A Message from the S&H Team

Four years ago, our ambition bug infestation would not let us sit tight while the wave of social blogging was connecting the world's socialites, and their coffee/cigarette combo with their daily gossip. Swearing that our Cairo babies would not miss out, we decided to pioneer Egypt's first social blog: "Scene and Heard".

Scene and Heard was about being pioneers, it was about being the first of our kind, and about giving our Cairo socialites an extra kick between their coffee sips and cigarette puffs.

After four years of posting, blogging, and bringing you the Cairo social scene on a platter, along with all the Cairo social blogger youngins that popped up along the way in the Cairo social media renaissance, something happened to us. We've slowly come to realize that our ambitions have all but run out, but that the time has come.

For what, you ask?

We here at Scene and Heard will be bolting our doors temporarily, so we can go womano-a-mano with our ambitions, as we make amendments to Cairo's first social/PR blog. In other words, a temporary social bug hiatus.

What will we pioneer next?

Will your coffee and cigarettes handle it?

Tune in and find out.

Scene and Heard Team

August Decisions

It's already the middle of July, can you believe it!

Ramadan is approaching and we can't help but wonder what everyone will be up to. With the August heat, we can only assume that fasting won't be easy this year. As for those who aren't fasting, will sahel still be an August destination?

Last year, the holy month only bit off the end of the summer, but Ramadan will interrupt summer for the next few years, which will definitely change summer plans. We already feel like this summer has been cut in half.

So tell us Cairo, will Sahel be a fitar hot spot this summer or will everyone stay in Cairo?

Aadek 3al BBM

Last week, we wrote about the Ronnie Khalil comedy show which featured a number of other Egyptian comeidans. One group, High on Body Fat, clearly stole the show, blowing everyone away with their hilarious music.

Unfortunately, their revolution remix hasn't been uploaded on YouTube yet, but check out a previously recorded version of their song about the obsession with BBM.

The song begins around the 30 second mark.

Rumor has it

So apparently Tahrir wasn't the only heated spot this weekend, from what we hear, there was yet another slap attack in Sahel!

What is it with girls slapping each other in public recently? It's not attractive ladies!

Anyway, rumor has it, at a house party in sahel this weekend two girls got pretty rowdy and between curse words, one ended up slapping the other one.

Come on ladies! This is Egypt, not the Jersey Shore

Has Egypt gone watch crazy, in a city full of trends, meet the latest one!

It was hot in the nineties and it still is now. The new Baby-G line brought to you this summer stands out for its variety of colors and functions. Baby-G is the ultimate tough watch with a unique sense of style. It was born from a developer's dream of "creating a watch that never breaks."

While it remains an affordable watch, Baby-G kept its classic designs and made a huge comeback among celebrities.

For more info. email us at babyg.egy@gmail.com
