be met with other addons combined with this (tab mix plus for example), but this feature would be perfect for just this addon.

Hope to see some more development in terms of features. Keep up the good work.

Hi,
I understand ColorfulTabs is only guaranteed to work with the default setup, however it worked with this theme and TMP for literally years, and still seems to work with TMP on the default theme. As Whitehart has not been updated, I presume the issue is with TMP. Do you have any idea what's going on? I can attempt to fix it if no one else will. Oh, also, on the recent update the color is now on top of, instead of below, the tabs.

The current version of TMT is incompatable with current version of Firefox.
Mozella Firefox is not playing fairley with Binary Turf TooManyTAbs. The current TMT version is for Firefox version : 7.01 , Jan.27, 2012; The Current version of Firefox is 9.01. Will there ever be a TMT that is not so sensitive to Mozella Forefox Release prime number.
I think TMT is one of the most useful addon for Firefox; I desperately miss having TMT. Of all the addons I've got, at least a third are disabled because they are not compatable with thw 'current' Firefox - I don't miss a single one of those one third.
I desperately miss the TMT; the TMT is 'the' way to keep a site screen imideately available, sorted into any way I want to park it.
What can I do? Just forget about TMT- I'm not able to forget the best addon in the list of addons. Hope Mozella Firefox will work a way with Binary Turf TooManyTabs to play with eachother.? I think all this Firefox revision fetish began when Chrome started their firedrill and Firefox got snookerd into this revision dog fight without a dog to put in the fight : Firefox was NOT broken, Firefox was snookered into breaking the link(s) it has-had with the addon vendors-suppliers and Chrome got one up on Firefox because Firefox lost a big chunk of its 'user frendlyness' - Chrome' snooker had-has worked to pull Firefox DOWN.
Binary Turf has my permission to pass this comment on to Mozella Firefox - somebody has to get this endless stream of the primary release number FIXED...
Won't ya'll play TOGETHER for the benefit of the use base out here?

ColorfulTabs is only guaranteed to work on the default Firefox theme without any addons.

Same problem here. The only place where there's any visible coloring is the bard below the tabs. FF9, Win7 x64.

Only the first domain i have listed takes the color i assign.

It's a shame because it's the perfect tool for me, but it doesn't work well :(

I have the answer to this problem, referencing ColorfulTabs 8.0 bringing up an unwanted tab repeatedly.

Open the User.js file in your profile page (Help --> Troubleshooting Information --> Open Containing folder). In the file is a line that reads:

user_pref("extensions.clrtabs.firstrun", "8.0");

Simply delete this line from the User.js file, save and and the problem is solved. I also had lines that read:

user_pref("extensions.clrtabs.firstrun", "7.0");

and deleted them just to be safe. This has fixed the problem, with no loss of functionality. I'm glad that it could be fixed -- but next time, it would be nice if ColorfulTabs could find a solution to a recurring problem themselves.

hello,

colorfultabs & treestyletab don't seem to work together as expected when treestyletab is set to vertical tab mode. the color is shown on the left and right of the tab only.
see picture.
in horizontal tab mode it works though.

- firefox 9.01 (
- win7 ultimate
- treestyletab.0.13.2011121501
- colorfultabs8.1

but i have this since a long time, using older versions of the extensions.

something seems wrong with preferences. Please disable colorfultabs and see if the problem continues. By all means it will as I doubt this is a fault of colorfultabs.

The value is "8.0" (no quotes). Status is "user set" if that makes any difference. I only mention it because out of all of the "extensions.clrtabls.x, all are "default" save for .firstrun and .scheme, which are "user set."

However, as per your question, it is "8.0"

I'm having the same issue as everyone else; the plugin successfully installed tab won't go away. I followed previous suggestions and have reset my homepage in the Options --> General tab multiple times, in multiple ways, to multiple different addresses. None of it has helped. I am using Windows 7 Home Premium Edition, Firefox 8.0.1 and Colorful Tabs self-updated to version 8.0.

This is annoying.

I use tree-style tabs and tab mix plus with colorful tabs to keep my work organized. When i would restore my previous sessions every morning my colorful tab would restore to the previous color from the day before. Now all my child tabs take the color of the parent. is there any way to fix this issue. i need the color to load back the way I set them. Please help me I like this extension but if I have to keep resetting my colors it it has to go.

Hello - When colorful tabs is enabled and I select the tab under "tab groups", the mouse pointer does not highlight the tabs properly.

After disabling colorful tabs and restarting firefox, it highlights properly. Take a look at the screenshots. I also tried disabling other addons. There appears to be no conflict with them. Not sure whether there is a problem with colorful tabs. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks!:

I am using Colorful Tabs 8.0 on FF 8.0 under Win 7 Ultimate.

My home page is about:blank. Every time I start Firefox, the first tab at left to open is a blank tab (i.e. my homepage) then another second tab opens to the update message "plugin Installed" from the URL http://ctab.binaryturf.com/80.htm.

I have looked everywhere for the cause of this but cannot see the cause. It is an irritation that ruins an excellent Add-on.

Or the "closing X" color might be done differently on the active Tab (maybe larger, or red colour + highlighting background, in order to be spot easily) ; or the font color on the active tab might be totally different.

I would be very glad if you proposals (especially the one concerning the special marking of the active Tab) would be considered by the developer.
I think that differentiation could be done by allowing to chose some features like : the font in active Tab to be bold, changing the font color , changing the color of the "border" of active Tab, even raising the Tab higher than the other ones ; and might be some other, more subtle modes, that would appear only if the mouse hover will get in the proximity of the tab area

FFChrome works nicely when using a mouse. But when using a keyboard only, (in laptops), you can't extend the context menu. It would be nice to extend it so that it can be used without a need of a mouse.
