However when an event like the death of arguably the most famous person alive occurs, I felt I had to write about it. The news didn’t really overshadow any of the rest of the festival, but for that Thursday night after a drunk and joyful day I couldn’t contain my thoughts and feelings about it and ranted on for hours to my poor, poor friends.

I considered writing a sentence or two in the last panel, to try and sum up how Michael Jackson was the coolest person in the world to any kid when I was young, how the Bad album on vinyl was one of my most treasured possessions or how I can’t remember liking any musical artist or band before him. But it all felt pithy in a way, there’s nothing I could say that would be any kind of epitaph for the man, for his limitless talent and his troubled life. So I hoped that a simple picture of me doing my MJ dance moves would say at least something, and might even raise a smile in memory.

Kate Beaton linked to a comic by Sally Bloodbath that embellishes a similar memory and I really, really enjoyed it. She is perhaps a couple of years younger than me so it is the Dangerous album that meant as much to her as Bad did to me, and as Thriller did to the kids older than me.

And if any other comic artist have drawn themselves busting out a moonwalk I’d like to see it.

Colour? In The Everyday? What’s the big idea, Cadwell? The big idea is that I’m going to make a nifty little mini-comic of Glastonbury themed Everydays in full colour (in the Collections they’ll remain black and white). There’s a good few more on the way so if the very thought of The Everyday in colour sickens you to your very core, then please look away for about 2 weeks. I’m just trying this out for now, I might recolour it once the other strips are drawn, I might abandon the idea completely and replace it with the black and white version like it never existed. Who knows? But for now, for you regular readers, here in the here and now, along for the ride, livin’ the dream, Glastonbury Everydays are in full-on colour.

Please let me know what you think, unless you can’t think anymore because I blew your mind.

Also, this marks the first appearance of my little sister. Hello tiny drawing of Jolene!

Also also, the couple in the last panel are the Adam and Freya mentioned earlier, and yes, I have a cow patterned pop-up tent.

I’ve recently come across Sorry Comics by a guy called John. His comics are startlingly honest, well observed stories of very personal experiences and thoughts, which is perhaps why he keeps his surname to himself. I’ve seen many confessional comics that seem more like a cry for attention but John’s comics don’t have that subtext, they’re certainly cathartic for him but don’t demand the reader feel sorry for him, in fact many of the thoughts he shares are the kind of typical, and perhaps shallow, male reactions most of us try to hide. The art is clear, the blue tones work nicely and he brings a deceptively smart variety to the six panel grid he’s given himself. It won’t be to everyone’s tastes, this close a look at a stranger’s personal life can be offputting for some, but for those interested in the approaches towards autobiography it’s well worth a look.

You might recall me mentioning Marc Ellerby’s Ellerbisms comic before, and you might even tire of me linking to it every time I appear, but this time is different.

After I spouted such a glaring contradiction, I could tell both myself and Marc were thinking of doing a comic of it, so I suggested a cross over of some kind. Marc suggested I draw myself in an Ellerbism and he ink it and I did and the results are here.

I find it very, very odd seeing a drawing I’ve done of myself inked by someone else but I think Marc’s done a great job considering that my pencils are normally a smudgy mess.

I made this Flickr photoset the other day of the trip to Stockholm for the SSPX show and plum forgot to post it here. So here it is. 140 carefully selected photos (and 3 Everydays) with an almost photo by photo commentary of our scandalous behaviour as well. Here’s my favourite:

Hi, this is just a note to inform you that The Everyday Collection Three is currently out of stock in the Store. While it’s a good thing that I shifted the entire print run in just over 2 months, it’s also bad news because I can’t fill online orders or offer the ‘All 3 for £10 Deal’ for a while.

I’ll be getting a second print run done in, hopefully, early July. I would love to get it done earlier but I have wasted all my lucrative comic profit on literally bottles of Dr. Pepper, plus I have Glastonbury to scrape through penniless and rent to pay next month. It would seem the worst that could happen is this.

Also, I’ve had to raise postage cost from £1 to an extortionate £1.50 because the Royal Mail has lost its mind.
