Gossip Girl's Taylor Momsen and Nike get together to shoot a viral video campaign for Nike Sports.

The viral clip has Momsen swarmed by photogs when leaving the gym, which is followed by some softcore parkour action. Like all of Nike's virals, this campaign is yet another success with views rocketing above 150,000. The product placement was subtle and clear, almost saying "We're Nike... and now enjoy this advertainment" (Transparency is key). And it leaves you wondering and in awe, like every viral video should.

Burger King's Facebook Viral Marketing Campaign

Crispin Porter + Bogusky never cease to amaze me. Continuing on their viral streak, following Whopper Virgins, Whopper Freakout, The Burger King King, and the Subservient Chicken, they come out with their latest campaign - Whopper Sacrifice, a facebook application / marketing ploy that actually works.

There are many Facebookers out there that seem to just rake in friends by the hundreds... friends can almost be considered as keepsakes. Most of those new relationships don't even develop. Burger King, looking to caplitalize from the Facebook application fad developed truly viral and incentivized FB campaign that takes advantage of those inherently weak connections. The application encourages users to sacrifice 10 of their friends to get a free whopper, limited to 1 whopper per person. Those sacrificed will then have the option to sacrifice another 10 of their friends, and so on - essentially viralizing the campaign.

Now by sacrificing you are actually severing ties from your so-called friends. However, "You like your friends, but you love the Whopper". It shouldn't be too hard - even if those people do find out you sold them out for a burger.

Reebok and NFL Launch Fantasy Files 2008

In 2006 the NFL and Reebok introduced three viral-style commercials called “NFL Fantasy Files”, which ran on-air, on the web and on Globatrons in stadiums, to promote and drive traffic to NFL.com.

The Fantasy File series, created by Blue Room, started in August 2006 with three high profile NFL players, Neil Rackers (Arizona Cardinals), Chris Simms (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) & Braylon Edwards (Cleveland Browns), performing some absolutely fantastic acts, crossing the line of possibility, in order to get picked.

Last year the New York-based creative services agency continued the campaign with the addition of six new videos to its “NFL Fantasy Files” series starring NFL personalities Marques Colston (New Orleans Saints), Mike Nugent (NY Jets), Andre Johnson (Houston Texans), Jason Campbell (Washington Redskins), David Akers (Philadelphia Eagles) and Marc Bulger (St. Louis Rams).

Since last week four new 2008 “NFL Fantasy Files” videos have been released by Blue Room. Viral Video - Samsung's Instinct

Life is an adventure and you get to choose yours. In the first piece of what will be a fully integrated campaign for Instinct, Samsung's intuitive "touch screen device" - could someone other than Apple please come up with a word for a phone that does stuff? - the digital crew at Fjord Interactive Marketing + Technology has posted a viral video that lets people play. "We think that this is the first time any brand has used it," says Cameron Bedford, general manager at Fjord, the digital arm of Cossette.

By "it" Mr. Bedford means YouTube annotations that allow the viewer - the phone targets young, professional, gadgety males aged 25-34 - to guide the story line using the mouse. What did Samsung think of the spot when Fjord presented it? Responds Jo Allan, marketing manager at the company's wireless terminals division: "Awesome. Very cool. Gotta do it. Love it. It was an absolute must-do from the time they presented it." The phone launches with Bell next week and later in the summer with Telus. To see the video, go to youtube.com.

Now this video is awesome! I've never seen an interactive YouTube video before today. The video was added yesterday and has received close to 2 million views EOD. I think it's safe to say interactive videos are viral worthy. Unfortunately they disabled the embedding capabilities, so you'll have to go to click on the picture below to view the video and make sure you come back to view the spoiler below. Don't cheat!

Here's the spoiler... none of the cards that show up after selecting your card were in the initial 6 cards that were shown to you, so no matter what card you select, the one the magician removes at the very end will always be assumed to be your card since none of the 5 cards remaining look familiar. Pay attention to 2 or 3 cards and you'll notice none of them are in the final flop. Not bad for an interactive video debut.

From Friend Request to the Next Internet Millionaire

Recently I’ve been receiving some random Facebook invites from people that I’ve never met. I never get invites from people I don’t know... maybe on Myspace, but not Facebook. Not long ago I decided to make my bViral homepage a little bit more personal, so I included a link to my Facebook, Myspace, LinkedIn, and Twitter accounts on the Contact Us page. Unable to keep up with each medium I removed the links and focused outreach. Now all I have on the Contact Us page is our Youtube, Metacafe, and my Blogger links. You don’t want to spread yourself thin - I always hear. Anways, I assume these invites came from my website before I removed the links.

I digress. So, I’ve been receiving some random Facebook invites. Weary from the Myspace days of porn webcam invites, I proceeded to do a bit of digging before I accepted. Starting with a Google search of a friend request, I found myself surfing through his myspace video page and then onto the homepage of “The Next Internet Millionaire” a web reality show hosted by Joel Comm, an established internet millionaire. The show is like any other reality TV show. Contestants compete against one another through a series of games that test their online money-making capabilities. The winner receives $25K in cash as well as a percent of the profits earned from their projects. The show took place in 2007, and ended in late November. The winner was Jaime Luchuck, one of the 12 contestants on the show, whom entered thanks to her father’s persistence and with no knowledge whatsoever of internet marketing. She wrote a book as part of a project during the reality show called “From Cubicle Slave to the Next Internet Millionaire”, which made around $70K in the first week of its release. Now that’s amazing!

On that last episode, #13, they discussed a sales technique called up-selling. Of course, at the end of the show you get a first hand taste of what up-selling is all about when they Joel Comm pitches “The Secret Classroom”, a DVD set that contains each full 2 hour seminar presented to the contestants before every competition. I don’t know what to make of this DVD set or the book, but I do know that they banked off of both, and all the contestants have great things to say about the speakers and their seminars. 2012: The Year The Internet Ends

I don't know if this is true, but it's a scary possibility. YouTube member, AtheneWins, made an announcement on June 1st informing the YouTube community of a global initiative headed by large multinational ISPs that plan to charge website access. "Every significant Internet provider around the globe is currently in talks with access and content providers to transform the internet into a television-like medium: no more freedom, you pay for a small commercial package of sites you can visit and you'll have to pay for seperate subscriptions for every site that's not in the package". Here are the packages that are claimed to have leaked from credible sources within these multinational corporations.

It's pretty hard to grasp what this entails, but here is a list of possible consequences. I'm not qualified to make an official prediction, but it these outcomes that seem obvious to me so don't hold me to them.

Consequences
1) 90 -100% drop in visits for small websites and blogs
2) The end of web surfing
3) Dramatic decrease in e-commerce revenue
4) Online/Offline Revolt
5) ISP and website embargoes
6) New ISPs providing free and broader internet access
7) Policital backlash

Why is this happening?
I Power explains that the drasticly decreasing effect traditional advertising has on consumers in recent years plus the rapid growth of the internet as a social and less commercial medium has led these multinational corporations to attempt to secure the internet as a purely commercial tool. In essence, they're putting side blinders on us in hopes of directing us to their products and services. I'm affraid they'll pull it off if we don't do something to stop it.

Like the saying goes, "Hope for the best, plan for the worst". Be viral and pass this on...

So I've been seen a lot of posts about this artist who sent a package around the world to draw a self-portrait. I'm thinking this guy has to be either rich or have this whole thing sponsored by DHL or a GPS brand. In actuality he did this for a final project at Beckmans College of Design and the whole thing is fictional, well most of it. He traveled to a few cities with camcorder and a suitcase using his budget of $3,370, a tiny fraction of the actual cost to pull off a project like this.
