Just scrap book paper, a little spray adhesive and Mod Podge over the top. Slowly but surely I'm determined to get organized in 2012.

I know I've slacked off on posts through the fall and holidays, but it's such a busy time of the year for us. Even though I may not post, I'm still busy crafting.

I had seen Kathy's Valentine's Day Card post over at Art Projects for Kids, and it reminded me that I needed to share our Birthday invites we created this year. I normally do a crafted invite; mainly because I'm cheap, and

Decorate with Children's Art

I know it's mid January and everyone has moved on from the holidays, but since I didn't post this year during the Christmas season, I thought I'd recap some of the creative things our family did over the break.

I decided this year to slow down our pace around the holidays so we could enjoy doing the things that are important to us as a family. I stayed off the computer, and I also

Thank You to my top referral blog friends!

I just had to take a minute and thank the top three sites that have sent so many readers my way in 2011, not to mention that their blogs are some of my favorites too! Yes, I teach art. But, as a parent, art is a great way to spend time with your child, and make some cute art for your home. Here's a lesson I did with a class this week, but YOU could easily create these with your kids. Just have fun with it, and you will end up with some great art for the fall season. Add your own personal touches, like words, patterns and color schemes.

The weather is beautiful this week and it finally "feels" like football season! Here's a super easy craft to show your school spirit.

I hosted an informal craft day a couple of Saturdays ago at my house with some really fun, creative friends. I had a blast crafting with Amanda from My Heart's Desire, Melony from Cleverly Creative Girl and Kennita from Random.Acts.Of.KINDness. Even

Art by Stacy Spangler at Scallion's Restaurant

I'm forever thankful to Rachael Crosby at Scallions Restaurant here in Little Rock for allowing me to display my artwork for the first time ever! I was so nervous about asking, but I finally got up the nerve. I have 14 pieces on display, and the most wonderful part is that almost all of them have scripture in them somewhere! I'm praying that His Word will speak to all those that see!

Well, summer is over and kids are back in school. I think I checked out blog-wise back in June, but I have been busy creating! Mostly in the kitchen and my art studio; not a whole lot of crafting. I wanted to share one of our favorite healthy recipes-baked eggplant and ranch (read on) with you. My kids actually love it and it's good for them!

And as my summer goes, I was really busy teaching

Getting ready for camp part 2-Packing tips

Is camp a part of your summer for your kids? It can be overwhelming-purchasing everything and then packing it all. If you missed my post last week on painting your own trunk or footlocker, read about it HERE. Last year I received the best packing list compiled by an experienced mom who had obviously packed many a camper. Just thought I'd share some of my favorite tips with you.

I've started pulling out camp gear from the attic to get my oldest ready for her summer camp. Last year was our first year, and I was so crazy trying to make sure I had all my bases covered, I never even posted on it. I thought "Getting Ready for Summer Camp" would be a great mini series to post about as I pull it all together this year. And hopefully I'll get some suggestions from my readers

Welcome Summer with a Frozen Chocolate Pie

Since I've been such a terrible blogger lately, I thought I'd share one of my favorite dessert recipes that will be a great way to kick off your summer.
