According to MMU's financial policies and procedures, the financial barring shall be enforced to all students regardless of sponsorship status and subsequently accompanied by unbarring criteria for the selected sponsors. The financial barring had been executed on 26th April 2012 (Thurs) and the auto unbarring shall be completed by 27th April 2012 (Fri) .

The unbarring criteria is as follows:
1. Within sponsorship duration
2. Within sponsorship coverage (If non coverage such as IT , Library, Hostel fees and Student Trust Fund, student need to make full settlement)
3. No summon outstanding
4. Other criterias specified by Finance

In view of the ISO 9001:2008 certification for Finance by mid 2012, the financial unbarring shall only take effect upon PAYMENT RECEIPTING i.e. clearance in MMU's bank account and updating in Student Financial Info Kiosk (SFIK) towards improving overall effectiveness of financial policies/procedures and most importantly to curb any FRAUDULENT payment incidences.

As such, all modes of payment will be effected such as Cash Deposit Machine (CDM), CIMB Click Bill Payment, EPF withdrawal Account 2, local bank tranfer, foreign remittance, bank draft, cheque etc except for cash (up to max RM100) and credit/debit card over the Finance Counter for Cyberjaya & Malacca campuses.

Pleased also be reminded that FINANCE SHALL NOT ENTERTAIN ANY URGENT FINANCIAL UNBARRING REQUEST from the students prior to payment receipting w.e.f. 20th April 2012 onwards as to avoid any inconveniences caused especially during final exam and course registration with pre-imposed deadline by Exam Unit & Record (ERU).

Dear Students,

I wish to inform you that there are some slight changes to the Academic Calendar for the above Trimesters.

Senate on 1 December 2011 had decided that there will be 3 weeks of trimester break for Trimester 2 2011/2012 and it will be from 20 February 2012 until 11 March 2012. The Trimester 3 2011/2012 will start on 12 March instead of 5 March 2012.

Due to the above arrangements, there will be no Study Break which has been scheduled earlier from 30 April until 6 May 2012.

These changes were made due to 2 days of public holiday that will be on 6 and 7 February for the replacement holiday for Prophet Muhammad's Birthday and Thaipusam respectively. Since that we will be having 2 days of break in the Examination Week for Trimester 2 2011/2012 Final Examination, the Examination will be conducted in three (3) sessions (Morning , Afternoon & Evening) for almost every day. Therefore, more days are required to enable examiners to mark answer scripts more efficiently.

The amendment of the Academic Calendar is enclosed.

Dear Student,
I wish to highlight on some amendments that have been made to the Supplementary Examination Guidelines. The changes that have been made are as follows:

a) The eligibility:
Supplementary Examination will be granted for genuine MC or special cases as 1st attempt; and for -------Fail" subject as 2nd attempt with conditions as stated in the attachment.

b) The Process Flow of Supplementary Examination:
i) Student who has been granted Supplementary Examination is required to ensure that all outstanding fees have been paid in order to print out the exam slip of Supplementary Examination.

ii) Student will be invoiced based on the subjects that he has taken for Supplementary Examination and based on the number of MC that has been submitted for Supplementary Examination. Please take note that no MC will be accepted for those who have been granted to sit Supplementary Examination as 2nd attempt.

iii) Student has to pay the Supplementary Examination Administration Fees before the release of the Supplementary Examination result in order to obtain the result.

I would like to seek you attention here that ONLY Medical Certificate (MC) and Medical Report from Panel Clinics and Hospitals are accepted.

Please be informed that the proposed revision of Financial Barring Policy and Processes in MMU has been endorsed by the Management Committee effective from 31st July 2011 for Trimester 1, 2011/2012 onwards.

The revision is mainly to enforce full (or 100%) settlement of total outstanding fees for previous Trimester (s) as opposed to the current policy 40% (examination slip), 40% (course registration) and 20% (result). However, settlement for current Trimester remains as full (or 100%) payment or minimum fee 40-40-20 for those student facing financial constraint. The comparison can be seen in the following table:

Assalamualaikum & Good Day,

Dear Staff/Students

Security Department Melaka Campus would like to remind again pertaining to vehicles being parked at 'No Parking' zone area.

Areas such as yellow lines, junctions, corners or places that may cause danger, obstruction the smooth and orderly movement to traffic flow and inconvenience to any other person or vehicle. Security Department will not hesitate to take stern actions against people who break MMU traffic rules.

As usual, please park your vehicles at all designated places. Please utilize the new parking at Taman Dahlia as it could accommodate number of vehicles as much as 250 cars in one time.

As for students, please do not park your car at staff parking area during office hours. Summons will be issued if you park your vehicles at the staff parking area.

Assalamualaikum & Good day

Dear Students,

Please do not park your vehicle along Jalan Ayer Keroh Lama (In front of MMU main entrance) because it will cause obstruction for emergency vehicle (BOMBA & AMBULANCE) during unexpected emergency incident and make difficulty to MMU buses to go in and out from campus.

Kindly park your vehicle at allocated parking area to avoid risk of accident along Jalan Ayer Keroh Lama or being summoned by the authorities.

Therefore, students with valid MMU vehicle sticker are advised to utilize the allocated -------Student Parking Area" in MMU Campus including new parking area at Taman Dahlia (behind NTU building) as it could accommodate number of vehicles as much as 250 cars in one time.

The Information Technology Services Division (ITSD) Cyberjaya and Melaka Campuses have been certified with ISO/IEC 20000-1:2005 by SIRIM QAS International on 8th April 2011. The scope of certification covering Network Telecommunication Services, IT Software Services, Multimedia Technology Services and Media Support Services.

It is truly a great achievement for ITSD as MMU is the first Malaysian university to be certified with the ISO/IEC 20000-1:2005. The certification acknowledges the effort and dedication ITSD has put towards World Class IT Service Excellence. On top of that ITSD, MMU is among the 16 organizations in Malaysia certified under the APM Group. The APM Group is leading Accreditation, Certification and Qualification organization recognized internationally by government agencies.

In accordance with Section 3.2 of the "Pekeliling Kesihatan Awam Bilangan 1 Tahun 1997, Penguatsaan Peraturan - Peraturan Kawalan Hasil Tembakau 1993 dan Pindaan - Pindaannya" Act states that, the following areas are gazettes as 'No Smoking Zone':

1.All entertainment outlets except Pubs, Discotheques, nightclubs and other areas as may be specified.
2.All Hospitals or Clinics.
3.All public Lifts.
4.All air-conditioned eating outlets.
5.All mediums of public transports wherein all passengers are required to pay fares according to scheduled and permanent routes.
6.In all Building contrary to any stipulation expressed under Regulation 12 (Office Building Island & Peninsular Kuala Lumpur, Petrol Station)
7.All air-conditioned shops and buildings.
8.All airports, except designated as 'Smoking Zones' by the relevant authorities.
9.All Government premises.
10.All Halls.
11.ALL EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS.
12.All Kindergartens and Nurseries.
13.All Children's playground and recreational parks.
14.All terminals of Public Transport.
15.In all Schools.
16.All services counters of Banks, Financial Institutions, Telekom Malaysia Berhad, Tenaga Nasional Berhad and Pos Malaysia Berhad.
17.All Sports complexes.
18.All Stadiums.

Note: "Educational Institution means schools either public or private that provide higher education and offer diploma, degree or other certificate or its equivalent".

Dear students,

Security Division would like to remind all MMU students to park your vehicles at allocated parking area. Allocation of Car Park area:

1) Staff Car Park:
Administration Building Car Park, CITS Car Park, FBL & Block B Building, Car Park at Taman Dahlia Gate (Beside STP), New FOSEE Building Car Park & CLC Car Park.

2) Students and visitors car park
CLC Car Park (Beside Chiller Plant and Tennis Court) & Hostel

Note: After office hours students are allowed to park their Vehicle at any car park except Covered Car Park Area.

Occasionally there will be events held in campus where we need to reserve car parks to make way for the visitors. In this case, students are advised to park properly. Please avoid causing obstruction to the traffic flow. Announcement will be made in the bulletin board.

Please avoid placing the Vehicle directly at the junction. Actions will be taken.

Please apply and put the sticker at your vehicle. Appropriate actions will be taken if no sticker available.
