Has anyone seen the new yankee candle scents??

One is BACON

And they aren't joking.

It is a new man scent.

Their large jar candles burn over 110 hours.

That is a lot of bacon scent.

Does tragedy override respect?

They've been interviewing tornado survivors and playing them ad nauseum on tv. One that they seem to love replaying is a teacher who very defiantly looks into the camera to say she "did something teachers aren't supposed to do" (that's her choice of words) - she prayed out loud (to Jesus, of course) while huddled over students in the bathroom.

Then there's this little gem from Wolf Blitzer:

http://deadspin.com/wolf-blitzer-asks-atheist-tornado-survivor-if-she-than-509150402

Is there some unspoken rule that anyone who isn't a Christian should shut up and pretend they are in the aftermath of a tragedy?

Did you pick a name for your child that at the time was somewhat original or different..

but is now popular or becoming more well known? Or did you pick names that you liked, w/out caring about whether they were super popular or not?

When picking out names for my kiddos, I tried to pick ones that weren't as popular at the time, but weren't totally off the wall either.... Now they all seem to be more popular or becoming more used...

Audrey- was a bit old fashioned nearly 15 yrs ago, but I've heard it a lot more these days...
Shane- Shawn was a lot more popular nearly 9 yrs ago, when we named our ds, & we liked it, but didn't want him to be in class w/ 5 other kids w/ the same name, so we chose Shane, not realizing that it was becoming pretty popular at the time, now I hear it used a lot
Collin- didn't seem to be used a lot nearly 5 yrs ago, but I hear it quite a bit now
Peyton- seemed different as a girl's name nearly 3 yrs ago, but am also seeming to hear it more often now

Not to say, that any of them are super popular names these days, but it just seems like they are used more... maybe it's just that I didn't pay as much attention until after I'd used those names for my kids....

I was just watching TV and they spent about half an hour talking about and to people who either did heroic things in the tornado, or people who met up with their kids and neighbors right after the storm. It was so much more positive than showing the devastation over and over.
Hi so do you ever get depressed

Well Im happy but I think just stressed which is making me depressed.
It's bad, I'm bad
Its because the love of my life broke up with me.
I was very sad and confused but moved on a little.
then this amazing man came into my life and we are stoked on each other
but its almost like I did not have enough time to heal.
But at the same time, I could not pass this guy up he was so good, and so right for me.
So today I had a quarter life crisis. I've had no internet for weeks, I've been looking for more work, while also trying to get pregers. Why? Dont even ask, it's all so weird but this is what the universe is telling me to do, its telling me its all going to be alright. Because I know he is the one for me and we have only been dating one and a half months and we already want to get married and have kids. So we are also moving out together to a smaller one bedroom instead of our two apartments. We are going to save one thousand a month and save for our family and all of that. So I am stressed about finding a place, and finding more work because although I'm a teacher, I could always use more of an income, because sadly its not enough money. Fuck the state for that. Vent sorry. So I'm stresssed right. On top of all of that, he is gone every week. He goes to Bakersfield for work and who cares that I miss him, the more important thing is that I just want his help to move this little life of ours along. He's so optimistic, I love it, but here I am stressing and feeling bogged down in this tough life. He makes way more money than me and I dont like it. In my last relationship I made more than him, so I am not used to it I guess. I like being sugar mama but I am not that anymore.
So any comments on this, my friends have said be grateful for what I have, including my job, but its hard for me, because with all the qualifications, I'm just still not making enough, not making what I deserve. Please support if you have any words of wisdom or advice. I am 24 years old and feeling bogged down by life. I am also not pregnant at the moment but am depressed because I have the the tendency to drink, so I'm scared. I am practicing not drinking, only one glass of wine a couple nights a week is what I drink I am not going to let it stop me from my family. So advice please, tell me what it was like when you were 24 thanks
oh ps I also called my ex husband today, which was very random.
I just wanted to see if he was still alive. Ok thanks

Why are there very often no basements or cellars in the South?

In the North, we rarely is a house built on a slab. Mostly I believe because, homes built on a slab would have to be heated all through Winter or the foundation would crack. So if you were to leave for a few days, week etc, you would still need to heat your home.

Is there a reason to build on slabs in the South? Is it because of cost, or is there another issue that I am unaware for not building a cellar?

http://www.heavy.com/news/2013/05/westboro-baptist-church-tweet-moore-oklahoma-tornado/

they tweeted this:

Amazing work of God! He promised this gift for a rebel nation! Jeremiah 23:19.

RT @CNNVideo: See #tornado #Oklahoma http://on.cnn.com/14ptoRX

and this:

Oklahoma is getting its butt kicked again in a very powerful fashion! A mile-wide tornado! #ThankGod! #GiveHimGlory! pic.twitter.com/3F4OvMwrov

absolutely disgusting. why couldnt a tornado wipe out these assholes? i guess to make this a question, if you hated this country so much to the point that you'd thank your higher power for causing a natural disaster that killed innocent children, would you LIVE here? if they hate us so much- they are free to get the fuck out!

Zumba Rush on x-box success stories????

I've been on a Zumba Rush & slim fast 321 kick for a few wks now, trying to slim down & tone up a bit for the summer... Ever since I downloaded the update for the Zumba Rush though, it's been saying I'm burning between 1100 & 1544 cals. per workout, when before it would say between 170-550. I googled it & a couple sites said that based on my body weight, the amount of time I do Zumba (aprox 60 mins) & the intensity, (high) that as long as I'm keeping up w/ it the whole time, that I should be burning around 450- 540 cals per work out. Trying to figure out why my cal. counter is off now that I updated it, & wondering if anyone has had success w/ losing weight/ toning, using Zumba & if so, how much you lost, & how long it took to take it off.....

Also any success w/ Slim fast 3.2.1???

Nobody really excited about 3rd baby - have you experienced this?

We are - much to OUR delight - expecting our3rd child. We have a 5 year old and a 2 year old - and with each of their pregnancy announcements we had people hugging us, super excited, asking us a million questions, etc....

well, I know you can't really expect the same level of excitement the 3rd time round but this is ridiculous!
We've had texts saying "congrats", and a few FB friends saying congrats and good luck - which is fine - but I was expecting a bit more from our families!
We announced the news 2 weeks ago - and they were just so un-enthused! They have said congratulations, but no more has been said! Nobody even asked my specific due date!

Can we expect people to bother to come see our new baby when she/he is born??

How differently did people react to your 3rd/4th etc pregnancies and births than they did the 1st/2nd?

If you're in the navy....Questions!!!

First of all, I'm 32, married and have two young children (11 months and 5 yrs old). I have navy vets in the family. I have a BA but am considering going back to school for perhaps nursing. I wont say I have "wasted" 10 years of my life, but I lost so much opportunity to do things while still young. Is it too late? Could I join the navy and study nursing? Or with my situation (two young children and a husband)....is it not worth it?

Were there storm shelters at those Elementary Schools?

Watching the devastation is breaking my heart. The Children being reunited with their families. My question is if this has already happened before in 1999 then were there storm shelters in place for these children & Teachers? Why would they not have put them in place? Ones placed in the ground I mean? Like a Mandatory building code for schools in Tornado prone areas or retrofitting since 1999??
