For a while I wanted to add something new to the site. Update, as people say. I used to make stuff in a days time and always made sure I add it the same day. Needless to say that the work was sloppy. These days I put a bit more care to what I do, that is why new things are being added in a longer period of time. For example, the new design. If I had uploaded and coded the design when I first made it then it would have been a terrible crap added to a website that claims to offer high quality stuff. So I ask for people’s feedback and took their advice. I am happy of the result—not fully, though—to upload it and share it with you. I also added new avatars. As to my life. School. That should be enough to excuse my laziness towards my website. I have a bunch of things happening—singing, designing a website for a business plan, studying. The usual stuff, for some. I also had a chance to work for one night at a night club. I did mess up a bit—I drop a glass. To my luck it didn’t break. After the night I didn’t feel tired and had no muscle pain whatsoever, but I was expecting something like that. The night wasn’t hard, but wasn’t easy as well. A huge downside was that at some point there was no air, which made things a bit harder. I’m not sure if I got the job. If I did, I’m staying at the dorms for the whole summer. It is a bit of a bummer because I’m kind of sick of this place. The job would not super awesome amounts of money. It’s just a student job—enough to survive and maybe a bit more.

I also have plans to go home next week. I’ve been trying to do it since Easter and have failed many times. Will I succeed this week—no clue. I kind of wish to have a proper meal with meat and sauce and all the good stuff that comes along with it. Maybe get a burger I just want a change of scenery before I dwell into books until my head blows up because if you remember my post about falling out of the budget group then you know that I want to get back in. Fingers crossed that I succeed!

The other day I was browsing the web and came across a really helpful website that offered wordpress theme shell. I might even get around to make those themes, I still can’t get over it. But the code is so different from when I used be a wordpress nerd. That totally sucks because I don’t think I have time to sit for hours just to figure out why this does that.

I also took down fanupdates’ comment form and added DISQUS one. I actually got the idea in a forum thread I read. It was just about another news script that I thought I could use instead of fanupdate, but the captcha image is just too ugly. I tried to blend the news script and DISQUS and then figure that might as well do this with what I already have.

I’ve been trying to study hard. Not sure how that goes, but I don’t sleep much and sitting in lectures sometimes is very, very hard. Taking naps is a bad idea because once I have to wake up I just have no will or strength to do so. A have deliberately skipped a couple of lectures because of this. But the sleep is so sweet…damn!

I’ve experienced a lot in this year and it is only the start of March. My life hasn’t had this much events since…ever. I do go out much more and to be honest with you, I have mixed feelings about that. I like it, but then again, when given a chance, I’d like to be alone. It’s just a part of who I am, I need space.

Remember that I wrote about the budget places and fear of falling out? My predictions came true. It wasn’t fortune telling or rocket science to figure out the outcome. Even though I prepared myself for this I still felt utter feeling of failure. At the same time I felt determination as well. I earned that spot and I will get it back. My resort—cheating. Here everyone cheats, I don’t know why I thought I won’t do it. I suppose I wanted to be fair to myself, but after cheating a couple of times and seeing the results it’s obvious that I have to play dirty. And how I will pay for the studies? Here’s where my mom comes in. She will help me to take a loan which is not too much for a first dept.

I’ve never spoken/written about this here, but I had a crush. I liked a guy from the college and it seemed he liked me too, more or less. I crushed over him for a couple of months before actually writing to him and the feedback was positive which made me obviously happy. The conversation continued for some time until I decided I want to meet the guy. The first meet-up was a fail—he had band practice (he plays in a band). The second time something might have happened, but the guy decided to go to a concert—in this case I’m thinking, fine, but at least give a notice. The third time was the charm. We met. Nothing fancy at all, just sat in my room and talked. It was awkward at the beginning, at least for me, but as the time passed I got used to the situation.

After that the contact pretty much ended. I did try to “talk” once. Well, the last time was humorous. Around noon I wrote to him wondering if he’d be free on the weekend. No reply. After many hours I thought to try again. Weak contact was made and an excuse to why he didn’t bother to reply—”I didn’t have time”. I’m still grinning over this because to me that is the shittiest excuse one can give especially at this day and age. It would take him 2 seconds to reply. A simple “I’m busy” does the trick.

I did pour my heart out to some of my friends and obviously they were saying that this guy is not worth it and I think I agree. Not only he is unreliable, he is a terrible liar. One can assume that “being in a band” got to his head. I personally didn’t give a rat’s ass about his “special status”. I just liked him.

But I do think that one should see the good in the bad. My benefit is being free from crushing.

My luck in the exams is kind of questionable. I bumped into many problems and the end result does not please me. I stress quite a lot, but that is normal for me. You see, in my country there are this system. If you have good grades the government might pay for your studies. Students in Latvia crave these spots. It so happened that I got into the so called budget group, however I can fall out of it if my grades are not good enough. In my studies there are 40 spots. I have no idea where I am, but it matters little because the list will be created based upon the results from the exams. My overall is 6 (out of 10) and I’m not pleased at all. I refuse to stress over this because I can’t fix what has been broken, in this case. I assume everyone has had such great results that it is impossible for me to keep my spot. I do hope, but I prefer to stay realistic. I’m not sure how I will explain this to my mother, since I do think I will need her help with taking a loan.

My friend suggested that I should try to sell the designs I make. Seems he think I can actually earn money out of the stuff I make. I’m not so sure, but I do feel the urge to try out. I mean, a couple of bucks now and then do no harm. Also I could get more experience, polish my skills and ultimately get closer to my goal—becoming a web designer.

I have this ambition to work for Google in their web development department (or was the word order different). Ever since I saw the documentary about Google I’ve been wanting to work for them. Their offices are amazing and the policy is so god damn great. I think any nerd would agree on this one!

So, what is new? I did some re-modeling. As you can see, the navigation has 4 link now and blog post are kept separate. I’d like to keep the updates as small and to the point as possible, so you can see what is new in the minute you view the first page. I hope this is a good enhancement. The downside is the kind of shallow sidebar area. In the blog page I had an idea to add archive links but to tell you the truth I have no idea how to make that work (although I know a guy who learns PHP, should ask him for help). The point of having blog separate is to occasionally blog about random things not just updates. If you would want to read something about me that is a bit personal this is where you would find stuff. For those who don’t give a rat’s ass about me and want to see what is new, the updates table is on the index page.

I added some simple terms and conditions to “Stuff” page. Mainly to fill up the blank space that was left once I took down the updates table. Since I made a couple of rules I kind of expect people to read. I know most of my visitors don’t bother to read them, well because I didn’t have them before. I hope they do. Simple and easy to follow, I personally hate strict rules on non-touchable things. The only thing I’d hate to see is my web designs being “stolen” by someone who sucks at web design.

Oh and a new web design is coming soon, so stay tuned.

I did a small update a while ago and if you follow the sites twitter account you’ll know that I added some Christmas avatars. And recently I added a new web design for you to download. I worked on it for quite a while..more like on and off. I re-did some of the things and later added other things. In other words, I didn’t rush to finish it, because I wanted it to be more or less decent. It’s simple in its being, but I think you guys will like it .

So, what’s coming up? Actually, quite a lot. I’m making a new version for CC. New web design is in the making as well and I have plans to make a new set of smileys/emoticons (since the set that is available is quite popular). Obviously new avatars (I like to make them, especially GIF’s). Yes, I’m quite ambitious considering I’m in University, which takes so much time, but nevertheless worth attending.

I’m not sure who reads this stuff, but I will be hopeful. Holiday’s coming up and you can guess what that means. People will be busy and so will I. I have various concerts with the choir and the group I’m in. I also have butt-loads of school stuff and my nemesis—German language. So sadly I won’t update this website much. Also January is going to be silent because I have exams. However, if by any chance I do update it’s because I’m not doing the things I’m supposed to. Sounds rough and I’m sorry for that. But this is something I need to prepare you for.

On a brighter side—new avatars. Since nobody follows site’s official twitter account I think it’d be nice to inform you. I watching the series at the moment and loving it so far. I did another gif avatar. This time with a lot more frames, I’m so proud :D. I wish you guys would help me out and tell me what type of series you’d want to see in avatar form. Right now I make those that I like.

I will try one more time to make better wordpress theme coding since the one I’m using right now is terrible and full of errors. For now it is available for download and I apologize for that. In time (sounds lame) I will make it better. Sadly, I’m not a genius and can’t “cook up” a code from scratch. Well, not with wordpress, that is.

So, wordpress themes. I have uploaded 2 of 4. You’d think it’s a success, but no, I think otherwise. Initial idea was to finish the design I’m currently working on, and at the same time do the converting, but I just couldn’t help myself. The less work piles up on me the better I also like to do things “at the speed of light”. But anyway—2 themes are available for download and more are coming up.

Basically I will use the old coding that I had and tweak it up a bit. There many things I didn’t “stylize” back in the day, so I will fix that. I haven’t dropped the idea of better coded wordpress themes. I’m postponing it and most likely experiment in the background. I’d love to know some tricks of that damn blog tool. It’s gigantic and possibilities are almost endless and of course the community is big (which pretty much does most of the work). So, for now I’ve admitted my failure, hopefully I’ll be able to fix it (?!?).

Oh, I don’t know when themes will be up. Uni is kind of hectic and I’m kind of lazy which was not planned, but I’m trying to be good and study, even if it means during the night. Semester is about to end and I need my grades more or less good and tests have to be passed and then get ready for exams (and pray I will stay in the budget).

The last thing—thank you very much for downloading stuff from here. I do spy on you guys and see how much something has been downloaded and it makes me enormously happy to see numbers change just a little bit.

…don’t even know where to start. Well, I suppose I need to inform you that scumbag wordpress had to be re-installed and I don’t know what I screwed up there. Admin panel would not open when I log on. Instead of bothering to look into it I deleted the whole thing and re-installed. As a matter of fact I have started to work on the themes and once I’ll have the first one done, those two will be converted in no time. And to compensate on the long wait I have started to work on a new (4^th) design that will most likely be added once the wordpress issue will be solved. Patience is a virtue.

I didn’t come empty handed…I just didn’t dare. Since Halloween is basically tomorrow I made 4 avatars (not much, I know) for your enjoyment. Click here to grab a pumpkin.

Since I found out how to save animation in photoshop so that it stays animated after been saved I added a 88×31 (??) button, which is animated. YAY, now you guys can link me, if you want. Nevertheless I has a button and that problem is solved.

I’ve started to work on the wordpress themes. A bit late, but I guess it’s better late than never, right?….right? Anyway, those are slowly coming up and I haven’t made any new designs, but that doesn’t mean I won’t. I suppose I need to get rid of the wp themes which bug me every other day. I do remember warning you that I will take some time.

Oh..I’m doing quite nice. Thank you for wonder ;)

There are many activities to participate in (in the qbee website) and trade with others. That means if there should be a flower event—members pixel their own flowers and trade with others, if they want.

How this ties up to the title? Well, I participate in these events because it’s fun. I’m not a pro at pixeling but I see how I’m getting a bit better and that alone makes me feel so good (not to mention, it does boost up creativity). I adore people who can pixel. I think it’s insanely cool and creative because many of their works are complicated and take up to 10 hours (probably in one sitting). I’m watching this one guy in DeviantART—he usually does emoticons, but boy how awesome they are. I took inspiration from his work when I created (pixeled) my current patch.

Currently there is the Tea party event and I made my cup of tea.

I apply for link exchanges to avoid such snobby attitude many web owners hold these days, and to avoid ridiculous affiliate rules that might force me to do things I am not up for. I rather befriend people and than call them affiliates as I know those people would be worthy of such title.

Of course there is a chance that people are afk for like…years? I do specifically check when a site has been updated, since there are many outdated sites out there. Another possibility is that a web owner hasn’t been active for a while, let’s say…3 months. Then that might be a good excuse. In any other given situation it’s mean and rude.

Very soon I’ll add some high quality stock photos for you to download. Now there’s going to be some problems with that section because I don’t have a photo camera with me anymore so that section will be un-upated for a long time…until I’ll get me some of ‘em photo shotin’ thingies (photo camera).

I’m in process of creating a new set of emoticons. The problem is that I’ll need to go through some tutorials regarding face making. I suck at creating faces . I did 3 and then my brain stopped. Also avatars will come up soon…all kinds, anime, nature, movies, series, cartoons. My credit list will have a rapid increase .

There were a couple, well, one issue that I couldn’t stand and still can’t resolve which is the input area for name. It’s messed up and not pretty looking. Can anyone help me to solve this? But check out wysiwyg bar! Nice and not ugly looking. I took the css provided and it worked. Title are now clickable and there is no need to find “add a comment” link.

Still a couple of things to fix. I do believe I will add some textures and start to make new set of emoticons and icon textures. Also there is a wallpaper i want to finish and I will add some old ones as well. There is more stuff to come

As for wordpress themes, as I said, I will create them from scratch. It will take some time to do it, but I do believe that I willadd PHP includes ones simply because outdated designs page is worthless and editing themes in wordpress should be OK, if I have a template to work with.
