Forecast demand for workers and skills across a range of occupations shows that the current shortages in remote areas are set to grow dramatically in the next 5 years. Not only are Australian organisations competing for this talent, global energy and mining companies are offering attractive value propositions luring some workers offshore and well off the continental shelf .The presentation looks at some of the innovations used to tailor and deliver employment value propositions to attract, develop and retain highly productive and loyal remote workforces.

This weekend in Boston I am of Moderating a series of Workshops at the Harvard Business School as part of reunion Weekend. Once every 5 years Harvard Business School Alumni from the classes of 91, 96, 2001 and 2006 gather at the Business School to connect in person and get the latest updates on the research and insights generated on key organisational issues facing business, government and the For Community Benefits organisations (my new word for Not For Profits). Two of the major issues to be discussed at the Social Media (SM) Boot Camp revolve around leveraging SM for Career Development and for Customer Engagement. Come back to future Blog Posts for insights from leaders from Internet organisations including LinkedIn, Facebook, Expedia and Google. We will also gather the views of entrepreneurs in music, education and digital marketing.
