Details are fuzzy now, but one thing I do remember.

Memories are strengthened when paired with strong emotion.

Remembering where you left your car keys or the last time you ate can be difficult. But just about everybody remembers emotionally-charged events such as the first time they hit a home run, their first kiss, and the birth of their children.

So?

Well, for me, that is reason enough to want to pull some sort of emotion out of your prospects when presenting your offers. You want to be remembered. Use emotion to your advantage to achieve that. No one will act on your offer if they can't remember it.

How do you inject emotion into your ad copy? Here is an article from copyblogger on why emotional benefits are the key to reader response. You put out wanted information that is easily indexed by search engines and designed to entice eager readers to click your link and go to your web site. Publishing articles online not only brand you as an expert, but also cast a wide net for you to capture potential customers and funnel them to your web site.

What do visitors find when they get to your web site? Does your web site convert traffic into sales?

Private label content articles are extremely helpful with making your writing task easier, but I haven't found private label content for commercial web site design. I don't know what your web site is about, but I have a sneaking suspicion that you have a product or two for sale. Many products designed for online sales include some sort of sales page, but those pages are often not suitable for a stand-alone web site.

If you don't have one now, eventually you will need a commercial web site for all of your products and services. What do you write to make people click the Buy Now! button?

Once again I am going to send you to CopyBlogger. What caught my eye was that the WordPress TOS specifically forbids using

…content designed to drive traffic to third party sites or boost the search
engine rankings of third party sites.

Now, what do I care? Blogger must have a similar policy, and I haven't gotten around to moving this blog to my domain. I'm probably not in danger of having this blog deleted since I try very hard not to blatantly plug my article membership site in every post. Heck, I rarely post as it is! But I have the option of moving the blog.

Question: Do you have your own domain? If not, you probably should. The cost of domain registration and web hosting will not break your budget, and it is definitely worth the freedom to post whatever you want or need to say.

Eva J. It looks like a way to get your link into several other blogs. Kinda like a chain letter of sorts. I have no idea what all the blogs on the list are about. Not even sure I really want to be associated with any of them (except for Chilly's, of course). But I'm so excited that someone thought of this blog despite the fact that I neglect it so much, I'm game to play along!

Haven't decided if I will tag anyone yet. If you want to participate, follow the directions:

*Start Copy Here*

You don’t have to be tagged to play along. This game is simple and so are the rules.
1. Copy from *Start Copy Here* through *End Copy Here*
2. Add your site(s) to the list. Just be sure to post at each site you add.
3. Tag or don’t tag, your choice, however, the more tags you create the bigger the list will grow.
4. Let me know your blog’s name and url by leaving me a comment HERE. I will add you to the master list.
5. Come back and copy the master list back to your site, often. This process will allow late-comers to get as much link benefit as the first ones in.

1-Attitude, the Ultimate Power The blog is set up on a subdomain of one of my personal domains, and I have not shared that URL with anyone yet. I want to get all the widgets and sidebars set up first before promoting the blog.

So, last week I finally put an introductory post on said blog. Two days later, I notice a comment on the post. Mind you, I had NOT told a soul about this new blog. The comment is a linkback to another blog. That blog is full of posts that link to outside blogs. There is no original writing on that blog. All it contains are snippets of other people's blog entries with links to those blogs.

Alright, so maybe all the outside links in that blog, and the associated linkbacks created, is a great strategy for increasing that blog's PR and for getting the search engine spiders to visit that blog frequently. Fresh content is, technically, being added on a regular basis. But, dammit, to me, the whole point of a blog is to express yourself. Sure, I do sometimes share what I find in other places on my blogs, but I always have a reason for doing so, and I say what the reason is. There is a part of me in every post I make. I don't post as often as I would like, but I am not going to stoop to using some automated process simply for the sake of making a post.

I deleted the comment on my blog.

Rant over. Now, back to our regularly scheduled program ...

Eva J. Awhile back, I got such a content site made for me. It had all the bells and whistles that you could ever imagine. It came ready-made for three different types of ads for monetization. It was specifically designed with SEO in mind. It even came with starter articles in the niche of my choice. How could it miss? I was gonna rake in the bucks with that site.

The layout was nice. The graphics were professional. The SEO job was phenomenal as I did NADA to generate traffic, yet the site got plenty of hits. There were some things that I did not like about the site, though. First, I had to get over my panic when I was told to edit the config.sys file so that the ads would come from my own personal accounts with the included systems. Second, it wasn't immediately obvious how to add new articles to the site. Third, the article content and the article titles were displayed at random, but independent of each other. You could call up the url and find on the site an article title that did not match the article underneath it. I guess what really drove me nuts was the fact that I had no control over the site, short of taking a crash course in programming.

Hope this rant gives you some food for thought if you are in the market for site templates. Oh, want some stats on that site of mine? It has received over 2500 impressions since it went live several months ago. 23 ads were clicked for a grand total of $7.23 USD. Mind you, that site has never been updated. The bulk of those impressions were received in the first several weeks after the site went live. Imagine how that site could have done if I had just updated it a few times to bring back the search engine spiders and got the site re-indexed. He said that white text on a web site with a white background page color raises a flag with search engines because of the potential for "hidden text." That I understand. What surprised me is that even if that white text is in a table that has a dark background, it will STILL raise a flag! I have so much to learn.

Just something to keep in mind when you are designing web pages for your articles.

Here is the tip text in full:

Are you aware of the penalties for using hidden text? This out dated technique is Spam. Never try to add keywords or text to a page, in the same color font as the exact background color, thus making text appear hidden.

Spam Alert: Don't EVER use hidden text, hidden links or hidden "anything" on a page unless you want to risk setting off some warning flags and risk getting in trouble.

Special Tip: Be sure to use care with text color inside of a table too.
Example: If your background is a white page and you are using a table filled with dark Navy Blue (for example.) Be careful not to use a white colored font text. Although the text is not hidden, you could still accidentally set off some flags by using a white text with a white background (regardless of the fact that the table is blue.)

Get SEO Tip of the Day in your mailbox

Eva J. Fantastic. The addition of new content attracts search engine spiders and gets your site indexed. Web content, however, must be unique for the best results. Verbatim text content should not appear on more than one website, even if owned by the same webmaster.

Since access to private label articles is limited to a select few, the chances of those articles appearing on multiple sites are slim, but not nil. We strongly encourage our members to edit or rewrite private label articles to reflect their own voice. That way, two people who choose to use the same article will not have identical content on their sites.

How do you find out if someone else has the same text copy on their site? Copyscape.com provides services for webmasters to detect online plagiarism and content theft. They have paid services, but you can check for identical web content for free. All you need to do is set up a test page on your personal domain, upload the article that you want to use, then submit the URL of your test page to Copyscape. You will get back a report of which, if any, websites contain text passages that are identical to text found on your test page.

If you use private label articles, or worry about your original content being plagiarized, you need a service like Copyscape. Lost and Found

Well, once again, I started a project and got lost in the details. Still haven't submitted an article anywhere yet, but I do have some things that I would like to share with everyone.

First, I'm trying to find a niche that I will be happy with, that I actually know something about, and that will make some money. I found some really great threads in Warrior Forum that gave some great ideas on how to pick such a niche. You don't even have to register to read them. Just go to the page and do a search on "niche market."

Second, I'm trying to figure out how to best represent myself as an "expert" in said niche. I found a niche business article yesterday that is an interesting read. I get articles like this from a free daily newsletter that is a quick, fun read and doesn't clog your mailbox with useless SPAM. The articles vary in topic, but concentrate on computer/internet-related issues. For example, there was a good internet marketing article just last week.

I promise to do better with updates.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://cachearticles.blogspot.com/2007/01/oh-boy-lost-and-found.html' title='Oh boy... People may search the directory and choose articles to publish on their website, in their blog, in their newsletter, e-zine, whatever. Unlike private label articles, however, the articles from these directories MUST include the author's name and bio when published. When the author includes a url in their bio, each publication creates a link back, along with a new source of traffic.

How do private label content articles fit into this? Private label articles act as a seed for your writing. You take a private label article, modify it to make it your own, and you submit the now original composition under your name with your bio and your url. By submitting articles to these directories, you are branding yourself as an expert on the topic of your article, and creating link backs and traffic to your website.

I just joined Rhino Articles, an article directory recently launched by Joseph Brochin. Very recently launched like within the last couple of months. Already, that directory has over 33,000 article contributions from almost 2000 authors, some with very recognizable names.

I chose to start with Rhino Articles because it is free to join and use. The articles that I have read there so far are quality, well-written compositions. We also know the owner and have nothing but good things to say about him. He is honest and upfront in all of our business dealings, and he's just an overall nice guy. A family man and an active US Marine, Joe has our respect and undying gratitude.

So, I gotta figure out what to include in my bio, which topic I want to write about, the rules and regulations of submitting articles to Rhino Articles, and which article I want to tweak and modify from the Cache Articles online searchable archive of private label information content.

I'll be back.

Eva J. The topics covered in that package were definitely things that I wanted to learn. Now, for a little more money, I could get the source files and rebrand the products as my own before selling them. Sounds great, right? But since going that route required more cash than I could really afford at the moment, I took a minute to think about it. Could I really, truly, honestly, pass myself off as an expert in, say, SEO? That's what I would be trying to do if I rebranded the SEO information with my name. What if someone came back and asked me a simple question that I couldn't answer? I would risk being exposed as a fraud. Not only does my "expert" status go out the window, but so does my credibility, reputation, and good name.

My decision that day, and my advice to you, is stick to what you know when you brand yourself an "expert." Your credibility is much more valuable than having expert status.

Eva J.
