Lincoln Twitter Rumours

There have been rumours flying across the web today, following Jackie O stating on her Twitter page that she'd heard H&A star Lincoln Lewis had been axed from the show - a consequence of his recent sex-tape scandal.

BTTB has made enquires with its sources, and we can confirm that the statement is not true.

Whilst its no secret that Lincoln's standard 3 year contract is due to expire early next year, having started with the show in April 2007, the decision as to whether or not Lincoln will carry on in the role has nothing to do with the recent scandal.

If Lincoln, or the show, do choose to say goodbye to Geoff in 2010 - which is a decision which has not even been discussed as yet - then it will just be part of the on-going revolving door with the young actors.

As regards to Jackie O, it seems apparent that she has heard about Lincoln's end-of-contract approaching, and assumed that there was a casual connection between that and the sex-tape scandal. This is not the case.

The fact that Lincoln started filming on another Seven Network show, 'Dancing with the Stars', AFTER the news came out, further disproves the theory. Common sense would state that if Seven were worried in any way about the scandal, then they would choose to drop Lincoln from a show which hadn't even started filming yet as opposed to H&A.

With 'Dancing with the Stars' going to air next week, viewers have nothing to worry about.

Five Takes A Break

BTTB can confirm that UK broadcaster Five will be taking Home and Away off air for the month of August, putting the gap between UK and Australian transmission back to 6 weeks.

The last showing before the hiatus will be on Episode 4900 on Friday 31st July, with the show returning to UK screens on 31st August.

As it stands, the UK airing comes only 2 weeks after Australian airing, and this break will ensure that the UK does not come in danger of overtaking Australia when they take their annual christmas break at the end of November.

An Apology

So, quite a while now I promised you a brand new look Back to the Bay. The work started in earnest, and most of News, Episodes and many other sections started to show signs of a new, but rather incomplete, look. Then... work just stopped. Life and University took over. So, I'd just like to apologise for leaving the place in a bit of a mess since the start of the year. I now have some time off, meaning time to get this place into shape. Things will continue to look a mess over the coming weeks, possibly even more than they do at the moment, but we'll come out the other end with a much improved Back to the Bay. I hope you like it!

I'll be back to report on all the changes in a few weeks.
