It’s official, our 20% project is now officially in the App Store. Divvycam Pro for a limited time is $0.99.
To get the app, visit http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/divvycam/id480270517?ls=1&mt=8
For more information, visit http://divvy.burst-dev.com

Divvycam is a easy to use photo sharing utility. Share photos with your friends just like if you were sharing a memory card for a camera!

The great part is, you don’t even need to create an account or connect to Facebook. You create a bucket, email that bucket to your friends and you’re ready to share.

When you’re done with your bucket, you can easily download all your photos onto your computer with a click of a button.

If you like Divvycam, you can upgrade to the Pro version in the app to get rid of the ads, add more buckets and have better quality photos.

Divvycam is a 20% project and is an experiment into the App Store. So bear with us as we implement more features into the application.

The Music App’s Death and Rebirth to Open Source

Because of the recent transitions of Facebook, many of the API calls that were used in the application were deprecated (especially ones relating to the old FBML code). Because of this, it was not worth storing files anymore or keep the application running, especially on the low amount of funding it received.

For all of you that have not known, the Music App started in 2007 and had over 4 million users, 350,000 of which were monthly active users (in 2011). It was a great learning experience in both scaling, systems administration and definitely coding for the team.

For all of you that have supported us, we are very sorry. Many of your donations have helped contribute to the existence of the application. We are very sorry for the inconvenience we may have caused. As a note, you can also use other services such as Dropbox or Soundcloud to deposit your music onto Facebook profile.

For those of you that are interested, the application is now open source and can be found on Github. Any developers that want to adapt it or use it as code reference can. Note that this was developed during my “learning” stages of PHP and web programming as you may see (the code is very disorganized).

Because I haven’t touched it in such a long time, I consulted my friend Google and stumbled upon a very nice tutorial. I also assume that you do know a little bit of programming (like if-statements), for it to be “useful” to you.
