Morgan three wheelers visit the museum

Last weekend we were pleased to welcome the Morgan three wheelers who braved the weapons-grade weather to visit us and also the National Microcar Committee who checked us out and assisted by demonstrating cars to visitors. Thanks for coming people.

Grand opening for the Bubblecar Museum!

The Bubblecar museum was officially opened by Boston Mayor Councillor Mary Wright on Saturday 17th March.
The revitalised museum which is located in Langrick, near Boston in Lincolnshre provides much more space for vehicle displays and improved visitor faciilities.

After cutting the ribbon to open the museum the mayor climbed in to a diminutive Peel P50 to sample micro car motoring.
The opening was covered by BBC News Lincolnshire, ITV News Central, local radio and This is Lincolnshire to name but a few.

The museum received a good number of visitors over the weekend. Feedback was positive with many favorable comments and much tea and cake consumed in the museum cafe!

The new museum, which contains over 30 microcars opened on schedule against many predictions.
Exciting developments are planned for the museum including a website shop and other delights.

New Bubblecar Museum nearing completion

In less than two weeks we open for business!

Working flat out now to finish the Museum displays. A great blend of waiting ’till the Artex dries in my hair to brush it out, fielding calls from the media, dressing teddy bears in T shirts and trying to sound calm and in control.
The Artex is easiest!
In between these tasks we are collecting cars who holidayed elsewhere during the building work.

STOP PRESS – very good news indeed, we are collecting our first Peel micro car tomorrow, which will be on display when the museum opens.

In the meantime we will do our utmost to stay sane, ready to welcome our first visitors!

Making progress at the Bubblecar Museum

We are finally in shape to start building the museum displays in the New Year. The new building is finished, the café/shop area is complete, gallons of cider is maturing nicely, the loos and showers pristine and we have a camper arriving today, if he manages to erect a tent in this wind good luck to him.
Our new driveway is laid and it’s a great success with the seagulls as its made from recycled Boston cockleshells! Apparently they stop circling overhead once the smell fades.
