Over 14 minutes of story animation and narration and study notes, …during which the kids can “boo along” by means of a button whenever Haman’s name is mentioned (an old Jewish tradition). Our Esther unit includes a fun 2 minute video depicting how modern Jews celebrate Purim in a U.S. synagogue. This unit also includes an Esther Quiz that explores the meaning of the story, and a fun “Haman vs Mordecai” game with extra study questions tucked into it.

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

On Sunday, April 4, we will begin our next rotation. This month, our lesson set will be on “Esther”. Please read this story with your child, which can be found in the book of Esther in the Old Testament. The memory verse this month is, “And who knows but that you have come to royal position for such a time as this?” ~Esther 4:14b

The objectives for this rotation are as follows:
• Retell the story of Esther in their own words
• Understand that both Vashti and Esther are heroes — not because they were beautiful, but because they did what was right.
• Understand that “doing what is right” is risky, but know that we can ask God and others for courage and help.
• Understand that no ethnic or racial group deserves poor treatment.

Please don’t forget to review the children’s ministry web site (www.cadescovefellowship.org/children) to see what your child will be learning each week of the rotation.

Please do not forget that we will be holding a fundraiser car wash on Satruday, April 18 from 10am-2pm at Advanced Auto Parts in West Knoxville (corner of Northshore and Ebenezer). I am asking all parents to please participate. All donations received will go to the Children and Youth ministries.

Please also continue to help your child to remember the memory verse each month.

I also want to point out that our Children’s “Rotation” classes will now be held during our 10:45 worship service. I am very excited about this “community transition” because it will allow us to reach so many more children who are unable to come to the 9:30 service.

Thank you for all your support!

In Christ,

Sarah Myers

Dear Parents and Caregivers,
On Sunday, March 8, we will begin our next rotation. This month, our lesson set will be on “Jacob and Esau”. Please read this story with your child, which can be found in Genesis 25, 27, 29, 31, 32, and 33. The memory verse is, “Then Jacob woke from his sleep and said, “Surely the Lord is in this place — and I did not know it!” ~ Genesis 28:16.

The objectives for this rotation are as follows:
- Find the stories of Jacob in Genesis, in the Old Testament.
- Identify the following characters and place them correctly in the story: Isaac, Rebekah, Esau, Jacob, Laban, Rachel, Leah.
- Discover God’s plan at work in the lives of these characters, despite their imperfections.
- Understand that a loving, forgiving God is at work in their lives.
- Realize that we need patience, persistence, and courage to wait for God’s timing.

Also, I’m happy to announce that the children’s ministry will be holding a fundraiser car wash on Satruday, April 18 from 9am-2pm at Advanced Auto Parts on Northshore in West Knoxville. I am asking all parents to please participate. All donations received will go to the children’s ministry, particularly to our VBS this summer (June 15-19).

Please continue to help your child to remember the memory verse each month.

Thank you for all your support!

In Christ,

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

We are beginning our second Bible Discovery Zone rotation, and I am continuously blessed to see the excitement in our children’s eyes. Not only are they enjoying the rotation classrooms, but they are also learning their memory verses and have retained many key points related to our lesson (Creation).

Our next rotation will be on “Adam and Eve”. Beginning Sunday, February 1, your children will be learning the following concepts (list not all inclusive):

* Creation of first man and woman
* Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil vs. Tree of Life
* Temptation
* Sin and guilt
* God’s grace
* Memory verse: “I will seek You with all my heart; do not let me stray from Your commands.” ~ Psalm 119:10

Please work with your child in learning the memory verse. We will practice the memory verse on Sunday mornings, but for them to truly memorize the verse, they need your help at home during the week.

I also encourage you to read the story of Adam and Eve to your child, which can be found in Genesis 2:4-3:24.

Thank you again for your support and encouragement during this exciting time in the Children’s Ministry at Cades Cove Fellowship!

In Christ,

Sarah Myers
