CanWest has brought a lawsuit against Mordecai Briemberg, saying he was involved in the production of a spoof of the Vancouver Sun last summer.
Mordecai Briemberg is a activist well-known for his work for the rights of Palestinians and his criticism of the actions of the Israeli army and government.
At a forum on May 14, over 200 people heard five speakers talk about this lawsuit and the issues it raises: Mordecai; his lawyer Leo McGrady; support committee member Brian Campbell; writer Murray Dobbin and Martha Roth of Jews for a Just Peace.

It's a show about Healthcare - we'll hear Corky, Shirley Douglas and Tommy Douglas.

We're playing the speech Corky gave in the house on May 1st on Bill 21 and proposed amendments to the Healthcare Act that would see a sixth principle of sustainability added. Apparently no debate is taking place in the legislature on this legislation. The BC Health Coalition has information on their website bchealthcoalition.com.

We've also got a fabulous speech that Shirley Douglas , spokesperson for the Canadian Health Coalition gave in at a conference in 1998.

And we end the show with a 5 minute speech from Tommy Douglas saying that "unless thos of us who believe in Medicare raise our voices in on uncertain terms, unless we arouse our neighbours and our friends and our communities, we are sounding the death knell of Medicare in this country!"
