Crytek has rolled out yesterday Crysis 3 Multiplayer Beta for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 along with a new gameplay trailer which presents two different multiplayer game modes.
"Hunter Mode:
This multiplayer game mode is all about the survival of the fittest. There are two teams, initially comprised of two permanently cloaked “Hunters”, and up to fourteen CELL troopers awaiting extraction. Each trooper slain respawns on the Hunter team to prey on their former allies, building to a frenetic climax. If any of the troopers survive the round, the hunters lose. Whichever way you play, Hunter Mode delivers a heart-pounding test of strategy and survival.
Crash Site Mode:
This multiplayer game mode is the ultimate King of the Hill type experience. An Alien dropship deploys a pod at random around the map. Players on each team must remain near the dropped pod in order to capture the zone and accumulate points. Each alien pod holds two shields players can utilize defensively as weapons. In addition, each Crash Site map will have a “Pinger”, a CEPH-constructed walking weapon of mass destruction. But be careful, other players can hijack the Pinger while you’re inside of it!"
Crysis 3 will be available starting from February 19th, it can be pre-ordered from the official website.

The alpha version of Origin for Mac is available for downlaod

Origin, the digital distribution platform of the Electronic Arts content has became today available for Mac users from North America and the United Kingdom.

The Mac version of the Origin service will operate in a similar way to the PC version, will provide automatic patches for certain titles, will have cloud support, will allow users to purchase and download games, chat with other users and access previously saved games.

To download Origin alpha, users will need a Mac with at least Intel Core2 Duo and OS X 10.6.8 or later.

Nokia has officially confirmed that the 808 PureView model was the last smartphone with Symbian

NEC Medias W, the Android smartphone with two 4.3 inch screens

NEC, a manufacturer that activates on Japanese mobile phone market seems to have found the ideal way to combine the portability of a smartphone with the freedom offered by a large tablet.
Medias W N05E is a folding phone with two screens, each with a diagonal of 4.3 inches and a 560x960 pixels resolution. Attached to the back of the phone using a hinge mechanism, the second screen can be opened and brought to the same level as the front display.
This way the Android interface is extended to cover the whole working area and supports touch controls on any of the screens. Of course, black strips which remains between the screens makes impractical the viewing of the photos and videos, but for working with text documents, web pages, files collections or contacts browsing the advantages are obvious.

NEC Medias W has a camera with a resolution of 8 MP , 16 GB internal storage and microSD slot to expand it, a dual-core chip at 1.5 GHz, 1 GB RAM and runs Android 4.1, Jelly Bean.

Even with two screens, Medias W succeeds to limit the weight to 183 grams, in a case of 6.4 mm thickness with a battery of 2100 mAh.

Unfortunately NEC provides the Medias W N05E model only for the Japanese market, where it will be available starting from April.

Unlike a Web search engine that scans pages and provides results in the form of links, Graph Search is a semantic search engine within the giant Facebook's database.
Based on the multitude of interconnections the Facebook internal search engine future will not provide links, it gives answers.
Graph Search , currently in beta stage, can be used for to perform searches which can be simple structures like "my friends who lived in X" or "my friends who visited Y" or complex searches such as "People called X wh are friends with Y and went to college "or" the Z ethnic restaurants appreciated by my friends with the Z nationality".
With a history not so favorable when it comes to protecting the personal information, the company wanted to clarify that these searches will take into account the user settings, the results are limited to the type of content made public.

ZTE will launch smartphones with Firefox OS in Europe this year

The Chinese company ZTE has announced its plans to launch smartphones with the operating system from Mozilla, Firefox OS in 2013, in Europe.

Samsung has presented Exynos 5 Octa

Samsung has introduced, at CES 201, a new hybrid mobile chipset, Exynos 5 Octa, with 8 cores.
Similar with the 4-PLUS-1 architecture used by NVIDIA Tegra 3, Exynos 5 Octa has four Cortex A15 cores clocked at a maximum frequency of 1.8 or 2 GHz and four Cortex-A7 cores, clocked at a frequency maximum of 1.2 GHz. Data processing work will be divided between the different strength core, low or medium tasks will be executed on Cortex-A7 cores, once the necessary computing power will exceed their limits, the big.LITTLE architecture will allow execution switching on the more powerful Cortex-A15 cores in about 20 microseconds.
According to Samsung, the new Exynos 5 Octa mobile processor , which also marks the transition from a 32nm manufacturing process to a 28 nm procces will have a 70% higher energy efficiency than Exynos 5 Dual.
Samsung hasn't confirmed the type of the GPU, but they said that the new processor will provide a computing power twice higher than that of any rival product currently available on the market. It might be accompanied by ARM's Mali-T658 GPU.

Razer Edge the new gaming tablet with Windows 8

A year ago, at CES 2012, Razer has introduced a gaming tablet with Windows called Project Fiona. After a year and a series of changes, the tablet from Razer has been presented and will be marketed under the name Edge.
The Razer Edge tablet runs Windows 8 and is based on an Intel Core i5 or i7 processor and NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M dedicated graphics, the display has a diagonal of 10.1 "and a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. Because it is a product for gaming, Razer has chosen a faster TN panel, instead of an IPS panel with better performances in terms of quality.

The features list also includes a USB 2.0 port, a Bluetooth adapter and a Wi-Fi interface, all housed in a case with a thickness of 20 millimeters and a weight of 900 grams.

According to the company, the standard version of the tablet will cost $999, while a Pro-performance model will be more expensive by about 300-400 dollars. the docking station will cost $50 and the keyboard $100. The price of the two additional gamepads is unknown.

Qualcomm has announced the new Snapdragon line

Qualcomm has presented today at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, the new generation of mobile processors, Snapdragon Snapdragon 800 and 600.
Snapdragon 800 is based on the quad-core Krait 400, clocked at 2.3GHz and the Adreno 330 GPU, which is, according to the statements from Qualcomm, 50% faster than Adreno 320.
The power of Snapdragon 800 allows it to run content in Ultra HD resolution (4k - 30 fps).
Overall 800 Snapdragon will offer a 75% higher performance than the S4 Pro generation.
The 800 series will be found not just on top smartphones and tablets, but also on the new generation of Smart TVs and digital multimedia devices, according to official Qualcomm announcement.
