We are finally in shape to start building the museum displays in the New Year. The new building is finished, the café/shop area is complete, gallons of cider is maturing nicely, the loos and showers pristine and we have a camper arriving today, if he manages to erect a tent in this wind good luck to him.
Our new driveway is laid and it’s a great success with the seagulls as its made from recycled Boston cockleshells! Apparently they stop circling overhead once the smell fades.

So thanks to everyone who has helped so far, in particular:
Mike Ayriss
John Wilson-Hall
Turnbulls in Boston for the fantastic bonfire
East Lindsay Planning and Building Control who have both been epic
Len and Pauline
Richard and Shirley our brilliant long suffering neighbours
Tim
Our Jim
Matt and Dave
Eddie
Maurice Belton

Finally anyone who I have forgotten who has donned wellies and mowed and raked and helped.

The slightly indifferent weather did not dampen spirits at the first rally
at the new Museum premises, 45 intrepid campers packed the camping field
and dined in the new Museum Café. One of our helpers provided a guy for the
bonfire which was stacked high by Dawn and Tony Yorston with all the
building rubbish and a good helping of pallets from Turnbulls of Boston.

On
Saturday the trip to Alford Manor was a success thanks to the wildly
enthusiastic guide who made sure everyone enjoyed their trip to the Manor House, On
Sunday after a tour of the new Museum building 20 of us visited two
local village fairs and then stopped for a fantastic pub lunch at the Red Lion in
Stickford, which rounded off the rally.

Lincoln’s newest visitor attraction will soon be opening it’s doors. Situated near Boston, The Bubbblecar Museum will be the UK’s only public microcar museum, showcasing over 50 bubblecars, many in evocative period dioramas.

The museum has secured final approval on building regulations relating to the new museum and its display areas, with the local authorities concerned proving to be most helpful.

Work is underway on a mezzanine floor, which will house the museums extensive advertising and memorabilia archive. New flooring is due in coming weeks – along with the all important access staircase!

The museum development has featured on BBC Local radio, and volunteers have been lending a hand in the project too.

The latest batch of display cars to arrive include a rare Bamby, created by Yorkshire entrepreneur Alan Evans in the early 1980s. The car, which is locally owned, was unknown to the museum which has assembled a display of these strange little vehicles. A Cursor joins the display too – in pink. Possibly the ultimate in 80s bubblecar excess!

The Bubblecar Museum has a special museum preview on Sat, 5 Nov 2011. Why not come along? You need to book quickly however, tickets are going fast.
