Mike was born and bred in Lower Hutt, but now lives in Bulls with his wife Debbie, and their two boys Jacob (13yrs) and Nathan (11yrs) - Mike has an older daughter too, 19-year-old Jenna. Mike and Debbie both work for the RNZAF, and are based at Ohakea Air Base. Mike coaches several softball teams, and with Debbie, the local youth football club. On their wishlist is a family holiday, new car, and braces for the kids!

In this video we also hear how Lotto has contributed to the fun signage around the township of Bulls - it's incredi-bull!

Taihape Gum Boot Day

I took a drive down the road over the weekend to Taihape's gumboot day celebrations. It was a great family day out, and the event had that typical New Zealand Kiwiana feeling with live music, gumboot art, kids entertainment and craft and food stalls. My husband and I had much debate over strategy of our gumboot throws and wow there was some impressive distances made by some. The Baa Blacks were really neat but the lawn mower racing stole most of our attention. Thanks to

Le Cafe Telephonique for a delish lunch.

It was such a beautiful day and the scenery was at its best so we pulled over alot to take pics oh, and a stop in to Huntsville's Revive to test out the ice cream. It was a great day had by all.

If you are local or just passing through Frankies ice cream parlour will have a flavour for you. With so many to pick from with shakes, and frozen yoghurt too. My favourite is the affogato ice cream, for those days when its to hot for that coffee hit this really hits the spot. Please go and try for yourself and report back with your flavour of choice.

Well its that time of year again dare I say, Yes Christmas and it is crazy busy everywhere. So why not pop in or give Jill a call at Jinja flowers and get some flowers, reefs, or centre pieces to brighten the festive mood, She can also arrange deliveries world wide. I went in today myself to pick up some Christmas lillie's, and could not walk past some beautiful Peonies. The house now smells amazing.

However Jill is a very talented florist so if in need of that special bouquet whether weddings, anniversary's, or just to get out of the dog box she's your lady.
