Diamonds are forever. This statement rings true anywhere in the world. Women love diamonds and can never resist its charm. Even just for a day, allow me to dream about diamonds. Here goes my diamond daydream today:

I cannot wait to wear them this coming weekend for my friend’s wedding. This pair of man made eco diamonds are so classic and exquisite looking. I really have my friend to thank for, she gave me this website to check the beautiful diamonds and jewelry. My favorite color is red, the earrings look so “seductive”… lol… and my dress which I am going to wear is a dark maroon shade, complete with my black stockings and my pair of black stockings with a high heel shoes, I cannot wait to show off to my friends! Aren’t I vain? LOL…

Cheap Landmark Accessories

For cheap but stylish accessories, my go-to place is LandMark Makati. They have everything from hats and shawls to bags and jewelries. My latest acquisitions from the department store are some jewelry pieces that I got at dirt-cheap prices (all of them under P200).

Accessory Review: Accessorize London

Accessorize London is the latest accessory shop I'm frequenting these days. Why not if it has lots of fancy accessories that are sure to brighten every girl's outfit? I swear this is one shop where you can get nicely-made beaded, gold and silver-plated jewelry, bags in printed and floral patterns, leather belts, fashionable head pieces and a lot more.

So far, I've gotten only a handful of items from this shop and it seems I'd go back again for more. I like that the shop always has a sale (up to 70% off on most occasions), but it isn't store-wide. This means the customers have the freedom to choose between the sale and the regular-priced items, depending on what kind of accessory we're looking for.

As for me, I can only afford to buy from the sale items. Well, except for my first purchase which included a charmed necklace and this ring which I got at its regular price of P450:

Normally, I always end up getting gorgeous items from Accessorize London at rock-bottom prices. Like this "leafy" bracelet which I only got for P114:

So far, there are only two Accessorize shops that I know of: the one in Mall of Asia (MOA) and the one at Robinson Place Ermita. I prefer the latter because it has bigger space and more updated items than the former. But still, you have to check out the stores yourself to better understand what I mean.

There's one thing I could guarantee you, though. The staff of Accessorize London are friendly but never pushy and utterly distracting. They'd just let you choose, pick and try on their products to your heart's desire. Personally, that's the kind of service I want. I think SM sales clerks could learn a thing or two from them. :)

October is considered to be Breast Cancer Awareness Month. But everyday, the fight against breast cancer has to be strengthened. It has to carry on to help millions of women suffering from it. We don't have history of breast cancer int he family but that isn't a guarantee that we're 100% safe from it. After all, there are several factors that lead to breast cancer such as stress, toxins in our food, exposure to environmental estrogens and a person's poor health and lifestyle practices. Here in Manila, the I Can Serve Foundation is the premier breast cancer support network that helps breast cancer patients in their daily ordeals and undertakes projects aimed at strengthening the fight against breast cancer.

The fight against breast cancer can be shown in different ways. But I guess the first step to start the battle against this dreaded disease is to be aware. And what better way to be aware than to wear your advocacy through breast cancer t shirts. The more people can see, the more people can be aware. The more people aware of it, the greater efforts can be done to stop the spread of breast cancer and show support to those who are already suffering from it.

It’s still summer here in Manila and I hate the sweltering heat. It doesn’t help that I don’t have any plans of hitting the beach because my priority right now is my upcoming out-of -country trip to Kuala Lumpur and Singapore in October. Yes, I’m saving up money for that. It’s my first international travel, after all. It has to be fun and meaningful and money can do wonders.

Much as I want to travel light, I know I can’t. Right now, I’m sort of multi-tasking. I’m blogging while browsing through several shopping sites. I’m looking for some travel clothes. When I say travel clothes, I mean those comfy shorts and tops that make taking long walks in a foreign place a breeze.

Fashion with Scrubs

With healthcare getting more and more importance in our lives, professional medical workers continue to be in high demand as well. Sometimes I imagine myself a nurse and I take care of the sick. I would wear medical scrubs to work and attend to as many patients as I could. It's tiring and sometimes exhausting, yes, but the financial reward and the sense of fulfillment you get are unspeakable.

I wonder how a fashionable medical worker wears a scrub. If she's a girl, she must be wearing scrubs for women. If he's a boy, maybe some scrub uniforms for men. They might match their medical scrubs with a nice pair of white shoes to look neat and feel comfortable. The girl could wear a nice pair of pearl earrings as accessory and the boy, a good-looking watch. Actually, the possibilities are endless. Just because you work in a hospital or a medical institution doesn't mean you could let go of your sense of fashion. Or so I think.

The Tale of Two Necklaces

If I could pick my two most prized purchases from my impulsive shopping spree at SM Manila with Albie the other night, they would be the two necklaces I got from Trends. I initially got the first one (a necklace with small charms and a dangling pendant) for and upon noticing the dangling pendant in the middle, an idea popped in my head.

I approached the lady that sells metal chains by the inch and ask her for an 18-incher, gold-plated chain with lock. After granting my request, I then asked her to cut the dangling pendant from the first necklace I was buying and attached it to the 18-incher, gold-plated chain. This became my second necklace. The first necklace, on the other hand, became a charmed necklace only, a classic piece if you’ll ask me.

Instead of buying two separate necklaces, I was able to turn my first necklace into two beautiful jewelry pieces. I didn’t just save money by doing this (P430 total price at 50% off), but I also got the style I wanted.

That, my friends, is the tale of my two necklaces.

Signature Bags of 2011

I love bags. At one point in my life, I was able to acquire a dozen bags without knowing about it. I would instantly buy a bag when the design and the style catch my fancy. But I have never really purchased a signature bag yet. I buy local brands, yes. But nothing like those with monograms and owned only by a few number of people.

Bags come in different shapes, styles and designs. The bag industry continues to be a flourishing business, both locally and abroad. I guess the trend on handbags will continue this year. Ooopps, call that my fashion forecast. I particularly adore marc jacobs handbags. They're just too awesome and trendy and classic. Brands that stand out on handbags category, in my opinion, includes marc by marc jacobs, hermes, channel, MK and prada, among others.

We're lucky these days because there are many online shops that could give us the bag and other fashion items we need with just a few clicks of the mouse. And when they come with up to 65% discounts like what I saw over at Bluefly.com a while ago, who wouldn't get tempted?

My Prized Flats

My recent shopping spree with Albie courtesy of her BPI credit card at SM Dept. Store ended up happily. I was able to snatch away two pair of gorgeous shoes (one flats and one pumps), two stylish gold-plated necklaces and more ‘me’ items. Among the two pairs of shoes, I was wowed by the flats. It’s black and has a big metal stud that's shaped like a princess cut of diamond to me.

My flats is from the Parisian line of SM Dept. Store. It's made of synthetic leather. It's priced at P499.75. The first time I saw it, I knew it’s going to be mine. When I tried it on, it won me over. The size 8 pair fit my feet perfectly. It's also comfortable to walk on. (My feet didn't hurt nor develop sores after using it for a few hours this morning.)

Methinks the stud makes this pair a stand-out. I consider it my prized flats. Haha. I also love that it has enough front coverage, the lines in between my foot fingers don’t show like they normally do with ballet flats.

I bought the flats immediately without second thoughts. After all, I really needed one to wear in the office. I hope this pair lasts for months. :)

Luxury Shoes and Where to Get Them Online

Just when I thought the two pairs of shoes I bought from the recent mall sale was enough, I realized I needed more. Yes, it's really true that women cannot limit the number of shoes we have. Doing shoe shopping is one thing and being able to buy the shoes you like is another. The former is therapeutic; the latter is fulfilling.

Speaking of shoe shopping, have you ever tried getting your shoes online? I have bought dresses and accessories online a couple of times, but I have only tried acquiring shoes thru the internet once. It was a pair of black, mid-calf boots from UK that served me quite well.

I love getting shoes for myself. My little shoe dream is to own a pair of luxury shoes someday. It could be a Cole Haan shoes or a Christian louboutin shoes. I saw them at Bluefly.com (an online fashion shop) and I was awed by their sheer beauty. Actually, there are tons of beautiful shoes there in varying styles, sizes and prices. Literally, the shop has something for everyone.

My ultimate obsession, though, is a pair of prada shoes that spells of glamour and elegance. My only problem is my money ain't enough to buy luxury shoes yet. Maybe someday when my job gets more financially-rewarding.

I Need New Shoes

I just realized I need new shoes. On my way to the office this morning, I noticed that my four pairs of office shoes are all worn out. Well, not totally, but I think It’s about time I get some new pairs already. It’s rainy season and there hasn't been a greater need for me to keep my feet warm and protected than now.

Looking for shoes online is a breeze. Not only do I get to see the latest trends in footwear, but also choose the style I want. Right now, I feel like wearing boots in the office. An online friend based in the US said she’s currently crazy about hunter boots and just bought her second pair recently. So, what’s with these hunter wellies? I mean, hunter wellington boots. My friend thinks they’re not just fashionable, but are also very functional. I wonder if we have hunter wellingtons here in Manila. If we have, how much does a pair cost?

As far as I’m concerned, shoes are a basic necessity. And girls should never limit the number of shoes she could possibly own. I really think I need to go on a shoe shopping very soon. To my girl friends out there, any tips where to go?

I have always loved the beach. Somehow, the sea, the sun and the sand give me a calming effect and lift my spirit. Going to the beach (favorites are Panglao in Bohol and Blue Lagoon in Ilocos!) during summer with family and friends is my top summer activity. This year, I've already went to two beaches (Phi Phi Beach Resort in Morong, Bataan and Blue Lagoon Beach in Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte) and will try to squeeze in one more beach escapade before summer ends.

Going to the beach is also my ultimate excuse to pamper my feet. I always try to get myself a foot spa and a pedicure a day before hitting the beach. This way, I get to wear my flip flops and sandals more confidently and of course, prepare my feet for stress associated with traveling. I chanced upon some nice nail polish shades over at LizzBuenaventura.com which are part of the beauty haul she is giving away for her May giveaway. I wanted those nail polishes badly so I decided to join once more.

The last time I join Lizz's giveaway (she does it monthly so you better check out her fab beauty blog every once in a while!), I won myself a classic piece of handcrafted rose necklace. I hope the stars will conspire one more time to make me the winner! Oh please, pretty please. :)

Hush Puppies' The Body Shoe

When I saw this beautiful pair of sneakers from Hush Puppies in my mailbox, I just had to write about it. It's called The Body Shoe and as the blurb says, it allows for better movement and helps make the feet healthier. I plan to visit a Hush Puppies store in the mall one of these days to check out the shoes in the flesh.

But I'm not buying yet because for sure, it will cost me an arm and a leg. I better save some money first. :)

Hand Crafted Rose Necklace by Lizz B.

I'm a fan of my blogger friend Lizz B.'s fabulous hand crafted necklace creations. I really think she's a natural artist. The first time I set my eyes on the rose necklace she was giving away in her blog, I knew I wanted it. But I could only have it if luck was on my side. Fortunately, it was.Just the other week, I got an email from her informing me I won her giveaway which was done through an electronic raffle. My happiness couldn't be contained at that moment. Three days after, the rose necklace arrived via express delivery. It's true that when you think a lot about something, the tendency is you attract it and the thing gravitates towards you.

The necklace I won has a rose pendant with leaves dangling under it. It's silver-plated chain is made unique by the addition of two pearls on one side, just before the part where the pendant is attached.

My rose necklace speaks of pure love. It's something every girl would wish to have. I dunno but that's how I feel about it. I like how it catches the attention of people especially when I'd pair it with a plain top. It's a fashion statement in itself. I'm so lucky to have won it. Now I'm a proud Lizz B. necklace owner.

My rose necklace is gonna be a classic piece of jewelry a few years from now. What do you think? :)

P150 Vintage Tank Dress from our Neighborhood Ukay-Ukay Shop

A few steps from where I live lies an ukay-ukay shop (thrift store) that sells an assortment of cheap, vintage clothes. I have already bought several items from them before, but this is the first time I’m blogging about my ukay-ukay purchase. It’s a purple vintage tank dress which I got for only P150. Talk about bargain hunting/budget shopping.

What made me decide to buy this dress was the unique design of its lower body. You see, the uneven, short stitches (pleats) make it appear like a wide, balloon skirt. When I tried the dress on, I instantly fell in love with the volume made by those artsy pleats. I imagined myself wearing it in the office topped with a white cardigan to make it a bit formal. Or just as it is when I hit the mall with the boyfriend.

I really like this dress. It’s great I found this in our neighborhood ukay-ukay shop before somebody else gets it. Ukay-ukay shops are love. One man’s trash is indeed another man’s treasure.

Oh and, if ever you get to pass thru Nagtahan area, check this ukay-ukay shop on J.P. Laurel St., just in front of Max’s Restaurant. Their vintage dresses sell for P150 only. Their vintage tops and skirts are cheaper at P100 per piece. They also have vintage shoes and men’s apparel on display.
