8 Cute Summer Sandals You Can Acutally Walk In (PHOTOS)

Post by April Daniels Hussar

Ok ladies. I love flip flops as much as the next girl, but sometimes it's good to give those poor things a rest and step it up (Ha, get it?) in the footwear department just a teensy bit. High heel sandals and towering wedges are oh-so sexy, but, alas, I rarely wear them (only if I'm going somewhere I know I won't have to actually walk!). Luckily there are so, so many ultra cute yet ultra comfortable footwear options for summer that will show off your pedicure without giving you painful blisters or hobbling you for an entire evening.

Madonna's Creepy Tuxedo Outfit Makes Her Look Like a Crazy Circus Ringmaster (PHOTO)

Post by Lindsay Mannering

You gotta give her credit: Madonna still knows how to bring the "wow" factor. At the premiere of her new concert film Madonna: The MDNA Tour, the 54-year-old pop icon dressed in a top hat and tails for the occasion. In a black suit with a white shirt, Madonna was in menswear from head to toe.

There's nothing sexier than a confident woman in a hot suit, but something's off about this outfit. The words "deranged ringmaster" come to mind.

Not sure if it's the plastic surgery combined with the ensemble that makes the whole look seem sort of creepy, but the goosebumps she's creating here are not for the right reasons.

Maybe only those with a fear of the circus feel this way, but I can't help but hear that scary, tinny circus tune when I look at her. If I twist the handle on the side of the box too many times, I'm afraid it'll be her who jumps out. Gah!

There is a silver lining, though. Madonna's wearing a diamond and mesh glove made by Jacob the Jeweler. It's as baller as they come. I'm sure Tito Jackson is pissed he never got to wear a glove so cool.

Other than that, Madge's tuxedo look is ... not that awesome. That said, her outfit probably achieved exactly what she wanted it to -- we're talking about her, aren't we?

You win again, Madonna. You always do.

What do you think of Madonna's outfit?

Sarah Palin's Snakeskin Heels Are Undeniably Hot

Post by Mary Fischer

Whoa! Have you seen these photos of Sarah Palin's sexy snakeskin heels? Mama must have been feeling wild before appearing on Fox News on Monday, because she went all out with these babies.

And before you go picking her apart and giving her a hard time simply because she's Sarah Palin and you can't help yourself -- I want you to take something into consideration.

If this were anyone other than Sarah, would you actually think the shoes were pretty hot?

Don't lie -- you totally would. Because they really are pretty fabulous.

Again, they're snakeskin -- who doesn't love animal prints when it comes to shoes? And the little silver studs on the straps give these heels an extra edge -- not that they really need one.

Speaking of the straps, how fun are they? I'm loving that they go beyond the traditional T-strap look and go up around the ankles as well.

Paired with a fairly conservative looking black skirt and pink blouse -- these shoes really complement Sarah's outfit perfectly and bring a little flair to what could've otherwise been a pretty boring look.

But still, haters gonna hate, and you know people who loathe all things Sarah Palin-related are having a field day tearing her to shreds for wearing these things. (Wonder what they'd say if Michelle Obama turned up in a pair. Hmm.)

Based on her personality, however, I highly doubt she gives a rat's ass what anyone thinks of her shoes.

That being said, should she keeping taking fashion risks and continue wearing funky stuff like this in the future? You betcha.

What do you think of Sarah's heels? (Not Sarah in general. Focus on her shoes.)

Horrifying 'Hairy Leg' Stockings Try to Stop Perverts -- but Who Would Wear Them? (VIDEO)

Post by Sasha Brown-Worsham

A pair of INSANE Chinese stockings designed to guard against unwanted male attention and potential perverts are getting a lot of attention. The stockings are covered with black, curly hair -- the kind of hair you might see on an old, Mediterranean man rather than a young, sprightly female. They are both genius and horror show wrapped into one somewhat disturbing package.

For many women, the thought of having hair anywhere on their bodies is horrifying. I shave every day pretty much no matter what is going on, but even if I skipped a day, my legs wouldn't look like these. We are talking Big Foot here. And you know what? Sick as it is, it just might work.

Warding off gropers just got a lot more fun. See below:

Here are a couple other ideas for anti-grope accessories:

An "Ask Me About My Genital Herpes" t-shirt: This could be a big red t-shirt with yellow lettering announcing to the world that, yes, you have sores on your private parts and, yes, you want to talk about it. Because nothing says "hello pervert" like herpes. Right?
A clear plastic bag full of empty yeast infection cartons: Just casually hang out with your empty applicators and boxes. Announce to the world that, yes, you have yeast and, no, you aren't ashamed.
Armpit toupes: Wear a tank top and display your armpit rug PROUDLY. Yeah, that's you with a thick bush under your arms. You're not ashamed!

OK, in all seriousness, focusing all the attention on the woman and the way she is dressed is a huge part of blaming the victim. A woman should be able to wear a red dress with a slit up her thighs and not be touched by a man she doesn't want.

Even if this did stop men from groping you, it might not stop mean or lewd comments directed at you. It seems unlikely that any self-respecting woman would actually wear these when she can simply grow her own leg hair if she so chooses. But if she did, it would have nothing to do with warding off gropers. It just might be how she chooses to express herself.

Do you think these would work?

5 Things You Should Never Shop for Online

Post by Nicole Fabian-Weber

Few things are better than online shopping. You don't have to drive anywhere. You don't have to brave the crowds. And you can do all of your browsing and purchasing braless and pantless, if you'd like. (Most stores even have free delivery now!) I, personally, would take online shopping over the real thing any day. But still. There are some things that are better left for the IRL version.

Here are 5 things you should never shop for online. (Put some pants on! You can do it!)

1. Swimsuits. Unless your name is Gisele, it's best to head out into the cruel, cruel world to shop for bathing suits. Yes, we all hate swimsuit shopping, what with the fluorescent lights and, um, swimsuits, but you kind of need to physically try on a bathing suit in order to see if it's going to work. You're not going to magically look like the model in the photo just because you purchase it online. Bummer, I know.

2. Jeans. Same with jeans. No one likes shopping for jeans. It sucks. But you need to try them on -- probably more so than swimsuits. There are a million cuts, fits, and materials, and you're saving yourself a trip to the post office or a UPS box if you just do your shopping at an actual store instead of a virtual one.

3. Foundation. Shopping for makeup is fun, and actually, I prefer doing it in person as opposed to online. Sure, I could get lost on Sephora's website for hours on end, but when it comes to something like foundation -- something that needs to match your skin tone exactly -- you're better served testing it out in the store instead of trying to guess.

4. Wedding dresses. At some point or another, we all looked around online for the perfect dress for our big day. But like my mother always said: Things look different once you try them on. You could see something you think you hate, but once you try slip into it, it may be an entirely different story.

5. Sunglasses. Again, you kind of need to try sunglasses (and regular glasses) on in order to see which best suits your face shape. If you happen to know exactly what works with your face, go for it. But I promise, it makes much more sense to try them on in real life. Speaking from experience here.

What do you shop for online?

5 Ways to Look Stunning in Colored Eyeliner

Post by April Daniels Hussar

One of the most fun and flattering beauty trends right now is the liberal use of colored eyeliner. It's everywhere, from celebs on the red carpet to models on the runways, and for good reaason: it's totally flattering! If you're worried you'll end up looking like a 12-year-old who stole Granny's blue eyeshadow, fear not. Here are five very easy, ultra pretty ways to work colored eyeliner.

1. Do a navy, dark violet or forest green cat-eye.

I love a classic liquid liner cat eye in black, but using a dark, colored liner adds a nice twist. A darker color is a good step if you're hesitant to try colored eyeliner -- it's different, and can really compliment your eyes, but it's still subtle.

I love my Almay Intense i-Color Liquid Liner in Purple Amethyst in Purple Amethyst. It's a gorgeous color and quite easy to apply.($7.49 at Drugstore.com)

Another great option is Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner in Forest Green. ($20 at Sephora.com), and the Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner Pen in Navy is really easy to use. ($16 at HSN.com)

2. Match your liner to the color of your eyes (celebs like Jennifer Lawrence do this a lot).

Line just the tops of your lids, the just inside of your lower lids, or both with a shade that matches your eye color, and your eyes will look even more beautiful than usual. Experiment with layering colored liner over a light brown for a more subtle color look. If you just want color on the top, you can leave your lower eyelid bare, or use your usual dark brown, gray or even black liner on the bottom. A nice, neutral taupe or bone colored shadow can also work on your upper lid; so can a pretty copper.

Here are some great eyeliners to try:

Blue eyes: Buxom Hold The Line Eyeliner in "Sparkling Denim Blue" ($17 at Sephora.com)

Gray eyes: Nars 'Larger Than Life' Long Wear Eyeliner in "Madison Avenue" ($24 at nordstrom.com)

Green eyes: Lancome's Artliner in Metallic Forest Green ($30 at LandomeUSA.com)

Hazel eyes: Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Gel CreamLiner in "Glam Hazel Eyes" ($10.95 at DrugStore.com)

Brown eyes: Buxom Hold The Line Eyeliner in "Here's My Number" ($17 at Sephora.com)

3. Make like Kourtney Kardashian in blue eyeliner, and go for a color-enhancing or subtly contrasting color.

Physician's Formula makes a great set called Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Color Trio for blues, greens, hazels and browns. Each set comes with three eyeliner pencils that you can wear alone or blend together, designed to enhance the color of your eyes. They're great fun! ($10.95 for the set at physiciansformula.com)

Or try one of these individual liners:

For browns and greens, try purple: Anne Hathaway wore Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Orchid to the last Met Ball. ($24 at LauraMercier.com)

For hazel, try this gorgeous, gold-flecked teal: Almay's I-Color Defining Eyeliner in Teal Hazel. ($7.99 at Ulta.com)

For blues, copper looks stunning: Tarte SmolderEYES Amazonian Clay Waterproof Liner. ($22 at at Sephora.com)

4. Go bright and bold!

Such a pretty, fun look to do a bold swipe of a bright colored liner, either just along your top lid, or underneath as well.

Makeup Forever Aqua Eyes is a truly excellent, long-lasting liner. The turquoise is a beautiful, bright color that will look great in a thick line on your upper lid (alone or on top of shadow). $18 at Sephora

5. Pair your colored eyeliner with a colored mascara for a little extra oomph.

Try: BeneFit BadGal Plum Mascara ($19 at BenefitCosmetics.com) or 'Diorshow' Iconic Mascara in navy ($28 at Nordstrom.com)

Do you wear colored eyeliner?

Sofia Vergara Shows Off Her Perfectly Toned Rear End in a Thong Bikini (PHOTO)

Post by Mary Fischer

What the heck? Isn't there any sort of justice in this world? Apparently not -- considering Sofia Vergara's bum doesn't have a lump, bump, or dimple in sight. To top it all off, it's perky -- like the butt of a 22-year-old stripper. (Take that, Gwyneth.)

Did I mention Sofia is 40? Yep, she's the big 4-0, but it's obvious that being on this earth for a few decades hasn't taken its toll on her stunning physique.

She proudly shared a photo of herself lounging poolside wearing a thong bikini, and after you see just how ridiculously amazeballs her ass is, you'll understand why she had no qualms about putting this pic out there for the world to see.

Get ready to weep ... here it is.

Are you freakin' kidding me? Excuse me while I go cry into my beer for a while. (Only a figure of speech -- I'm not drinking on the job.)

Um, I know it might sound a little creepy -- but I can't stop staring at her butt. It's flawless. Like for reals. How does any female on the face of this earth have a rear end that unbelievable?

Again -- it's just not fair. And you can bet your bottom (hee hee) dollar if I had an ass like that, I wouldn't be sitting here typing this post. I'd be laying out at a pool taking selfies of my "essence" all day long -- to the point where people would probably get really sick of looking at it. (Or maybe not.)

Flaunt that butt as much as you want, Sofia. If nothing else, do it for the rest of us girls whose rear ends could easily be mistaken for cottage cheese or golf balls.

Are you jealous of Sofia's perfect butt? (Don't lie.)

Gwen Stefani and Family’s Matching Outfits Are as Bizarre as They Are Fabulous (PHOTO)

Post by Lindsay Mannering

Gwen Stefani, her husband Gavin Rossdale, and their two sons Kingston and Zuma attended the Monsters University premiere in Los Angeles on Monday and wore fantastically color-coordinated outfits. Sticking with a palette of black, light blue, and white, the family of four is the first ever to make matchy matchy outfits look really damn cool. I mean, Gwen's red-lipped pop of color even matches Zuma's red P.O.C. on his shirt. This family really understands how to make a collective fashion statement, and I'm happy to recognize their effort.

Even though Dad seems a little reluctant to participate (where's his blue or red?!), he still gets props for going along with the whole thing. Gavin must get that a family that dresses together stays together, and he didn't want to rock the boat.

Plus, since Gwen's a fashion icon, as well as a very successful designer, I'm sure he leaves the outfit selection totally up to her. And maybe to Zuma, too, because that boy is working it.

The best part about their ensemble is that it's somehow summery and rocker-ish at the same time. How Gwen pulled that off, I'm not sure, but the sky blues, whites, and blacks scream Hamptons and Death Metal in beautifully perfect unison.

Well done, Stefani-Rossdale clan. You're an inspiration to us all.

Do you ever dress your family in color-coordinating outfits?

Katy Perry’s Transformation From Makeup-Free to All Made Up Is Truly Stunning (VIDEO)

Post by Nicole Fabian-Weber

Every day we're bombarded with images of gorgeous celebrities with long, shiny hair, flawless makeup, and perfect skin. And after looking at these women, and then looking at ourselves, we often wind up feeling like shit, because what we're comparing ourselves to is totally unrealistic and unattainable. Why doesn't my hair look like Kim Kardashian's? Because Kim's is fake, honey. Why doesn't my skin look like Gwyneth Paltrow's? Because Gwyneth spends more than we all make in a year to glow like that. It's impossible for the average person to look like a star. So, when a celebrity is brave enough to forgo all makeup and smoke and mirrors and share their insecurities, well, that's just dandy. It makes us, their fans, feel less crappy about our appearances.

Vogue recently released a video that features Katy Perry before the pop star puts on her lashes, her hair, and her makeup. Katy is gorgeous any way you slice it, but in this video, she really, truly is "just like us". Check it out:

See this video on The Stir by CafeMom.

That, my friends, is a lot of primping. I don't think any of us were under the impression that Katy was one of Hollywood's more natural-looking stars, but this is work right here! And it's proof that looking like Katy Perry is pretty much out of the question for anyone who isn't equipped with hair and makeup artists, as well as perfect lighting and real-life PhotoShop.

I love that Katy did this. And I also love that she admitted she's insecure about her skin. It shows that there's a "real" side to celebrities, as opposed to the airbrushed versions we're so used to seeing. And that's nice. Because it paints a much more realistic picture for the rest of us.

What do you think of this?

5 Best Sunscreens for Your Face That Don’t Leave You Feeling All Sticky (PHOTOS)

Post by April Daniels Hussar

Now that it's summer, I really try to wear sunscreen every day, even if I'm not heading to the pool or beach. I'll slather just about any sunblock on my body, but I'm super picky when it comes to my face. It can't be sticky, greasy, or smell weird -- all three of which describe so many products with SPF!

Through much trial and error, I've found some really great sunscreens made just for faces that can be used all year round (which is ideal). No greasy, pore-clogging, stinkiness at all!

Post by Maressa Brown

Let's be honest: From worrying about staying within your budget to contending with pushy salespeople, the process of stalking down and eventually saying yes to your wedding dress can be extremely stressful. It can also completely be the time of your life. Heidi Janson, a bridal salon owner in Georgetown, Mass. and founder of Brides Across America, felt that if anyone deserves some extra insurance that the experience be the latter, it's military brides.

U.S. Air Force Captain Kim French is one recent, perfect example. People reports French was in Afghanistan last year, "sitting in a dusty, sweltering pick-up truck," wearing a "sweat-soaked uniform," and fantasizing about her dream wedding dress. She and her fiancé, Marine pilot captain reservist Bo Biddle, were on a tight budget, so she had planned on finding the dress second-hand.

While a second-hand dress can be amazing and much more affordable, there's something about having your very own, a "something new" dress that can help make your day especially memorable and personal. After the "very hard year of deployment" French had been through, not to mention the "depression and stress that follows," she notes, French was a prime candidate for Brides Across America ...

And just last month, on May 18, she walked down the aisle in a gorgeous, new A-line halter bridal gown courtesy of the organization. Her dress was one of more than 10,000 gowns the nonprofit has given away as part of their plan to help military brides and grooms fulfill their wedding dreams. If there was any doubt that BAA did just that for her, French confessed, "I felt more beautiful than I have ever felt." Awww!

Janson explained her motivation:

It's like a Cinderella moment, where just for a little while, you can help them smile and forget their struggle.

Sure, there's that escapism/fairy tale factor, but I'd argue the mental and emotional weight Janson's org lifts off of her brides is just as, if not more, important. The worry of the cost, the fit, the alterations, not to mention finding The One can be overwhelming. But thanks to Brides Across America, it doesn't have to be for so many deserving servicewomen and men.

Was there someone who helped alleviate some of your stress when it came to The Dress?

Actress’ See-Through Polka Dot Dress Is a Red Carpet Disaster (PHOTO)

Post by Lindsay Mannering

If there was ever any doubt that sheer fabric and polka dots spelled out fashion disaster, here's your proof. Actress Brittany Snow attended the MuchMusic Awards in Toronto last night and looked rather ridiculous on the red carpet. The 27-year-old Pitch Perfect actress missed the note with this crazy ensemble.

There was, however, a silver lining. Brittany's hot pink lips looked awesome and so did her lightly-tousled blond hair and hot pink clutch.

Back to this horrible dress. It would've been OK had it stopped just above her knee, but the sheer overlay that scraped the floor does not do anyone any favors. It's trying to be fashion forward, but really it's just a fashion fail.

Brittany's not alone -- sheer overlay looks bad on everyone. Well, everyone expect Blake Lively, who somehow managed to still look gorgeous in this white canopy dress she wore to the Green Lantern premiere.

But Brittany's misstep here is excusable. She took a risk and it didn't pay off. A for effort. F for fashion flop.

Thankfully, she looked so great in neon yellow at the People's Choice Awards that we can forgive her almost every sin. As long as she promises never to wear this sheer polka dot mess again, she'll forever be in our good graces.

And where else would anyone hope to be?

What do you think of Brittany's dress?

Miss USA Erin Brady: 7 Things to Know About the Newly Crowned Beauty Queen

Post by Kiri Blakeley

Miss USA was crowned last night and the winner was 25-year-old Miss Connecticut Erin Brady. Hey, my home state! I wouldn't say Connecticut is exactly known for its beauty queens, so this is quite a surprise! And unlike Miss Utah, Miss Connecticut actually made some sense when she answered her "smart" question -- which was whether the widespread DNA testing of criminals was a good idea. "If someone is being prosecuted and committed a crime, it should happen. There are so many crimes that if that's one step closer to stopping them, then we should be able to do so," said Erin, not exactly sounding like a young Hillary Clinton, but at least not mangling her grammar. Here are seven things you should know about the new Miss USA.

- Erin works as an accountant in Hartford, Connecticut. Well, she used to. Her crown means she will now travel the globe and live in an apartment in Manhattan.

- Erin was a finance major at Central Connecticut State University. (My undergrad alma mater!)

- Erin will work to bring a focus on helping children cope with the effects of drug and alcohol use in their families -- something Erin says she had to deal with growing up. She'll also bring awareness to the pageant's official cause, breast cancer.

- Erin's grandmother used to tell Erin and her sister to "prance around the pool like Miss America."

- Erin said on Twitter this is a dream she's had "since I was a little girl."

- Erin is engaged to Tony Capasso, who urged her to compete without makeup. It doesn't appear she did that, unless she was born with full and perfect makeup.

- Erin is from East Hampton but lives in Glastonbury, Connecticut. Where I'm from! Dang, we're like twins! (Since Erin is from GHood, here are a few things she might do that only a local would know: Eats at Plan B, a popular restaurant. Shops for produce at Rose's Berry Farm. Hikes at Cotton Hollow. Drinks at The Diamond.)

No doubt Erin is an absolute beauty who deserves her award, but being from Connecticut, which is still reeling from the Newtown massacre, probably helped her. Connecticut needed some nice news. Congrats, homegirl!

Did you watch Miss USA? Did you agree with the winner?

Taylor Swift Does the Impossible in a Skin-Tight Bandage Dress (PHOTO)

Post by Mary Fischer

Forget even trying to come off as sweet and innocent -- Taylor Swift's black and white dress that she wore to the Canadian MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto has sexy and sophisticated written all over it.

Man -- does she have the ideal figure for a skin-tight bandage dress like this or what? (Enjoy it now honey. Your hips will catch up and refuse to cooperate at some point down the road. You just wait.)

And even though this dress looks like it was practically painted on her body, it's that snug, it still doesn't come off as the least bit trashy. (Not an easy feat with something this fitted.) It's super-sexy, yes -- but there's a big difference between wearing something tight and having it look sexy versus appearing slutty, which usually comes as a result of trying way too hard.

This dress leaves nothing to the imagination and hugs every curve of her body, but since it's not too short or low-cut, it gets the job done without taking away from Taylor's nice-girl vibe.

And honestly, now that she's 23, she should really think about giving up the whole squeaky-clean thing once and for all -- at least when it comes to her fashion choices. Seriously, what's the point of trying to maintain an image that really doesn't suit her anymore? It's obvious that she's growing up, and considering she won Fave International Artist of the Year for this particular awards ceremony, it's clear that throwing a little more sex appeal into the mix isn't hurting her career in the slightest.

That being said, this little black and white number is probably a big enough style risk for Taylor for the time being. Maybe once she turns 25, she can think about exposing a little more skin. For now, she's probably best sticking to dresses that cling to her like glue but at least cover her up adequately. (She needs a much older ex-boyfriend before she can really let it all hang out.)

What do you think of Taylor's dress?

'Teen Mom' Chelsea Houska Unveils Jewelry Line That's as Sparkly as Her Eye Makeup

Post by Nicole Fabian-Weber

Teen Mom Chelsea Houska has been teasing us with a "secret project" for weeks, and now she's finally unveiled it. Houska has launched a website, Chelsea's Choices, in which she sells jewelry. Cool story. Chelsea, who seems to have a love for all things girly and frilly, currently has two necklaces for sale on the site, and while the accessories aren't my style exactly, they're kind of cute.

Here's one of the necklaces:

A little too ... sparkly and heart-y for my taste, but I kind of like the idea of a ring inside a necklace charm. It's different. If this was gold instead of silver, didn't have crystals and hearts, and came with a different chain, I'd be all over this bad boy. And I think this is a good thing for Chelsea to get into; it's sort of a fun way to make money. And it's better than a sex tape.

According to the site, Chelsea, Aubree, and her team "are scouring the globe to find the most exciting pieces and bring them to you directly, cutting out the middleman. A stunning way for you to get the greatest designs from Europe and Asia at great prices!" I like it. But my only complaint thus far is -- where's the rest of the stuff? What kind of scouring went on if only two necklaces are featured on the site? We want more, Chelsea! And how about throwing in some rings and a bracelet? Our jewelry boxes can't subsist on necklaces and necklaces alone!

Congrats, Chelsea on your latest biznass endeavor. Good luck to you and Aubree. We'll be checking back often to see what else you've got!

What do you think of the necklaces?

7 Ways to Spruce Up Your Boring Old Ponytail (PHOTOS)

Post by April Daniels Hussar

My hair has FINALLY grown past my shoulders again after an awful chop job two Januarys ago. (A horror story for another time -- let's just say I said a "few" inches and he heard "a foot." I'm also pretty sure he used garden shears. But I digress.) Hooray! I've waited so long! And yet, the ironic thing is that I so rarely wear it down! Yep, most of the time my hard-earned long(ish) hair is up in a ponytail. Especially during the summer, when I can't stand the extra heat of hair on my neck, the ponytail is my stand-by. Ponytails are easy, but they can get kind of boring. However, with a little extra effort, our ponytails can be super cute and chic hair styles!

I got some great tips from a couple of stylists: Kattia Solano of the Butterfly Studio Salon in NYC, and celeb stylist Jonathan Hanousek, who shared a how-to from a style he created for Brooke Burke. I also added in a few ideas of my own (the last one is my favorite!)...

5 Proven Treatments for Flawless Summer Legs

Post by Cynthia Dermody

We're not going to lie to you -- fixing some of the biggest complaints we have about our legs, like spider veins and cellulite, does not come cheap. Exercise and diet only does so much. The biggest and most stubborn problems, like those that come from age, usually require a trip to the plastic surgeon's office. Sorry, but instead of spending money on useless creams and strange rituals that do nothing, it's probably better to start saving up for these 5 proven treatments for the 5 most common leg complaints. And by proven, we mean, they've been around so long, there's enough clinical and anecdotal data that says they actually work. The latest, greatest new technology may sound promising, but in many cases the jury is still out.

8 Easy Steps to Creating Soft Curls for Romantic 'Goddess' Hair

Post by Catherine Donaldson-Evans

Our favorite stars and the models in shampoo ads always seem to be flaunting long, gorgeous, softly curled hair in styles fit for princesses.

They make it look so effortless to get flowing, wavy locks, but when we try to copy the style at home, it never comes out looking as naturally beautiful as theirs does.

Well, fear not. We have the tips you need for those romantic "Greek goddess" curls right here!

Step 1 -- Separate damp hair into two sections.

Step 2 -- Fasten the upper layers of your hair to the crown of your head with clips and start working first on the under layers.

Step 3 -- Begin by misting hair with a thermal protection spray.

Step 4 -- Split hair into smaller sections and work on those one at a time.

Step 5 -- Use a 1-inch curling iron or larger to create loose, vertical, spiral curls.

Step 6 -- Set each curl with hairspray.

Step 7 -- When you're finished curling the under layers, get to work on the upper layers, using the thermal protection spray on each new section.

Step 8 -- Finger comb curls when finished.

See how it's done here:

See? Easy. And the results are simply stunning!

Confessions of a Curvy Mom: Back Fat Is Ruining My Summer Style

Post by Ericka Sóuter

Have you ever slipped into some really cute top or dress and thought, "I look fantastic." Then, you do a swivel to catch the view of the backside and the confidence you had just seconds ago crumbles. Why? Back fat -- that fleshy patch the protudes over and under the back of your bra. Ugh. It's the worst. Can you relate?

It's one of the hallmarks of hot weather. It can no longer be hidden by the thick sweaters or blazers I adore during the winter months. Summer clothes are just too thin to mask any imperfections. I used to think it was because of my weight. Nearly five years after my son was born, I am still not back to my pre-pregnancy shape and I assumed that that was why. Wrong!

This problem affects women of all sizes -- not just those on the softer, plumper side. It's all about the fit of your undergarment. So lately I have been on a quest for bras that don't pinch and pucker my back and it hasn't been easy. It's almost impossible to avoid with regular brassieres -- unless you are shaped like a rail-thin, skin and bones supermodel. But these amazing finds will have save your sexy summer wardrobe. They certainly have done wonders for mine.

First up, the Cami Shaper by Genie:

I swear it's as soft as it is cute. It helps smooth everything out, incredibly comfy and, at $19.99 for a set of 3, it won't break the bank. Coolest part, is that it comes in a rainbow of colors that will compliment just about anything in your wardrobe. (camishaper.com)

The Genie bra is also pretty amazing. It has the look of a sports bra but it still gives you a nice shape and a seamless silhouette.

At 3 for $29.97, it's also a steal. Plus, the new Water Color Collection includes perfect summer hues like orange and yellow. (www.geniecomfort.com)

Then there's Spanx's Bra-llelujah, which you will definitely be thanking the underwear Gods for.

I don't know how they did it, but this bra literally blends into your back. It looks amazing under the thinnest clothes. At $62, it is an investment, but a worthwhile one. (www.spanx.com)

Is back fat an issue for you? What solutions have you found?

Jennifer Lopez's Crazy Tight Dress Looks Like It Was Painted On (PHOTO)

Post by Lindsay Mannering

Jennifer Lopez knows how to make a fashion statement. The singer, actress, entrepreneur, and momma of twins stepped out to the amFAR gala last night, benefiting AIDS research, and stunned in a body-hugging metallic blue and lace floor-length gown. Almost every inch of her body was covered in fabric, yet J. Lo managed to ooze sexiness and confidence. It's a look she's certainly perfected over her 20 years in the spotlight.

There is, however, one thing wrong with J. Lo's outfit.

She doesn't wear it better.

If you recognize this Tom Ford dress, it's likely because Rupert Sanders' now ex-wife Liberty Ross wore it to the Snow White premiere, and those pictures of Rupert and her went flying around last summer after news of his affair with Kristen Stewart broke.

Liberty definitely wears the dress better, but Jennifer 100 percent wins when it comes to the makeup she wore with the gown. Liberty's dark lips distracted from the outfit, while J. Lo's soft makeup palette lets the dress shine on its own. They both get points for their hair -- slicked back and shiny was the only way to go.

Here's hoping the dress makes another appearance soon. Who knew that a mock-turtleneck, long-sleeve gown made of sequins and net could look so damn good?

Who do you think wore it better?

Jennifer Aniston Wants 'Sex Hair' on Her Wedding Day and Who Can Blame Her?

Post by Mary Fischer

I guess there's really no subtle way of saying this -- Jennifer Aniston is hoping for "sex hair" when she finally ties the knot with Justin Theroux.

Yes, I said sex hair. You know -- hair that's all messy because you just finished getting busy between the sheets and haven't bothered to run a comb through it. (And why would you? Sex hair is hot.)

And Jen's reasoning for wanting to go the post-roll-in-the-hay tousled route with her hairdo on the big day makes total sense.

She told Marie Claire, "I like loose and natural hair because it goes against the formality of the dress."

And there you have it.

She's going for that beachy, loose waves, not-at-all-fussy look that is naturally gorgeous -- which will suit her overall style perfectly. Honestly, can you picture Jen standing there in a wedding gown with her hair all poufy piled up on top of her head? Nope. It wouldn't fit her vibe at all.

Actually, I think a lot of brides would agree that sex hair is a highly coveted look, or at least I wish I'd gone that route when I got hitched almost 10 years ago.

I had a destination wedding in the Florida Keys, and while I had visions of wearing my hair down, ultimately I was talked into an updo by the hairstylist, who figured I'd get all hot and sweaty with it hanging around my shoulders.

She was probably right, but still -- looking back at my photos, I wonder if I would've looked more natural with my hair down. Considering I got married on the beach ... yeah ... I think it would have. (Oh well. Maybe in my next life.)

Jen definitely won't be disappointed with her choice, that's for sure. OMG. I'm already dying to see a photo of how gorgeous she's going to look all dolled up to become Mrs. Theroux, aren't you?

Do you prefer brides with natural hair or fancy updos?

Your Antiperspirant Is Doing Something Bad to Your Body but This Simple Trick Will Help

Post by Lindsay Mannering

Can we talk about smelly armpits for a second? Here's the deal. In the winter I use an all-natural, deodorant-only stick, and for the summer, I use an antiperspirant plus deodorant for a little extra sweat protection. But now that it's a couple weeks into the season, I'm starting to notice that my antiperspirant does not come off. Like, ever. No matter how much soap I use or how much I scrub m'pits in the shower, I can't wash the stuff off.

Then, when I go to put more on after my shower, it just feels like I'm layering it upon layers and layers and layers of the gluey clear stuff that promises to save me from embarrassing pit stains, and frankly, it feels gross. And the antiperspirant has become totally less effective, too.

Needless to say, I was inspired to find a solution to my sticky situation, and ohhmmmmgeeee, there is one.

Here's what you do: Before showering, dab a cotton ball or one of those round makeup-remover pads with rubbing alcohol and swab ya pits, girl. I knew rubbing alcohol could be used to remove antiperspirant stains on clothes, and lo and behold, it also removes antiperspirant build-up in your under arms.

It's pretty much a game-changer. My pits are free!

Not only do they feel less clogged (which they were, they were totally clogged with the stuff), but they look better and smell better, too. TMI? Eh, sorry.

Gone is that sticky residue feeling, and now, every morning, I feel like I'm starting the day off with a clean slate for m'pits.

And really, what more could a girl ask for.

Can you relate? Any other tips for removing antiperspirant build-up from ya pits?

Post by April Daniels Hussar

I'm all about makeup and beauty products -- I never got over the thrill of playing dress-up! -- but my absolute number one summer beauty secret doesn't have anything to do with an amazing lipstick, super chic nail polish, or even an incredible wrinkle-disappearing magic potion in a bottle. (Actually if you find the latter, can you let me know?!)

So what is it, then, you ask?

A big hat!

Oh no -- are you disappointed?! Wait, wait, now before you start scoffing, hear me out. I spend a lot of time at the town pool and at the beach in the summer. As much as I possibly can, in fact, because I consider it the big payoff for suffering through the wretchedly long, horrible, awful, no-good East Coast winters. I love, love, LOVE to sit in the sun and just SOAK IT UP ... bliss! But, of course, though it feels so good, it's so bad, both health- and beauty-wise. Sun exposure causes skin cancer, plain and simple. And if that's not scary enough, it causes ... dun dun dun ... wrinkles. (Ahhhhhhhh!)

Sunscreen is a must, but cute hats are so great -- not just because they provide lots of extra protection and hide your crazy pool hair, but because they look fab! You look so much more put together in a glam, floppy hat. I cannot tell you how many compliments I have gotten over the past few summers about my hats. These remarks always actually kind of surprise me, because I think of my hat more as a functional, rather than a fashion, choice. But just the other day, for my first venture to the pool this season (to help supervise a town-wide Girl Scout pool party -- now that's an adventure!), I busted out one of my sun hats. Nothing fancy, just plopped it on my head on the way out the door, laden as I was with about 800 pounds of sliced watermelon.

I got so many comments! Most of them along the lines of: "I love your hat!" "Cute hat!" "You look so great in your hat!" And one person who said I looked "fancy" which I thought was pretty funny, but what the heck, I'll take it. ARE YOU CONVINCED YET?

A great, floppy sun hat can be had for not a lot of money. I get them at places like TJ Maxx and Kohls; in fact I own the exact Apt 9 "Pyramid" Packable floppy hat shown here, which is on sale right now for $22.88 at Kohls. Give my "secret" a try: you'll look great and your skin will thank you for it.

Do you wear hats at the pool?

Jennifer Aniston Is Jealous of Kate Middleton's Hair -- Can You Blame Her?

Post by Ericka Sóuter

Jennifer Aniston is incredibly jealous of a super famous, raven-haired beauty. No ... not THAT one. We are talking about Kate Middleton this time. The former Friends star admitted that she is battling a serious case of hair envy. You should hear the way the woman, who inspired "The Rachel," talks about her own disappointing locks.

Marveling over the Duchess's 'do, she said: "Does she do her hair herself? She's got a hard job, being scrutinized like that. When I have a bad hair day, my hair just goes in a clip."

I don't think Kate has rocked a sloppy hairstyle since college. She is always perfectly coiffed, unlike Aniston and the rest of us commoners. But I was surprised to hear that Aniston truly despises her iconic hairdo. "'The Rachel' was horrible! I'd curse [hairstylist] Chris [McMillan] every time I had to blow dry. It took three brushes -- it was like doing surgery!" she complained.

Who knew the woman with the most desired hair in television history would have such disdain for it. In fact, if we had known getting “The Rachel” took so much painstaking effort, no one would have wanted it. She says taming her naturally frizzy hair was a tremendous amount of work. All those flat irons, curlers, and blow driers took a toll. Her hair was so thinned out, she had to use hair pieces to achieve those sought-after styles.

Actually this makes a lot of sense. Millions of women tried to mimic her, only to look like low budget versions of the star. No wonder. It wasn't even real. To actually get it to look that good, you need to have a fab stylist add clip-on extensions -- EVERY DAY! That's as bad as all those airbrushed images of stars, if you ask me. Just another beauty ideal we mere mortals will never be able to achieve. It makes me wonder -- Kate’s seemingly effortless locks are probably a pain too.

Whose hair do you like better -- Jennifer or Kate?
