DECEMBER 18TH - DECEMBER 25TH
What is bakudeku winter week?
Well, it’ll be a 7 day (1 week) posting period for bakudeku content! Every day is themed so anything from artwork to animation to fanfiction to music making, whatever you want! As long as it’s bakudeku (and following the theme!) of course.
Is this limited to tumblr?
Absolutely not! You’re free to post on other platforms, just make sure to tag your works with #bkdkwinterweek or #bkdkww on tumblr for reblogging OR submit, message me or link the posts for content on other sites so I can add them to the Winter Week masterlist!
Are there any sign ups or guidelines?
There are no sign ups, so you’re free to post/enter at your leisure, or skip days you don’t feel like working on! The only rule I have for this week is NO NSFW ENTRIES. Any NSFW entries will be ignored.
Do I have to do both entries for each day?
Nope! They’re there for variation or a 2nd option for people. You’re free to do one, both, mix them together or just skip the day!
**Please remember that between Now, October 3rd, and December 17th is the creation period! December 18th to the 25th is when you’ll post your works.

Bakugou’s had a bad day. Midoriya’s busy with training or internships or helping the third-year support department with analyzing quirks and blueprints. He’s good with that stuff.

But he left his phone.

The lock screen — what a fucking loser — is Midoriya holding the camera as Bakugou stands at his side in their second year. Behind them is a wreckage with Hawks wrestling with Endeavor in the back, not noticing that the two interns of Hawks are taking an inappropriate post-battle selfie. Bakugou’s face is covered in dust — Midoriya’s right cheek is bleeding. Bakugou has his hand in a peace sign.

Bakugou unlocks the screen — he’s never been one for sentimental shit.

The home screen is even fucking worse. The picture is Bakugou and Todoroki sleeping on one another after a particularly difficult camping trip on the bus back home. Bakugou’s head rests on Todoroki’s warm side — mouth slightly agape but there’s no visible drool on either of them — and Todoroki’s head rests firmly atop Bakugou’s. The camera is shaky, like Midoriya was laughing, and a scarred hand makes a peace sign in front of the camera’s lens.

Bakugou’s face does not fucking burn, mind your business, but he does make haste and goes for Midoriya’s gallery.

He doesn’t take a look at the numbers — just fucking goes for one video. Scrolls down a little, presses the thumbnail that looks the most interesting and goes for the playback.

“Wait, wait, oh my god, wait, let me count down, holy shit,” That’s Kaminari’s voice, as he shakily holds the camera, wheezing for dear fucking life. “three, two — oh my god, go, do it, explain, please, explain it again.”

Midoriya’s shaking as he’s trying to contain his laughter. He’s in a beige cardigan that Bakugou recognizes, wearing an Ingenium t-shirt and some high-waisted jeans. He’s sitting atop the counter in the dorm’s kitchen. “Listen, ah I just — don’t laugh at me! I’m just trying to think of ways to m-make Kacchan laugh — he’s been in a real sour mood lately, y’know? And I just — I care about him, and so y’know.. I was thinking about giving him flowers but making him laugh with my All Might impression.”

“Okay, okay, so Kacchan has a thing for All Might giving him flowers? Is that what I’m hearing, ‘cus — ‘cus —”

“Oh my god, no! That’s not what I’m saying at all!”

“That’s what you’re saying! That’s totally what you’re saying! I’m telling Kacchan you said that!”

“No, you’re not! Kaminari! Kaminari, c’mere! I just wanna talk!”

Bakugou really hates how he’s smiling, so he scrolls through a few more, and clicks on another at random. The thumbnail’s him.

“…deku, why do you got your phone?” The screen flickers from too-dark-to-see, and just barely bright enough, but Bakugou remembers it just barely. It was like, three AM, and Bakugou was tired as fuck. He just went to Midoriya’s room and slept there.

“You look so cute right now, Kacchan.”

“I look cute all the time, tho.”

“Yeah, but I wanna treasure this. Immortalize it forever.”

“…don’t wanna think ‘bout none of that shit. Goodnight.”

“Goodnight, Kacchan.”

That was cheesy as fuck. Bakugou’s not into it. Next one.

“Sync clap!” That’s Kaminari, clapping his hands together not even a moment later. The camera shakes with laughter — Bakugou can hear that it’s Kirishima who’s laughing as Kaminari continues. “I can make your hands clap… da, da, da, da, DA.”

“Welcome to Midoriya Unsolved —”

“That’s not what we’re calling it,” Mina says, whisper-shouting.

“Midoriya’s on top of the cabinets in the kitchen. We don’t know why he’s on there, but he is. Someone said that Bakugou said if he found Midoriya he’d kill him, and…and, he didn’t,” Todoroki says, smoothly. “To be fair, we didn’t, either. Tokoyami did. How Tokoyami found Midoriya at all isn’t something I’d like to fathom.”

They walk into the kitchen — and sure fucking enough, Midoriya’s sleeping on the cabinet.

“Midoriya, get down!”

Midoriya cracks an eye open, rubs it, and rolls around. Kaminari wheezes until he cries.

“I paid — my mom…she paid…money. For this. Goodnight.”

“For you to sleep on the cabinet?” Todoroki asks.

“Yeah. Let me rest.”

Bakugou moves to the next video and he, for sure, does not have a smile on his face.

This one’s short. Bakugou’s in it, sitting across Kaminari and, oh — he remembers this.

“I have an itch,” Bakugou tells Kaminari, eyes glossy, words a little slurred.

“Didja say something, Kacchan?” Midoriya calls out.

“I said you’re a bitch!” Midoriya makes an offended chirp sound. Bakugou laughs hysterically into his hands.

Bakugou exits out of the sideways scrolling menu and goes down real far. Picks one at random, again.

Bakugou and Midoriya are arguing — their voices are indistinct, climbing over one another in volume, constantly interrupting each other. Midoriya’s wrist is in a brace, and his face is covered in scabs; Bakugou’s not looking much better, he’s red in the face, neck visibly straining with veins popping out.

Midoriya drops to his knees — Bakugou lets out an undignified startled yelp, Kaminari spits up before he exits the screen. Sero yells something.

Midoriya wraps both arms around Bakugou’s knees before his legs join around Bakugou’s ankle, and Midoriya presses his face into Bakugou’s outer thigh.

“I’m not gonna let go until you forgive me, Kacchan!”

“Oh my god, fucking die! You’re so fucking weird!”

Bakugou attempts to swing Midoriya off of him, but true to his word, he stays on. Midoriya begins to glow.

“Do not use your fucking quirk on me! I will fucking — I will sue you, I’ll see you in a court of law if you break my leg, shitfuck!”

“Come to the National Diet Building at 3 AM for an ass kicking!” Sero shouts. Ashido howls.

Midoriya wails. Bakugou screams a little louder until his voice breaks.

Bakugou turns Midoriya’s phone off. He feels a little sleepier — a little lighter. At that moment, Midoriya walks in, looking slightly ruffled.

“Am I too late for the video screening, Kacchan?” A pause. “You look happier.”

“Huh? No, you’re not — actually… What-fucking-ever. C’mere.”

“Ah-ha, sending some mixed signals there, Kacchan,” Midoriya says, kicking off his shoes, and slots into the space that Bakugou’s back leaves perfectly. Two arms wrap around Bakugou’s waist, and a chin slots itself on Bakugou’s collarbone. “Hi.”

“Hey,” Bakugou says, matching Midoriya’s tone. “What do you wanna watch?”

“Mm, you choose.”

“Fuckin’ lazy ass, fine,” Bakugou says, snuggling into the crook of Midoriya’s body where he fits nicely and turns his phone back on. Midoriya makes a softly content noise from the back of his throat — Bakugou pretends that the noise doesn’t make him happy as hell.

i get so frustrated when people say that bakugo and deku could never be friends. bro, they already are. in 284, we not only see that deku and bakugo regularly train together (in a lighthearted way, might i add, playing “catch a kacchan” with blackwhip), we also see bakugo silently admit that he is, in fact trying to apologize/atone. all might also states that they will all have a conversation about this some day in the future…. ill be mfin waiting…..
