For Aug/Sept Specials, we present ……

Egg and Ginger Salad
Our Ginger Salad always plays second fiddle to Tea Leaf Salad which is rightfully first. But then, it could also because of the strong taste of ginger that takes time to enjoy. Therefore, we add scrambled egg to Ginger Salad to tone down the ginger and add another layer of texture to the salad.

Bun Tay Kauswer (Spicy Noodle)
Some diners requested something spicy. Bun Tay Kauswer is one of spicy noodle dishes from Burma. We tried it and had sweat running down from our heads.

Mango Fish
We always serve Mango Chicken. Recently, we learned that fish pairs well with mango and also with tomato. So, why not. Mango Fish with tomatoes.

CNN is going to show Anthony Bourdain visiting Rangoon and Bagan of Burma tomorrow, April 14 at 6pm Pacific Time. He traveled all over Myanmar eating all kinds of Burmese foods. Don’t miss it since there is going to be incredible scenery and great food that you may have tried in Burmese restaurants like us or others in San Francisco Bay Area. The following is the link to CNN about the show.

Do you know boiled egg is one of the best for deep frying especially without batter? Yes, it is. Boiling makes the eggs impenetrable to oil. Frying makes it a tad crispy outside. The result: A contrast of soft, smooth interior to yummily rough exterior. Bet that you have never had eggs like these.

Substitutes yellow noodle from our noodle salad with Soba. Makes Soba sexier. Makes our noodle salad even more nutritious and more fiber.

Rainbow Salad with Shrimps

Rainbow Salad usually is a vegetarian dish. That was how one of the Burmese lady street vendor had always served in Rangoon, Burma until she decided to surprise me. She asked if I wanted to add shrimps out of the blue. I said, “Huh?” and with hesitation, “Sure, I try it”. To my surprise, my favorite Rainbow Salad showed me another side that I had not known. Thought that you might want to try too.
