Exciting New Pacemaker from Medtronic

Many thanks to the folks at Engadget for this little tidbit of news. It appears that Medtronic is working on a new pacemaker without leads that can be wireless monitored by doctors. It is a huge step forward in pacemaker technology. As the image shows, the size is dramatically reduced, and it should be implantable with much less surgical trauma to the patients. Obviously, we at the BWMF are excited to see developments like this in the field of cardiac disease treatment.

Margaret Mcelroy and Taylor Gulbins receive the BWMF Memorial Scholarship at HMHS

Taylor Gulbins and Margaret McElroy received the 2010 Brad Wilby Memorial Scholarship awarded annually to two student athletes at Haddonfield Memorial High School. The scholarship is awarded to an athlete who has a desire to play at the college level with at least a B average and demonstrated leadership, both on and off the field.
