Recently some tests were carried out to see how anti-virus software affects the speed of the your PC both at start up and shut down. Some anti-virus tools are known as ‘resource pigs’ due to the detrimental effect on your computer resources.

A recent test focused on free anti-virus software. The results may surprise you. For many of us a free ant virus tool is first choice. Much of the free anti-virus software out there is very good indeed, in fact one reason why many have left off using the big guys AV software such as Norton and MacAfee  is the speed issues that have been  bandied around the internet. After all why pay for software that slows your machine down unnecessarily, especially on older machines?

Many computer users favour AVG which has been around a good while and has offered genuinely free protection. However AVG did not fare well in the test mentioned. Of course the speed issues are not the only important factor. Obviously the virus protection offered is the most important issue but speed issues must be considered. This is not considering of course the free versus paid AV software debate. So which AV product should you use? Personally I like AVAST free anti virus version as it offers very low resource usage, excellent speed and great protection and, it’s free. However the choice is yours —and with a little research you can make an informed choice.

The Corby based business wins the UK’s most prestigious business award for the first time for its outstanding achievement in overseas earnings growth with year-on-year increases in export sales calculated at 119% since 2008.

Established in 1984, Cambridge Manufacturing Company Ltd (CMC) employs 177 people and is part owned by an Employee Benefit Trust. The company manufactures and markets Cambridge 800 in Spain.

In the UK Cambridge Weight Plan is sold through more than 2200 accredited independent Cambridge Consultants who provide advice, guidance and support during all phases of weight care from initial weight loss to long-term weight maintenance. Here in Spain we operate the same professional model as the UK, but with a different product, Cambridge 800. However, obesity is now a global health issue and the company operates in markets as diverse as Holland, Vietnam, South Africa and Saudi Arabia. The brand has also just been launched in Australia.
