You can now print listings directly from Buyfolio!

When you’re in the Details tab of a property listing, either in the Folio or Search listings section, look for the printer icon and the Open as PDF button at the bottom right of the page.

This will convert the listing into a beautiful and printable PDF, with all the property details, description, map, and recent in-building sales data.

This PDF is also branded with your photo and contact information at the top.

It’s the perfect feature for agents and buyers who prefer paper to mobile. Once in awhile we all like to do things the old-fashioned way.

Engineers and development teams covet the time and freedom to pursue ideas outside of their day-to-day projects. “Hacking” gives them the opportunity to investigate new technologies, build what isn’t on the product roadmap, and try something management hasn’t approved. It’s the chance to experiment, think outside the box, and dream.

Great ideas are born from hacking, which is why smart tech companies set aside time for their engineers to do it. Zillow is one of these smart  companies. As a new member of the Z family, our development team was ecstatic to participate in Z’s Winter Hack Week.

Great ideas were certainly born that week, including one of Buyfolio’s newest features: infinite scroll.

Infinite scroll replaces pagination with a slick way to see more data without having to advance a page. It also means everything you’ve already seen – like listing results – is just a scroll away. No more toggling between pages. No more clicking Next. The back button is so 2012.

When you’re reviewing listing results on Buyfolio and you come to what would have been the bottom of a page, you’ll be greeted by a See More Results button. Once you click it you’ll experience the bliss that is infinite scroll and the wonder of hacking.

If you’ve logged into your Buyfolio account in the last few days you’ve noticed some changes to our search. This was the final phase of our 3-phase re-design. And we saved the best for last!

In addition to some design updates which make Buyfolio’s search even more intuitive and easy-to-use, we’ve also made some significant enhancements.

First: Aside from the sliders, there are now only two buttons that affect your search results: Location and Required Features.

In the Location section, our neighborhood and draw a custom area remain unchanged. But when you click on the Required Features button you’ll see a consolidation of the most critical and often-searched building and apartment features:

You should use the check boxes and text boxes in this section when there are must-have criteria for the type of building and apartment you’re looking for. We’ll only return search results that match the exact criteria you’ve entered.

Second: For nice-to-have building and apartment features we’ve added an Add Criteria column (similar to the one in the Folio):

By checking the boxes in this section, you’ll be able to add individual columns to your search to see what data we have for those particular fields. From there, you can make the best-educated decision on whether or not to add them to the Folio.

This change is critical in delivering the most viable properties for your home search.

Third: We now include Open Houses in the Search view and the ability to sort by them as well.

Our goal is to always provide you with the most listings possible for your search so you can find a home that meets your needs as quickly as possible.

Yes, yes, we know, everything about Brooklyn is great: the food, the parks, the people. Which is why we’ve made searching for a home in Brooklyn great too. We’ve added past sales data going back to 2008 for the entire borough. We’ve done the work so all you have to do is go to the “Sold in this Building” tab for whatever Brooklyn property you’re checking out to access information about past sales, like:

• Prior Listing Photos – Click the thumb nail photo to see what the unit looked like when it was on the market (if there aren’t any photos it was an off-market sale where no photos were published).
• Days on Buyfolio – See how long the unit was “on Buyfolio”, which is similar to Days on Market (we just count the days that Buyfolio actually saw the unit for sale).
• Alternate Addresses – Even if a building is known by multiple addresses we show you all the sales for that one building in a single list. (As you can see below, this building in known as both 365 Bridge Street and 101 Willoughby Street).
