I have a friend who is a SAHM who doesn't work outside the home at all...not even part time and yet she still hires someone to clean her house on a weekly basis. I understand how taking care of a child takes alot of time (I have two myself), but, my friend drops her child off at day care twice a week too. So two times a week, she has a chance to do all the cleaning (and anything else that needs to get done) herself and chooses not to. I don't understand how someone can make the decision to become a homemaker and not fulfill ALL the responsibilities that comes with that job title. Can someone please explain?

My Sister just found out she's expecting. We were going through a baby name book and got on the subject of horrible names and spellings. What are some names you just hate to hear. I have a lot but will only list a couple.

At what point should a woman no longer have the option?

I was reading a question in the Relationships section where a woman has gone back to an extremely physically abusive husband. The police document these occurances, and women's shelters give resources to battered women...but neither will stop a woman from going back to a man that they know might kill her. Should there be a law stipulating that after a man has a history of beating on a woman, that she is forbidden from going back? And what about a woman with kids...Is it already a law that children can be taken from someone who stays with a man who beats her in front of the kids?

Conservatives knew he would make this country weaker, didn't they?

Obama agrees to lessen the amount of nuclear weapons we have and their delivery systems in Moscow today with Medvedev. What comes next? The military is already reducing numbers and curtailing advancements, encouraging retirement of it's longer tenured servicemen and women.

I ran out of nursery water and I can't walk and I'm alone,is it ok to use tap water? She uses powder formula so there's no need to heat

I don't have any friends (or friends with kids) where I live, so my daughter doesn't get to interact with other children. She's 12 months old and has never been apart from me. I'm beginning to worry that she'll lead an isolated childhood all because of ME.

There's a child care center nearby that has a program for 12-18 months olds. It is 3 hours per day, for 2 days per week. I think it would be good for my daughter, because she'll get to play with other toddlers her age. And I think the short separation will be good for the both of us.

Do you think I'm a bad mom for wanting to put her in daycare? I just want her to be with other kids.

What would you be doing now if you didn't have kids?

how do I teach my 5 year old not to scream and yell at a adult?

My 5 year old got a little brother one month ago. he has 2 little sisters too but getting the litte brother changed it all. All of a sudden he is the king of back talking and yelling and just not listening. He will scream at my husband DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO if my husband tells him to knock something off. He does nto dare to do that with me. I am home with the kids all day so they seem to listen to me way more then him.

He also has a problem listening to me to but he will not yell back at me at least.

My son has ADHD and will give him a spanking for whatever he does wrong and 3 min later he is doing it again

He is about to start school and I have no idea how to get this in controll

it has only lasted for the last one month after his brother was born. Before that he was a perfect child.

Has your family suffered a job loss due to the enconomy?

I know so many people that have lost their jobs. My husband did recieve a good package but they done away with 150 jobs at his employer. ALL factories in my community have took a massive hit. Is anyone else affected by this?

So here is the deal. I have been out of work almost a yr. Since then have 2sit home and do nothing ALL day EVERY day cuz my car broke I live with my boyfriend who works 12+hr days a wk & lately 6 days a wk. I babysit when needed to keep busy. When he gets home from work he is tired and it's late so we do nothing and he wants to play on his computer. So, basically I am still alone. Well, he tells me today that his Dad got 2 tickets to a baseball game and he has to go and I can't. Well, his Dad says I have no say cuz I dnt pay for anything evn tho all the $ I get from sitting goes to my bf to contribute to whatever. Should I be mad? I'm so tired of being alone evn tho we live together...I'm so stressed and upset

I was driving to the July 4th fireworks and there was limited parking,. Then some a-hole steals a spot I was going to take and I go , "Fuck you". Ofcourse my 3 year old repeat it with the same emotions. I ignored it thinking she will forget it

Would you put your severely disabled child in a personal care home?

I have a 4 1/2 yr old with severe brain damage since birth. He is totally dependent on us for absolutely everything. He is like a newborn in the body of a large child, but at least a newborn fusses when they are hungry or wet, TJ doesn't. He is on O2, a monitor & tube feedings + a large number of other serious medical conditions that come along with brain damage. We love him to death & would give our lives for him. However, there have been others who have told us that he should be in a "HOME" to which we respond that he IS in a home, HIS HOME. I believe that as wonderful as some of those places can be, TJ just would not receive the degree of personal care & attention that he does in his own home. Just curious, what would you do?

Monthly doctors visits, how long do yours last?

I get about five minutes with my doctor each month, that's if i'm lucky. Does your doctor stick around longer? Mine listens to the heartbeat, measures my stomach and says see ya in four weeks.

I for one, love that AT&T commercial,where the couple parts,and she goes home,and he travels,and sends her pics from all over the world,and the last one is of her,and she turns and he's there. I think it's so beautiful. I also love the Sonic commercials, especially with the two guys. They are so goofy,and funny to watch. And, around here, we get Suddenlink commercials, for cable service,and they are just so weird and dumb, they are funny. Especially the land swimming,and the painting the fan. If you don't get to see them, you don't know what you are missing.
